First time for my husband and I at the pub and I must say it was a pleasant experience. The waitor was excellent with helping my husband figure out what he wanted to drink and the food was delicious. They had a live musician outside under a dining tent and she was great inspite of how hot it was outside. Definitely will go back again.

If I could select a negative number of stars, I would. I went to this bar on St. Patrick’s Day thinking, hey, no better place than an Irish Pub to enjoy a Guinness on St. Pat’s. I was so wrong. We arrived at the bar at about 9:45, they closed at 11 that night. I was with a friend who was visiting me from Arizona, a land where State IDs and Drivers Licenses don’t expire for decades. The waitress finally got to us after about 30 minutes. She told us they were at last call, and proceeded to card us, which is expected at a bar. She looked at my friend’s ID, and told her ‘no, I can’t accept this’ merely because that employee hadn’t seen an Arizona license before. My friend offered up her passport as a second form of ID, because this does occasionally happen. However, the waitress refused the second form of ID, refused to check my Drivers License, and proceeded to kick us out of the bar very aggressively, yelling at us that we needed to leave, and that my friend looks about 15. Don’t go here if you want even moderately decent service.

Great atmosphere, wonderful people, delicious food, and awesome drinks. It is our second home and we absolutely love it here. I recommend trying the Irish coffee (with skrewball instead of Jameson if you have a sweet tooth), the Dublin chicken sandwich, and their bread pudding is fantastic!

Very chill and cozy pub in Alton. Super friendly staff and killer beer on tap. Great potato pancakes and pretty good burger. Not a ton of room for people wanting to eat and definitely a pretty small bar, but for the size it is wonderful. Traditional Irish music playing, too.

Took 55 minutes to get our food. Kept seeing cook just sitting around even after our order had been taken. The bartender is very personable and the pub has a great atmosphere. But waiting that long after order was taken, really downed the experience.

Nothing bad about this place. Amazing Irish food with large portions & very reasonable prices. Locals come in on Thursdays to sing sea shanties from 6-9 & love it when other people join in. They have other musical acts the rest of the weekend. Mary, the owner, is incredibly friendly & great at making drinks. I suggest going in for breakfast to get one of her Bloody Marys. The staff really makes you feel like family while you're there.

I can't say enough great things about this pub. Great atmosphere to have a fun time, enjoy some live Irish music. The food is fantastic with lots of real Irish dishes all made in house. We've tried a few other "Irish" pubs in the St. Louis area, none compared to Morrison's.

What a surprise! We had dinner outside while a group of shanty singers did a great job of entertaining. The guinness and smithwicks were a nice change of pace from the land of Bud. Irish whiskey selection is quite impressive, including some very rare options. I can't wait to return!

Food was good, atmosphere was pretty spot on down to the saturday night entertainment singing irish pub songs. But it was super cold in there. we were near the front and the Cold coming off the single pane windows made me cold, and I don't get cold in general.

What a charming pub with a neighborhood vibe. We were there for lunch, so can't comment on their live music at night. We slobbered over everything on the menu (e.g., bubble and squeak; bangers and mash; cottage pie), but settled on the half-pound burgers. Both were juicy delights. Mine had cheddar and grilled onions; his was on brown bread with horseradish and fried cabbage. We left smiling, eager to return.

First time here. The service was great. I had the grilled cheese, and it was FANTASTIC!!! Hubby had the corned beef sandwich and said it was great also. Everyone in our group said their food was wonderful. The atmosphere was incredible too. Will definitely go back!!

I've had a great time during each visit at Morrison's! I haven't had the benefit of traveling to Ireland myself, but the atmosphere feels authentic. The frequent live music adds to the fun!

We met some strangers on the sidewalk who suggested we go to Morrison's for a breakfast shot. This is butterscotch Jameson with a side of OJ and they serve it with Irish bacon. It was delicious. Glad we followed some strangers into a bar to try this.

Think this is a "one and done" visit. Read reviews and saw location on our travels. Inside seating was tight and honestly, the interior smelled like a damp basement-possibly the location near riverfront) Opted to dine outside under tent. Table wasn't the cleanest (and noise level from traffic echoing off of grain elevator wasn't great, but not their fault.) Service was okay. Server was apologizing to every patron for being the only one working, both inside and outside. -Certainly not her fault, she did the best she could. Ordered corned beef sandwich, side of parsnips and received a bag of Guiness potato chips. Sandwich was lukewarm, the horseradish sauce was ice cold, but the parsnips were the best part of the meal. Presentation in dollar-store paper plates and bowls leaves something to be desired. Perhaps a good choice for some, but didn't see or taste anything that would make me want to return. A good concept that either hasn't quite hit the mark yet, or the owners are no longer concerned with the quality details that could take this place from mediocre to very good.

Literally the comfiest bar you'll find in Alton. Great staff, great food, and live shanty night on Thursdays (if you don't like a loud volume or a lovely atmosphere I would not recommend coming on Thursdays). Personal faves: - pear cider - snake bite drink - their booze slush (I forget the name) - grilled cheese - bacon cheeseburger - cottage pie (warmer months) - battered cod - bangers & mash - parsnips - Mac and cheese They have rotating specials so you want to check their Facebook for more info weekly. The only thing that could make me love them more is if they served french fries or a cesar salad.

Stopped in while visiting out of town for a beer but couldn’t resist ordering a Shepard pie. The pie was great but you could taste the metal from the cast iron Dutch oven it was served in. This wasn’t horrible but took away from the flavor. They have a good selection of Irish beers, glad we stopped, it’s an old time river bar for sure.

Absolutely love this place. I had the lamb burger, medium. The goat cheese was delicious. Wasn't blown away by the burger overall... Just felt like it was missing something. Overall, still wonderful, I won't stop eating there until I've tried everything.

Beer Cheese Burger was good, and I had a Snake Bite as my beverage which was also very good. Fun and small little Irish pub.

On Google, it says the kitchen is open until 8 pm on Sundays. We drove an hour to Alton for a fine Irish meal and spirits, only to learn when we sat down at 7:10 pm that kitchen was already closed. Please change the hours on Google to agree with your actual hours!

I was looking for somewhere to go for my birthday that was fun and took a chance on Morrison's Irish Pub. I'm so glad I did. The food was wonderful, our server was incredibly nice, and the atmosphere was lively. The pub is small & cozy with lots of Irish mementos. We were lucky enough to be there when they had a band performing & we were blown away. The band was fantastic and so funny. Wonderful place that will put a smile on your face.

So so food, but great on tap beer selection. If you are there with the Irish singers, you won't be able to hear yourselves talk at your table. Way too loud and too much for this small pub.

We arrived after two in the afternoon. It was a busy place. After placing our food order we were told it would take a little longer than usual. Over an hour later we were served our food and one of the meals was incorrect. When that was pointed out, it was corrected fairly quickly. Our server was kind and apologetic. I had the lamb burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. The setting was pleasant. This was our first time here. I'm glad we were not in a hurry. I don't feel a need to hurry back.

First time here as we were visiting Alton that weekend for the ghost conference that was in town. My mother and I absolutely loved everything that we ate. The potato Pancakes were so mouth watering to me and the horseradish sauce was excellent. But what got me the most was the corned beef. The flavor was absolutely delicious. I've never had a corned beef like I've tasted at Morrison's. The spices they use were phenomenal. I wish I could get the recipe for the corned beef! The only reason I'm giving it a 3 star rating is because our service was extremely slow. Took the waitress 15min just to come and take our drink order, then another 10min before we got our drinks, 20 min later she asks us for the food order, took 30min to bring the food out and then finally after eating to receive bill the wait was on again as it took her 10min just to finally grab the receipt and means of payment to have to wait another 10min to get it back and sign the receipt paper and get out of there. So the food is definitely a 5 STARS but 3 STARS for the unnecessary slow service.

(Weekly, Thursdays) - 10 out of 5 This is my local spot. I am here every Thursday for their sea shanty night, which is a blast. The bartender and the waitress are a hoot, the food is excellent if you're looking for traditional Irish eats, and the regulars on Thursday are sure to have you entertained with traditional Irish music and songs of the sea. I definitely recommend stopping by to check this out.

Their Bubble and Squeak was absolutely delicious! This is a family owned pub and they use their Grandma's own recipe! The waitress was so kind and genuine. The food was reasonably priced as well
