The Meerkats were cute too and very cheeky. It's a small zoo but with such a low admission fee it really is a bargain and absolutely worth visit... The animal enclosures are ok, staff pleasant, I appreciate leaving the grass for the beasties but some of it just looks messy. I understand businesses have had a tough couple of years and the zoo has had two fires in recent years so given this, it's a sweet wee park and a fair price for entry. Ladies loos need a thorough clean though

Sorry! Only going to give one star to this place. We visited in Feb, so winter season. The zoo needs a good bit of love and repair. The recent (years ago) fire destroying their soft play is still a ruin, half the enclosures were closed or broken, the kids amusements were broken and stole our coins. The cafe was the most functional section. We got served one at a time for 3 of us. One of the pizzas was frozen. Took 30 mins to receive all 3. Prices are very high for tiny portions. Managed to chalk up Β£50 for a snack. Local pubs on the approaches would be a better bet. Sorry I can’t support you guys, wish you all the luck but we won’t be back

Online booking is required but that was very easy. There is a signed one way route around the zoo but people were meandering this way and that between enclosures. Not a problem whilst we were there as it wasn't particularly busy. All the enclosures are lovely and clean and the animals are healthy and content looking. (the meercats are adorable). There's a playpark suitable for both smaller and older children. The gift shop has a nice wee selection of souvenirs. The staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful. Toilet facilities are available. We really enjoyed our visit. Considering all the setbacks the zoo has suffered, the determination and effort to overcome is very easy to see. We're looking forward to coming again soon.

What a great little place. The Africafe is great, serving brilliant pizzas when we visited. The staff are really friendly and happy to help. They had a demonstration of a corn snake at 1pm the day we visited but it can vary day to day. There's lots of work going to to bring the site back to fully open with the bird house hopefully coming back soon!

Really small Zoo but still a great experience! The meerkats are incredibly cute and come running across to you when they see you. There is also a walk in Lemur enclosure that allows you to get up close and personal with the lemurs (without touching the animals, of course). Captured some nice photos whilst there 😁

A small zoo currently in recovery from an unfortunate fire that did considerable damage to several buildings. The new Lemur enclosure with walk through path allows for very close interaction with the primates. A recent new addition for the other primate pair is very cute. The Meerkat enclosure is also home to a pair of Porcupines. They are currently working on a new walk through bird enclosure which will open soon. The cafe serves great soup & a selection of other meals & snacks. Good coffee & cakes.

My wife, 2 year old son and I visited today. The zoo had such a warm feeling to it and all the animals seemed to be engaged with us as visitors and seemed to be relaxed and comfortable in their environments. The two armadillo were so active and the monkeys were a breed we had never saw before and really cool. Staff were all so friendly in all areas. We are excited to go back as there was so much work being done including on the decking area outside, the entry where some tanks were being installed for reptiles I think and outside where it looked like a really cool Lemur walkthrough was coming together. This is not a massive place but for Β£3 entry and Β£1.50 for a child, it was well worth the money. We had coffee and cake which was great in a nicely decorated cafe area...love the giraffe and zebra seat covers. There is a swing park for our son as well. The zoo was fully accessible. We spent 2 hours here today and had a great time. Can't wait to come back.

Tiny zoo but it's brand new so will be even better when it expands. Lemur walk is worth the admission on its own. Staff are great and the cafe was lovely.

We booked to feed the meerkat and porcupines yesterday. It was a fantastic experience. The man was so nice helping us feed the animals and informative with our questions. My friend and I were SO happy after our experience. I'd advise everyone to do it. It's a small zoo, it tells you that on all the information online. I loved seeing the birds so close up.

My husband and I visited Fife Zoo for the first time. We had a fantastic time! The zoo may be small at the moment, but the dΓ©cor is lovely, authentic and natural. The animals look well-cared for, lively and healthy. I really felt like a lot of love had went into both the design and the caring for the animals. We spoke to a very friendly and knowledgeable lady who told us all kinds of interested things about the 'coatis' and who brought out some creepy but interesting cockroaches for us to see, and feel! She made our visit even more special. I love taking pictures and I got some really nice ones. The lemurs and the armadillos especially were very photogenic! I'm very much looking forward to new areas opening and for more animals to be added to the zoo. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic independent, family owned zoo. Owners are lovely and easy to talk to. Went for the Meet the Lemurs experience as a belated birthday present and it was well worth the wait. Will definitely return and recommend it to anyone and everyone.

We went for an animal encounter with the porcupines and meerkats. It was brilliant, the keeper was very knowledgeable and answered loads of questions from the kids. It is also good value compared to other places. The zoo is exactly as described on the website with a nice cafe, good playground and small shop. Will definitely go back.

We visited following the fire when there was just a little taster session. There wasn't a lot to see but it's a very nice little zoo and you can tell it'll be a great day out once they're fully back up and running!

Although you get a two hour time slot. We managed to go round it TWICE in 25 mins. The place is very nice tho. However you can't spend a lot of time there at the moment. ( In my opinion) as they are still recovering from the nasty fire they had. And are in the process of rebuilding

Sadly due to a horrible accident, less than usual, but despite circumstances it was fun day, as the zoo is working around it. Take away food and snacks bar. Benches for pack lunch. Free fruit which was lovely. The animals where out which was nice, and the enclosures where natural and seemed a lot more comfortable habitat than a lot of zoos. Thank you!

Had a wonderful day here yesterday with my family. The area is small after their awful fire but I was happy to pay the reduced price, eat in the cafe and donate some money to help rebuild a local business. Very clean and lovely park. Food in the cafe is Ve,V and quite amazing. Well.done guys πŸ‘

Cheaply priced while they are doing the rest of the zoo up. So far so good zoo looks really good and it's obvious a lot of thought have gone in to the areas and enclosures. Nice day out with zoo, Playpark area and the soft play although the soft play was busy, there was plenty of space for kids to run off energy.

Very nice and very small zoo, I think there was only about six species of animals, I don't think you could spend any longer than 20 minutes to walk round the area.

Understandably devastated after the fire, but could definitely do more to enhance the animals they have. There were zebras but you could only see them from a distance as all paths around the enclosure were fenced off. There was a water gun game but this was turned off, a one way system which sent you in a loop round nowhere. I feel like more could be done whilst there is ongoing work to repair fire damage.

Great wee zoo. Don't go expecting to see tonnes of animals but the price to get in more than reflects this. The staff are all incredibly friendly and the cafe is also really good. We just had a cuppa and a cake but it was lovely. A great day out for anyone that likes wildlife and cakes.

I went with my 3 grandkids 13 8 and 4. The 2 older ones were so disappointed it took 5 mins to walk around the zoo spent more time looking around the shop than the zoo. Animals looked well looked after. The wee won couldn't see the zebras as was too far away. Cafe they only had pizzas and cakes coffee was great. There was a few inclosures that were under construction but I think the website should say that it's only 15 min at most to see zoo and that's been over generous. The playpark was good. In our 2 hour visit. Zoo, shop, playpark and cafe 40 mins we then walked to fishing lake and seen the horses which the kids enjoyed more. The price was OK but I won't be back until there's more to see. We did get to hold a baby snake high light of visit.

Very small but still good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Small selection of animals and birds who were well looked after. It was great to get in with the lemurs and hear all about them. There had been a fire in one of the buildings but were told that they are trying to build up the zoo as quickly as they could. Lunch in the cafe was good and so was service. Will look out for more exhibits in the future.

A nice wee zoo with a lot of potential. Obviously at the moment it's on the small side, we also visited on a fairly miserable winter day so a lot of the animals were (understandably) inside. Because of the risk of Avian Flu the aviary walk through was also closed. It's nice to have a zoo in Fife and we'll worth supporting for the cheap entry price at the moment, hopefully in the future they will be able to expand. The cafe was also excellent and the staff were lovely.

Well this was my first visit, so let's begin the review, the zoo is quite small so not a all day visit, however the staff are kind, polite, and knowledgeable, they answered all questions I had about the animals, all the animals are visible even if they are in there bed areas, there are talks and meet the animal experience for free if you are there at the right times, when we visited they got 2 snakes out to meet children and adults alike, you can get really close to the birds in the aviary. The toilets are within the gift shop and were clean at our time of visit, the gift shop was not staffed at the point of our visit and didn't have alot of anything on the shelves either, I carnt comment on the cafe that is there as we didn't use it, there is a children's outside play area but again we didn't use it, there is a distinct lack of signs on the way to the zoo so could be tricky to find for some to find, the zoo is still recovering from a fire so there are some areas of construction continuing but don't let that put you off, ticket prices are just Β£5 for a adult (Β£4.50 consession rate) I would have liked there to have been more at this little zoo, but still a great morning or afternoon out! 4/5 stars and we will visit again in the future.

A nice small zoo. It doesn't take very long to get round but going round, getting something at the cafe or having a picnic and then seeing any favourites again is a great way to spend a couple of hours. The lemur walkthrough and the aviary are a highlight, and the staff can't be faulted.

Love the fact that although it's small you can go in with the lemurs and birds! A nice variety of bird to see. The playpark was great for our 2 girls and meant that we could spend 4 hours there and make a day of it πŸ˜€

Had a great time! very well maintained and the enclosures all looked great. Have been following the zoo on social media for awhile and was really looking forward to my first visit and wasn't disappointed. Cafes food was good (highly recommended the soup and hot chocolate) and inside areas/toilets were very clean which is very appreciated. Being a fish and reptile keeper I would've liked to see more in the indoor tanks but it didn't take away from the experience. Only thing really missing is personally signage about the individual animals, names, info that sorta thing would've been nice. Had a really nice chat with a keeper who talked to us about the Coati and was nice to find out more information about the two individuals kept at Fife zoo which was awesome. Looking forward to going back πŸ˜„

Lovely wee zoo. Took our 5 year old and had a great time. Highlights were playing with the baby monkey through the glass, the scurrying armadillos and the lemurs: you can walk through their enclosure. It's not a big place, but that is an advantage. Couldn't try the cafe as we bought our kid a great toy snake from the gift shop, so we had to hurry back home for snake playtime. Recommend a visit.

  • 4/5 Mark B. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely little place in the back roads of Fife. The animals looked really well looked after and the facilities are good. Only downside to it, it's a bit small, but i understand there is plans to expand in the future. The fire wouldn't of helped things either.. I hope they get things built up over time.. Definately worth a visit..

  • 5/5 Amber B. 2 years ago on Google
We had such an enjoyable visit. The lemurs were the absolute highlight. The zoo is small, however, due to the size of the zoo and the footfall you are able to spend more time watching the animals in their enclosures without feeling pressure to move on like you do at larger parks. The animals looked very well carered for. It's such a shame about an area of the zoo having been affected by fire but hopefully if the zoo is well supported it can be fixed and extended in the future. The price of the zoo was only Β£5 per adult which I thought was reasonable and the coffee was well priced too.

  • 5/5 rebecca C. 1 year ago on Google
Great small zoo, not a huge variety of animals but a really interactive experience where you can get up closer to the animals than other parks and even got to hold a snake at their meet the beasties demonstration. Absolutely worth the money, great value, low cost family day out.

It's a lovely wee place. Fab food in the cafe. All plant based which I love. Not too much to see but The lemur walk was totally worth it. Would like to have gotten closer to the Zebras but I'm sure that will come. Still doing a lovely job. Hope that the expansion continues. Highlight was The lemur walk and seeing a Meercat tell a porcupine to get off it's pepper! Hilarious. Keep up the good work.

  • 4/5 Andrew P. 1 year ago on Google
Not very big, but entry price low and the lemur walk through enclosure is great (subject to the lemurs making an appearance of course). Good to see them open and working towards expansion. Would visit again.

Realistically could be round this in 20 mins but we were there for several hours - granddaughter loves animals. Staff were knowledgeable and didn't mind talking about the animals - they appeared to love working there. Only down side was the cafe - ages for food that wasn't that great - hotdog was a sausage - pretty yucky - on a stale hot dog roll. Wrote the date in the dust at the till - looked...... Play area for small children with plenty bins. Toilets clean - just a shame parents don't get there children to flush them. Wee gift shop appeared expensive but they always are All in all a nice afternoon out

  • 4/5 Chris M. 1 year ago on Google
It's a shame to see some of the negative reviews of this place since it's fairly clear it's a small zoo. After visiting for a 3rd birthday outing I felt it was exactly what you would expect to be entertaining to children who aren't normally glued to digital devices. As an adult, on first arrival you will notice areas that need a little tlc: cracked window at the entrance, pond area needing a tidy, the sadly charred remnants of what used to be the kids play area. Children however are more interested in the main attraction... The animals! From the stick insects through to the zebras these animals look quite clearly content and cared for. To me this is the main thing when visiting any type of Zoo. Having been to some bigger ones in cities it was a little refreshing to not see animals pacing, hiding and generally broken from years of captivity/disruption from visitors. When you look past the basic issues of the odd tidy up here or repair there and focus on that, it can be quite an enjoyable and peaceful bit of time watching the animals potter about their day.

  • 5/5 Paul F. 1 year ago on Google
The Fife Zoo was fantastic for the admission price. Staff where very friendly in cafe, reception and animal caretakers. There is a good selection of animals and you can get closer to them compared with larger Zoo’s. The cafe is reasonable priced with a good selection for all the family. A large section of the zoo was fore damaged in 2021 and remains in a derelict state. I hope the zoo is able to repair or replace the building for future customer to enjoy. If you have children and are in the area you won’t regret a visit. Planning to return for one of the photography evenings.

Small zoo but a great day out. They have porcupines, meerkats, marmosets, zebras, exotic birds and lemurs amongst other animals. You can go through the lemur enclosure which is really cool. They do talks and animal feeding sessions. There's a cafe, gift shop, picnic area, playpark and plenty of parking spaces. Tickets are very reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back.

Little zoo but good to get close to the animals. Cafe food was good. Small park for kids to play. Gift shop was over priced and not much to choose from

Nice wee zoo. Didn't take long to get round it but it was very reasonably priced so didn't matter. If the weather had been better we could have stayed all day if we'd wanted to. But it was freezing and rainy so we just sped round and then had lunch. Had a toastie and it was delicious. Only saw one member of staff who seemed to be holding the fort by being receptionist, ticket sales person, gift-shop assistant, waitress and cafe assistant. She was lovely. Long drive to get here but worth it. There is also a wee play park if you have youngsters with you.

  • 5/5 Jamie P. 6 months ago on Google
Whilst only a small zoo (as expected based on their website etc.) We still spent nearly an hour here, and as we were quite late on a weekday we had the place to ourselves to have a good look around. Enjoyed the Lemur walkthrough and getting close to them, as well as being so close to the Zebras. Bird walk through was a nice area too. Didn't manage to find the armadillo or porcupine as given the weather they were hiding inside in the warmth! Obviously this small, independent family run zoo is relatively new and still building itself up, with a couple of fires as well as COVID not helping, but the animals all looked happy and had plenty of space, so if people continue to support them they'll be able to continue and build on their early success.

  • 5/5 Carol C. 7 months ago on Google
We had a super time here today at this wee gem. We knew when we came 'wee' would be the word but we were happy to support this place. Its an independent run zoo which is self funded. It was a rare treat to go into the lemuar enclosure and get close to them. We didn't go to the cafe this time but will definitely be back again. We wish this place all the best and look forward to see it grow. We went on a weekday in the morning and it was a good time to go. Toilets were immaculate and staff friendly.

Wasn't much there to see. Went around the zoo prob only needed 20 mins instead of the 2 hour slot we booked. However I know that they are just recovering from the fire plus it was reflected in the price. The cafe was lovely and coffee top notch. There is also a wee playpark for the kids.

Visited this "zoo" last week was very disappointed that there was only 4 animal's on show as they were doing something to the "zoo" and closed most of it off this was not mentioned online when purchasing our tickets or by the staff member letting us into the "zoo" so we went to the cafe to get kids lunch and to play in the park menu was very very bland not much on it especially for fussy kids and very over priced Β£5.99 for kids hotdog no chips no juice nothing just a hotdog that tasted awful both kids didn't eat it then we had to wait over an hour for a bbq pizza and when it arrived it was cheese bill was 28 pound something for pizza, 2 kids hot dogs and hot chocolate. Very very overpriced. Wouldn't recommend going here at all wanted to take kids out for the day and was back home by 3pm and that was over an hour away. Seen more animal's on the drive too the "zoo".

Lovely little place. It is a short visit but we enjoyed a nice 45 minutes there this morning. (During covid restrictions) I look forward to seeing how this Zoo grows. Β£13.50 for a family ticket of 2 adults & 2 kids. Which I think is great price wise considering Zoo's aren't cheap to build or operate even small ones. It would be around Β£40-65 at alternative Zoo's.

A great place to take our granddaughter. Although they'd had a fire a few months ago, they're busy repairing and refurbishing but there are still a few animals to see. We saw monkeys, lemurs, meerkats, armadillo, tortoises and a few others. There's also a play area for kids and a good, fairly priced, cafe, I can vouch for the coffee and mocha! We'll definitely be back.

Small zoo park currently being rebuilt after a fire. Only a few animals on view, and a one way system is in operation, but the staff are friendly and welcoming. The cafΓ© has recently reopened, and the whole place is clean and fresh looking.

Very quiet so distancing not an issue. Pleasant staff.

Just had lunch here with my husband who has now admitted that vegetarian & vegan food can be tasty, our burger followed by the cheesecake was amazing, lovely food & relaxed atmosphere looking over the zoo.

Nothing there shouldn't be open, save your 3 pounds and go somewhere else

Only visited the cafe today for a coffee which is available to take out as well as sit in. The cafe is quite large, warm and has views of the park and children's play area it has a variety of foods, snacks and drinks available. The shop has a variety of animal related gifts. There are customer toilets available. Unfortunately due to a recent fire the indoor play area is no longer available, however there are still animals to view. There is a large free carpark on site which can accommodate any size of vehicles from cars to buses.

Great visit today. The lemur walk through is a great new addition. Also the pumpkin hunt for the kids was fab idea. Also ate in the cafe, great selection of vegan food and cakes. Delicious!!

A very small zoo which is still expanding to build more enclosures and bring in more animals and birds. The walk-through lemur enclosure has just opened and is well worth a visit if you like to get up close to the animals!

Did think it would of have been bigger with more animals but it was still great to visit, loved the animals they did have, armadillo was my favourite, in the cafe the homemade pizza were fab, it was all reasonably priced

This Zoo is going to be fantastic when its finished and they have more animals. Cafe was rubbish far to expensive for what they are selling, apart from that the kids really enjoyed it and zoo keepers were friendly and helpful. Is going to be so much better than Edinburgh Zoo

Wasnt many animals and only took 15 mins to see everything, they have to start somewhere though so need to be bringing in money to help with costs. The food menu is all vegan so best take a picnic if that's not your cup of tea

Great value for money. Get to see more animals as it's a smaller venue than Edinburgh zoo. Good cafe.

The new lemur walkthrough and vegan pizza menu are both amazing! We had a walk round before lunch and another after and we saw all the animals they have out and about...first time we've managed that for a while! The lemur walkthrough is worth the entry fee on its own

We had a lovely day out at the zoo. It will be such a great place to visit on its completion. We'll definitely go again. The food in the cafe was delicious. I highly recommend the coconut lime sponge and the toffeenut latte!

Due to the zoo having a fire on site there wasn't much of the enclosures open when we went. You will probably spend about 20 minutes to half an hour there.

Only stopped for a quick bite to eat, so didn't see any of the furry creatures, but lovely to see all the 'good for the planet' eco projects.

Currently small but you can see they are working hard to open the place up to make it bigger. Good value for money and animals are well cared for. Cafe is 100% plant based and food was very tasty. All staff were kind, polite and very informative. Looking forward to visiting again when more enclosures have opened up.
