Brixton. A very nice pub, great atmosphere & even greater menu. I've had great fish & chips before, here, has to be one of my best places for it. Service was excellent. Many choices for drinks also, I'd recommend a cider, went very well with my meal. I will be back to support this restaurant !

I’m usually not a big fan of pubs but this one was definitely different than the others . I had the fish and chips and it was AMAZING . I also learned that they make it everyday fresh so they even have a limited amount of so they don’t waste food . I loved that . The portion was huge and everyone was very friendly. I had one of the cocktails that I do not remember the name but it was pretty decent. Super chill place to hang and talk with friends. I also heard that their wings are delicious!!! I definitely have to go back to try them .

I'll temper my comments based on it was Canada Day, so they were overwhelmed at best. Not the best food experience I've had. The Swiss mushroom melt burger I ordered was dry and the bun overwhelmed the meat. The triple decker club sandwich was okay. It's saving grace was the chicken was real. The beer selection was good and should please most enthusiasts. The service was stretched. We had one woman for an outdoor section of 15 to 20 people. Again, it was Canada Day.

I have been here on a few occasions and have enjoyed myself each time. During my latest visit for lunch, I ordered a cream of cauliflower soup, quesadillas, and diet pop. My meal was tasty and the service was quite good, so kudos all around. With that in mind, I should note that with tax and 20% tip included, my bill came to $34. In terms of lunch options on Spark Street this is definitely among the more expensive places, so if you want something cheap this may not be the place for you. Bottom Line: This is a good location to get a pub meal, as well as watching a sporting event while drinking beer, but it ain't cheap.

Been seeing this sandwich all over instagram and finally got to try it out myself! Boy is it ever awesome. Great tasty patty and kale salad was perfect. The croutons were also very delicious 😋

I quite like this pub. They have a really good bloody caeser, that is also very reasonably priced ($10). I also enjoy how many items have deep fried pickles in them. Neither of these things are British by any means, but they are quite tasty. The decor reminds me of a British pub, but that's not why I come here.

Went above and beyond! Customer Service at its best! I called to ask if their patio was open (in February) as I was looking for a place to safely meet my colleagues for lunch and I wasn't comfortable meeting inside. They said their patio wasn't officially open but they would gladly accommodate my request. When I arrived they had the heaters on either end on the table and the beautiful fireplace going. We had an amazing time, wonderful food and excellent service.

Sign at entrance said $6 draught. I ordered a beer and was charged full price. I asked the server and they explained that it was only for Moosehead. I was not impressed.

It was pretty good. I had the fish and chips and the batter was overcooked so when I cut it in half the meat just fell out of the batter shell. The fries were pre salted Or seasoned Too much. I like to put my own amount of salt on my fries. Service was great and beer was awesome!

The pub is fine, a little dated atmosphere but the art is nice and it's overall an average spot. Pints are on the pricier side but it's also on sparks street, so that's understandable. It was dead on a Saturday evening, so this is definitely probably more of an after work or lunch spot than a late night drinks spot. We had a weird situation where we were double charged (I was charged for the bill, then when I went to the washroom my friend was also charged for the bill). It took some back and forth and coming to see the manager to get the money back. The manager was very sweet but the whole situation put me off of returning to the establishment. If you're in the area looking for a quick pint, maybe give it a go, but it's not for me.

Location wise this restaurant is nice. There are lots of old buildings nearby and its fairly quiet as it is on a walking street. The patio is sizeable. The food was very underwhelming, which was surprising because I have been seeing Brixton's on Sparks Street for years and its usually busy. The Swiss Burger was pretty tasteless, I ate it without complaint because it took awhile to come to the table and I was very hungry. The fish was very small, which is definitely not what I'd expect from a British pub. The beer selection is decent, I would go back for pints if I was on Sparks. However, like most restaurants and stores on this walking street it's a pricey experience. The server was kind and dealt with setbacks well and professionally. She is the reason I did not leave only one star. Still, in the end I was disappointed overall in the experience and am not in a rush to return.

"SORRY ABOUT THE SALMONELLA" :) Wow, has this place ever gone downhill. This used to be a decent hangout under the old regime. Now, the customer service is OVER-THE-TOP rude and obnoxious, and the food tastes like something that would come out of either end of a cat or dog. RUN--don't walk--to LITERALLY ANY OTHER PUB in the area and you'll be glad you did.

Great costumer service. I went here for their wings night. You have to buy a beverage to get the special. I don't drink, so I got a pop. They are refillable. The Covid precautions are good. Would come back again.

I was very disappointed in the service we received here. A large group (approx. 10+) of us went in to celebrate the departure of a colleague. One individual in our party chose to drink water rather than an alcoholic beverage (as is his choice). However, when this individual went to order a plate of nachos, the server, who was quite rude, stated that he was not able to because he did not purchase a "drink" but she would make an exception given she assumed he was sharing with those of us who had purchased a drink. I was shocked by this. Why shouldn't he be allowed to order food, just because he did not purchase a beverage? If this is an actual policy, then I am shocked. You would think any establishment that is in the pub business would want to provide service to their customers regardless of whether that be in the form of a beverage or a food item. Will never return nor will any of my colleagues. Oh and the nachos were disgusting. Would give 0 stars if possible.

Love this place. Never had a bad experience here. Just tried the new Brixton lager... might be the lowest cost beer on sparks.... but just as good as all the big boys beer. I've had pints on every patio on Sparks. The Brixton Lager might be the best value I've come across for a pint. Heated patio is well done... I'm here on day that is 5 degrees in a t-shirt.

Beautiful little pub with a nice pub style food, nothing fancy and no fuss. Remind me allot of those little block pubs that all the locals will go to and you know everyone. A little pricey but what isn't these days.

Considering there are very few options in this area but stay open beyond 8:00 p.m. the fact that this place exists in the first place is good. The food was OK but nothing to write home about and you could get much better for the same price and other pubs further down on Bank Street. Service wasn't the best but wasn't terrible either. Nice old school pub ambiance.

The interior of this pub leaves much to be desired but the patio is great. Service was, and always has been, great. The food is tasty and consistent. Brixton's won't be winning any culinary awards or wow you with their drink selection, but it's a summer go-to when you want to relax outside and have a few drinks.

  • 2/5 Youngest P. 4 months ago on Google • 23 reviews
Prices are a bit high for the very average selection of beer available to you and very mediocre food. Honestly, in the summer, it might be nice to sit on their patio have a quick brew... but otherwise, I don't really see a reason to frequent this establishment.

Just ate lunch here and food and service was terrible. The chicken wings were very dry and tasted expired. I ate one and still had to pay for them. And my friend had a chicken wrap with 2 small strips of chicken in it. Very dissapointed

We were there Saturday 23 Sep and there was only one waitress on for the inside and outside! The poor girl was running ragged but kudos to her she did excellent! The drinks were great, the music was nice and we sat there for a few hours having drinks. We had the chips and salsa which were very tasty but my chicken quisdella tasted like it was cooked on a wood stove. I am sure other people would like that but I didn't. I am still giving it a 5 star because it wasn't that it wasn't good it just wasn;t my cup of tea.

It is an okay British style pub. It has typical pub fair that is okay but not great. Really did not like the fries. I also found the draft beer a bit warm and flat.

Brixton's staff are incredibly hard-working and professional, but I've been here twice now when the managers have under-staffed the restaurant. One server having to cover bar and table service for the whole place! They need to put more people on a shift - especially when there's an event on tv or a crowd.

We stopped here for dinner on Canada Day. It is a cozy spot with beautiful stringed up lights outside. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, poutine, club sandwich, and caesar salad. My hubby really liked the local Big Rig Red Ale. The server did an excellent job handling all guests, great service even with a big crowd! A very relaxing atmosphere, we enjoyed our time at Brixtons. Thanks for the delicious meal 😊

We enjoyed the patio and the service was competent though unremarkable (we had a late lunch; it wasn't busy). $13.50 margarita was from mix (i.e.: not good). "Large" spinach salad was small enough that I double-checked that they hadn't accidentally given me the side salad. Fish and chips were tasty; the one-piece portion filled a 10-year-old's tummy. Good French fries. Donair satisfied the palate of the teenager. Generally okay, but definitely overpriced for the quality.

I have been planning to try this british pub for a while and today I made it happen, as I grew up in London,England I do sometimes miss some of the british food. We went there for lunch with my friend, they were about 14-16 people inside. We were greeted with Courtney,( our server) atmosphere and ambiance was ok, our table was a bit wobbly, but the server fixed it for us. We ordered orange juice for myself and Pepsi for my friend, Courtly came back to get our Oder, it didn’t take long before we had the food. I had Brixton burger. My friend had toasted cheese, I find my burger a bit blunt, I can tell that it wasn’t house made, and Bun was a bit stale. the burger came plain, fries and a burger in a plate, No salad garnish to make the plate more appealing. No Pickle. no relish ,or mayo so I have to asked our server to have some condiments. Which is fine! When our server came back to us, I ask her to confirm weather the burger is made in the house or not, and she it was bought in. Small business like this, I expect the burger to be made in the house. And expect more british cuisine in the menu.( as it says in their logo) I can not comment the beer top as I don’t drink alcohol, but he bar looks well stocked. I do support family run local business. This is only my personal observation. And I still give them the 5* rating.

I got the buffalo chicken wrap which was good. The wings need to be seasoned but they're great sized wings, onion rings are like store bought. My wife liked the taste of the Quesadilla but not the size. But I really need to go there and see the service I've heard its amazing
