Tranquil base in the midst of the Covid madness. Friendly members observing social distancing but it is all outdoors (bar obviously closed) & in the fresh air! Lots of wildlife!

Cardiff bay is a great place to sail with a huge variety of boats to offer to members! The food is great but do take caution as they have a food rating of 2, hence the 3 stars. Overall they have great coaches and membership opportunities but I wouldn’t recommend eating there.

Fabulous Sailing Club, about to have a major expansion to include sundeck. Very welcoming of visitors whether by sea or land, great bar and food, everyone is so lovely, just like most sailing clubs, though this is a Yacht Club, they are not snotty yachty, very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

Good facilities, friendly club. Food is unbelievably great value for money. Fantastic for viewing any sailing inside the bay. Parking can be busy. A little tricky to find first time, at night.

Great place to moor when visiting the bay. The visitors berths are close to the clubhouse, with water available. Lovely staff in the yard and clubhouse...nothing was too much for them. Clean clubhouse with great views over the bay towards the barrage. Large shower area, with plentiful hot water. Since writing my review I have joined the club and am delighted to say that my comments about the staff are magnified...the bar and restaurant are excellent, with well presented and plentiful food available. The bar is well run and there is a good variety of drinks available. Outside the clubhouse is a good sized and well maintained carpark. One thing I've yet to mention is the fantastic view from the bar out over Cardiff Bay from Penarth and past the Barrier around to Cardiff. I've attached a video. The club is vibrant with a pleasant businesslike buzz and lots to interest everyone. For he sailor, there is the pleasure of having the availability of the Bay with its constant level of water if you just want to have a gentle sail, or out through the barrier into the channel for something more adventurous.

We performed here recently for a private function and would highly recommend the venue! Large function space perfect for any occasion, good stage area for bands or performers, a well stocked bar with helpful and friendly staff! We hope to return soon to perform here again! 10/10 from The Trends Party Band

The negativity in this review is primarily aimed at the training school and its management. The food was well priced and the bar has nice views of the bay. The vegetarian option could have been better but they were present. The training school however has been incredibly lacking. Mainly down to their communication and management. My partner and I went on the 2 day level 2 sailing course. A brief run down of the events -The head instructor Richard didn't show up to work - leaving the 2 very young instructors to essentially babysit us whilst he found a way into work. He claimed car troubles but the previous evening 2 large local sports events were on and I suspect his car troubles were he was still too drunk to drive it. - eventually we were told we couldn't go out on the water due to changing weather. meaning we couldn't finish our certificate. Out of the schools control but this changing weather was noticed hours before we were dismissed and the young instructors didn't have the authority to send us away before the senior instructor arrived. -Richard promised us we could get it all sorted on an adults Saturday club which would be provided free of charge. Failing that he offered my partner a discount on the keel boat sailing course which she thought would suit her more than the dingy. After weeks now to trying to organise either this course or the Saturday club make up we have both been left in the lurch. Awaiting emails from Richard or his team. The service has been dire and this is entirely down to the management. The young instructors were as helpful as they could be but were obviously being exploited by the school because they love sailing. The aforementioned Richard seems to at the middle of these failings. I would hope the RYA audit the school.
