The service was absolutely amazing, friendly and lovely staff. The best Sunday roast I have had in ages, A very decent quantity. The cleanliness and hygiene of this place is immaculate. The food did take a bit of time to come out but it was worth the wait! I originally came for the sunday roast as I wanted to try it before making a large booking of 35 people and was not disappointed and have booked!! See you in 2 weeks SCALA!

A good start but needs to improve. Nice ambience and were treated well on arrival (although it was empty!). Food took a while to arrive, which I suspect was due to the ovens only just being switched on (at 1:00 on a Sunday!). Steak and chips, chips were undercooked. Despite saying to leave it, they insisted in delivering more 5 minutes later. Should really have taken something off the bill. 2 pizzas both enjoyed. Ordered a second beer which never came. Bill was over Β£50 for 3 of us, although half of that was on the steak and chips! Of course they added the "optional" 10%. Orpington Scala is new (at the time of writing), and heaven knows Orpington needs more upmarket places like this. So I am sure we will give this place another go soon enough. Hopefully they've got over their minor teething issues.

Fantastic food and service with a smile. Good value for the quality and reasonably priced compared to other local restaurants. Would return and recommend.

What a phenomenal restaurant! Had a lovely family meal and I could not fault this place. There was so much to pick from on the menu, I literally wanted to try everything. Such quality ingredients and well thought out dishes. Everything was exceptionally tasty which is unusual for a place that does so many different types of dishes. Not to mention, such generous portions and instagram-worthy presentation! As for the dessert - just WOW! Especially that tiramisu, hands down the best tiramisu I've ever had! Loved the decor of the place, it was so intimate and cosy - interior was very true to the Mediterranean vibe of the restaurant. Most of all the service was faultless! The manager and waiters had such great knowledge of the menu and were so friendly. Very speedy service and never had to ask for something twice! Also loved that the manager was so accommodating of our large group, and even waited on us to ensure everything was perfect for us! Definitely a brilliant local find and somewhere we’ll be revisiting! Love finding such a wholesome restaurant like this!

5 stars for the delicious Linguine allo scoglio. I’ve ordered this dish every time I’ve been in an Italian restaurant, and today 15th January, I’ve had one of the best at The Scala. The quality of the clams, mussels and scampi is excellent; the pasta is perfectly al dente and everything in this linguine dish has a delicious taste, including the tomatoes. The homemade tiramisΓΉ is very good, the mascarpone cream tastes amazing; I would have preferred more coffee in the savoiardi, but overall the tiramisu is delicious. The 2 waiters who served us, a boy and a girl, are both very nice, smiling and professional. Good quality of food, good value for money and great quality of fish.

Really great restaurant. Cosy seating, good atmosphere, clean, very friendly staff who are super nice and helpful. Now, I must be honest....the calamari was not great (it tasted rather bland), but everything else was excellent! Definitely recommend it. Well worth a visit!!

Before I booked this resturant of a party of eight, I called to clarify if there was seating tables to sit on floor level, disabled toilets and parking outside as I require this. The manager said yes a to my question and that parking was available after six thirty. I was called on the day to by the manager to confirm i was still attending. When I arrived, our table was up stairs, the disabled toilet was out of order. The general toilets are miles away. I was so disappointed as a disabled person travelling from so far to get there and had no toilet facilities. The food tasted okay but was very small portions. I am not a big eater and I left hungry. Price for what you get was not worth it. Never will we attend this resturant again, disgusting !

First time dining there with friends and probably the last. Seems quite chaotic. Served by four different people so got orders mixed up. Ordered a bottle of wine but only brought one glass of wine. Ordered starters which arrived and then an additional starter ,which had not been ordered , arrived. Two of us ordered king prawn linguine. One plate had one large prawn and a few very tiny prawns and the other plate had one large prawn and no others at all. A new plate of food arrived by which time the rest of the party had almost finished. Not impressed.

I’ve saw quite a lot of posts about this place (all good!) and have always wanted to eat here… me and my partner FINALLY booked up and it exceeded our expectations, it was GOOD! We absolutely loved it from the moment we walked in. We were greeted by a gentleman who took us to a table straight away, very organised! The restaurant itself is beautiful, and really modern. Really big in the inside although you cannot really tell from the outside. The service from all of the staff was amazing, I had quiet a few requests regarding our order and they were accommodating to all, It makes such a difference! Food size was good, presentation immaculate taste was to perfection and and the strawberry mojito was amazing! Thank you so much, we will most definitely be returning and recommending onto all of our family and friends πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ Hands down my new favourite restaurant! We travelled 45 minutes to get there, and it was well worth it.

The food is very good, I was pleasantly surprised. We joined for a work dinner and others praised their food as well. The service was a bit slow though, but with a party of 20 I'd assume that's to be expected? They have been very kind and extended the closing hours for us, so that's a plus. And the manager was great. I'll definitely go there for dinner again.

The restaurant was maintaining social distancing, service was prompt and food & drinks were alright. Due to air conditioning not working , I felt little stuffy as the smell of sea food was all around. On our request the staff did open the back door for some ventilation so full marks on that.

Food was great! The restaurant was well decorated and service impeccable. My only complaint would be the long wait

Having had many a good evening at Scala we were surprised to hear that it had changed hands. We went as a group of seven on a Saturday evening recently. The service is disorganised, albeit friendly enough. We were told it would be a 40 minute wait for food and they weren't wrong. In fairness they provided bread and dips, but by the time starters arrived we were starving hungry. The portions of all the starters were tiny. I would be embarrassed to serve them, notably the 'king' scallops (see photo - compare scallop size to the pomegranate seeds!) After another long wait, mains arrived, and again, tasty dishes, well made, but the portion size was unacceptable. Desserts were nice enough, although I do have to question the logic of serving a cake on a slab of flat slate with an accompanying jug of hot custard! All in all, very disappointing and I can see Scala simply being run into the ground, trading on its former reputation. We won't be going back.

Just had dinner with family and didn't know there was a singer tonight so was a nice added bonus. Service friendly and professional on a very busy night. Varied selection of dishes on menu to cater for all needs. Thank you for a nice night.

The food, service and decor was all so perfect. I had a date with flowers to arrive prior. The manager was on point. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
