Had dinner and some pints with my brothers while visiting from Halifax and was blown away by Pour Boy. The atmosphere, price point, service, and quality of product were phenomenal! The two servers we had we both funny, personal, and quick! It's definitely a gem of a spot! I'll definitely be back and would recommend this spot to anyone!

Stopped by to try a few local beers. They took all covid precautions. We were the only patrons in the bar (early afternoon on a Monday) and record great service. I tried a few delicious beers and asked for a local shot recommendation (as we traveled from US), the bartender suggested the Burt Reynolds (spiced rum and butterscotch) and it was delicious. If you are from US, just know they only accept debit and cash!

Spent a Saturday evening roaming the streets of Ottawa trying to find a good bar and stumbled across Pour Boy. Free of all the fake English/Irish pub nonsense. No tourists apart from us. No attitude or fancy trappings. Just a no nonsense, dive bar with great beer selection and some of the best prices around. A really relaxed vibe, fast service and full of character.

A local dive bar. This place is a unique as their dress code states men must have moustaches and women must have died their hair within the last 6 months. Regardless it is a great place for a pint.

Nice spot for $5 pints and reasonably priced grub. Bartender provided some comic relief free of charge too.

I took a couple of visiting friends to the Pour boy, as they had seen the mural on the outside wall the last time they were in Ottawa and wanted to check it out. We had a great time. The food was on the average side, but for standard pub fare, decent and affordable. But we were there to drink beer and go to a restaurant later. Why people write Scathing reviews about the food in establishments that principally sell beer is beyond me. would they go to a five-star restaurant and slam the place for having a slightly warm ale? (Yes, they probably would) For decent priced beer and grub if you need it, the atmosphere brings it to a solid 4

Always good prices and good service. The different sections of the bar have all different moods. Sometimes people wander onto the patio to tell their stories and ask for money.

I’d like to give a higher rating but seeings how my gf and I sat there for over 10 mins without anyone acknowledging that we were there, I can’t. Yes, the staff knew we were there, just chose to ignore us. Get new staff, as someone who’s worked in the industry for years, the one waitress I saw was absolutely abysmal. Too busy hanging with friends and taking selfies to do her job. Too bad, I’ve heard good things about this place, just never got to experience any past sitting at a table.

The Pourboy's Disastrous Experience: Rude Server and Slow Service Ruin the Visit My recent visit to The Pourboy was nothing short of a nightmare. Our server, Sidra, not only displayed a shockingly rude demeanor but also took it upon herself to play the role of an authority figure, intentionally cutting us off after just two single shots of tequila within a span of two hours. Her slow service only added fuel to the fire. It's baffling that someone who claims to have received her smart serve certification lacks the basic knowledge of properly serving quantities and seeking guidance from superiors when unsure. To make matters worse, Sidra's unprofessional behavior extended to her initial greeting. She approached our table with crossed arms and a sassy attitude, uttering the words, "Can I help you?" This dismissive and unwelcoming manner is not how customers should be greeted, undermining any sense of hospitality. I strongly recommend that The Pourboy take immediate action to retrain Sidra in customer service and instill in her a positive body language and verbal attitude. It is crucial for servers to understand the importance of treating customers with respect and courtesy, rather than engaging in power trips and displaying a dismissive demeanor. However, amidst the chaos, I would like to express my gratitude towards another server at The Pourboy. This Caucasian server, slightly larger in body size and sporting a tattoo on her hand, was an oasis of kindness in an otherwise disastrous experience. Her warm and accommodating nature stood in stark contrast to Sidra's behavior, and she deserves recognition for her exceptional customer service. Furthermore, I must acknowledge the bartenders at The Pourboy for their top-quality beverages. Despite the overall unpleasant experience, the skill and craftsmanship of the bartenders shone through in the flavorful and well-crafted drinks they served. In summary, The Pourboy's visit was marred by the rude and power-tripping behavior of our server, Sidra. Her intentional cutting off after two shots of tequila within two hours, along with slow service, only added to the disappointment. I strongly urge The Pourboy to retrain Sidra on customer service and emphasize positive body language and verbal communication. I appreciate the kindness displayed by the other server with a larger body size and a tattoo on her hand, as well as the bartenders for their top-quality beverages.

The most disappointing Uber eats order I have made in years. Small portions. Bad Pad Thai. Missing half plate on the perogies - no sour cream, no chives. Would not recommend

I love this place. Drinks are cheaper than anywhere else in downtown and the food is delicious. The pub itself is lovely, and on Friday nights they have bingo night. Such a hidden gem and definitely my favourite place in Ottawa.

A small and very cheap pub. Well priced beer, although they get you a bit by not letting you order 20+ oz at once. Funny bingo host, friendly staff, enjoyable time. I highly recommend!

Cheap food, cheap beers, pretty good spot if you live in the area and just wanna grab a drink with some friends. It's nothing totally impressive but that's not the point, it feels more homely than anything. You're there for the drinks and company, and you can't beat the pricing. Their events can be a good time too.

Our go to hangout spot! Great food and drinks at a really affordable price which doesn't take away from the quality mind you. Overall, a must visit to anyone in the area as we personally tend to visit them over and over again, and they never fail to impress.

Pour Boy Pub is a hidden gem with a vibrant atmosphere, offering delicious pub fare. The friendly staff and cozy ambiance make it a perfect spot for casual gatherings or a laid-back evening out. Definitely check it out!

I’ve had multiple great experiences here! Really great prices, and all the food I’ve had was really good. Chef made a small mistake on a poutine and let us keep the one with the mistake, as well as brought out the correct order himself. Only thing we didn’t enjoy was the Pour Boy Sunrise… great for getting drunk, but tasted like straight tequila. Treasure island is fire though!

I always have an amazing time the couple of times I've been the bartender is the nicest funniest person and the crowd is hilarious. I'm definitely coming back for another grilled cheese!

  • 2/5 Lucien T. 1 year ago on Google
Their house lager had zero carbonation. Not just no head but completely flat. Not so much as a single bubble. Get a can of something if you're going because they can't (won't) manage a keg. Bartender couldn't be bothered

  • 5/5 Terry S. 1 year ago on Google
Loved the place. It's a little tiny bar with great atmosphere, good food at even better prices. And the bartender/waitress was amazing. Too thumbs way the **** up.

A group of friends and I went to a show at TD place and we couldn't find a pub that had room for us. I called Pour Boy and asked if they had room for us and they set aside a table for us until we got there. Once we got there we had a bite to eat and some pints. We had great service and the food and drinks were great as well. I highly recommend Pour Boy if you want to have a great time at a pub hanging out with friends.

And awesome, cozy bar with ridiculously low prices for beer. Service is always awesome and I love to come here after work to slam a few pints. Word of warning, it can get pretty loud as it's a bit cramped but I think it adds to the vibe. Would definitely recommend

Had some sour beers here on Monday April 27th. Both the servers downstairs were great. I dropped a $10 bill and the server came outside to give it to me. I’m a fan.

  • 5/5 michele d. 1 year ago on Google
Pour boy always has the best and most down to earth staff! Their beer is cheap and the patio area is super nice! All in all I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't mind a bit of a dive bar feel. Upstairs is also a great little area to rent for larger parties/karaoke/trivia!

  • 5/5 Dragonlord j. 1 year ago on Google

Visited a few times and service is usually really inattentive (Even on really slow days when there's only 4-5 people) but at least they're really friendly when they eventually come around! Food is good and they have great cocktails. Overall great place with a friendly vibe.

  • 5/5 Stuart M. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful local pub. The staff are friendly and provide good service. We never waited too long for our server, but she also didn't hover. It was a busy night, which often means long waits, but it didn't! They were prompt in coming around initially and in checking back in periodically. Our food and drinks came quickly too. We'll absolutely be back and are excited about having a great neighborhood local.

Came here for drinks after some karaoke. Vibe was nice, service was meh. Took 20 minutes to get our bill after asking after last call. Seams that they need more POS terminals cause they can only cash out one table at a time.

Went in for some brunch with family members and we all decided to order different menu items. We enjoyed the food and the portions were filling including the Delta Gator Benedict, The Legend (see photo), and Chicken and Waffles (see photo). Don't expect a fancy looking restaurant but the friendly service, food, portions and of course price easily made up for that. Looking forward to going back soon.

Love this spot but was just rudely basically kicked out by a guy I've never seen working there before for being 5 people? There was 3 free tables. Only leaving this review because this is a great spot and did not expect that treatment from them. Update: Was reached out to and sounds like this was resolved. My favourite spot in the city!

This place is a gem! If you are looking for a solid local bar with cheap food, drinks, and entertainment dont look any further. Their fried chicken and kashmir poutine are great! They have daily entertainment/activities with no cover charge and the atmosphere is just amazing. Since I moved into the neighborhood, I've been going twice a week :D

  • 5/5 Tom Y. 3 years ago on Google
Budget beer bottoms up. No more alliterations I can think of. 5$ house draft. Almost as cheap as buying your own beer. Forget all the mixed reviews about the food: it's a standard pub, can you really expect restaurant quality food? Can you expect even good takeout/Uber eats? Let's be real, they make the true margins off of the alcohol and you are the happiest drinking the alcohol.

  • 5/5 Jessica B. 7 months ago on Google
Cozy inexpensive pub with lovely staff! A bit weird when you have to walk through a furry rave to get to the upstairs bathroom, but not a complaint. And I am guessing that's not always a thing? Made for a trippy first bathroom break!

  • 5/5 Alice 3 years ago on Google
Excellent quality and value - Would definitely recommend! Meal prices are exceptional - a good 30-40% lower than similar places. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. Portions were generous. All packaging was compostable. Curb-side pickup available so your all money goes to the restaurant instead of a portion going to companies like Uber. 😉 Will definitely order from again!

I was here with a group of friends last Sunday for brunch. I had the Louisiana Crocodile Benedict 2 pieces of Cornbread topped with blackened crocodile, poached eggs and a Creole hollandaise; served with homefries & fruit cup. I’ve never in my life eaten crocodile and I have to say I’d eat this exact thing again. The flavours were so tasty. Highly recommend this place. Super chill, laid back place. A must for brunch!

  • 4/5 Fredy 2 years ago on Google
A lovely locale in the heart of Centertowne with a great menu selection, decent prices and friendly staff. My one issue is that they don't accept credit card payment so you may be caught off guard if that's all you carry.

A great, casual spot that is criminally underrated. A good atmosphere, friendly staff, and great prices on food and drink make this a must for anyone living in Downtown/Centretown, or anyone looking to avoid the market crowds or the big franchised pubs.

Decent little pub with really cheap food and drinks, their split pea and ham soup is quite good and the service is decent – no complaints. I'd happily come back.

Good pub, and decent food options for cheap. Environment was nice, except the waitress we had upstairs was quite rude and never seemed in a good mood.
