I've been coming to JD for over 8 years and absolutely LOVE Mitchell James Salon! Growing up, both of my parents were in the hair biz & they told me I'd never have long hair since mine was baby fine & poker straight. In the 1st appointment, JD taught me more about my hair than my parents did. Now my hair is long, full, healthy & stylish. Going to see JD like going to a spa. Georgia, the shampoo lady gives a great scalp massage & everyone is knowledgeable & helpful. I will NEVER go anywhere else. If you haven't been happy with your stylist GO SEE JD!

Mitchell James Salon is wonderful. I love the peaceful atmosphere that you don't find in other salons. They offer a great selection of really fine hair products. James is an expert at knowing what looks good on you (and what doesn't) and always cuts hair for the easiest wash and wear styling. As an extra, they are located in a very cool part of Saint Louis. I recently visited this amazing hair salon and I have nothing but great things to say about my experience. From start to finish, the staff made me feel welcomed and valued as a client. The haircut was done with a straight razor and it was one of the best haircuts I've ever received. The precision and attention to detail was impressive, and I left the salon feeling like a new person. James took the time to understand my hair type and what I wanted, and he delivered exactly what I asked for. In addition, I appreciated that the salon offered a range of hair color options, including conservative choices. I wanted to freshen up my look without making a drastic change, and the stylist suggested a beautiful, natural-looking hair color that suited me perfectly. Overall, I highly recommend Mitchell James Salon. The staff is talented and attentive, and they truly care about their clients. This was my first time going to Mitchell James Salon. I have to say it was an amazing experience. I had called multiple hair salons close to me and they had told me they did not do hair perms and that was a shock to me. When I called Mitchell James Salon they fit me in ASAP for a perm appointment. The place was very neat and clean. It was a relaxing environment. James was my stylist and he was on time, polite and very professional. He had my hair cut and permed quickly and the outcome was wonderful. I would highly recommend Mitchell James Salon to anyone.

Mitchell James is a fantastic salon. James always takes his time to work with you and make recommendations on how to get your hair exactly like you like it. I really appreciate his expertise and knowledge and value the confidence that I will be able to leave the salon with great hair 100% of the time. Amy is an amazing nail technician! I have been going to Amy for about 2 years now and I always trust her with my nails! She takes her time and does a thorough job. Highly recommend if you are in the Brentwood/Clayton area!

I love this salon, and I look forward to my appointments here. James, my stylist, a master designer, is always very accommodating, on each and every visit. I am always very happy with my service when I leave. His new salon is smaller, but James and the other stylists, all have their own space, which makes it more intimate. More time and attention is spent with clients. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Prices are fair and they may vary depending on each stylist experience.

James did an excellent job working with my daughter. When the result was good but not exactly right the first time, he offered to bring her back and do an adjustment to make it an excellent result. More important than the hair was the interaction. He was very thorough, talked through his thoughts, wanted her input and made it comfortable for her to talk with a professional without feeling nervous or self conscious. He was open to her thoughts and the whole interaction could have been intimidating as he is so good at his process but he made it so warm and fun!

I’ve been coming to James for years. Me and my mom both LOVE the way James does our blonde and I see James every time I’m back home from college. James is the absolute best and a great bonus he is the easiest person to talk to throughout the appointment!

I came into the salon about a week ago and tried to book an appointment with James Mitchell. I was greeted by a blonde heavier set lady and she was very rude and made me feel discriminated against. I’ve never felt so offended. You should absolutely not support such a disrespectful establishment.

James is by far the best in the business! His chic styles and cutting edge coloring never disappoint! James isn’t only a master of his craft, he has a heart of gold, gives back to our STL community, and donates abroad! You’re in for a real treat with this one- and he will ALWAYS leave you laughing.
