A dinner at Restauracja Widnokrąg is an experience where history and culinary ambition converge. The restaurant’s atmosphere is steeped in the spirit of Sandomierz, and the food presentation is a testament to their creative aspirations. Most of the dishes I tried were delightful, save for the seasonal goose which was overcooked and lacked the succulence one would anticipate. The concern I raised about the goose was met with well-meaning but ineffectual service. The chef did not come forth to discuss the culinary misstep, and the management’s delayed response suggested a misinterpretation of my intent. Offers of liqueur, coffee, and even a tour to observe the cooking process felt like attempts to compensate for what was perceived as a desire for discounts or freebies. However, my primary expectation was for the quality of the dish to match the standards set by the rest of the menu and for the restaurant to acknowledge the shortfall. The reluctance to admit and address the shortcoming in the meal was disheartening. It overshadowed the otherwise enjoyable dishes and the rich ambiance of the restaurant. Acknowledging when a dish does not meet a customer’s expectation is as vital to the dining experience as the flavor itself. I hope that in the future, Restauracja Widnokrąg will not only deliver exceptional meals but also meet their guests’ feedback with open-mindedness and genuine customer care.

Cheesecake is special, first time I taste such composition - worth to try. the interior looks modern, embedded in 12th century rocks. Overall I felt calm, chilling climate. Kind, smiling service. An extraordinary experience! Everything felt perfect, notably the location, the room, the service, and the food. The breakfasts were out of this world, I've never had anything like them before. Highly recommended!

We've been here only for deserts and cocktails. Both were perfect!

Cozy place just off the main square. Lovely terrace, attentive staff, unusually for Poland good range of wines incl some local ones the white we had was unusual but very palatable. Lunch offering very, very limited, couple of soups, couple of salads and to my recollection just 3 mains. We chose pork loin (very tasty, great sauce) two salads, goat cheese and duck (both super, well dressed, although only 5 smallish pieces of cheese unlike on one of the photos here) cured salmon with asparagus (fab) and broth. We tried dill cheesecake for dessert. Overall I would recommend the place, polish cooking with a flair, well executed, fresh, imaginative but you certainly need deeper pockets than usual, main courses started at 36zl

My review is ONLY about the Restaurant - in the Future, I hope to get to experience the Hotel in full. 🙂 Although the Vegan options are still very limited, this is, without a doubt, THE BEST PLACE FOR A BREAKFAST in Sandomierz, one of the ONLY TWO places (the other only opening at noon), that save face to this otherwise total food desert for any decent Vegan. The Hummus is YUMMY (and, well, I understand Hummus...), the Soymilk Latte is Great, and first and foremost: the service is BEST!! ❤️❤️❤️ When I'll be next in this town (whenever THAT shall happen...), I shall definitely stay at this Hotel.😍😍

Beautiful, well-kept place. Kind service. The dishes are medium-sized, not to fulfill a big hunger or let's say, fulfill in healthy manner. Surprisingly the dish can be served in completely new image next time you visit.

Food here is more then amazing. Wine selection is great. You have try "proziak" which is something extraordinary. This is one of my favorite places in Poland in general and the best in Sandomierz.

Spent 2 nights for a short break in Sandomierz and we cannot recommend the restaurant and bed and breakfast highly enough. The historical building has been beautifully renovated to a very high quality and with such attention to detail. The renovation has kept much of its classical features and original charm, whilst blending seamlessly with modern design elements that offer comfort and style....the owners have really managed to create a unique home from home. Our quaint room was spacious and furnished to a very high standard and the bed was so comfortable. We even had a small balcony to sit and enjoy the warm summer evenings. The well trained and friendly staff were all so welcoming and willing to serve with a smile...and even chat when possible - any extra request was quickly and efficiently delivered...so refreshing and so rare. Breakfast was the best yet on all our travels around Poland by far. The set breakfast offered a fun and delicious start to the day with a nutritious variety of hot/cold dishes...so refreshing from the stale buffet breakfast served by most hotels. The restaurant al la cart menu was excellent too...Personally crafted by the chef, with the highest quality products and freshest ingredients sourced from local suppliers (and their own small farm).The chefs' passion for creating exciting food is clear in the menu. We enjoyed the food so much that we did not eat outside of the restaurant during our entire two day stay...as many of the other places in the square looked like typical tourist venues. After a request to the staff, the chef and the restaurant manager joined us at our table so we could share our experience with them. The outside restaurant seating area is so relaxing...the gardens have been beautifully crafted with a variety of plants that create such a calming and peaceful setting (away from the main square) to enjoy the delicious menu creations. Such a rare find...such a unique place in a charming (but commercial) Sandomierz!

Magical place, went for breakfast. Rerto style, books on the shelves, paintings on the walls and soft piano music in the background. Food was excellent and the coffee superb. Will visit next time for sure.

Excellent cuisine Excellent service. I strongly recommend it. The beer selection is my only criticism. I believe they ought to include delectable Polish beers on their menu.

Definitely one of the best (if not the best) place in Sandomierz. Excellent location, beautiful and charming interior. Elegant but not pretentious. Service is very welcoming and attentive. Prices are suitable considering quality of food. We appreciated quick tour given to us by a staff member - makes you feel more connected to the place. Jednym słowem godne polecenia miejsce, do ktorego na pewno będziemy wracać.

Absolute Empfehlung!! Wir sind ganz zufällig vorbei gekommen, haben am Abend ein Glas Wein dort getrunken und am nächsten Tag dort gefrühstückt. Ich musste dann ein paar Stunden arbeiten und mir wurde ein separater Raum zur Verfügung gestellt, damit ich ungestört bin. So einen tollen Service habe ich noch nie erlebt. Das Personal war absolut zuvorkommend und freundlich, das Essen war großartig und das Lokal ist einfach wundervoll eingerichtet und liebevoll renoviert. Ich komme zurück und dann werde ich auch dort übernachten. Die Zimmer schauen absolut toll aus. Ich kann nur wärmstens empfehlen dort einzukehren, wenn man vor Ort ist.
