Just got pickup (Barley Burger and Fish and Chips) and the only word for both is sensational. The service was excellent, food was ready at the agreed time and it was delicious. Highly recommended.

We decided to try this place because The Clocktower was closed. It’s a hidden gem! We walked in and the server took our name, we waited a few minutes and then she took us upstairs to seat us on the upper patio. It was beautiful! They sat us, where we had a great view of the sidewalk and traffic. I ordered a drink then I ordered a breakfast Bruschetta. It was delicious. They had the whole patio with social distancing which was good. Plus the servers were wearing masks! I had a great time! I would go back!

It was a quiet evening but the food and service was great! The servers were friendly and we shared some good laughs together. We'll be back!

Drinks were good. Ordered the pad Thai on the seasonal menu. Awful. Ramen noodles, about a third cup of vegetables smothered in an extra sweet, sweet and sour sauce that probably came from a jug.

The service was friendly and excellent. I was a little disappointed in my Mow-chos which were extremely salty and very bare bones and dry though. I get them from almost every Mow around me but these were just not great. The poutine was good.

Food was not good at all. Burger buns were not thawed. Blackened fish was way too salty and over seasoned. Vegetables were very greasy. Service was good. I always want to like it, but this is giving it a third try and the food has gone seriously down hill over the years. Stick to just getting beers.

Honestly I had a great time here. Rooftop terrace with tables spaced well enough apart. Staff was courteous with prompt service and the place wasn't crowded at all. Thanks to the staff there for a wonderful date night that made myself and my partner feel welcome and cared for.

I came back to this place for a dish i loved so much, the sticky chicken fingers. This time, they didn't bother to make it as indicated on the menu, I asked to be tossed in sauce ( simple enough!?) and my plate came back with sauce poured cheaply over the chicken. Very disappointed. And from then, we couldn't get any service ( we wanted salt and ketchup for the fries and another drink) the waiter completely ignored us. Sadly, we loved this place but was so turned off by our last visit, will probably be ou last ever.

Great place! We ordered zucchini as appetiser, delicious!. Then I replaced fries for ceasar salad to complete my fish and chips, OMG, best ceasar salad ever!! And pierogis <3 delicious! We enjoyed the rooftop patio. Good service that made my experience unique.

I highly recommend a brunch on their rooftop patio. Lots of classic brunch and other pub fares on the menu. And some breakfast cocktails too. The sprinkler system at the top of the fence helps keep you cool on a hot day. The server was lots of fun too. Joking and laughing along with our group!

Wanted to like it. Service was good, food not so much. Kids' pizza was horrible, mushy. I ordered "roast beef " that I think was grilled but was tough as boot leather. The child hated the "pizza " so I cut parts of my meat into tiny pieces as it was hard to chew. Wife's chicken wrap was OK. There was too much to complain about, so we sucked it up. Very Canadian eh? Wasted $100.

Probably the worst nachos we have ever tried. We ordered the blackened chicken mow-chos and what came to the table was chips with almost no cheese. We commented that we thought we had the wrong order as there was no chicken and they brought it separately to dump on the chips. Isnt the point of nachos that the topping stick to the chips by the melted cheese, which again there was very little of. So basically we had chips and had to eat the chicken separately with a fork.

The service was excellent and the food was appetizing. I recommend this restaurant. 👌

Great food and very good beer. The upper level outdoor patio is very cute in the evening. The reason I gave it a 4 stars out of 5 is due to their prices on some items. For exemple , you ONLY get 2 small tacos for 15$ when other places offer three tacos. Especially following the pandemic and building customers, price is important as their quality is already on par.

Went for a drink while a band was playing. The band was good, but the music was way too loud. For the ~40 ppl spread out in the bar, it seemed way too loud. Hard to converse with friends. Service was prompt but unfriendly.

There are a lot of things to like about the Barley Mow, especially this location: the rooftop patio is fun. Selection of beer is great, and the food is often a step above what you find in other pubs. I have to stick it with a three star review, however, as they are not great with allergy requests. Almost every time, they will include items that we have specifically asked them not to. I’m not talking about re-formulating recipes from scratch, I’m talking about leaving certain things off a burger, for example. It’s so bad it’s almost laughable: they have messed up all but two of my last nine visits. So why do I keep going back? Hope springs eternal? At least the staff is great about trying to correct the kitchen’s mistakes.

Great food, nice drinks, friendly service and a wonderful roof terrace for a sunny day. Got some great veggie options, with 1-2 being vegan friendly as well. Also there is usually a great, rotating special menu with foods and drinks.

Great location and gorgeous patio. Food is usually good but a little overpriced compared to other local spots. Drinks also more expensive than other nearby pubs. Service is not great…they are understaffed (like many other places right now) so it’s a bit slow, but many of the staff don’t seem happy like they want to be there. Had one specific bad experience recently it was between 8pm-midnight on a weekend. Server ID’d one person in our small party, and then gave that person a bit of a hard time for not ordering food, and then gave that same person a hard time when they ordered a second drink. She questioned the drink order and made it sound like a big deal to open another bottle of Jameson (it was 10pm on a Saturday). One person in the party ordered white wine and was brought red. One person ordered a rye and ginger and it tasted like water with a hint of whiskey. No lime either. Never asked how everything was. Never checked in. Had to flag her or go across the restaurant to the bar to ask. It wasn’t that busy either. Will be back again likely, hopefully things improve throughout the summer :)

Sadly disappointing. First time going to this Barley Mow - from a dirty table that we had to ask twice to get a wipe down to getting a beef burger when we ordered a chicken and having not even so much as a soft sorry when we let them know and then getting charged for it when we didn’t order it and a few other things but I don’t want to ramble. Never experienced this in Ottawa. Such a bummer because the roof top patio was beautiful.

Servers sorta forgot us on the rooftop patio, although it was slow, but after they saw us, our drinks and food arrived quickly and was good. They made up for the delay in greeting. I'd go back again just for the peach sangria.

This was a great stop for a mid day drink and a light snack. We had the vegetarian nachos or Mow-Chos as they are called on the menu. They were great and the beers we had, both from 1000 island brewery were great as well.

The food was delicious, great atmosphere.. super friendly staff.. there was a very sweet short blonde girl who I forget her name… was very helpful and friendly, we had a great experience and will be coming back regularly!!

We held a private event here this fall for around 60 people. The manager and staff were excellent to work with, accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Everything went super smoothly. Staff were very attentive. We’d certainly recommend the Westboro Barley Mow to anyone looking to host events of their own. It was a lovely venue, especially with the rooftop patio.

Highly recommend the chef to review their fish. The Fish & chips is a dried piece of flat thin fish. Overfried and tasteless. Absolutely no value. Truly disappointed.

I just went for drinks wirh a friend and to watch the band playing. We sat at the bar and the bartender was quite attentive. The single malt scotch selection could use some updating but otherwise it was a fine night out!

Wing night is the best deal around!

Today, friends and I met at the Barley Mow. We had to make reservations, give a full name and contact info for contact tracing should they need to, and a time block if we would be there for 2+ hours. They were well set up for serving during the pandemic. The waitress (Kate) was pleasant and the food was good. The patio was large enough to accommodate social distancing of parties, offers a nice street view of Richmond road and it was nice to know that they had taken every precaution.

Great ambiance and location. Watch out for the bar tender with the beard he's a creep.

Service was extremely fast. Got check ins from our server during our app and twice during dinner. Friendly, attentive, fast and tasty

Went back to where we had our first date 2 years ago. The service and food was just a good as we remembered and our server made sure we were able to sit at the table we had our first date at. Highly recommend!

You’d expect regular pub food but don’t be fooled. Some delicious takes on regular items, but you can still find the staples. An added bonus is that it is one of the best patios in the neighbour - it even has misters!

A pleasant surprise in the heart of Westbrook. Service was top notch and decor was cozy. Had the perogies which were delicious and not dry. The fish &chips were sublime. Had the shared sangria which was quite modest for the price and mostly filled with ice. The 1000 Island lager was delicious though. Would recommend without hesitation.
