Great simple pub with a great choice on beers. Most importantly, dogs are allowed on the patio! The atmosphere is very no fuss and relaxing. The inside of the bar looks quite antique and one of a kind.

Joe our waiter was amazing. The staff at the entrance were so nice. The cleanliness was unreal, the food was amazing, from the deep fried pickles and starter poutine to the chicken wings & nachos. A little pricey but so worth it. Was finger licking good. We'll be back. Thanks for a great 1st experience.

We loved Patty's Pub! Hands down the best French onion soup I've had in a looong time. All the food was delicious, the beer was perfect and the staff was so friendly! Can't wait to make another trip to Ottawa so we can swing by again!

I just wanted Friday night wings and beer and this joint delivered - nice hot unbreaded chicken wings served up the old fashioned way. It was a nice warm early September night and the patio was splendid. Poor folks in the far corner of the patio dined in darkness (see photo.) A bit more lighting would remedy this. Really nice traditional pub inside. Will have to return for a proper cozy indoor meal when the temps turn cold. Easy parking on the side streets.

Hand sanitisation station at the entrance, contact tracing protocols in place, writing your information down in a ledger. Friendly staff, good service. Physical distancing in place and plastic shields in place where tables are close. Washrooms in the rear of the restaurant. Classic Ottawa Pub.

Mainly went for drinks and a little snack later in the evening on a Friday night. Not a super busy place which was nice. Food wise we got the dessert of the day which was pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing. I have to admit it was one of the best pumpkin cakes I’ve had and the cream cheese icing was super light and fluffy! Absolutely delicious and a giant portion. The chicken tenders in spicy Buffalo sauce was average. Nothing that really stood out but was still good with a beer.

I can't believe I've lived here for 10 years and this was the first time I went to Patty's... It was great!! Loved the food, service, and atmosphere. We had wings, French onion soup, liver, bangers & mash, and fish & chips. All were awesome. We will be back!!

Love this pub! Popped in there Friday night and used to go there regularly when I lived in the area. Hasn't changed one bit in 20 years (good or bad depends on what you like in a pub). It has a well-worn hardwood interior all over the place, cozy lighting and tons of character. The food was great as always. It was super busy on a Friday night but that doesn't bother me - it just confirms that it's a great place for beers and food.

Traditional Irish pub with a nice atmosphere. The food and the beer were great, I had a Last Waltz burger and some beers from Ashton Brewery. The service was excellent, friendly and speedy. It's a bit on the pricey side, and parking can be tricky. Still a great option for having a good night out with some friends though.

Been coming here for years now and if there's one constant left in the universe, it's Patty's Pub. And that's fine. Predictable, reliable, uncomplicated, eclectic, and welcoming. The food is what is what you'd expect in a pub, beer selection is adequate, and the surroundings are appropriately worn in. Just what you want in a neighborhood pub - even if it's on the Bank Street drag. But what really makes this place stand out is the staff. The staff have consistently been exceptional - especially in interacting with kids, which isn't something you'd expect to find in a pub.

Food is some of the best in the city, been coming here for a few years with my partner! the atmosphere is always top notch and homely, even when busy. Employees are always courteous and friendly :) I was only perturbed by the lack of milk steak on the menu!

It's all about the people at Patty's. This has been our "local" for years - and the staff has become like family to us. The food/drink is of course great, but the people make the place feel like home and go out of their way to ensure a great outing....Thanks

  • 5/5 Marrissa M. 2 years ago on Google
The food is pretty reasonably priced and there's a shocking number of vegetarian options for a pub. All of the staff I've ever been served by are great. I'll definitely be going back

Safely say that Patty's Pub has the best fries any Irish pub could serve! Now if you compare the staff to the quality of the fries, you'll understand why the service is so great. Music, Food, atmosphere, this pub has it all. Not a bad seat in the place. Sláinte!

  • 4/5 Lisa T. 1 year ago on Google
Has a large patio area for outdoor dining, only place in town that I could think of that sells a "boxty", kind of like a crepe made with potatoes. Tasty fries, large portions, they have their own beer! Overall, decent experience!

Haven't been here in years and were happy to find our meal was great. Had fish and chips and both were great. Really appreciate fries that aren't frozen. The piece of fish is generous. The server was friendly and attentive. Love the patio for nice days. The decor inside really makes you feel you are in a pub. This is on our list now for go to spots in Ottawa

The fries - isn’t it always about the fries? They were great and so was the beer- oh and SERVICE nobody wants a grumpy bear showing up. Our server was positive and helpful which makes for a really fun night. Tip raised above the already good tip (it’s a tough gig, I get it!) Look forward to more visits to this Ottawa classic.

Because of the restrictions to in-house dining, we had to order a birthday celebration dinner as 'take-out'. EVERYTHING was fabulous! Don't forget...that's take-out! Not only was the food really yummy, the staff were so nice and attentive. Patty's Pub on Bank helped me celebrate a very important birthday with great success. Can't recommend them enough.

We'd never been here before even when we lived in Ottawa. We enjoyed the food and the ambiance. We sat in a small alcove and had some great privacy which was good as we needed it for being loud and unpleasant. The waitress was knowledgeable of the menu items and was amazing with the small talk. We loved it. Thank you. P.S. if you read this and you're the waitress, we don't believe your age 😄 you must be much younger!

Stopped in for food and brews on Dec. 01st; our first time here. We were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Had a brown ale and cream Ashton on tap, both of which were delicious. Spouse ordered fish n chips; I had the Last Waltz burger. Both of these were fabulous and filled the empty spots. Capped it off with a piece of of pumpkin flavoured carrot style cake which we split. Our server Jaymee was also excellent; attentive without hovering which was great. We were also checked on by the nice lady who greeted and seated us after we finished our meal. Atotally pleasant and great evening out. We will definitely be back soon. Thanks Patty's Pub !!!

Always a good place for a good tasty meal. It a super fun place to go eat as well the decor is very cool. The only bad thing is the waitress was a bit rude my partner and I asked to see the full menu and she chewed us off because it was a game night. We told heer we understand and we are not going to order from said menu we already ordered from the menu that was provided. We just wanted to see if they still offered the same stuff since before the pandemic because there is a few things on that menu that we have cravings for. She proceeded to chew us out and wlak d away. The restaurant was not even busy or anything. I'm sorry I took so long to write this review because I really liked the place but I feel like I have to be honest. I was there last Saturday but it's gonna be a long time before we go back. We are just having a hard time swallowing how we where treated. Is said cause both me and my boyfriend love to eat there. Thanks for taking the time to read my review. Cheers Leo

Summary St. Patty's Pub: A must-visit institution with fantastic food, service, and ambiance. Try the delicious pan-seared chicken for great value. Vast drinks menu with excellent selection. Great location and cool ambiance. St. Patty's Pub is a true institution! This hidden gem in the heart of Lawndown Glebe is an absolute must-visit. During my visit, I opted for the pan-seared chicken, and it exceeded all expectations. The flavors were tantalizing, and the portion size was generous, offering excellent value for money. I wholeheartedly recommend trying this dish; you won't be disappointed. One aspect that truly impressed me was the extensive drinks menu. Even if you come just for the fries - DO it! We chose this pub for the ACTUAL pub menu - boxtys, shepherds pie, bangers and mash etc. The fries were glorious, and the rest of the meal the same. Service is cheery and pleasant, and the decor/atmosphere is perfect! New favorite spot!

Our favourite pub in Ottawa. Staff is AMAZING and welcoming. Beer on tap selection is great and nice and cold!! Food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Fish and chips are best I've had in Ottawa. Really great local pub with all the vibes❤️

Tasty food, especially the nachos and the fish and chips. The beer is good too, and there is a great patio space in the summer. Very kid friendly with a separate kids menu.

A quiet neighborhood gem. Patty's pub has two sides: a perfect patio, shaded but next to busy Bank Street, where you can watch the world bustle by while enjoying some amazing local beers. (Ashton Brewing is my favorite!) And the other side is the warm, cozy pub, with a big stone fireplace and hardwood floors. Great for summer or winter, always good service, good people, and good food. Enjoy

I usually like this place but my server was completely aloof...I waited at the door for about 3 ish minutes without anyone seating me. I walked up to the bar to get the server's attention until I finally sat myself. During my dinner she walked by my empty plate and glass several times before asking if I wanted anything else or my bill.

  • 2/5 Steph R. 1 year ago on Google
Servers were lovely. Was put in a very dark corner - everyone at my table needed to use the flashlights on their phones to read the menu. The prices are also excessive - my Strongbow cider was $10. I wouldn't go there again.

I used to go here regularly about 10 years ago. This was my first visit since then and although a great atmosphere, service, food and drinks I was very disappointed that we couldn't order any food this time. Apparently the kitchen was closed, despite it being shortly after 10pm after a redblacks game on a Saturday night. The place was pretty bust and we quickly left because we were hungry and had to go somewhere with food.

  • 5/5 Kevin P. 1 year ago on Google
We have been to this pub a few times a year for about a decade. This was our first visit since the pandemic and I am glad that the pub remains in operation. The restaurant serves Irish dishes in a hearty rustic atmosphere, that is very relaxed. The food and service was great. There is a kids menu, and a reasonable selection of food. Everything was well prepared and served quickly. Parking along the side streets is reasonably nearby and available for a pub on a main street in a shopping area. We had a good time and will be back.

A gem of Old Ottawa South. This pub is a great spot and gives an authentic, rustic atmosphere inside. They have some of the best beer I've tasted in Ottawa (the Ashton blueberry or amber are my recommendations). Food is also really good and the service is pretty quick. It's a little away from the action of centretown, but worth the trip down Bank.

  • 4/5 Alyson Y. 1 year ago on Google
Great place! I've been coming here on occasion since university. The guys I go with always love the wings, but I usually try other things on the menu. And I haven't been disappointed in the food yet! The fries are great (almost chip-truck style), as is the Shepherd's Pie. The CBC sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and you also can't go wrong with a Boxty! You definitely won't be disappointed with the food, but this is probably not a place you will go for the ambiance. The tables are EXTREMELY sticky, some tables have a fan in front of lights that creates a strobe-light effect, and much of the decor has gotten pretty beaten up over the years. We recently went with my 5-year-old nephew, and he entertained himself for about 20 minutes by sticking stuff to the tabletop and then laughing hysterically as he struggled to peel it back off. If you're looking for a place with delicious food and a pretty good beer selection in a traditional "old school dive pub" setting, look no further! If you are picky about your surroundings and ambiance, then maybe this is not the place for you (or try the patio, which is much nicer-looking than the interior).

The food was excellent here. I had no expectations going to this place for lunch thinking it was a typical pub with normal pub food. I had ordered the penne jambalaya and was very surprised at the taste of the dish. There were big shrimps included along with a lot of chicken and Italian sausage. The pasta was cooked perfectly aldente and the sauce was delicious. And the portion was big enough to feel full at the end. A friend had ordered the Last Waltz burger and said it was also very good. I would recommend coming here at least once to eat.

Regretably...its closed for the next month...a great low key pub for a quiet pint in the afternoon while we solve the problems of the world but forget to write them down...hence another meeting next week...also a great meeting place for locals and their families for a dinner treat...

Food was really good, would've gotten 5 stars easily except its annoying the only "menu" is a faded chalk board with items and no prices. Website also doesn't have any prices. So my sandwich was great, but I wouldn't have gotten if I'd known it was $23. Waiter was super friendly. Could definitely use more lighting on patio if they're open past sunset.

Look, all of the pubs on this stretch of bank that have been around for more than a decade are worth frequenting and it kind of depends on who your favourite servers are and the kind of space you like. Patty's is probably my current pick for the coziness in the winter and good service. I can't say the food is memorable, so your usual pub fare. I think the service is really good. Their relationship with the Ashton Brewing Company is a good thing too as their beers are generally great.

Very disappointed. We have eaten here before and the food is descent but unfortunately the service was terrible!! As a table of two we waited almost an hour to order food while other people came after us, ordered, and received their food while we tried to flag down a server several times without any luck. We were very understanding initially because we thought they might be short staffed or extra busy due to covid but when we told the server we had been waiting to order, they brought the bill and did not apologize. Very disappointing.
