We came here for afternoon tea as we were told it was very good. The sandwiches and cakes were very nice but when it was brought over to us no one told us what was in the sandwiches or what the cakes were just put on the table and we had to work out what was what. I also had to get up multiple times and ask for more coffee, more plates, knives and forks. It would have been nice for one of the staff to come over and ask if we needed anything else, even a jug of water or something! The only time the staff spoke to us was on the way out when they said bye,I think they were happy we was leaving! Very disappointed and would not come back because of this. I’ve been to Ruxley before and the service was 100% better there☹️ Such a shame

Lovely food, staff very friendly. BUT visited yesterday for lunch and the prices have shot up !!.One small cup of tea £2.50, charged by the cup but delivered in pots.5 people in my group, one pot of tea and 1 small jug of milk.We had 2 rounds of tea, bill came £25.00 just for the tea.one basket of chips £3.00, don't get me started on the price of sandwiches.our bill £76.00. Can't afford to go there again.

Location is gorgeous, our waitress was lovely, dog friendly which is brilliant - but sadly the food was exceptionally overpriced for what it was. Over cooked eggs, beans sloped into a ramekin, very greasy meats - hash browns were really nice though! Shame the rest of the plate let it down. It was a really hot morning, so I popped inside to pay, sadly the young lady behind the till was incredibly rude and stand offish. I was interested in purchasing some of their honey - but her attitude put me off even asking about it. Total shame as it’s such a pretty spot with lots of pluses, it has potential, but prices do not match the quality or service.

Hired it out for a tea party. Lovely food. Reasonably priced cream tea. The extra drinks were a tad overpriced

We've eaten here several times and have had good food and service. However the last 2 times have been very disappointing due to poor service. By the time we received our scones, our tea had gone cold. When we asked to have our tea re-made, we were charged for it again and when we questioned this, the waitress denied that our tea was cold. Whatever happened to the customer is always right?! We thought we'd visit again just in case the last time was a one off bad experience. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. We waited 15 minutes to get our order taken - had to ask someone to come over to our table. Then another 15 minutes for 2 cups of tea and 2 scones - again, after asking when our order would arrive. When paying the bill, we asked if they were busy, we were told it wasn't busy but our order hadn't gone through and they had to wait for a fresh batch of scones to bake. If we had been told this at the outset then we would have been fine with that rather thinking that we'd been forgotten. We won't be back which is a real shame as the setting is beautiful. The young male waiter was very good at his job and this review is no reflection of his customer service.

We waited for an hour for our breakfast and the young guy who served us was super rude and argumentative every time we asked about our breakfast. Drunk our coffee and no sign of breakfast. Terrible service do not recommend

A rustic feel to the tea rooms - lovely cakes and nice drinks. There is a small seating area outside under cover and wooden tables on a grassed area. Have dropped two stars because we visited on a hot day with our dog and were told that we could sit on the grassed area only, not the terrace. Unfortunately, there were no umbrellas over any of the tables and so we had to sit in full sun. Did not stay long as too hot! It would also mean nowhere to sit at all with a dog if it was raining :-(

Honeydale is really starting to go downhill. The new layout within the restaurant is shabby and inefficient. They have got rid of the main counter and the lovely display of cakes and punnets of raspberries etc, and also some local jams and preserves, which used to attract customers to buy. There is now just a tatty stand, which is normally unmanned, and people trying to pay getting under each other’s feet. Even the service is going downhill – after getting our teas and coffee, waited nearly 3/4 of an hour for food to be served. And it wasn’t even very busy. And listening to the comments of other customers, they obviously feel the same.

Not a patch on what it used to be. Staff so so unwelcoming, unfriendly and to be honest rude! Zero customer service. Quality and quantity of food makes it so overpriced. Plenty of better options around the local area. Used to be busy but so quiet - seems to be obvious it’s gone downhill.

Really lovely place to go for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. Went on Tuesday with friends and sat outside over looking the fields. We ordered the afternoon tea and it was delicious, staff as always very friendly and nothing to much trouble, we even moved table and all with no fuss. Would really recommend this lovely tea shop

Am regular here and the food is always lovely, the wait today was just too too long, drinks were served quickly, but then an hour for a breakfast and one sausage with beans. Thought £5 for 2 small mugs of tea was bit steep, also totally my fault but didnt see the extra £1.50 charge for " building my own" , should have just added onto my husbands plate lol. We did know there was 35 minute wait for food when we sat down. Staff as always were superb ,friendly and just ran rugged dealing with busyness.

Had lunch here, had the breakfast which was lovely, and then had the cream scone for afters. The scone had no fruit in it an option would be nice, it looked anaemic and had a peculiar after taste. The jam was supposed to be luxury, that’s a joke, it was runny had no fruit in it and was more a pink colour than a deep red and there was no butter. Disappointed as I come from the South West and was looking forward to it.

Excellent. Went with my daughter and wanted the risotto but I am gluten free. They were so kind they cooked a fresh one for me which was gluten free. It was so delicious that I didn't want to finish it. Will definitely go again.

This was a lovely place to have breakfast, the food was fresh and very good quality. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the sausage was very tasty. I had white crusty bread with butter it was thick and very tasty. I would recommend it.

Today I visited Honeydale tea rooms ! I was blown away with the impeccable service by a young man named Lucas & a young lady Liberty ! They were so helpful , we were a very demanding table of lady’s that lunch and not once did their enthusiasm fade. They made us very welcome & we’re so helpful and polite . The food was very nice too ! I would definitely go back and hope to be served by these wonderful humans again! Many thanks ! A very happy customer!! :-)

The food at Honeydale Farm tea rooms is fantastic. The ingredients in the cooked breakfast are of the best quality and the cakes are all fantastic. Only minor thing is the coffee could be improved with fresher beans and some training for those making it. On the rare occasion it is full, the Italian place next door is also highly recommended!

What a shame! Used to frequent honeydale on a regular basis and always enjoyed the food and friendly atmosphere at reasonable prices for a relaxed lunchtime treat. Sadly things have changed. I understand that costs have increased but the price increases are extortionate, the atmosphere is no longer friendly and the staff are rude. I raised the issue of being overcharged for a basket of chips. I was charged £3 instead of £1.50. The waitress argued it with me. Told me I was advised of this when ordering, which I wasn’t. After going away to discuss, another member of staff agreed to refund me the difference £1.50 and BANNED ME AND MY 84 YEAR OLD MOTHER FROM RETURNING!! All they had to do was apologise, refund £1.50 with a smile and all would have been fine. I obviously won’t be returning, not because I’m banned but because it’s not a pleasant place to eat anymore.

Haven't visited for at least 4 years but decided to go for Sunday brunch. Had a great seat outside with an amazing view and cool breeze. Cooked breakfast was the best I've had in ages. Can't fault Honeydale Farm and will be back soon.

Love the breakfast here so much!!! Ingredients are fresh and of amazing quality🤩 I got the Honeydale gourmet breakfast, with no beans, but substituted for an extra piece of bacon🥓the waitress took our orders quickly and efficiently and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time despite being extremely busy! My dad got a mocha (which he thoroughly enjoyed) and I got a breakfast tea which was delicious! Dad got the gourmet breakfast with an extra sausage and added avocado. He ate the avocado on toast and ate the scrambled eggs separately, which for him was like having his two favourite breakfasts in one which he really enjoyed. He loved the buttery taste of the scrambled eggs (which is not for everyone, I personally hate butter, so if you’re not a butter fan, avoid the scrambled eggs!) the bread is extra thick cut which is nice, but perhaps a little too big for one egg that comes with the gourmet breakfast! However I thoroughly enjoyed the food at Honeydale farm and will definitely be returning!

Gorgeous cake in a beautiful setting. I popped in on a whim this week whilst out and about with my daughter in her pushchair. The staff could not have been more courteous and accommodating. The carrot cake was delicious and a generous portion for the price. I will definitely be making return visits in the near future!

Spur of the moment afternoon tea. First time here and can highly recommend. Staff polite and friendly. Scrumptious sandwiches and the best scones I've ever tasted. With a beautiful view to make a lovely time even better. Definitely be back.
