Just visited The Range store at Pitsea, what a good shop. They have such a huge selection of items from furniture to garden equipment with everything else in between. You can't compare it with shops like John Lewis or Debenhams, it's more in competition with Wilkinsons and Savers for cosmetics but it's all there in one place under one roof. There is a huge car park to the front of the building and if you're hungry halfway through your shop, there is a cafe in there for a bite to eat. For most general household items this is an ideal place and well worth a visit. Please see my pictures which show just some of the departments in this shop. Thanks for reading 👍😀 Update; Just been back to The Range Pitsea and found that Iceland (the frozen food people) have rented out a small area of The Range store. There is a good selection of frozen food and adds to "the everything under one roof style of shopping." 👍

Wanted to pay for goods at this branch........there was only one standard checkout open at 10.45 with 8 customers waiting. I went to one of two Customer Service desk tills instead to pay, where 3 staff were talking one dealing with a customer at a till. I asked 3 chatting staff at 2nd till "can I pay here as only one checkout is open?" Answer from lead staff member "No you'll have to join the queue" by which time there were 10 customers waiting.......I left the goods in the customer service area and left.

Worse service ever…. Delivered wrong mattress and made me sleep on floor for 3 weeks. Still told me to wait for another week just to respond to me. Their phone never gets answered. Irresponsible people to deal with. We have to suffer due to their inefficiency. I have now disposed off the one they delivered and bought another mattress by paying again. Lost my time , money and peace of mind Pls don’t buy anything from them. There are many more responsible shops in the area who has better service in the market.

Nice big shop (has an Iceland built in!) Lots of choice of everything, I go in there for pet food which they have lots of different brands of, the only trouble is a lot of it isn't priced so you don't know how much you are paying until you get to the counter which can be a shock sometimes as they can be dearer than other places, I use it for the convenience so I accept the extra price I suppose lol. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help which always makes a pleasant shop!!!

The Range or Iceland...Iceland or the Range. Not sure? And neither were they. In my opinion two into one doesn't go. Very strange to have an Iceland slap bang in the middle of the Range. Once you've found your way in to this confusing place with badly signposted car park and shop, the layout is all wrong and the aisles very difficult to negotiate ...especially with a wheelchair user present. When you've selected your purchases, the one queue system, that I'm all in favour of usually, just confounds you more. A bodiless voice shouts from somewhere in the distance " Next Please". Where are you? If you slightly deaf forget it and just wander down the lane until you see a free counter. Maybe it's the Range management that has a problem with disabled people, previous experience has not improved from other stores.

Really good range of framed pictures. Need more than half an hour to just have a look around this store.

Great location, free parking very spacious inside. The go too store for when you need that home wear, decorative item to carts & crafts. Thing that lets The Range down for me is the constant issue of lack of price labels on the shelves, approach a staff member and they say go to customer services! Not me, the store has lost a potential sale and an online multi national store will gain a sale. I have raised this issue before with store management who actually confirmed this is a widespread issue with the Range. My suggestion of having barcode readers around the store, like a well known supermarket does/had may help losing sales. Great range of products, usually can find what you’re looking for. I won’t start about checkout queues 😬

It could be great shop if only could put the prices on things. Every time I go In I have to look up price on my phone. so now I only go if I can't get what I want else where. Also never enough staff so queues

Fridges were half empty not sure if waiting for delivery but disappointed. Then to be told at checkout if u spend £20 u get a free bag of sweets and get home and see you’ve been charged for them , what a joke.I will be keeping a closer eye in future .Not worth the petrol to go back.

Always welcome a browse around a range, this store always seems to be pretty tidy and well maintained, the addition of an ICELAND section makes it a great addition. Staff are always there to help and tills are run with good efficiency

Came in to store looking for patch repair for my pool, I asked an assistant Jane for help, she was more than happy to help me, even tho she was busy putting out stock. I got everything I needed and a few other things I was looking for. Brilliant customer service Jane ..

I do like it in here alway kind of crazy lol so much going on with all the different sections only thing that is really annoying is there always seems to be loads of colleagues just wondering around and there's sooooooooo many items with no pricing tickets

We wanted to buy a long shower curtain 210mm instead of the usual 180mm. On the Range's website there were several. Do we went to the store to buy one. Unfortunately we discovered that they'd only ever sold 180mm ones in store (and they have a display of these from yellow ducks to jungle themes). So we came away empty handed.

People sniffing drugs in a car in the baby parking spots out side the store like it . When I asked staff hanging around the tills like they were getting ready for lunch, to speak to security(this was a Saturday) they said hes not there and weren't really interested in what I was trying to tell them!!!! I only was asking if the CCTV covered the baby spaces in the car park so I can let the police know the reg no of the car!!!!

I'd given positive feedback to staff members in the past, however, on this occassion, my experience was way below expectations and if I could give minus, I would have. I purchased a planets bedding set for my son on 23 December 23, from The Range in Pitsea, Basildon. He received two other similar sets as gifts due to his love for the solar system. I'd decided there wasn't any need to keep the first one I had previously bought, so I went back into the same store in Pitsea to return it. On arrival, I took the item to customer service with the receipt and product intact. The lady scanned my receipt and said I'd missed my return date, and she'd have to call a manager over to get authorisation on the return. I was shocked as it was a full price item, within a month of me purchasing it and we'd had Christmas and New Year in between? When the manager arrived, he looked very harrassed and uninterested before the staff member could even open her mouth. She tried to explained the situation and that it had gone beyond the 14 day returns period, which I had no knowledge of. The Deputy Manager, going by the name of Mark, replied, no there's nothing we can do, it's outside of the returns period? So I thought, not ideal, however I'm happy to take a credit note or do a swap for something of the same value? I was again told no, it's outside of the returns policy. I then explained my situation and that I'm house bound due to a disability, and am not fortunate enough to pop out to the shops when it suits me, but his reply was, that's not his problem, he is there to uphold policy and not to take any abuse. I'm not entirely sure how he could have felt he was being abused for simply explaining to him my reasoning behind not being able adhere to the 'new' 14 day returns policy and then not being able to provide me with an alternative - it had been 27 days since I'd purchased it, not 27 years! For someone whose circumstances are challenging enough, I can honestly say I have never come across such unprofessional, improper and disreputable service in all my life. I'm shocked at how someone so unconcerned and willingness to show their lack of regard for others' needs or troubles, is employed by a reputable company like yourselves, particularly at managerial level!
