This cosy, delightful, well established restaurant 'EL IBERICO' ( Mediterranean/ Portuguese 🇵🇹, 🇪🇸 Spanish cuisine)has long been here in my memory ( I've lived in Blackfen for 36 years!) situated at THE OVAL, BLACKFEN, SIDCUP. A very popular 'top rated' restaurant in this area and no surprise how it has thrived for so long. My wife and I only live 5mins walking distance, and we have been here on several special occasions in the past. Our recent visit lived up to fine expectations, 'as always'; the owner one of the very best a restaurant could have - the staff happy to please. The warm attractive decor inside is matched with a Mediterranean taste of music in the background. Every every chair and table were taken, and at its best a jolly atmosphere seemed embraced by the clients. A good restaurant to cater for your friends, family and small party groups. The staff were very busy and on the go, and the excellent food and drink of Mediterranean splendour served are a hallmark of this fine restaurant. Folks, I highly recommend the Monkfish if you love your fish! I've had Monkfish before and very good too, but this main course dish was UNFORGETTABLE in my view. The anchovies were delicious too as the starter. Great value on the varied menu. Overall, an excellent meal and experience enjoyed at our local restaurant my wife and I - and yes, we will definately return. A1, 10/10 rating Thank you. Chris👍

Delightful local restaurant which has been established for many years. Seving traditional tapas plus theres a main menu to choose from. Foods fresh, homemade and delicious. I personally recommend the lamb cutlets, paella and meatballs! Good dry white wine and draught larger. All reasonably priced. Only criticism is the food came up extremely quickly, within 5 mins. next time I would delay ordering to enjoy the evening out a little more. Staff friendly, attentive and professional. Restaurant was very busy. Definitely recommend booking at weekends.

Both the quality of food and service were absolutely outstanding! As a couple who've never tried tapas food before we were made to feel incredibly welcome on our first visit, and had everything explained to us. We ordered a selection of dishes and literally every one tasted incredible. Despite it being a Friday night and very busy we were never left waiting and the service was excellent. We will deffo be going back and can't recommend El Iberico highly enough!

First time we've been despite living a 6 minute walk away, should have been sooner! Tapas was delicious, portions were the perfect size. A little disappointed that there weren't any non-dairy dessert options as I'm lactose intolerant, but also pretty used to that. We went midweek so it was quiet but still good atmosphere and great service from the owner.

We’ve eaten here a few times now and I’m glad we have. It’s a pleasant surprise to have a well priced and lovely little gem serving tapas just up the road, something which is in short supply round here! Compared to chain tapas restaurants, El Iberico is very well priced and does generous hearty portions. They have a good selection of drinks and the food is always tasty and far more authentic than some places. Staff are very attentive and look after their customers, and nothing seems too much trouble to them. Even when rushed off their feet, they take the time to look after their customers and aim for top service (which we have always had). The restaurant has a cosy, warm atmosphere and is a lovely little place to visit with friends or family. I’d definitely recommend a visit - it’s worth the price for a local small business.

El Iberico restaurant is a cosy (but not too cosy !) and friendly family run restaurant which most importantly serves delicious food. We tried the Tapas on the first couple of visits and moved onto the steak, which is both delicious and very reasonably priced. The steak is served with small roast potatoes and vegetables, all of which is really fresh and cooked perfectly. Staff are all attentive and welcoming, there's no feeling of being rushed.100% recommend this wonderful place for lovely food and a friendly atmosphere.

We had tapas it is Over priced, the chorizo was burnt with the paper left on, patatas bravas were not crispy cubes in a nice tomato sauce, chicken skewers tasted processed, calamari was chewy. But the garlic mushrooms were ok. Not ever going to return.

Hadn't been here since before covid shut down. Happy to report it's just as good as ever. Great good, great service and a really relaxed atmosphere that made the evening extra special for me on my birthday meal with my family.

Food is always amazing and the service is always perfect. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, I would highly recommend a visit.

Sorry to say it but average at best…..small portions relative to the price which you could overlook if there was a sense of authenticity….. sadly most of it seemed all reheated and lacked any taste. Hate to say it as the owners seemed like genuinely nice people.

Had a great evening with my two grown up children. Food was great, service wonderful and the cocktails went down a treat. Will be back.

Amazing place from the time we walked in friendly and warm atmosphere welcoming staff who looked happy to be working and couldn't do enough for us food was amazing very quickly served hot and very very tasty . We will definitely be going back .

My only criticism is it was pretty expensive. Lovely food - I enjoyed every course - and the other dishes in my group looked delicious too. Very friendly and efficient staff. Nice decor and atmosphere making it an overall very enjoyable evening.

Being a family run business, the staff are always friendly and happy to help. The food is ALWAYS 10/10 and that is the case if you choose to eat in or have as take away. The new specials are delicious and I hope they stay on the menu.
