READ THE RECENT REVIEWS - We’ve eaten here numerous times over the last few years and have always had a great experience, although the restaurant must have changed hands recently and the people that have taken over obviously have no idea on how to run a restaurant. Firstly we couldn’t get through on the phone to book a table as no one answered, even after numerous attempts. The online booking system also didn’t work so we decided to just turn up. Upon arrival the restaurant wasn’t at full capacity and the single waitress working that evening (a Saturday) seemed somewhat baffled that we had come for dinner? We waited 5 mins for a table to be made available. The tables and chairs that are obviously meant to go out the front were piled up in a corner taking up extra space and making the place look untidy. After being seated we were eventually brought a complimentary bottle of water and menus. The water in the bottle turned out to be foul tasting tap water (it may have been from a tank rather than mains water) Don’t bring people a complimentary bottle of water if you’re just filling it up with tap water. The menus were also filthy and sticky with old drinks and food on them. Not a great first impression when choosing what food to eat. We eventually ordered 2 drinks (a beer and a cocktail) whilst deciding what food to order. During that time another couple turned up to eat and again the waitress seemed completely surprised and caught off guard that they had come for dinner, and again faffed around getting another table ready- the couple left stood in the doorway for 5 mins. My pint of beer came and by the time I had finished it (maybe 15mins later) the cocktail eventually turned up. During this time no food had been brought out (although a couple of take aways had been collected) and it became apparent the other people sitting in the restaurant were not happy and had obviously been there a while waiting for food. We decided not to order food and booked another local restaurant whilst waiting for our bill for the 2 drinks. The other couple that had come in whilst we were there also left without ordering anything because of the poor service. The single waitress working that evening was obviously inexperienced and overwhelmed, and wasn’t particularly happy herself. The restaurant wasn’t even at full capacity. Overall a very bad experience in a restaurant that we once enjoyed. We won’t be returning.

Great food and drinks. The service was superb! Lovely ambience and decor for the area. This is one of the rare restaurants that serve truly authentic Sri Lankan food so a must-try for foodies looking for authenticity in emerging cuisines. I would definitely come back for more. I'd recommend anyone to try crispy mutton rolls (or vegetable rolls) for starters, and the big man's kottu and roti!

Personally I prefer a physical menu as opposed to table QR codes, only because I think you shouldn't be on your phone too much but instead socialising. However the food was both unique & tasty. The lobster 🦞 was small but to be fair it was cheap enough. Cocktails very good! Worth a visit!

Rubbish meal out. We went to the elephant on a Friday night, we were the only people there, and we had to ask them to turn the music on as it was so quiet. We had to ask for our order to be placed for drinks and food as the waiter was also the chef for the night. Food took over 50min and we had to ask several times when it was coming. Ordered the Eli burger and it was just a coleslaw burger with more mayonnaise. Really really bland. They ran out of rice at 7.30pm. We also ordered poppadoms and found some plastic in it. The number of deliveroo drivers though was insane. They were obviously prioritising take out orders. The door was opening so much that the place was freezing. Wouldn't recommend dinning out there.

Went there for Happy hour. The staff are lovely and the cocktails are great. Haven't been here for food yet but the meals that went past looked good. They have outdoor and indoor seating!

Cosy place for drinks and catching with friends. For the food only tried chilli fries - too saucy and salty and mutton roll was a bit over fried. It is okay not wow but glad to see that the food is halal.

Best restaurant I’ve ever been to! I had never tried Sri Lankan food before and I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing taste. It is rich and tasty but not overly like in some other restaurant. Extremely happy with the service too, the staff was very friendly and professional and knew everything about the dishes. It’s rare to see restaurant staff as passionate as they were. As I didn’t know what to choose I was recommended to try the Kotthu chicken, which I had never heard of before. Finally, the one touch that really got me was the perfect cocktail. I had the Colombo city limit (the pink drink in the photo) which made my evening. I absolutely recommend this place for both eating and having a drink.

Food was very tasty! I should have asked for a slightly spicier version of my curry, but otherwise clean plate and bowl. I wasn't sure if it was open, there was no other customers, but the staff were quick to serve. Would recommend for a nice quick meal.

👍 Food was alright. I had poached egg on sour dough which was nice. The steak sandwich was super dry & boring though. Service was terrible. We sat there for ages. Had to ask for our bill & had to ask to be served to get dessert. The waiters are all very young & we’re just hanging around looking lost....
