Very nice monument to visit if you are into historical artifacts. It finished construction in 1980. The outside monument is free to visit, when the weather is good you can setup a nice picnic there. There is a inside museum nearby for around 60-100 czk entrance fee, that shows more about the history of the museum and WWII. The only minus is the lack of variety in the food store on site.

Really good museum of second world war and the history of the local area. It's worth of buying the English print as it has a lot of interesting information on it.

There's a big story to tell but it's not told very well. No written information in English. Some interesting exhibits but often not really put into any context. There are guns and vehicles outside but no useful information about them (apart from their weight) - not even which side used them. If they were used during the Opava-Ostrava campaign, some photos of them in action would make a real difference.

All the information is in Czech, at the beginning there are few things in English but the 95% of the museum is only in Czech. Looks like a very good museum but I didn't understand the majority of the information

Today I had a pleasure to visit this place. Great museum covers a lot of facts and events of the WW2. Great explanation of events during the WW2, before and after. A lot of photos, video files, and exponents. Really would recommend for anyone to come. Not only do you get given information about the whole war, but you also get specific information on the events in czechia and specifically in ostrava and some photos, videos, and exhibitis. You can tell by the very helpful and passionate person who runs the museum how much passion and thought they have put to make this a very interactive, informative, and somewhat unique experience. Got nothing else to add. I hope it somehow might expand and add more to it if possible. Will definitely visit sometime in the future and if you gettting here by car there is a parking nearby.
