Although I live in downtown Ottawa, I don't mind driving to Nepean to come to this pub, as this is my favourite Royal Oak in the city. On my latest trip here with my family, we ordered a variety of dishes (Philly cheesesteak, fish and chips, French onion soup, pub chips) that were quite good. Our waitress was also very attentive, while the atmosphere was laid back. Left happy with our overall experience.

The food was pretty good, but they aren't careful about food sensitivities. I ordered the London Dip, which comes with Swiss cheese. I was very specific that I did not want cheese (I am very lactose intolerant). When I got it, it had traces of cheese on the corners, but not inside. Obviously they had made it with cheese, then realized their mistake, and instead of remaking it, they peeled most of the cheese off. (You can clearly see the traces of cheese in the photo). I'm glad I noticed that and was able to quickly eat a Lactase pill. I pointed it out when the waitress eventually came back, but by then I had eaten most of it - I was able to show the cheese on the corners. I basically got a mild apology. Obviously there is no concern for food intolerances. This could have been fairly serious for me if I did not notice.

Wonderful place, great food, lovely outdoor area and plenty of TVs if you want to catch your favorite team play.

We have had food delivered from here, but yesterday was the first time we went in person. The best thing was the staff - super friendly and helpful. Had the fish and chips - very good! One piece of fish is HUGE - glad I didn't order the 2-piece. Sat on the patio. Tables are very well spaced out. Everything was very clean, and the flower planters on the patio are a nice touch.

We came with a group of six people. They quickly found a table for us and took our order. The atmosphere is light and cheerful. The food is delicious, the beer is cold. I recommend visiting😊

We were a group of six and wanted to sit outside and the manager on duty refused to put 2 tables together ! Without even giving an explanation ….the restaurant was completely empty and it makes no sense why you would not want to accommodate paying customers. We did not even see the manager the server did the dirty work .

Stick with a burger... If I got the burger or maybe typical pub fare I would probably give it 3 stars. As it was, I got a pork schnitzel and it was not good. The meat was so thin that it doesn't exist, mainly just a small piece of fried batter. The sauce was just heavy and lacking flavours... Anyways if I go back I'd stick with their standard menu.

Everything I tasted thus far in the restaurant , each time I'm training clients in Ottawa, us absolutely scrumptious. Friendly staff, comfortable setting and great vibe.

My wife and I come to The Royal Oak, Centrepointe, regularly and have always enjoyed the food and service. It's one of our go-to places. In November 2023, we hosted a birthday party for myself, with about 30 guests. We had an excellent experience! We ordered party platters to serve the guests and the food was great. The service from Kayla was exceptional. She was very friendly and helpful, and she took great care of our guests. It really helped make the night special. Thanks Kayla!

Beer was cold. That's the highlight of this place. Ordered an individual nachos with guacamole. Cost $17, which is about the same number of chips on the plate.

We went for wings night (half off wings on Mondays) and the wings were tastey and delicious. The salt and pepper wings were crispy and I really like the honey garlic sauce. The medium wings were not very hot but they were still good. Service was good and the food was quick. The place could probably use a reno update.

Paid $60 for two meals. Upgraded my fries to a poutine. Poutine came with about a hand full of fries and maybe 5-6 pieces of cheese. Pretty big rip off and definitely won’t be back here. I used to ordered from you guys all the time but that’s the last of that.

Good menu selection. However the butter chicken was as watery as a soup, the rice didn’t have any aroma and the naan bread was hard. Picture for reference.

We were a party of 60 people. The staff helped us move tables around to accommodate standing and chatting, it was a retirement function. Separate bills were tracked for each attendee. Drinks and food served . Exceptional job!

It's okay place to hang out with friends. Not much choices for fingers foods. Nothing special. Lot of parking spot though.

We were there as a group of 9 while the Wiggles concert was in town. Amazing service from the bartender, but he definitely looked a little run off his feet. You could tell they were most likely under staffed but everyone that was working that we interacted with was fun, and nice. Definitely tried their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible and we had 3 kids under 2 in our group. The sippy cups they had for the kids were great.

The Centre Pointe Royal Oak is consistently excellent. Staff is friendly and fast throughout the day if it's lunch, dinner, or a later evening visit. A relaxing location to visit during the summer months to enjoy the patio. Winter months inside near the fireplace gives balance to a year round reason to visit.

Great local pub, constantly busy with theatre crowd and locals. Menu selection quite good, think "pub food." Lots of events to keep folks coming back.

Ordered from skip the dishes and got burger with totally burnt petty. So disappointing. My guest had to rip the burnt part to eat it. Not going to order from here again.

Great location on a quiet street near Meridian Theatres, perfect for dinner before a show. Nice patio overlooks some green open space rather than a busy street or parking lot. Reservation was easy, good food and drink selection, staff were friendly, fun and polite. Definitely will return if we are in the area.

There was a time where you'd be hard-pressed to find anything spectacular on an average pub menu - but the Oak's kitchen is keeping up. Some great selections, such as the Black & Blue salad (Sirloin steak with blue cheese), and the Steak and Mushroom Pub Pie, are awesome. Great selection of beers. Always happy to meet up with friends at a Royal Oak.

Normally a pub style fish n' chips for me but had the Sheppards Pie and it was beyond delicious. Will definitely order this again. A couple gluten free tacos made with a gluten free wrap and a Buddha bowl made for a great meal and a nice evening at the Oak. 😉 Cheers!

Went to Royal Oak for lunch. Second time doing a lunch at Royal Oak. We want to support our restaurants and bars; however the prices have skyrocketed. We know things have increased but paying $63 for lunch for two seems quite excessive! Beer prices are extremely high (but only one beer in this lunch). You have priced out of the desire to support your business. Service was great and food was good.

Went during a cloudy/rainy day but to our luck the rain subsided fairly Quickly. Very interesting to scan a qr code for the menu, very sensible for covid reasons. I got the fish and chips and overall they were very good! Batter fried to a crisp and the tartar sauce has a very good punch to its flavor. The fries were golden and crispy all to the last chip and our waiter was very patient with me as a requested ketchup side after ketchup side 😂 Nifty little pub in a very quiet place. I love the privacy!

The service is always great: fast and friendly. Patio is comfortable. The fish and chips is the best and Fridays, they have a special. Food is a bit pricey but generous portions. Have been in the private room for a birthday party. Always a fun time at the Royal Oak.

Went here yesterday for brunch with a group of friends. My friend and myself were seated promptly after getting our vaccine passports checked out. Not long after, my other friend arrived and waited at the hostess stand for 5-7 minutes without being acknowledged. She decided to join the table and get her vaccine passport looked at there. As she sat down, our waitress comes over and in a snarky tone says "for future reference, please wait at the door". My friend, who recently broke her arm explained that she waited up to 7 minutes and was not acknowledged. The waitress responds in a rude tone "doesn't matter, you have to wait". The waitress was working alone and as someone who has worked in the service industry for years, I had sympathy for this but she should have communicated with my friend that she would be at the hostess stand soon to check her vaccine passport. After this, we saw another couple arrive and walk right up to the bar and seat themselves. The waitress did not blink an eye or ask for their vaccination status and started serving them. After the whole party arrived, we were asked by the server if we were ready to order our food. We said yes and the server proceeded to walk away without saying anything to get a note pad to write on. We then ordered our food. Brunch comes with coffee and we were not asked if we wanted any so one of my friends got up from the table to track the server down to get 4 cups of coffee. Coffee came hot but we didn't receive spoons for stirring. Only giving one star because the food was delicious. Hot and tasted fresh! The kitchen definitely deserved their tip.

Pretty disappointed. $18 salad came with no balsamic dressing and a side of blue cheese?(from a different menu item). I asked for add bacon on my chicken sandwich and paid and extra 2.50 for it on top of a pretty generous tip, didn't get any bacon. Pretty standard pub food. Won't be ordering again.

I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I've been here twice and had good experiences with the food, service and prices. Special shout out to Robyn who is definitely a superstar server. They have a great menu, lots of variety, reasonable prices, daily specials. The lavender lemon cheesecake is amazing. You have to scan a QR code and provide info for contact tracing prior to entry but that is pretty standard for any place nowadays and the restaurants are just following the rules.
