This location is stunning. From the moment you walk in down the hallway with windows into the brewery and greenery everywhere, to the private event space which is rustic and intimate, we fell in love. As a local balloon company, we have had the opportunity to decorate the private room on more than one occasion and we love how the backdrop of the venue brought our decor to life as well. Their palette wall created the perfect backdrop for our garland as well.

The brewery has ample parking, unique beers and great food. I recommend the portobello toasted raviolis followed by the sweet potato nachos! The happy hours are also great during the week. The cheeseburger is a MUST. As far as beers go, the porters are tasty and dark. The regular Porter and Raspberry Porters are my go-tos. If you don’t have to drive, try the Spooky Scary Porter. Stay away from the seltzers, they are not as bubbly. The space is great. You could have an event here. The art is great and the beer hall has sound panels so you can hear the people at your table on busy nights. 5/5 every time.

Spacious, casual space with counter service. Pretty good food options, and the food was fresh and fast.

Wanted to take a nice Sunday drive up the Great River Road, but before heading on our adventure we were looking for a place to have a bite to eat, so we stopped here and I’m glad we did. Food was amazing! Ambiance was unique; the employees super friendly and laid back. The restaurant is housed in an old commercial bakery building where they preserved the industrial feel and kept a lot of the old factory fixtures. They have an event space next too the dining room, which had an event in progress or i would have taken some photos of it. The food was excellent-my spouse and i shared the pretzels, which came with beer cheese, the whole grain mustard was really good, but if your not a fan of horseradish, which i am not, it was a bit over powering. I had the β€œcoop special” sandwich with a salad and the sandwich was awesome. The sourdough was grilled to perfection and it was stacked with lots of meat and cheese. Would highly recommend.

Stopped to look at the lock and dam museum and asked an employee where a good place was to grab a bite to eat. They suggested this place, and I'm so glad they did. I had the chicken sandwich, and my husband had the burger. There is quite a bit of history displayed in the building. The building was clean, the food was great, and the people were awesome. We loved the atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Old Bakery Beer Company caught my eye because of the vegan food options. The atmosphere is very chill with ample seating and space to hang out. There are games you can grab near the entrance to the dining area or you could always bring your own The menu has a great variety so you shouldn't have any trouble finding something you enjoy. Drinks are good - non alcoholic drinks are also available.

Have been by this place several times and finally decided to stop in. Glad I did. On entrance, you walk down a long hallway past the brewing operation. That leads to a room with history about the building and bread company that once was there. Then you enter the main drinking and eating area. Very casual, kinda "hip" ( my jeans weren't skinny enough). I ordered the bacon jam burger, fries and an English pale ale. It was all spot on. Would definitely go there again and I could see where the place would be packed on the weekend. Staff did their job but not overly friendly. Will definitely be back with friends

Super neat building with excellent food and beer! Loved the atmosphere of this neat brewery. Laid back and relaxed with a cool vibe. All the beer we had was excellent! Made. On site, seasonal beers with an excellent selection of lagers and stouts. The food was all excellent with an excellent variety with vegan options. Very accommodating of my food allergy!! We all left stuffed. Can't wait to go back!!

The building is really cool. You can peek into the brewing area and they have plenty of seating in the main room and some seating outside. They have a decent selection of beers and from what I hear they have an amazing selection of vegan food. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

This is definitely a hidden gem in Alton. The beer is great, the blueberry cream ale in particular was amazing, and the food selection is also very good. I went with the BLT and was not disappointed. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely plan on coming back.

Very cool building and atmosphere. We got the vegan buffalo cauliflower wrap and impossible burger and both were fantastic - particularly surprised by the impossible burger since they're often bland and over-priced, but OBBC over-delivered on both entrees (and fries!). The beer and drinks were also great. Definitely coming back.

We loved that the restaurant was located in the old Colonial Bread Factory. It is a really neat spot with plenty of seating. The atmosphere was fun! You grab a menu when you enter the restaurant, pick your table and go get in line to order your food. They bring you your food when it is ready. The food was very good but we didn't feel like the servers seemed interested in helping us very much which was disappointing since we really enjoyed everything else about the restaurant. I found this information on The Old Bakery Beer Company website. The Old Bakery Beer Company was born in early 2015 after we were introduced to the beautiful old Colonial Bakery building in downtown Alton, IL. Part of the building started its life as a bakery in the late 1800's. After a fire in 1929 and a series of remodels, additions, and changes in ownership, the building remained a bakery until the early 1980's when it shut down. We have tried our best to keep the building's history alive, and our name is just a small piece of that endeavor.

Love Animals? Love Beer? If you said yes to either, this is the place for you! They have great atmosphere, great vegan food (thank you!), great vegitarian food, and great service (thank you, Emily!)! This Brewery is a rare and wonderful must visit. If you live in Alton, you already know. If you are passing through, this should be first and last (go twice) on your list.

live in St. Louis but I took a little drive to Alton to visit this awesome place for their Non-alcoholic cocktails OR their beer both are thirst-quenching. Not only are the drinks good- but the food is delicious as well. This is a great place for lunch, dinner, or a drink or two!

Finally came through Alton at a time we could stop by and try Old Bakery. My husband was most excited about an English style ESB and I was pleasantly surprised by their lemon lime seltzer. Thursdays are pizza nights and they have unique specials and can pretty much make up any other flavor you want. Tonight we had one with Gouda, bacon, apples and balsamic vinegar. The main parking is opposite of the bar, so you get a surprise tour just walking through! We’ll be back for sure.

My fiancΓ©e and I went Thursday night. It was so quaint. He loved the beer variety. We definitely recommend getting flights of the beer to try lots of their awesome selection! The buffalo chicken dip could have been spicier(but we love hot) however the flavor is amazing! The house salads were also great!!!

Really kool old building turned brewery. The staff was incredibly friendly. Grab a menu, a table of your choice and relax. Food was spectacular. Their house dressing was amazing. As was The Murray sandwich. They have a great selection of beer also. Will definitely be coming back.

Great gose, great food, fun place! Historic building, amazing vegan options and staff was all so kind! The gift vending machine in the hall was so fun too. Did some shopping :) Additionally important to us- they had really sustainable to go container (paperboard, not plastic or styrofoam) and seem really ecologically conscientious. Definitely recommend!

Good craft beers brewed in-house. I’ve been twice and the chili and chicken wings are good. Very casual self serve with waiting service after the initial order. The menu changes by the day of the week with daily specials such as pizza on Thursdays and fish on Fridays. The building is an old Colonial Bread bakery. A roomy space with a lot of character.
