extremely disappointed with the service i received yesterday at 1:15am 07/29/2022. I brought a valid id with me according to Service Ontario and was rudely denied service with a poor excuse as to why she couldn’t accept it, saying “other bartenders wouldn’t.” my partner and i are frequent customers here but after getting not only being denied a beer with a valid id, i wasn’t even offered even a water after because she practically ran away from the table; we definitely will not be returning nor recommending this once loved spot to friends and family. I am simply in shock with the low level of service from such a popular spot, despite great service in the past. It was a very humiliating experience, and hope that in the future this establishment reconsiders their staff so that someone else doesn’t have to sit there and watch their partner finish their drink while having being offered nothing.

Had a great experience at this restaurant! Food was great, on a quieter street near the market making it much more enjoyable. Very dog friendly on the patio! All the staff were so kind giving my boy treats. I didn't realize I would be away from home for so long and it was his dinner time. Upon asking the waitress they were willing to cook him a dog friendly meal so he could have dinner with us! They even brought him a bowl of ice water, we will definitely be returning. Thank you to all the staff! You truly made our night. Capone says thank you!

Had the pleasure of making a stop in at Pup 101. The prices are excellent, and portions are perfect, not giant, not too small. The atmosphere is excellent with nice live music on some nights. It's 3 floors and fun.

PRICE HIKE, FEB 2023!!!! This used to be our very favourite place to go, not because the food was great or the place was very nice, but because it was just so darn affordable, even in COVID. Drinks have been hiked from $5 to $7 and meals have gone from $11 to $12-15. (See photos for new menu). While I'm super sad about it, it was inevitable that they would EVENTUALLY adjust to inflation, but I don't think they will be our go-to anymore. Now their prices are comparable to other places where you can get much higher quality. I don't think I'll recommend it anymore, unless you're looking for a lively not-quite-a-dive bar.

Great place to eat at a great price and the service my group of 10 received was awesome 👌. To top it off, the food tasted great for the majority of my group. I would recommend!!!

The prices are great for the quantity and the location. I found my poutine was a bit salty. The quesadilla was nice and cheesy. The service was friendly. They have a big patio so it would be a good place to go on a nice summer day.

Easily one of my favourite spots in the Byward Market. I’ll often come here for a cheap beer, cheap (and delicious) nachos, and even sometimes to work. Staff are all amazing, please make sure you tip them well! My bill is usually under $20 when I get a meal and a beer. 10/10

The staff were friendly. The outdoor seating was comfortable but sometimes we might get disturbed by the external environment. The beer was cheap and drinks were fairly priced. I had the fish and chips it’s the best in quality.

Unsanitary, untrained staff. Don't blame the young staff they were probably pandemic hires with no previous experience. Management should have done a better job. The 2 guys went downstairs to clean the public washrooms and walked back INTO the dining area with the bag of garbage. Gross. Never seen that before in any eatery. Our waitress pulled her mask down twice to mop her sweaty mouth area with the back of her hand while prepping my water. Dropped the lemon on the floor, picked it up with her bare hands, tossed the piece and replaced a fresh one onto my glass. I did not venture to drink my glass of water after seeing that. At a time of heightened hygiene practices, they don't impress. We got out as soon as we could. Paid for the food but did not wait for it to arrive.

I was here earlier today on the patio. Jamie was my server. She was AMAZING!!! She is the perfect example of the idea server that you would want. Although it was raining at first, she took the water off my table. There was a funny incident with a squirrel aswell, she handled it gracefully. I would totally recommend coming here, especially if Jamie is your server! So when you want to come here for a drink, make sure you call a head of time to make sure she is working, that way you can enjoy and have the same experience that I had!!!!!

Came for wings night on Monday, incredibly polite staff that is always checking up on you even when it looks like they’re completely busy. Wings are freshly fried and sauce are tasty. Only disappointment is the spicy level of the Suicide, more mild than anything in my opinion. Would definitely come again

Went for food and drinks, food was below average (4 of 6 meals were burnt). Drinks are drinks they were fine. Waitress and service is really nice. Music was good. Paid and left. Bouncer wishes us a good night. Come back hour after to enjoy the rest of the night after doing a quick jigsaw. "I don't like your pants" We didn't make a scene or act obnoxious when we were there previous or when we tried to come back in. Made my friend's bday disappointing, we went to another bar just down the road.. spent a ton had a good night. Now will prob never recommend this place after wanting to give it a second go.

Ambiance is okay, food came fast and fresh. BUT servers does not acknowledge people coming in, they were too busy chatting with each other- server came 5 minutes after. Also, drinks are incredibly pricey.

I have never written a review before, but our experience here was absolutely awful. Me and my two friends went on a Saturday night. At first we ordered drinks, they arrived and were great. Then we ordered food. 15 minutes later, our waitress shows up with 1/3 of the correct orders, two of the orders were completely wrong. She gives the right order to my friend. Half an hour passes and my friend FINISHES her meal. The other two meals have still not come. Our waitress comes by, takes my friends food and goes “is there anything else I can get you guys?”. She had completely forgotten about our food and we’d nearly been there an hour. We remind her. It is another half hour before our food comes. We had been waiting over an hour for our food. There is no offer for compensation, not for our meal to be free, our drinks to be free or even for a free drink while we wait. Overall, we were there for 2 hours only to eat the smallest, saddest chicken burger and blt I have ever seen.

Great place to go with friends for a cheap meal with a beer. The price is good, the service is great and they offer a vegetarian option which I enjoyed very much. It's also very nice when they open the doors/windows and everything is open. 5 out of 5 for sure.

The food was good. I recommend the pulled pork sandwich. Overall a good place for a meal and the prices were pretty good.

If you are looking for a place to dance the night away. Club 101 plays all the great dance songs for all ages. Younger crowd, but we in our late 50ies were welcomed. We had a great night and returned several more times. DJ actually plays your requests. We did not eat here.

It's a good place to hangout at with friends or even by yourself. I like the atmosphere which is always a little different. Sometimes there's a really nice DJ playing some regular music and sometimes it's a game showing on the screen. I like how small and cozy it feels like any local pub.

I wouldn’t buy food here again. Chicken fingers tasted like they were bought in bulk from Walmarts frozen food aisle. BUT as a bar this place is great. Drinks are decently priced and the atmosphere is really great. Karaoke nights are always fun. Update: I’m doubling down on saying don’t order food here, I tried the pulled pork and it tasted sour and made me sick. HOWEVER I am also doubling down on saying this place is so fun and their drinks are so good and inexpensive! The just peachy and caeser 101 keep bringing me back 😭. Almost every time I go I have the same server, I don’t recall her name but she’s got cool pink/purple hair and she’s fantastic, so helpful and attentive.

Simple pub and I'm in here pretty often for lunch which is usually a pint and some wings. Place isn't for everyone, but the beer is cold, staff has always been friendly, and it offers simple pub fare.

Great pub to stop by and have something to eat and drink. Food is delicious and the menu very varied. Something even for the most picky. Prices are amazing. Drink menu is very good. Servers and all the staff are definitely the best. Always smilng and they make sure you have everything you need. My husband and I will definitely be back. What a great place to stop for great eats and drinks. Don't pass it by.

Cheap food and beer 😍

For the price of all you can eat wings on Mondays I was worried, I thought they’d be trash but whatever I’d get a lot. They were amazing wings way better than you could imagine for that price. I sat at the bar the bar tender was really nice she chatted me up made me feel welcome and poured the beers quick. It’s pub don’t expect an asking menu but go for drinks all year long.

Surprisingly decent food given the low prices. The fish and chips is a real bargain. Low drink prices as well. Will definitely go again.

So disappointed! Waited 20 mins just for our orders to be taken, and then another 40 minutes for our food to come. For a singe poutine and burger. Poutine was cold and my burger was undercooked, buns were burnt and service was terrible. Not coming here again :(

Service was good, staff was friendly and the food was reasonably priced. The only drawback I could see was the food wasn't the greatest selection but otherwise everything was fine. 14-05-22 Service was slow, almost as if I was invisible had to keep asking for what ever (drink cutlery etc...). As usual the fries were good, but there was something different about the hamburger. I asked my server about it and she never got back to me with an answer. When I went to open the mustard notice it was expired. Didn't really bother me as I eat things past their expiry date all the time. 25-05-22 Service much better and friendlier but this time I sat at the bar. Fries were still great and hamburger better than my previous visit. Still not like the burgers I became accustomed to from them in the past, but this one is all right.

I think this places gets a lot of flack from locals, but I adore it. The prices are SO reasonable (even since COVID) and it's a lively place that usually plays mid-2000s hits. It's a great little sports pub. The food is inconsistent, and the drinks are nothing unbelievable, but at the end of the day, it's cheap, cozy, and pleasant. I love going here!

My friend suggested going here for lunch. I eat mostly plant based, so I was unsure. I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing the veggie burger was, and the cauliflower bites were awesome. Also shared some fried pickles with my friend...amazing. I only had known this place to be a nightclub, but now I realize they also have a fantastic menu. Will be back and telling all my friends . Yummy, that is all.

Service was really good! Came here early ish for Monday AYCE chicken wings! $17.10 with drink order. Tried out a lot of the flavours.

First time here since my college days. I was pleasantly surprised by how chill the ambiance on the terrace is. Our server was really nice and funny. Their beers are reasonably priced too. Will definitely be returning!

Our server Bella was absolutely amazing! We came in with a large group and she was so patient the entire time. Chaos broke out but she still remained calm and took care of us. We all ordered an exuberant amount of drinks and she still was able to bring them all in great time with no issues! We love Bella and would come back just for her

Best go to pub in Ottawa. Everything is just $5 and also for that price they have great food option, staff is always nice and location is right in the heart of byword market.

I frequently attend Pub 101s “learn to book a room 101” comedy show on Tuesdays at 9:11pm. It’s always the same bartender, Jacob. He tries to offer us limes for our vodka sodas and they are usually out/inedible - but he has started offering us a little bit of lime juice instead! Perfect and delicious. Jake Storm hosted last week - very good, as always. Just disappointed he didn’t invite the person, Todd (?) who they all kept joking about. Christine had wonderful little spins she kept doing, LOVED THOSE. So fun Brytan (?) kept talking about this dog. Next time bring the dog - thanks! Cesar said… a lot… I forget…. I think because I’d be cancelled if I laughed at them as a white person (but again, I forget) Overall great show! I love getting there early and being able to score a booth seat. SO COMFY! Very excited to go this week!

Awesome place for price/quality. Monday wing night is my go to. The wings are amazing and the staff is pretty awesome too. I would give 4 stars but have to take one out cause of lack of tables and seats during winter.

Came from Toronto to celebrate a bday weekend and went 5 times over the trip. good food and drinks, service was okay, server walked from the bar and to another table beside us (where her friends were eating) 3 times and still forgot our drinks, the bartender ended up walking past and we asked him for our drinks. They do not care about covid protocol at all,multiple servers were going to tables where their friends were at, they would sit down at the table and pull their masks down to talk to them/hug them... in the middle of their shift. Covid or not it’s unprofessional. Our server had her mask down for a majority of her shift but then had the audacity to get upset with us when one of us walked in from a smoke with the mask down. They didn’t take any info for contract tracing one day but did for the next?

Good place with a beautiful ambiance. We just had beer. The food was very average. We asked fries to be topped with Cajun spice, which was good. Quesadia was very normal, all they did was stuff it with cheese and chicken. Felt very bland. So was their poutine. A bit disappointed with food.

Had a great time here on my birthday on Wednesday Great friendly staff. I asked politely if they could change the music from classic rock to more upbeat party music the gladly changed they music. The staff did a great job will be going back soon.

Please read fully! Early evening of summer. We stopped by after a walk in downtown to give this place a try. The prices seemed amazing. Beware.. there was one million tiny flies in the bathroom! As soon as I enters they filled the air! Disgusting at the best! The food.. an adult main chicken strip meal is literally almost three pieces of chicken fingers ( with fries) that’s a child size meal! The nachos were tasty but, .. only a thin layer of chips on the plate and that, was inedible as the checkered colours of palate had become part of the food! Definitely not appetizing or Safe to eat! Our waitress, the young lady in black was quiet hospitable, polite and kind. She definitely gets FIVE STARS! The outdoor patio is beautiful too BUT, such waste of location and hospitality. The food was bad!! We would definitely not be back!

Prices for lower town beer were less expensive by about 1.50$ each which is funny cause lower town is right across the street. Atmosphere was decent enough. Cleanliness was good enough. Would go back for beers if I was in the neighborhood again. Price of food was great but we had already eaten so we didn't try anything.

I went here this July, so they had a limited number of menu items and we had to sit on the patio. No worries though, I was just glad they were open. I had the fish and chips and it was incredible. The fries were good and the tartar sauce was homemade. I would highly recommend it. The price was fantastic too, if you order it with a drink. Not sure how long that promo is on for, but check this place out if you haven't already!

This is a typical student style pub in downtown with a more mature crowd at times. The food is average but enjoyable, the drinks are good and the service is acceptable. They are a bit slow at rush hour and in wing day, but it is a nice enough place you don’t mind a bit of a wait. Came for the location and stayed for the vibe.

I love this place, good price for the drinks. At least 7$ and the price for the food is affordable, 6$ but, you get the portion you pay for. All in all, the food is great and the drinks too. It's always my go to place. There's a small patio, which is nice on a sunny day and at night too!

Service was ok, there was a heated, sheltered outdoor patio though which was nice. Beer menu is not the greatest (no carona) but their wings were exceptional the last time I had them their about a year ago.

Beer was alright, however I wouldn't go there for food. Me and the fiancee was really disappointed with both our meal. I had the quinoa avocado salad which had a spoonful of quinoa and 3 piece of avocado hard as a rock. She had the power bowl and wasn't better. Good spot but not for food.

Food and drinks are very reasonably priced. Portion sizes on food are a little smaller, but still filling. The food was ok, we had chicken fingers and a burger, not great but ok, on the other hand the cocktails were amazing. Service was friendly but very slow, it was busy so it was understandable. Great place to go for drinks.

COVID: The food and drinks were great, cheap and enjoyable. Unfortunately we noticed all employees were crowded around the bar without masks on (or pulled down below their chins). Bartenders were mixing drinks without masks on, walking around as well. At least, the servers greeted clients with masks. I’m not one to complain, but with COVID, especially, it made me uncomfortable. Additionally, there was a hair in my drink. I understand mistakes happen, but with all the problems it made me very unsettled.

I do not do restaurant reviews, but I was very unhappy  with this Pub... I was in Ottawa from out of town with my sister and girlfriend.Went to Pub 101 for $10.00 supper specials. Food was horrible. Fish was dried out and just hard batter, no fish to be seen or tasted. Chips were dry and hard, couldn't even cut them with a knife.My sister's was the same.They could have been sitting under a hot light since last night for all the flavour and goodness they contained !And  they had the nerve to charge me for the mayo for my fries..My sister wasn't charged for her ketchup..?? How awful is that l!!?? There are  better places to go in Ottawa than here for sure ! Not recommended ! ZERO STARS....

We had a great time here. The bar tender lady was friendly eventhough she was very busy. She was the only one taking care of the drinks, the welcoming, serving the food, the beverages and charging. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of beers, nachos and poutine. My husband had dark beer and I had (suggested by the bartender) a light beer with orange and raspberry notes that was delicious. We truly recommend you visit this place to make a stop if you are shooping around or just visiting the area.

Good food at a very nice price. Staff were quite nice and warm. I would definitely go back. Satisfied.

For what it is, it is great. Good pricing, but a very simple menu for food is the only reason for three stars. The food I did have was good, but just not much selection. A fun spot overall. Better suited for a few drinks than dinner, in my opinion.

Very nice little pub/restaurant, to have a nice lunch. The service could have been faster, but considering the fact that the food was so good, I don't think I will complain more. It's well located, on York St, and the prices are fair, with portions that maybe could be just a tiny bit bigger. I loved eating at this restaurant, and when I come back to Ottawa, I want to go back.
