Tours are 1 or 2 hours. 1 hr is above ground only and covers mining rescue. 2 hr tour has an add on to the underground mine shafts. Tours in Czech only but mp3 available at cost in English German and Polish. Total for 2 hr tour with mp3 ckr 190. Hats are provided for underground as the ceiling or beams get low at times. Drive all the way up to the free parking lot. Cc accepted.

Very good experience! Unfortunately, the guide did not speak English. However, he tried bis best to explain :) Tours take 1 to 2 hours and you need a guide.

I had a superior host for the tour I took in which I visited Mining Museum Landek Park, Historical Tatra Cars Tours of Ostrava offers an A+ tour experience while being transported in vintage cars from the early 1900s. I mean, how cool is this?! Special thanks to Jiri Simon of OstravaInfo!!! for a dynamic informative tour.

Worth a visit but unfortunately only tours in Czech language. The offered audioguide-app for smartphone is not really an alternative.

We had a wonderful time at the guided mining tour yesterday. There was so much to do and we especially enjoyed the guided tour of the mine itself. Our guide Vladimir was absolutely amazing, he’s made the tour very educational and entertaining. Fantastic experience. We’d definitely go back!

Fantastic place to learn about mining history. Suitable for families and small kids. Lots of equipment you can touch and try.

Briliant place to go for excursion or just to see free exhibition outside. The big tour - mining part - gives you imagination about getting coal in region. Unfortunately tours are only in Czech. You can take audioguide which is stupid. Guides are exminers and sometimes they go that deep that even locals don't understand. But don't worry about details and enjoy this tour. Personally I like this one more than on steel factory / bolt tower.

Some of the excursion was boring, the kids were scared to go down to the mine. Had to wait a couple of times for the next part of the tour.

Extremely interesting to see and have a notion of the hard and dangerous work at these mines... Presented with passion by a former security agent. Worth a visit.

Could have been worth the visit, but they don’t have english tours and the translation application is only for android phones

Muzeum in real setting. It does not any closer to the real thing. Very knowledgeable guides. Even my 76 years old mother enjoyed it.

Going down the pit was interesting but the tour is not suited for non czech speakers as it will be quite annoying to not understand the many anecdotes of the guide.

Guided tour (guide required) of formerly operating coalmine

Poor exhibition of mining rescue. Visit underground better, but still you are 6 m below ground , so it's not realistic experience but kind of recreation of environment of hard work of miners.

Nice few hours spent outdoors. The museum is for bigger kids and czech speakers. Still worth it to go for a little train ride

I didn't know how the pictures are not saved in my mobile. In general this place have great trails to walk, and have some amazing views of ostrava. You should be a native speaker of czech language to discuss that things with the tour guide, I prefer if they have a tour guide which speaks English fluently so he or she can helps the visitors.

The museum seems interesting, but the guide knew no English whatsoever, and the audio guide is too technical to understand. Not for non-Polish speakers.

Nice museum but not informative. Staff do not speak English and the audio guide is not helpful either. Might be better to visit with someone who can translate czech.

👍 Great for kids, in hot day there is air-condition. But i am not sure why parents need to pay entry fee.
