Amazing place to visit, rich of resources and have a wide range of experience and famous museum.

Very rich and beautiful collection of minerals and fossils from the coal mines. High quality biology specimens (fungi, animals and plants) presented in a friendly and interactive setup both for adults and kids. Nice collection of clocks. During our visit (22/08/2021) we were greeted by a young guide who gave us a very knowledgeable tour in English on the history, heritage and culture of Ostrava.

Big geological exhibition, exhibition of local flora and fauna - kids friendly - you can hear the sounds that birds make and there are also interactive screens installed which with information. The other part of exhibition is dedicated to Ostrava history including coal mining industry, culture and more. Many photos and objects of that time. Could definitely recommend for 1,5-2 exploration. Museum is located in a beautiful building right on the central square, so it's easy to get some coffee and snack after wondering around museum. Walk distance from Ostrava- střed station if you come by train.

Nice little museum outlining history of Ostrava and its industry. There are also some fossil exhibits found in the mines. Overall good place to spend couple hours at. The only downside is that the admission is cash only.
