A 188 mile round trip to get here was definitely worth it. Had a nice afternoon out at Anglesey Sea Zoo yesterday. The aquarium is well laid out, lots of native species to see and learn about, as well as wall displays about the environment, and great displays of decor. A good place to view with or without children. Views outside the aquarium are breathtaking. They have plenty of parking, disabled entrance and disability friendly indoors. Lovely little gift shop. Didn't get to sample the restaurant as it was quite busy. Will definitely return again. Thank you for all your conservation work. Look forward to seeing the expansion when completed.

It's very small but then so are most other aquarium places. It was interesting and saw things hadn't seen before. Tickets are valid for a week so it's good if you get a rough couple days weather but to be honest if you just go the once and you are a family of 6 it's pricey for what it is

Lovely little place to come see some sea life. Great for all ages and entry includes open ticket for 6 days so can come visit how ever many times you like. This feature is perfect for families with small children.

Such a lovely day out. The staff there were so lovely. We were very lucky to get to see some of the fish being fed whilst we were there. It's definitely worth a visit. Also your ticket is valid for a week so you can return if you are staying near by 😊

This is a good attraction for families, or for adults without children. It's a great solution for what to do when the weather's not so great! There are a lot of tanks as you walk around all with very informative boards providing great descriptions. The end walkway with the fish beneath your feet is great and the very large fish tank at the end is amazing. All the tanks in the centre appear to be very clean and the marine animals are very well looked-after. There are so many different exhibits but amongst my own favourites are the jellyfish and the little sea horses. There is a large pool for the rays. A well-stocked gift shop with loads of gift ideas also trinkets and toys for the youngsters. Definitely worth a visit.

Great place to visit with my toddler. Not a huge place but great for his attention span. Lots of informative displays and a fantastic sustainable environmental conscious cafe- the Welsh rarebit was really nice. Lovely outdoor play area which my son loved to play on and there's a free outdoor bouncy castle too.

I have to say that I wasn't expecting much and we stopped in because our original plans got cancelled. However, this is a little gem and is a perfect example of a very small business trying its best to create extra footfall. The zoo on its own is what I expected a small sea zoo to be. The zoo had added a small playground with a mini golf setup. They also put up a large inflatable slide for the children to use for free. It was a great spot for a picnic and a good way to keep my children of 2 and 5 years entertained for a few hours.

After visiting Blue Planet a few weeks ago and being highly disappointed, we decided to give Anglesey Sea Zoo a try, and we were beyond impressed! So much better, the staff are so lovely and informative, and the animals all look really happy, healthy and well cared for! It took us a good 2 hours to walk around the whole place, even with a the new refurbishment taking place, so one less thing to see temporarily! Plenty of activities for people with kids, and plenty for the big kids to enjoy too! We'll definitely be going back again as soon as the refurbishments are done, we loved it! Can't wait to visit again!

Better than I ever expected, has all native marine life and is very interesting. As a scuba diver I found this to be extra fascinating to be able to see what I can find in UK waters such a diverse range of species well worth a visit !!!

Brilliant place! Even whilst incredibly busy during a wet summer holiday day, staff were incredibly friendly and apologetic for how busy it was, even if most people expect waits during summer holidays, there is a little crazy golf course outside £2 child £3 for adults. The bouncy castle was free but wasn't working with the windy wet weather. Well worth a visit!

Nice location with a number of attractions for young and old including cafe, gift shop crazy golf and a bouncy castle. Variety of open pools and tanks containing mainly local fish. Reasonable rates, £8.25 for an adult and a significant 55p discount for OAP's. Visited in September, so slightly out of season meaning a few of the tanks were empty and there were some areas that would of benefited from a wash, but other than that a pleasant few hours. You're able to return anytime within 7 days for free which is a nice touch 😁

Amazing wee place. Wasn't expecting much but spent a few hours wandering around. Kids engaged and enjoyed looking at all the different fish. Staff were excellent- if they overheard a question then they would jump in to answer or give additional information. Nice shop too

Really fantastic experience with such a wide variety of species to see. Staff were really friendly, even lending brolleys to people in our party because of the rain when walking to the zoo. On the tad expensive side, especially the gift shop, but the experience was worth it.

What a great aquarium. I was not expecting much and chose to go on a whim as the weather was awful for any outdoor activities. Great selection of fish. Love the sharks and jellyfish in particular. Our ticket was valid all week as well which was a bonus (although we didn’t use it). We got there early and walked straight in, but by the time we left, the queues were very long.

Lovely, small sea zoo. The ticket purchased lasts the week so you can return and experience it again. Great for younger kids. There is a nice cafe behind the shop aswell as a mini golf course (£3 for Adults, £2 for children - 9 holes), a play park and a free bouncy castle at the front. This wasn't our first visit and it won't be our last

Great to look around me and the kids enjoyed it 😀 was a bit cold inside as the doors where open. There's quite a bit to look at. We especially enjoyed the under water camera one was controlling it as someone was waving, was good fun 😀 the staff are friendly. We also had food in the cafe which was very nice.

Last visited here about 30 years ago!! Some interesting marine life to see. Having some repair/painting work currently done, which is needed as looked rather run down & unloved. Lovely young lady at reception, very helpful. We were only there for about 45 mins, cost £22 for 2 pensioners 🐟🐋🐙

Wonderful little sea zoo. Lots of extras to pay for though so bring your pounds coins! Crazy golf is extra, though lots of stones on the course. There were some fantastic fish and my favourite the sting rays

Lovely staff and a great little place, my 1 year old son had the best time! It's a bonus that you can return as often as you like for upto a week after you have purchased the ticket. The views from the cafe is beautiful, unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side.

Excellent day out with the family, explore marine life with the kids. Gift shop with lot of things to choose. The gift shop is a bit expensive I may say. Bouncy castle for kids free, mini golf for only 2 pounds for kids. Overall great day out.

Great to see native sea life, easy access for disabled, great little quizzes for children as they go round. Careful though as exit is through shop and café! Outside is a play area/mini golf course. Dogs are not allowed in centre, however they do have outside kennels under trees (ask for padlock at desk, no charge) also have dog poop bin and can sit at outside tables of cafe with them. Overall, great place for all ages to learn about the importance of our seas and the life it supports and how we need to Protect it.

Really good for the family. All British sea life there. Open tickets for 6 days. Nice little gift shop and cafe there. Crazy golf and usually a bouncy castle there as well but because of the rain it wasn't up. Some of the tanks fronts were a little steamed up so a tissue to wipe over does the trick. Small fee to do and there is a free play park.

  • 4/5 Georgina 6 months ago on Google
We enjoyed this visit. It takes about an hour to an hour and a half to go round. Part of it is really good but some of it requires a bit of a spruce up - not sure if this is a work in progress. There's a gift shop and some outdoor activities for children. It's worth a visit but sadly not the best aquarium I've been to.

  • 4/5 Angela H. 7 months ago on Google
Went here with my husband and 8yo daughter while visiting Anglesey. Free child ticket with our Kid Pass and discount on my adult ticket with Blue Light Card. Listened to one of the talks/feeding session which was quite good. Had a wander around looking at the tanks. Seeing the spotted catfish shark eggs moving into the pods were really neat. Went again before the end of our holiday for another quick walk around before leaving the island for home.

  • 3/5 E 6 months ago on Google
The aquarium was good but not as a good as other places in the UK for the price we paid today. Some parts did seem a little run down and uncared for. I understand the costs are likely too high and being unable to find the staff won't help with matters but I'm unable to leave a good review purely out of sympathy for the managers and owners. As for the cafe... The coffee wasn't great, which was a shame. I'm not usually fussy about coffee but something wasn't quite right about it. We didn't order any food here, so I can't comment on that. We may return in the future to see if things have improved.

  • 5/5 Beth F. 5 months ago on Google
Very lovely place to visit. It possibly needs a bit more local support to fund some better signage inside, and some general maintenance to the play area. A pleasant surprise was the EV chargers and discount for entry if you have an EV. We'll be back.

  • 5/5 Anthony H. 1 year ago on Google
Fun and informative with lots for the little ones to do including outdoor activities. Highly recommended waiting for the shark and Ray feeding. Don't worry if you miss it though as your ticket is valid for 6 days so you xan squeeze another visit in.

  • 4/5 Pete P. 7 months ago on Google
Visited with my family and we had a great time and ended up walking around twice and having a bite to eat. It's not the biggest place but interesting and the kids enjoyed themselves. No complaints and with a visit.

  • 4/5 Darren C. 10 months ago on Google
An OK sea life zoo. Lots of tanks with various species. Some could do with a clean as the glass gets stained. £12 for adult seems a bit much for the size of place. Shop and small cafe on site.

We really enjoyed the visit to this place. It's really fun for kids. The ticket is valid for 6 days, so you can go back as many times as you want. Free parking at sight.

Lovely trip out while holidaying near by. Remeber coming as a child and now have been back with my own children. A full fun day out, reasonably priced cafe, crazy golf, play area, free bouncy castle. Picnic areas. And your ticket is valid for 6 days after your visit for you to return as many times as you want without paying again. Bargain.

Lovely little aquarium. Lots to see around the tanks and very well laid out. Shark tank was the highlight, although we couldn't really hear the gent giving the talk. Plenty of onsite parking, although in better weather there's probably a lovely walk along the sea front. Nice little cafe too for lunch. Staff clearly care for the fish, we went round twice but the tickets would let us in again this week if we wanted to.

Lovely little zoo. Felt very family oriented. Came when I was little, I'm now 43 and wanted my children to visit. Very much like I remembered, nostalgia at its best. If you're looking for high end, dazzling SeaWorld facilities this isn't the place for you! But if you're looking for a friendly, quirky, family oriented facility with lots of British Ilse sea life this is definitely the place for you. Only downsides were having to wait over half hour in the rain with no shelter and cars coming and going very, very close to us to enter the zoo despite arriving just after 10am and nowhere to sit outside to eat that was sheltered.

Interesting place to visit and they do lobster conservation work. Lots of fish tanks and exhibits. Good documentation supporting each tank also the family area looked good with things to do. Quizzes and I spy sheets available to make it interesting for the younger children. I was a single traveller and found the Aquarium interesting.

  • 5/5 Duncan J. 7 months ago on Google
First ever visit to Anglesey sea aquarium. Personally, I thought it was brilliant, everything inside is native to UK waters so if your expecting clown fish and lots of colourful species then you won't find it here. Really well set out, and some species I never knew could be found in UK. The conservation area is a brilliant touch so you can see lobsters breeding, shark eggs etc. Conservation is very close to my heart and I was delighted to see this. £22 for an adult and a child is very good value and you can return for a further 6 days for free. Took around an hour to get around. Only downside is the giftshop, they clearly have cash flow and staff problems.

  • 5/5 Carol B. 2 years ago on Google
This place is the best aquarium l have been to. You pay once and can re use your tickets for 6 days, the tanks and pools well stocked and well kept. They do their bit for conservation to

We had a lovely morning at the sea zoo, there were lots of informative signs on the tanks, we enjoyed learning lots of new facts, we attended over the summer holidays so it was a little busy as to be expected but there were good social distancing plans in place, and free bouncing castle was a win for our little boy!!

  • 3/5 Justin M. 2 years ago on Google
I understand that these places have to feed and support their businesses. But the prices are a bit steep for basically a 15min walk round .the tanks seemed to be empty of creatures from the deep.

  • 3/5 Mark A. 2 years ago on Google
We queued with hundreds to get in on a wet Welsh day and this made it difficult to stand and look at everything. Seahorses etc great but place looks a bit run down and some of the tanks looked dirty and difficult to see anything. My granddaughter ended up with some kind of black sludge all over her hands at the octopus tank which was weird. I think it was sealant!. Worth a visit but not on a busy wet day.

  • 3/5 Joanna B. 2 years ago on Google
The highlight - the sea forest - was closed, so it was a bit of a disappointing visit. They could have told us this before we bought the tickets. Lovely seahorses.

  • 3/5 Marie H. 2 years ago on Google
Visited here today for the first time with my Husband. The exhibits that where out where fascinating. I enjoyed the cuttle fish.. the wave machine was fun. Positives. Disable friendly.. good for children..informative notices by each tank..free parking. Loved the ship effect display. The carp display outside was fun.Quaint gift shop. Fair price for an hour or two not really a day out. Negatives. Quite a dated building could do with a bit of tlc. Some tanks need a clean.. could feel confined when busy. Not very well signposted from the Britannia Bridge. The staff..the ones we saw where friendly.

Lovely independent sea zoo. A lot of effort had gone into the animals which is evident and could see upgrades being done on some habitats. Loved the walkway above the sharks so could see underneath. Very family oriented and great for kids

In one word amazing. What a lovely little gem. So happy we went. Say hello to the lobsters in the entrance great way to start they underwater journey. We also finished off with a round of 9 hole golf after, such a fun day. Recommended going. Would be perfect for a first date. Or even as I did a 1 year anniversary. Thanks guys

Very good Sea Zoo. This was my third visit and parts of the zoo are a little bit shabby and could do with updating now. Also maybe expanding to make it a more immersive experience

  • 4/5 Melanie R. 2 years ago on Google
We had a great trip here with our 6 month old. The place is suitable to take a pram, but we took him in the sling. It took us 1 hour 15 to amble round, but some families were moving faster than we were. We really enjoyed it - some really interesting sea creatures on display and lots of information about them available. The crashing wave and the floor to ceiling panoramic tank were our favourites of the day. The shipwreck room was really creatively decorated. The toilets are dated and there is a changing mat available on one of the worktops. A cafe and a gift shop at the end are a good addition, but we didn't use either. Overall, we'd recommend here, but if there was more of it or if they expanded, it would be even better.

  • 2/5 Lia Jane O. 2 years ago on Google
I'm sorry. But we was very disappointed. It was packed which for Covid restrictions was terrible. Definitely no keeping 2metres away. Weather was awful so that meant wet floors inside. No slip signs anywhere. I don't know if it's because we have a fantastic aquarium The Deep in Hull that our expectations of this one wasn't met. Would be great if they could maybe get inspiration from ours and rebuild.

  • 5/5 PE I. 2 years ago on Google
Nicely designed aquaria with very informative posters. They're doing great work with the lobster hatchery and seahorse breeding programme. Nice staff and a good gift shop. I didn't go to the cafe, so unfortunately can't comment on that. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours.

It's OK, not much there and we were in and out quite quickly kids enjoyed it. The cafe menu was pretty basic so we ended up going elsewhere for food. Perfect to kill a few hours but you won't be blown away by anything

  • 4/5 madeline g. 2 years ago on Google
My 7 year old son absolutely loved this experience - worth the drive and definitely worth the money! We are still talking about it and this has given him a much better awareness of marine life and conservation. My only concern is the amount of plastic products and packaging in the gift shop. This is a very contradictory message about plastic pollution that the zoo claims to care about. So if they could offer some more eco-friendly options for gifts that would be great.
