Great food, I really enjoyed the Yorkie Bowl with gravy. And the scotch eggs were so delicious! My partner really enjoyed his fish and chips too.

This was our 3rd visit in 6 months. Twice in 2 days. These pictures are from today. Food was great hence why we went back again. Yesterday's server remembered us and gave us a great seat. I had a pan seared fish. Delicious!! My wife had a Salisbury steak which also was delicious. I just wanna say that I will recommend this place to anyone. Please give it a try you will not be disappointed. If you are you don't like food.

Pleasantly surprised! My meal wasnt nearly as dense as I thought it would be. Still not sure what "neeps* are, but know I don't care for them very much. The Yorkie bowl, on the other hand, I cared a great deal for! Steak was tender and juicy, Yorkshire was crisp and delicious... Hearty gravy and mashed potatoes... Rounded out by their Scottish "flyte" of beers. All told, a very satisfying meal!

I came to this place with a Scottish friend and was amazing. Today I invited my family to taste the food. Next time I think in a pub I will be there.

Just moved to the area and tried The Glen around 2pm on a Wednesday. I was SO surprised by this place! The staff I met were easily the warmest and most welcoming I've ever encountered, so cheery and enthusiastic. I tried my first ever Scotch Egg. It was quite good, the house-made tomato marmalade was odd yet it worked well with it. I really don't know much about Scottish cuisine, but I had thought a Scotch Egg was supposed to be runny yolk'd and unpierced, this one was hard yolk'd and sliced in half - a nice presentation. The Yorkie Pie was phenomenal, it's gravy was top notch. Entirely satisfied with this place, I expect I will return many times. Give it a try.

Looking for a delicious bite to eat while enjoying drinks with special company and listening to live music? The Glen has the perfect atmosphere and food just for that! Their famous fish and chips are amazing! Made super crispy and steaming hot. Their fish and chips pair especially well with their fries and a nice drink! ๐ŸŸ We ordered two orders of their classic battered fish and one order of their battered Cajun fish. The size of their fish was plenty enough! Amazing atmosphere and service. Definitely recommend if youโ€™re looking to get a taste of great Scottish food and amazing atmosphere with live music!

The food was tasty, but the veggie pot pie could have been more heartier (personal opinion but would've subbed the edamame/red pepper for peas/mushrooms/chickpeas/cauliflower). Overall, we had a good experience and our server was so kind and helpful, so would definitely recommend and return. Also, heard that they may be bringing more veggie options in the future (like vegetarian gravy for the poutine)! So that's something to look out for next time :)

Really good spot. We only had a few munchies but they were all delicious. The batter on the fried pickles and zucchini was thick, crispy and not greasy at all. The sausage roll was a bit dry and overcooked for my liking but that just might be personal preference. It was served with HP sauce but I found it overpowered the flavours too much. I would have preferred something like a beer/honey mustard. The star of the show was the mini Scottish meat pies appetizer. Our server was awesome! Definitely want to go back again.

Came here since The Highland pub doesn't exist anymore (๐Ÿ’”). We went early Sunday evening, our experience overall was ok but I don't think we'll go back. It was a very hot and humid day and inside had zero AC. We got so happy to see Innis & Gunn on tap but they served us the IPA version instead of the original and even insisted that it was the right one. 10 minutes later we got told they were out of the original so we ordered cider and a different beer. I ordered the lemon fish and chips with mashed potatoes instead of chips. The fillet of haddock had a crispy breadcrumb breading, the potatoes were half mashed, might have a bit of butter but no cream or seasoning. Our friend ordered the Cajun fish, it wasn't spicy. Curry sauce was tasty but came pretty late. The chips were good. Yorkshire pud with braised beef was good. A musician was playing folk songs in the corner.

Voted "Best fish 'n chips in Ottawa" for a reason...because they're awesome! The service was AMAZING. Very helpful, polite, and fast. The pieces were very generous in size, and they have a great selection of batter. Tried the following two: Traditional batter -- light batter Cajun breaded -- a little spicy but very flavorful Next time I'll try the beer batter which looked golden and crispy. The fries were good but I felt like the portion could be increased a little. Great place, great food, wish they had a location closer to centre town so I can visit more often!

As others have mentioned, solid fish and chips. Lots of beer on offer on tap. Would definitely return to try some of the other fish dishes.

The atmosphere was delightful and the food was fantastic. I had the Cajun pan seared fish with neeps and it was amazing. The dill tartar sauce was delicious. Was a very pleasant surprise for a Sunday night dinner.

I want so badly for this restaurant to do well, but they have consistently demonstrated poor quality control with very tasty food. Generally if you order their nachos thereโ€™s about a 50/50 chance for them to be burnt. That was a chance Iโ€™ve been willing to take [up until now] because their food is so good. However, I think today Iโ€™ve reached my final straw: we received nachos paired with no sour cream and a fish sandwich instead of the chicken sandwich that we ordered. Be warned, youโ€™re playing with fire if you order delivery from Glen Scottish.

First time visiting this place. Foods are definitely delicious. We just thought the Haggis would be a bit bigger? But they were tasty regardless. Yorkshire bowl is huge and filling. Drinks were made perfectly. Great ambiance. We will be back.

Starting with the good....service was great and servers were very friendly. Cons: Fish was overdone and dry and was plated with burnt side down, so we wouldn't notice. I didn't really like the thick cut fries, but everybody has their own preference for the thickness of fries. I didn't complain to servers because they were so nice. Will not return here...at least not for the fish.

Wonderful afternoon sitting in their outdoor seating area, under an umbrella and perfect weather! Enjoyed the Clam Chowder and my sister the Cajun Fish Sandwich. She thoroughly enjoyed her lunch. Service was great and wasn't too busy. ๐Ÿ‘

The fish and chips are delicious. Great portion sizes too. Would only recommend the normal tartar sauce though - wasn't a fan of their spicy version.

Awesome food at a great price! I was really pleased with my experience at The Glen. Our server was wonderful, as was all the other staff we interacted with. The food portions were large, especially given the reasonable pricing. The onions were quite underdone for my liking, and that would be my only criticism (which I would mention next time). We went on a Thursday for the date night special, but found that there was a limited menu for that promotion that we were unaware of (this wasn't mentioned on the website), and just ordered from the regular menu. Overall, a great experience and we will certainly go again.

I donโ€™t usually dole out 5 stars but everything about our experience yesterday was just so amazing! Staff were friendly and prompt. Our server was super helpful and enthusiastic sharing information about the menu items. We had a Scotch egg. It looked pricy on the menu for one egg but it was massive and delicious! Just the right amount of crisp and flavourful. Hubby had the Yorkie bowl. The meat was so tender and the whole dish was very good. I had the Scotch Meat Mini Pies. Loved the flavours! We had mashed potatoes and neeps as our side. It was refreshing to eat mashed at a restaurant that tasted homemade, and not out of a bag. And only the Glen could make a turnip mixture (neeps) taste so darn good. :-) I loved loved the atmosphere. The dark wood, the lighting, clean and spacious, soft music and we appreciated the tvs werenโ€™t blaring at that time. Made it possible for us to have and hear our conversations. Highly recommend and we have to go back now as I want to try everything on the menu!

Went there today (Wed Aug 18th) with four friends for lunch. Had a great time. No pressure to eat and leave. Waitress was Debbie, and she was great - looked after us, was fun, etc. We ordered: - one deep fried zucchini - two fish burgers - one fish tacos - one beer battered fish & chips, plus various drinks. Food was excellent - my dish - fish and chips - were nicely done. Would have liked a few more chips, and somehow missed the tartar sauce (could have been my mistake). One of our group ordered dessert, and it looked sinful. He did not complain. I also ordered some take-out - two scotch eggs plus one chicken curry pie and one steak & ale pie with mushrooms. I opted for mashed potatoes for both pies and they both came with beeps. Steak & ale pie also came with gravy. Pies, potatoes, and beeps were delicious but would suggest gravy be included with mashed potatoes. For dinner, we reheated pies, potatoes, and beeps in microwave. Would be helpful to have chefโ€™s suggestions as to how high and for how long. I did 5 minutes at 50% for the steak & ale pie and, although it was very good, it was a bit dry. So, maybe some more gravy. Potatoes were delicious. Scotch eggs were a bit dry. Maybe theyโ€™re just not suited for take-out and re-heating. Weโ€™ve had them before, when dining indoors at The Glen, and they were delicious. All in all, another great experience. Keep it up Debbie!

Great fish and chips! Iโ€™ve been going here since 1998 when it was in Kanata! Always get great service and the food is fresh and delicious! Most recent visit I had fish and chips. Very good!

Had the 2 fish and chips dinner. One piece beer battered and the other curry breaded. The portion was absolutely huge and both pieces were fantastic. Ordered a side salad which was simple but very fresh and excellent as well. Finished off with a piece of their lemon cheesecake, and it to was very tasty. Very impressed and wasn't quite expecting such a great experience. Will return for sure when I'm up here in Ottawa.

We had a large group of 15 for Sunday lunch and we were treated so well! All meals came out at the same time, nice and hot, and were all delicious. The attention paid to small details made our visit truly exceptional. Service was impeccable. We will definitely return again!

The Glen is amazing! The food was delicious and quickly served. I had the Yorkie bowl (tender meat, topped with mashed potatoes, onions and gravy for the top all on a bed of a huge Yorkshire pudding) and it was so good. Another in my party had the fish tacos and they said they were delicious as well. Everyone is extremely friendly and personable. There is live music sometimes, but you can be seated on the side of the restaurant that is a bit quieter if thatโ€™s not your thing. The restaurant isnโ€™t huge, but it does have high quality food. Thereโ€™s decent parking since itโ€™s by a small strip mall. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back!

Ok so to get straight to the point, The Glen has the BEST Fish & Chips I've had. I absolutely love Fish & Chips so I try it out wherever and whenever I can, and The Glen just takes the throne and the crown for being the best at their craft. I live in California and whenever I'm in town I always drop by for a nice dinner. The atmosphere is very nice too. Just a friendly and hearty place to enjoy an amazing meal with friends and family. The staff are wonderful as well, very friendly and nice. I look forward to going back in a few months!

Very friendly service. Great atmosphere. Free refills on drinks which not many places do these days. AMAZING food. I had a Scotch egg appetizer and haggis as my entree. For those who've never had haggis before, it tastes like really good sausage and I highly recommend it. The neeps (turnip and carrot) were like my mom used to make. A bit of a drive from where I live, but so worth it.

  • 3/5 Derek S. 7 months ago on Google
Was drawn in by good reviews and a dish near to my heart, Stuffed Yorkshire pudding. Unfortunately, the dish and service came up a bit short. While the beef was tender, and mash smooth, the onions were a bit plain and the Yorkie barely recognizable. Service was pretty prompt and to the point, but forgot a water which I asked for twice. I may give them another shot as the fish and chips does still look tempting.

Greeted warmly by both the lady at the door and our server who was hilarious! Attentive and smiling the whole time. Lovely to have some haggis, neeps and chips while my friend had the Scotch pies with neeps and yam fries! ( generous portions meant we both have lunch for today)

  • 5/5 Mark F. 11 months ago on Google
Probably the best fish and chips place in the region. They offer 2 pieces but DON'T do it! They are huge. Many choices of batters or no batter at all. Many other food items as choices as well. Fries are also home made. You get a real Scottish feel from the place. You can even get haggis if you are so inclined.

  • 3/5 Bridgitte B. 9 months ago on Google
The food tastes great and the outdoor dining is lovely especially on a nice evening. The staff could be more friendly and the wait time to get your food was rather long. Our waitress wasnโ€™t too interested in serving us. But was very chatty with one other table which may have been the bosses. If she gave the same energy to us it could have been a wonderful experience.

Scottished owned for many years I had not been for 20 years (moved) but was not disappointed. 70s jukebox type music, TVs on sports but no sounds to bug you, friendly staff and we spaced and partitioned tables and booths. Uk pub type food and beers. I had the haggis was good not great, my husband had the liver was also good. Will try stake and kidney pie next. Sticky toffee pudding was great.

Taking it back to my family roots. The food is honestly so amazing! I had an appointment this afternoon close to The Glen. I decided to pop in for a quick bite beforehand. The waitress was quick, friendly and always helpful. The food came out fast, hot, and so delicious. The waitress even got my bill early for me because I was in a rush. I really wish there were more places like this restaurant. Itโ€™s everything you would look for. The best fish and chips in Ottawa and surrounding for sure.

We wanted to try The Glen based on its reviews on the fish and chips. The dinner was for a party of 8 and at a cost just under $300.00. I'm sorry, but we will not be going back to this place. The Fish and chips were very oily(Battered x5 orders) or way to crispy dry(Breaded x1 order) without any taste until you covered it with tarter sauce. The other 2 orders was Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and Traditional Burger. The Salad was $18.30, and again the grilled chicken had no taste. The Burger looked like it might have been bought from a box store and cooked from frozen. Special coffees were ordered, with menu prices of $9.25 each and was charged $12.25. The service was great, and staff very friendly. Maybe the cook might have had a bad day, we will not be returning.
