Avoid for hire. Beautiful location, horribly run. I rented the whole venue to shoot a simple 2-scene music video, for which we needed to use 2 empty rooms only. Shooting a dance in both. Very simple. Every request we had was met with resistance throughout the day. The on-site guy from the venue was charged to us (surely this would be the operating cost of a venue?) and was bothering crew throughout the day, generally making the shoot more stressful than it needed to be. This person had nothing to do with the shoot and shouldn’t have been talking to crew at all. At the end, we left the venue 15 minutes ahead of time. We were told we had gone 15 minutes over time because the on-site guy had to spend extra time checking the premises after we left, and were charged an extra hour for that. We used 2 rooms. We were packing down for 2 hours. There was plenty of time to check in that time. It took over a year to get my initial deposit back. I have to say that in the end, I’d forgotten about the deposit and Location Collective reached out to remind me. Which was actually a nice surprise, along with a lovely call. But frankly this was too little too late, and sadly the challenges within the venue made it an unnecessarily difficult experience, which is what I’m principally reviewing. I dread to think if a simple 2 room shoot can be this difficult there, what trying to do a wedding or more complex event would be like.

I’ve been a guest at many a wedding at Addington Palace. It’s fairly easy to get to - a walk away from bus and tram stops. The main hall is perfect for smaller weddings, with scope for exclusivity of the enter house (depending on the event). The wedding I went to recently turned one room into a night garden, and another into a bar and photo booth room respectively.

I had my wedding at Addington Palace last May. It went so smoothly thanks to the great support from Craig and his amazing staff. I got so many photos taken on the day both inside the venue and outside near the fountain. I picked the Gold menu and the food was pretty pleasant. Very prompt and polite service from the waiting staff on the day.

We had our wedding reception here in June, and it was an incredible experience! Throughout the process both Ana and Sean had accommodated our every need, from the countless phone calls to the many site visits. They were extremely flexible, given the nature of the venue, and we cannot thank them enough. The venue speaks for itself in terms of decor, and atmosphere. Our guests had a blast, and have been raving about the unique location. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and elegant venue.

Amazing Venue to organize a wedding. We shot at Addington Palace several times and every time our couples were extremely happy with the venue. From photography and videography point of view the venue offers a lot and the both images and videos coming out brilliantly. Highly Recommend Addington Palace.

We held our wedding this October at Addington and we had the most amazing day. Ana was the person we dealt with throughout the process of initial viewing to the big day and she was always super helpful and quick to respond to my queries. Addington is a beautiful venue and we fell in love with it on our first visit! It has a lot of character and didn’t need to be overly decorated. The benefit of hiring Addington was the exclusive use of the venue and several rooms for us to use. We had a lot of compliments from our guests on how lovely the venue was.

Attended a recent Bangladeshi wedding reception. Fabulous place full of grandeur, a perfect place to celebrate your big day. The palace features a stunning facade with Greek-style columns, intricate detailing, and a beautiful clock tower. The interior of the palace consists of grand rooms with luxurious furnishings and decorations, including a ballroom, a drawing room, a dining room, and a library. The palace is surrounded by extensive gardens and parkland. The gardens feature a large lake with a fountain, and there are also formal gardens and woodland areas to explore.

My son and now daughter in law got married at the Palace towards the end of March. We had a beautiful day and made use of all the fabulous rooms available to us. The venue is majestic, full of character and the grand staircase is amazing. The building really is a photographer's dream! Sean was particularly helpful, full of customer empathy and very ready to answer all of our queries. He was present in the background on the day of our event which was comforting to us. Without doubt I would definitely recommend this venue for your wedding. (I took one star off as I would like to see the same empathy and professionalism shown by the whole team that I experienced from Sean. I am 100% sure this will improve since I gave feedback at the time. We just need to understand that a wedding can be an emotional time for the bride and groom as well as their close family members.)

Wonderful staff, very friendly and accommodating. We shot a film in the palace and they made sure everything was perfect for us and easy to navigate. Not to mention the venue itself! It’s marvellous, full of character and surrounded by lush nature. Highly recommend for anything wedding or film related.

Terrible venue, scheduled a wedding originally in 28th June 2020, they really were reluctant to reschedule during the pandemic. Never offered a refund. Forced us 3 months before the original date to pay in full despite being in the middle of the pandemic and threatening to cancel the date if we didn't pay up. When they eventually offered a rescheduled date for 28th May 2021 after numerous phones calls and email exchanges. Middle of March 2021 they send a liquidation letter to all 70 odd couples and effectively have kept the money. So now have had two dates cancelled and lost out on a lot of money. I'd heavily advise against booking anything at this venue. The whole setup is dodgy as they ask you to pay a ltd company (Historic Houses Ltd) that took all the payments but the lease with Croydon Council is held with another company. The owner Denisa Power liquidated Historic Houses Ltd and is the owner of the new management company that holds events at Addington Palace. The staff is unchanged and when you call to query why your event is cancelled they just tell you nothing can be done as previous company is liquidated. I as well as the other couples will be advertising to our friends and family about this venue. If you book here then assume your money is lost. They have even been featured in the metro Type into Google: ‘Addington Palace Metro’ you will get a link regarding this story The whole setup stinks of unprofessional behaviour and if you see positive reviews from other reviewers recently then they are clearly bought or biased or have skin in the game so avoid them too. If this review gets removed I will be adding this back on.

After photographing several weddings at Addington Palace I can honestly say that Addington is one of my favourite venues in the UK. The Great Hall, The Winter Garden, The Grand Staircase are stunning and provide an amazing backdrop for photos. The events team is super professional and friendly. I def recommend this venue to future couples.

I had my wedding here recently and it was truly an amazing day. Ana & Sean and the rest of the team were very helpful, friendly and prompt with their responses. Cannot thank them enough for all their help to organise the day. The venue is beautiful with a lot of character and greenery. A lot of outside space to take photos with scenery. We had our Nikkah in the winter garden room which was perfect and added to the day!

Went to a wedding there. It's a nice enough small venue and has parking but if there are to many visitors them the over flow carpark is there but good 5 min walk but not for those that wear high heels

Great venue and events team! I held my wedding here in November of this year (2021). The wedding planning was accelerated as we only had 3 months to organise. Ana and Sean were fantastic in answering queries and generally being accommodating. The venue was perfect for our wedding as we were able to use the different spaces for our guests. I am so pleased with how everything turned out.

Attended a wedding: Much more impressive than you would initially expect if you're local but never visited. Looking a little tired in places but not in a way that de-rails it's charm. All in all was presently suprised.

This palace is a great venue to hold any celebration event the wedding ceremony that we attended was fantastic lots of space inside and outside,the golf course was a nice feature,highly recommended venue well chosen👍🏿

Hi, We hired Addington palace for my sister’s wedding and we were very very glad we did. The palace offers a lot of space and rooms that were useful for lunch/dinner. The main hall was perfect for mandap and theathre style seating. We dealt with Ana who was so helpful and we had support throughout the day when needed. I would recommend the palace for your wedding :-)

Visited recently with my husband for a family event. The place is very beautiful,clean and good management. I would highly recommend the place for any event / photoshoot. Even the outside space is very suitable for big wedding parties in summer.

I was lucky enough to attend my friend’s wedding at this venue. The location was perfect and it was easily accessible from the main road. The views were outstanding and the outdoor area was perfect for the sunny day. Everything seemed well organised from service to food. The grand decor and rooms were very elegant and complimented the beautiful day. Everything about the wedding was perfect. The couple certainly outdid themselves in choosing the venue!!

We had our wedding there a few months ago and we cannot describe how unforgettable the day was, thanks to the beautiful venue and the unbelievably helpful staff. Ana was phenomenal! Just had my daughters wedding there. What a beautiful venue for a wedding with exclusive use of ten magnificent rooms and a grand staircase. We cannot wait for the professional photos to arrive. The staff were extremely helpful on the day and very welcoming. Ample free parking. Lush green surroundings. Highly recommend for a wedding venue.

Addington Palace was the venue of my wife and I's wedding reception ceremony. It was a beautiful wedding in no small part due to the wedding venue. The Palace is stunning, well maintained and absolutely exquisite. The staff are professional helpful and extremely accommodating. Everything went without a hitch. My only regret is I plan on getting married once. If not I will gladly return. The palace is lavish, multiple rooms and the accomodation is magnificent. Suffice to say, Addington Palace was extremely worth it.
