This place is a serious gem. A friend referred us so we ordered a little of everything for takeout. We couldn’t stop eating! Not only that, the service is so refreshingly warm and friendly. They took the time to explain dishes, make recommendations and exchange a few laughs. An easy 5 star. Don’t sleep on this place. Only room to improve would be the look and feel of the restaurant but it’s not necessary. Thank you Safia restaurant!

I had anjeero for the first time here and it was sooooo good. It's a crepe made of fermented dough, similar to the Ethiopian injera, but less sour and not made of teff. I got the anjeero with the liver breakfast plate which also comes with Somali milk tea. The liver is very good, but a bit too oily for my tastes. If they used less oil, I would be in love with the dish. The milk tea was creamy and gingery. I really enjoyed it. The beef and chicken suquaar plate is also delicious! Full of flavour. The only thing that is boring is the salad. Just iceberg lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. But the vegetables were fresh. Don't come here for the salad, lol. Beef and chicken suquaar plate, and liver and anjeero for the win! Lol.

This place is one of a kind and nothing like you would find in the rest of the city. Lots of flavour and smells amazing. Also, the staff were great. They were very open and friendly. For the food, I got the plate which was amazing, but I've tried their wrap before which I'd also recommend.

It's been almost ten years since the last time I had Somali food. My friend recommended it and we came, it seems that they've gotten even better than they were ten years ago. The portions are hefty, the flavour is perfected, meat is tender and juicy and the service is very quick. The prices are very good considering what you get. I highly recommend this place and I will become a regular.

I have never had Somali food. I came here on a recommendation and I was really blown away. Explosion of flavour, spicy and cooked perfectly. Definitely coming back for more. I had the chicken wrap.

Delicious! First time ordering from here & first time ordering Somalian food (used Skip the Dishes). Even the little side of soup which looked plain was so tasty. The ginger tea was a nicely spiced chai with cardamom too, not overly sweet. Always happy to find new restaurants / cuisines that use spices well!

If Ottawa has a place for better food for such low prices, I'm not sure where that is...maybe Dirienzo's. This Somali restaurant has amazing food with enough spice to wake you up but not so much to wreck your mouth. Amazing flavours. And the staff were beyond friendly. What a hidden gem this place is!

The meat is seasoned well, I've had the lamb and the beef, rice is flavourful and quite delicious. The hot sauce is fantastic. The staff is super friendly and efficient. I will return for sure.

It was my first time trying Somali food. Ordered lamb and chicken mix on rice and came with salad. Food was flavourful and unique but got an upset stomach after eating this. Maybe my stomach could not handle too much spice.

We ordered the chicken and beef with chapati - both excellent, great flavours and value for money.

This restaurant has very quickly made it to my top 3 in the city. Unreal flavour and effort put in every dish that I’ve ordered (20+ platters) over the past couple of years. May they continue to deliver on the quality food that they provide their costumers!

Not your typical restaurant. More an experience in amazingly tasty food set in a basic eatery. No dish washing in this place. Paper plates and throw away cutlery. Not licensed so fruit juices go well with the meal. The food, is fantastic. They own 2 restaurants. Can't wait to try the second one out. The Menu is online.

I just ordered from this restaurant for a workplace holiday potluck and I was so happy with with the flavour and back home aromas, presentation (they put some red and green food colouring on the rice, adorable touch!) and value. Ordered trays of bariis and beef suqaar. I will definitely be ordering other menu items in the future. Owner was wonderful and helpful with my order. Plus pick-up was great, young men at the front had great customer service skills. 5/5.

This place is amazing. I've ordered from Safia using Uber Eats over 10 times, and everything has been great. Also, 80% of the time they give me one more ginger tea than I ordered! Not complaining, it's delicious! The only thing I would change is I would like to be able to order the spinach medley on its own, or for it to be an add-on option for the family dinner. It's easily the best side dish!

I tried chicken sandwich with samosa and tea. The taste is ultimate and price also reasonable. The place is neat and clean. Staff behavior is very good. Some time It’s difficult to get seat especially for Friday lunch time. Great place to go with family!

The food here is sooooo fresh. Really impressed with the quality and taste. The portions are huge and would most likely last you for two meals. Prices are also cheap for the amount of food you get.
