Had a late lunch here on the patio. It's dog friendly and staff make sure your dog gets water too! I had the steak sandwich with caesar salad. I found the sandwich to be a bit soggy, the sub bun wasn't toasted which I felt would make a big difference. Caesar salad was good, although it did have too much dressing.

Have had a good brunch there in the past, nothing special, but a decent, diner style brunch. This time was awful though. They have an infestation of wasps currently and my friend, Jay Ferguson, got stung. And the food was not good this time. The sausage in the English Breakfast was inedible: it must have been in their warming dish for 3 days, it was dry and rubbery, and I had to spit it out after one bite (same with my friend, Jay Ferguson, who tried it). All in all, the food was just not good. Will continue our search for a Stoneface Dolly’s replacement. #ripStonefaceDollys

This is an awesome pub. The food is so very good. The waitress was so amazing. The place is very well clean. The French Canadian meat pie was very delicious. Chicken wings are very good. Highly recommended

Friendly staff, food was good, patio is nice. Although they have stairs down into their main entrance there is a ramp to the patio and then into the restaurant - no idea how accessible this is during winter. Was able to find a gluten free vegetarian option for lunch.

Yesterday was first and probably my last visit. This place is nice overall, but the way I was kicked out from, its nonces! In about closing time without any verbal warning security people pushing me out applying force for no reason. I attended so many places at Ottawa, but this one I gues, have most offencive rules tovards their customers. It's unnaceptable and disgusting Not for people over 30

Came here the other week with some friends and really enjoyed it. The line up was long but it went by fairly quickly. The bouncers at the front door were nice and welcoming. The DJ was fantastic and played great music all night. We mostly stayed in the room closest to the entrance because everywhere else was very crammed but we still enjoyed our time. The bartenders there were great and I don't have any complaints about our drinks. Came back to try the food a few days later. Their french onion soup and nachos were absolutely fantastic! Service was great and there's a great selection for beer. Definitely recommend coming either for dinner or at night on weekends!

Came here with girlfriends for Sunday brunch. We were able to get a streetside patio table. The wasps were rampant during our visit but the staff-bless them, did their best to subvert the pests. I had the big English breakfast and it was filling and good post-hangover. I couldn't even finish it all. I found the sausage on the dry side, but I appreciate the fresh fruit that accompanies the order. Staff were attentive and friendly. Popular with thr locals so try to reserve a table in advance.

The staff is very friendly and the food is served very fast. I loved this restaurant. The place is very large and they can host a lot of people. In the summer there is service available at the terrace. I had the basil pesto sandwich and my mom the rib eye steak sandwich. We both had soups on top of the sandwiches, and they were simply amazing. All the food we had was very tasty and rich. I would definitely come back for a beer in the summer or for another lunch anytime soon. I would recommend to anyone visiting the city.

I was here some days ago and I had the bbq wings&fries, the Bbq wings tasted like it was over fried/too dry but I love the ranch sauce dip it came with.....Our host (an elderly woman)was really friendly and suggested beers for my husband to try,I didnt get her name cause she was so busy waiting alot of tables. I rated 4stars cause of my chicken wings asides that everything else was good.

We loved the service and the food. I hadn't been in more than ten years but it was still the same clean, polished, cozy Lieutenant's Pub! Thank you to the staff who keep it as comfortable and fun as ever : )

Awful. Rude manager. Horrible, overpriced food. Came in for lunch and our shoes stuck to the floor because it was so filthy. Clearly sexist because all staff are female. Do not recommend. This place is living in the 50’s. Can’t understand how it’s still open.

When we were looking for a place to meet as a big group, we were glad we came here, they reserved a special corner for 27 people. We had dinner and drinks from 7:00 until about 11:00 and then the place was full of music and a lot of fun. The service was fast and they never let such a big group down. We will definitely come again.

Settled in a saddled up to the bar shortly after they opened on a Tuesday afternoon, and it was already filling up. The pub is pretty expansive than it looks not including the patio space they have in the warmer months. I ordered some classic Tourtière to help soak up some of the ale's i had off the expansive tap. They offer a bus to Sens games which attracted me to this pub, far better than sitting in a rideshare stuck in traffic!

  • 4/5 Paul S. 3 months ago on Google • 5 reviews New
They have a nice selection of British beers and the atmosphere of a traditional pub. I used to frequent this place 25 years ago and recently came back and was pleased to see that the only change was that it had expanded. The place is very spacious.

  • 5/5 Stephanie B. 1 year ago on Google
This place is neat! I'd never been before, it's a bit of a maze which makes it all the more charming, with 3 or more bars all tucked away into different corners of the pub. The food was rather decent, and the service was great. I'd like to back sometime just for the semi, underground, cosy brick wall ambiance!

  • 3/5 Robin B. 1 year ago on Google
This place hasn't changed a bit. If you like old reliable? If you like a great patio This is your place. Elgin as far as I'm concerned has declined even after the "Reno". It just doesn't have the Vibe it used to. There used to be an " energy" on Elgin but it just looks to be a shadow of its former self. Just being honest. Soul Food.....needs Soul!

  • 5/5 Terry H. 1 year ago on Google
A great patio and a great choice of beers. They serve full sized 20oz beers too. I was expecting a British menu (as it's called a British pub) but no chance, it was the typical North American menu with wings, nachos, etc. So we didn't eat.

  • 5/5 Mallory S. 2 years ago on Google
The pictures posted online of this place do not do it justice. You need to ear in the restaurant for the full experience. The service was amazing! We were 4 adults and 1 children. I wish I remembered our servers name. She was fantastic with everyone and very attentive. The food was great and the decor had us awestruck!

  • 5/5 Natalie A. 2 years ago on Google
The Salmon Meal exceeded expectations! Highly recommend! Our server also took extra steps to get us dessert after the kitchen closed! My best culinary experience in Ottawa/Outouais in the past 5 years! The food was made to perfection! Thank you to the Chef and Sous Chef's of the evening!

I love this place. I have tried burger nachos and ... the food is reasonably good. Very polite staff. I like their sour bear its called Jelly king 😋. But be careful I found this place a bit mismanaged for reservations when you want to have Birthday gatherings or .... for example they accepted to do the decoration but they didn't had helium gas for balloons and they reversed wrong table for us. But overally, I give this place 5 stars. And it's my first choice for weekend.

  • 5/5 Bruno L. 1 year ago on Google
Nicest waitress we ever had the pleasure to encounter. My girlfriend and I were charmed by the service and the food came quick too. Only negative point was the hostess who did not seem to like a job at all. I thought it was maybe a one time deal, but when I left I saw two guys getting answered in a similarly nonchalant manner and they commented on it. That interaction does not represent the establishment and I hope customers won't get turned off by it.

  • 3/5 Drew G. 1 year ago on Google
The food was tasty but unfortunately cold, i think it was cause they were to busy with to many new staff, but the cocktails were delicious and well done, tons of options, and the staff even tho were busy, still friendly. Our waitress gave a discount for the food that was very appreciated. Looking forward to coming back for a some hot food, and hopefully give 5 stars. Thank you

Great food and fun. The staff is great. A very old pub with charm . We walked around, very big. We saw several bars in different areas. Go and see a great blast from the past. Highly recommend this place!

Our go-to spot for a sold brunch at a reasonable price. Really appreciate the selection of sides and ability to add items for cheap. The outdoor patio +TV setup is great for watching sports and the interior has a very unique, old-school vibe.

  • 4/5 Lise G. 2 years ago on Google
I enjoyed my time at this restaurant. It was wheelchair accessible and the staff were great with making it easy to get around and to a good table. The food was great! And I really enjoyed the spicy soup that I had at the start of my meal. It was affordable with a good range of food prices to be able to eat a good meal and not break the bank. I would recommend this restaurant for a meal or a night out with friends or even by yourself for a drink and a snack.

  • 5/5 Tubtim C. 2 years ago on Google
I was happily surprised by the food - Pan fried salmon, brussel sprouts and kale were delicious and affordable! I just did not expect such a great dish at a bar! Their pudding was also delicious and I'll definitely go back just for them.

Nice place with a great aesthetics. A little bit crazy busy on a Saturday night but if one is into that then it's a great spot for it. I would probably like to come on a quieter weeknight and take in the atmosphere without wall-to-wall people.

  • 4/5 Caroline L. 1 year ago on Google
Drink and atmosphere are great. Especially in the winter it's super cozy and warm. The food could be better. The basic pubs foods are good so I would stick to that if your ordering food.

  • 4/5 Robin S. 1 year ago on Google
This was my go to pub for 20 years before covid hit. This visit was my first time back since then. Great service decent selection of beers. I like tgat it is divided into seperated smaller areas as well as the larger main bar. Kind if like tge snugs in English pubs. I can't give it five stars though until they bring back the Sunday roast beed dinner. When they do, I'll update my review. 😄

Kind waitress, attentive staff. Clean and warm atmosphere. Great food! The potato skins made me feel like I was back home in the maritimes. Good amount of variety! Definitely coming back again! Just be aware that it's downtown so parking is sparse.

  • 5/5 Simon G. 1 year ago on Google
Very nice pub, bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. Very large selection of beers and nice meal choices. Been there a very long time but has kept up. Near the end of a popular evening entertainment district so no parking lot but lots of space in the surrounding community.

  • 4/5 The Pyroghoul (. 1 year ago on Google
Went on Saint Pat's. Very different atmosphere than usual. Only served drinks, but makes sense for the nature of the celebration. Biggest draw back is line cutters when at capacity, but that can't really be helped beyond their bouncers' lines of sight. Definitely better recommend trying it sans holiday celebrations, though, because it gets incredibly loud and incredibly packed.

  • 5/5 Kyle K. 1 year ago on Google
The best wings, great beer selection, and wonderful service. Victoria is the most joyful individual we've had the pleasure of interacting with at a restaurant. Highly recommend this location, and we'll continue to return every week.

This was my first time at the pump. I came into town to catch a Leafs and Senators game. We took the bus from the pump to the game and back and it was definitely an experience. Leafs fans and Senators fans all mix together with alcohol and good times. We also ate dinner at the pump before we went to the game and the food was good and the beer was cold and if I’m ever back in Ottawa, I’ll definitely stop in again.

  • 5/5 Lauri O. 11 months ago on Google
The pesto chicken wrap was delicious, fries well cooked and not soggy which is always a plus. Service was consistent even as more people started arriving and our server in particular was very attentive.

  • 5/5 Chas A. 9 months ago on Google
Fantastic service in a very busy location. Two levels of patio as well as an indoor seating area, and caters to a wide range of ages in the evening. Service was too notch and their wait staff was on point with recommendations from food to drink, including a timely coffee when it got late.

  • 4/5 Austin G. 9 months ago on Google

Excellent party venue! We have celebrated two milestone birthdays in the space of five years, each time with 30 + guests. The most recent one was last Friday, and what a success! Thank you John and Catherine for your attentive service and providing us with an excellent space for our group. Party at the Pump - you will be well taken care of!

First time here. The place was amazing! Atmosphere was great. Service was great. Now the food….Omg the best I have ate in a very long time. Highly recommend the Honey Mustard chicken wrap. Omg it was out of this world! Prices were very reasonable and definitely well worth the money! Thank you for a great experience.

I'm pumped at how incredible this place is. Drinks? Check. Food? Check. Paying for tonic separately to improve the g&t experience? Check. Vibes? Check. Individual washrooms? Check. What more is there in life? What possibly could you lack that this place doesn't have to offer? Much love, stay silly

Authentic pub atmosphere. Plenty of local beer offerings and others as well. And bonus... Wednesdays are a great day to go if you like chicken wings. All are half price. Also of note they used to do breakfast/brunch, but no longer do.

  • 4/5 Derek M. 4 months ago on Google
I don't understand the lack of parking in downtown. I'd never open a business there. But that's not this places fault. Best part about it was the service. The atmosphere was exactly what I thought it would be. Probably exactly what you think it will be.

My girlfriend and I went to Lieutenant's Pump for breakfast, and enjoyed our meal. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and quite enjoyed the flavor. I typically prefer my poached eggs done well, so while they were a bit runny, that was no fault of theirs because I forgot to ask when ordering. My girlfriend got the "Eggs any style", and was very pleased with her meal. The food was tasty, and the service was excellent. They had a lot of people working, but as it got busier we could see why. Despite dealing with a lot of people, we never went more than 3-5 minutes without someone checking in on coffee, how the food was, etc. This was not our first visit to the Pump, but as always, we came away impressed. Would certainly recommend it to anyone that was looking for good food and a welcoming, cozy atmosphere!

  • 5/5 Ken St. J. 5 years ago on Google
Every time I have been here the staff have been amazing, the food is delicious, and well priced for the quality. My only sadness is that they don't do breakfast on weekdays, and I'm personally not a fan of their gravy, as I like mine a bit more robust. However there are plenty of other menu items to choose from, and they have excellent specials often as well!

Great service! Super fast to be seated but the Fries were literally the worst I have ever had in 28 years of life:( but the server took them back and took the 4 bucks off my tab even though I just expected to pay for it. It made up for it. Would go back indefinitely

One of the best pins in Ottawa. Unique layout with many nooks and crannies. Food is terrific and solid beer selection. Sad that it doesn't offer the prime rib dinner anymore, but their comfort food selection is pretty good.

  • 5/5 Maggie M. 2 years ago on Google
Some of the BEST food! I got a mushroom and swiss burger and it was great. But the drinks can put their food to shame, there is a great selection of different cocktails that taste amazing! We were sat at around 9:30pm, which is late for dinner, yet the kitchen ran everything at a great pace, I never felt rushed or like they wanted us out to turn over the table. Service was also great and made sure we were always happy. I will be coming back! This will for sure be a new favourite when I am near Elgin.

  • 5/5 Jessica M. 2 years ago on Google
By the looks of it, this place doesn't need another raving Google review, but here I am anyway! We dropped in for drinks an apps after our dinner on Elgin and had an awesome time.
