They've been hard hit by Covid. Menu completely changed & reduced & they constantly need to make ingredient substitutions because of less supplies. . I will support them until things normalize. Past winners were an amazing onion soup, lamb shank, meatloaf with charred sprouts. Great fish tacos still available. Pass on the Thai bowl swimming in non authentic soupy red sauce .

I’ve been going to this clocktower location with family and friends for years, and normally it’s a great spot. But I was unpleasantly surprised during my last visit when one of the servers refused to serve our table. He seemed irritated from the moment he arrived at our table, and was even more annoyed when one of my friends asked for food. There was some sort of misunderstanding while he took our order that caused him to storm off (with no explanation whatsoever). We sat at our table, confused, for about 20 minutes before realizing he was actively ignoring us. I eventually got up and went to the bar in effort to sort out whatever had just happened and he still refused to acknowledge me. I had to ask one of his coworkers (totally normal and lovely person) to speak with him in an effort to sort out this misunderstanding. He begrudgingly came over to me and stated that he thought we were laughing at him when he asked to take our order. I apologized to him for making it seem as though we were laughing, even though nobody had any reaction that I would’ve deemed even slightly rude or impolite. Sadly for me, he still refused to serve us and basically told us to leave, so we went to another pub down the road where we were given excellent service. I get it if you’re having a bad day. I worked in the industry for a few years and I can understand how difficult it is to deal with customers from time to time. That being said, this guy was completely unreasonable and rude. I was shocked by his child like behaviour and if I ever go back to this place I will have to make sure to ask to have anyone but John as our waiter.

Good experience! It began to rain and we were quickly accommodated to a table which sheltered us from the rain. Everything was great but I can't recommend the nachos as highly as I would like. The BBQ sauce overpowered everything else and there was very little cheese. We asked for jalapeños on the side and they were littered throughout. Other than that it was a great experience and the supreme burger was very good.

The food used to be excellent - but at some point in the past couple of years, there were significant changes, and I'm consistently disappointed in quality and price. That being said - the staff is friendly, it's a comfortable atmosphere and the beer is excellent.

This is one of my neighborhood pubs, and it's my favourite. Friendly staff, especially Heather who might be one the most calm and efficient servers on the planet. They have deals on Tuesdays and Thursdays on pints. I've been to other Clocktowers around town, and this one is the best on my biased opinion!

To be honest, this was the first time I've dined in a restaurant since the pandemic started. Waitress was very attentive and courteous. Food was tasty. I ordered the chicken club on flatbread. It was delicious. Sometimes a chicken club can be dried out but the chicken was moist. Fries were good. Great atmosphere. Just a nice place to eat.

Clocktower has excellent and deliciously-flavored beer which they brew in house. I've yet to be disappointed with this location. Always good service and food. Thanks!

The food was good, and the atmosphere was nice. Our waiter however ruined the experience. While he seemed a bit cranky/ short when serving is wasnt a huge problem. His service was ok but it wasn't incredible. Just standard service. The food arrived quickly and was tasty. We were fairly happy, paid and left a tip of 15%. While we were all packing up and heading to the restroom/ out he (our server) came over to the party member that paid, pointed at the tip and asked if the service was ok. When she said yes, he pressed further. She firmly said it was fine. He then went and asked this to every member of our party, as we were leaving. One while she was on the way to the restroom, two on their way out from the restaurant, another as she was coming back from the restroom to leave. He basically chased us out of the pub asking. It soured the whole experience. It felt like being acosted for more money. I wouldn't reccomend the pub to anyone now as a result. It was uncomfortable and while the food was decent it wasnt worth the experience.

Stopped in for a beer and light lunch. Had the Hummus & Stuff...it was disappointing. Menu indicated it was a roasted garlic hummus...I didn't taste any notes of tahini, garlic or lemon...really seemed to be chickpeas and nothing else (given consistency I'd imagine there were more ingredients but not discernable.) The walnut gremolata helped when mixed in but not enough to save a very bland hummus. Cauliflower buffalo wings, taste was good, blue cheese gave it some punch. Presentation...when something is called wings you'd expect chunks of cauliflower however the dish was quite small pieces, no bigger than small grapes...so from a sensory perspective was a definite miss. The beer was good.

My dining experiences here have been hit or miss. The fish and chips are good, but I have been served skunky beer on one occasion. I also found that the nachos were not very impressive and did not have enough toppings considering the cost. Generally service has been good. Their clocktower tasting tray is a great way to try all their beers, of which their are many.

I love Clocktower, but this location isn't my favourite. We spent about $60 for dinner for two. It was delicious, but it felt a bit pricey. Our server forgot to give us cutlery (and we did not get finger food!) so even though the food arrived hot, we had to wait a while to eat. Also, very very dark atmosphere inside. It's okay!

The food was excellent as was the craft beer and wine. The server was very helpful, knowledgeable and engaging which made for a great experience.

Ate on the patio around 1 pm. It was not as noisy as I expected which was a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the Deluxe burger with fries.

Fast and friendly service, decent food, nice patio, but they need to up their beer game. for one of Ottawa s oldest brew pubs, they are stuck in a rut.

Had a few drinks and some wings on the patio last night (Saturday June 26th) both of which were delicious… along with an amazing server who was super friendly and efficient!

They don't want business! Twice visited twice rejected. This time ,10:00 p.m. on a Tuesday night myself and a few other people waiting outside as to employee sitting on the porch and chit chatting the sign says wait to be seated, guy comes in from isud after a few minutes "sorry guys we turned everything off". This is while the hours is until midnight and the Royal oak next door is making money for another few hours. Perhaps Won't be back !

First experience in a pub in Ottawa. Good experoence overall. A little bit pricey beers, but it's good for hanging out.

Food and drinks are good but it's the staff that makes the real difference. From Jamie at the bar to every server I've ever had, all the staff make this my favourite place for pub food or a beer on the patio.

$15.00 for a questionable 8oz of cheap Ruffino Pinot Grigio wine is a joke.

Beer was pretty good. Very disappointed in the the food. Ordered a poutine and paid an extra 6.00 to add braised brisket. When it came out, the braised brisket was room temperature sandwich meat.

Great local brewpub with an excellent selection of craft beers. Food was delicious, service was great, with a great pub atmosphere. If your in the area and looking for a cozy pub with good food and drink, look no further.

Pumpkin beer is always tops in my book at the clocktower. Although, this year's batch is a lot darker than the amber colouring I'm used to. Food can be hit or miss. This round I got the nachos again and they're good but I have to order extra cheese.

You guys should really work on making a better ceasar drink. It’s so plane and expensive. It’s not worth the price and your flat bread is super soggy. It was terrible.

First time going there. Went with some coworkers for lunch. Very dark inside, not very good lighting. A coworkers meal was cold, server never came to check up on our table or even offer for refills (which are not free). Will not be going there again.

Today, my mother invited me to lunch at (the pub) Clock Tower restaurant on MacKay Street. Mom ordered diet coke and chicken wings and I too ordered a diet coke and French onion soup with Swiss Cheese, the Swiss cheese gives the soup a different taste I finished the soup. I finished eating the chicken wings remaining on my mother's plate. Both were yummy.

Best chicken wings around and great service. It is always enjoyable to go to a pub where the staff have been there for years, it tells you something about the people.

I had a great time during the chess night, every Monday starting a 7pm. A good crowd for a Monday, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Keep that feeling and service and you will do just fine. Hard to find parking though. Cheers.

Better food than the glebe clocktower location, happy hour specials are good and it's a solid neighbourhood pub. Great wings, but go on Wednesday for the wing night otherwise they're fairly overpriced

  • 3/5 Troy 1 year ago on Google
Generic brewpub with mediocre beer, food, but outstanding service and friendliness.. typically I'm here twice a year with friends in town in New Edinburgh, and usually disappointed with whatever we consume, but it gets the job done... Tons of TVs everywhere, so if you're not into sports, well, be prepared. Decent enough neighborhood pub (in an area with little competition), just not my jam.

  • 2/5 Brigitte B. 1 year ago on Google
Fish and chips and French onion soup. The soup was ok. The piece of fish was beautiful HOWEVER there was no tartar when I asked for extra. Fish and tartar is like coffee and cream. The “coleslaw” that came with it was so bland. Not even a little salt. This meal was so disappointing. The service industry has gone down. 60$ and I could have made it better myself!

I'm really enjoying coming here. I've been here 3 times in as many weeks, and the service is very friendly and has good recommendations. I quite enjoy their Stout beer. Prices are fair too. I'll keep coming back!

I was looking to order Cajun Chicken from the menu and was wondering if it is fried. The waitresses did not bother or care to answer. I ordered it and I got a burnt chicken on my salad. When I asked for replacement, the rude waitresses replied that it supposed to look like this. I did not want to escalate the issue since we had a birthday party but that was the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant.

Great service! So glad the patio is open again. Our server (wish I caught her name to give her a proper shout out) last night was very accommodating and super sweet... all while having to wear what must feel like a bucket on her head (PPE face shield). If you're going for a beer try the ESB, it's sooo good and smooth! Served ~11PM June 21. Cheers 🍻

Visited on Saturday for lunch. Service was ok, they were fairly busy with a big party of people. Food was good (shared wings and poutine). The real star is their beer though! Would come back to try the other varieties of in house beer they have!

It's nice when a place has its own selection of beers to serve. The food is very typical for a pub with not much variety. Service is always top notch. Great spot to have some drinks on the patio!

  • 5/5 MaryAnn F. 3 years ago on Google
It was so great to take in the patio and have a drink with friends. Unfortunately we left early as we could not have a conversation due to the construction noise across the street (Demolishing the overhead gas bar). The service was fast and very friendly. Always a great place to people watch and have a bite.

  • 3/5 Nick W. 3 years ago on Google
Prices are alright, staff was friendly. Food quality to price ratio was unhappy. Burger was greasy (which is fine) but uneasy to handle and lacked in flavor points. Homestyle fries sound special but is just fries in salt. Peanut bowl was lackluster, with soggy chicken cutlets, bland noodles, but in a good sauce. Chicken tenders looked like Costco bought and simple fried, nothing special. Felt weird paying around $20 for each item. Tipped well because service was good.

Great cozy location of the Clocktower brew pubs. Sanitation looks on point, distancing in effect. Checkin is done online, very easy. One simply scans the QR code to check in. Mobile menu's available along with a paper version. Same procedures as other Clocktower's in the city.
