A great typical Czech place. They have a really good selection of traditional food. We love to have friend cheese in Czechia, here they also have fried tvaruzky (the stinky little cheese from Olomouc - would really recommend it but it is really aromatic). The portion sizes were very generous. Great service, very fast and the staff were very friendly. They also have a very pretty wooden bar and one beautiful portrait on the wall. You can pay with a card.

Great food with excellent service. Also they permitted to dine with a dog so that’s also a big plus 🥳

Cozy traditional Urquell Pub. Typical Czech food is offered in the menu. Pilsner beer is simply fresh and perfect. Atmosphere is informal and the staff is super friendly. I will come back.

The oldest pub in the centre of Ostrava and obe of the best Pilsner Beer. The food is traditional and nice. The staff is very friendly. Book the table in advance otherwise it may happen that pub is full.

Juicy duck, delicious local beer. Best to book a table in advance. It was hard to get a table and probably because of the language the staff was a bit rude. Worth a visit if you have a reserved table!

This is a pub that also serves food. The staff members speak English too. The pork ribs are delicious and cost 160 CZK. It is a big portion! Vegetarian dishes are available. For example we were served a cheese trio dish, where there were three kinds of fried cheeses. Generally the staff looks friendly, but I personally did not like the reaction of one waiter: he gave us the bill and left us checking it (this is ok), and, when he came back, I asked if I could pay by card. He grumbled and shaked his head as showing he was pissed off by this, and he went back to take the card reader. I do not know if this was a form of joke or being funny, but it was not polite. Food 4/5 Service 3/5

It was my first time visiting the restaurant in Ostrava city centre. Offering the nice dishes I ever got as the Czech culture and good beers in the place. Highly recommended! 👍🏼

An excellent local restaurant. The draft beer (Pilsener Urquell) tastes fresh and the food is also delicious. I had smoked rips and the cheese soup. The soup is not at all smelly, it rather has a very unique good smell. The menu translation into English scares off a bit, but I was happy to taste it. There is cheese and smoked ham inside - an absolute joy to eat with bread croutons/crums. By the way, the red chili on the picture are not hot, only salty. In my case I like that. My colleague had the dumpling with pumpkin sauce ans sweet cream. She liked it. A good place for a beer, worth a second visit.

Fantastic traditional Czech pub. The food was excellent. We went twice while we were in Ostrava. Super cheap food, very nice portions, tasted like home cooked meals

I ate twice here during my stay in Ostrava and it was really good. The servers are able to speak in English which is a plus and the draft beer was also the best. I wasn’t able to take a photo of my food but highly recommended!

All good except the waitress. All food and atmosphere were impeccable. But when paying, I was about to tap my card on the card reeder and the waitress rudely said, “tip”. It wasn’t like “tipping would be grateful or I’d appreciate some tip” but saying just “tip” with a smirky face. Very offended by the tone but anyway told her to include tip which was around 5% because I didn’t want my great time with my company to be ruined. But after she glancing the receipt, she input more tips in the reeder. It was just a speechless situation. She wasn’t our even main waitress. Our food and drinks were served by her and her another colleague repeatedly. And is here the US that tipping is a must specially when you aren’t our designated waitress? Please do not ruin customer’s lovely time to get like 50czk in your pocket. Or be decent when asking tips.

The fact that barmen spares the whiskey and pour half of the promised 40ml a bit disappointed. The rest was great.. except.. so 2 stars, no more, sorry. please don’t do this again.

Very good food, with a balanced amount of garlic. Friendly service, affordable prices. A place worth recommending. PS. Place with menu prepared for IHWC 2020.

Regardless of the Google Maps information of opening hours till 23:30 and website information about midnight, the place was closed slightly after 22. So any effort to get there were a waste of time. Super disappointed.

👍 Although Coloseum is a chain, I keep a warm spot in my heart for the one in Nova Karolina. The excellent staff, the atmosphere, and the delicious and always fresh dishes are just right! I’ve been there enough to know a few staff members by name, which only upgraded my experience. It’s always lovely...
