I’ve been going to Bowman’s for about 8 years now, and it’s always excellent! My parents got the burger and fish and chips, which they really enjoyed. I ordered the vegan tacos and the chips and guacamole, which were delicious. Mike is also such a friendly and great server! He checked on us often and kept our drinks full. Big thanks!!!

Delicious food, great service, and chill atmosphere. We got the Bowman's burger which was awesome and so filling. We also got the chicken wings which were also tasty and big. Would highly recommend and would definitely dine in next time.

One of the best kept secrets in Ottawa.This is what the standard should be for pub food all across Ottawa and pricing is spot on👌 How many bar and grill pubs have you gone to and said. "Why the hell did I pay $35 bucks for something that I with no culinary experience could cook better". It blows my mind. The staff and location is great. 🍻🙌

A cute pub. Pretty small and so is the menu, which is nice for a change. The gravy is made in house and is way better than what you'd find at any other pub. Last time they had jalapeno dressing and it was surprisingly really delicious which I wasn't expecting! Worth trying out for sure

Texas Chili (in a bowl or as a nacho topping) is a delicious as I remember (from the before times). Decent selection of craft beer, and just a nice friendly place for dinner and drinks.

Craving Satisfied!!! It's been awhile that I've been craving for nachos! And thanks to my dear husband he found this restaurant! The nachos is the best So fully loaded. Highly recommend it and if you want to try tacos there's a lot of flavors you can try on. I order pulled-pork and it was good. Thumbs up👌👍👍👍

Very very expensive, 25 bucks for a hamburger that was mediocre at best the fries looked like those cheap shoestring fries I rate those a 1 and the burger itself a 2 out of 10. Took 45 minutes from when I ordered and there was 3 people just having a beer. No salt on the table and I asked if I could have some salt and pepper I waited until my food got cold and then went inside to grab some. In all honest the food rates one of the lowest I have ever had at best it was worth 6 bucks. Then to have the audacity to ask for a 18% tip and up on the machine wow just wow.

Grabbed lunch here and got the burger special, with potato salad. Top notch, delicious and filling! Love that it comes with little deep fried pickles on top(I ate one before I took this photo).

Great food, great beer, great service...what more do you need? Open for business with an extended covered patio. TVs for your viewing pleasure. Something for everyone's taste on the menu and a long list of local craft brews for the picking. Limited parking because of the extended patio so why not bus, walk or bike!

Okay food with small portions for the price. I would expect a 15$ grilled cheese to at least be on homemade bread and not just white bread from the bag, could’ve made it myself at home for a fifth of the price. Won’t be coming back.

Fun little neighborhood hood joint, busy despite covid protocols. Sunday dinner about equal part NFL fans and families with small children. Kids menu and great chili on the grown ups menu.

It's an OK spot if you are looking for basic pub fare. Selection of area craft beers was good. Wines are basic. Service was fast and friendly.

Stopped by Bowman's on our way to a show in Ottawa. We've never been in the area, and from the reviews, it sounded like a good place to grab a bite. Loved the food, loved the beer selection, and our waiter was very friendly and made sure our experience was excellent. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Knowing that this is a neighbourhood spot, I didn't go in expecting much. But the food was SO DELICIOUS! Friendly staff and good patio for warmer months as well.

After searching for a place to eat in the general vicinity of my sister-in-law's hotel, we stopped in at Bowman's, expecting to find the usual pub fare. What we found instead, was incredible food and amazing service. We were greeted by Dan, who was so friendly and very helpful in helping us choose our meals. Everything is bought locally and made fresh and all their traditional pub meals have a gourmet twist. I cannot recommend this place enough. All four of us were tickled pink with our meal and the churros we shared for dessert were out of this world! Best meal out I have had in quite some time ( and not just because of COVID). ;-) Do yourself a favor and try it out. You will not be disappointed! Thank you for a great dining experience, Bowman's!

Very good food, and super friendly staff! Tried the "Bowman Burger" and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend it, but I found it a bit expensive at $17.99 Also tried the "Pork Belly Club" and the flavor was very good, but I wish it had a bit more chicken. For dessert we had the "Churros" and they were the best I've ever had. It's enough for two people, but you can easily easy it by yourself 🙈. It's even better than Mexican restaurants I've been to! It takes a bit of time for the food to come out, but it's worth the wait. It was entertaining as well because they had an open mic for musicians (went on a Saturday night). I would've given it 5 stars if the prices were a little lower, the club sandwich had more chicken, and service was a little faster. Would I go back, or recommend it.... ABSOLUTELY!

This a nice understated bar on Carling. There is parking available on site but I do imagine that it gets busy on wing night. We were 3x in our party. The service was prompt, the beer selection excellent. We had the fish n chip, pulled pork and a kids chicken finger meal. Solid pub fare with some bits of fancy. The food was really delicious. I was impressed with the chicken fingers being made from scratch. All in all recommend and will be back.

My sister and i had read some good reviews so thought we would try Bowmans restaurant. We ordered soup, and a sandwich each, 1 sml glass of wine and chicken nachos .. basically lunch food for over $85.00.. the grilled cheese pear sandwich was acceptable and came with tomatoe soup that we did not like at all and could not eat. The nacho's were very good, but when we saw the bill we were horrified that it came to just over $85.00!!?? We wl never ever go there again!! I asked why basic lunch food would come to over $85. dollars and the waitress said that all the prices went up during Covid!!?? Why would you do that?? If i pay $85 to $100. @ the Red Lobster i get a meal worth remembering and it is usually a feast for that price not a measily sandwich and soup menu for $85. dollars.. bye bye.. lessoned learnd , i feek totally ripped off!

Food is great, but the service is questionable. The older guy is always awesome, funny and genuine. The older woman is almost always dry, curt and off-putting. She seems totally uninterested.

Bowman's is where quality shines. It's a laid back, relaxed pub with a small menu of pub classics. But this place is definitely a matter of quality over quantity. Everything they have they do exceedingly well. They offer specials in addition to their menu items, as well as different desserts. The staff are fantastic. They always greet you like you're an old friend and their attentive service makes you feel like you're important to them. The bathrooms are small but are always clean and well stocked. I highly recommend their Bowman burger and their dill-icious pickle chips (starter).

Popped by there on a Sunday night in Ottawa. It was quiet as a Sunday is, the server was really nice, the fish tacos were delicious (corn tortillas! Hooray!) and the beer list was great. Patio was cute with warm string lights overhead. We were staying at the hotel a few steps away and I definitely liked the place and would go again. Low key and quality food.

This place really gives off hometown bar & grill vibes, despite being located on Carling. The atmosphere was really welcoming and chill, our server even more so. I got the fish tacos, which were delicious, and my dining partner got the chicken sandwich & a poutine. He said the chicken sandwich was more coleslaw than chicken, but we both enjoyed the poutine. Their gravy was creamier than your normal beef-based brown gravy, definitely a nice change.

Gave them a 20 minute heads up for a table of 21 at 8pm on a Wednesday and was blow away by the service and the food! The server (I think Troy) was a great guy and the food was so good. Best deep-fried pickles I've ever had and the chicken club was a 10/10.

Nachos fully loaded were great. Best I've had in a long time. Many local beer on tap. Even a great cider. Definitely will be visiting again.

Friendly service and really well made chicken and waffles. My wife and I were craving some and it really hit the spot. The chicken was very juicy, and perfectly fried. I believe the waffles had some green onions or something in them as well and were also great. I would have liked a little extra spiced maple syrup to add on the side but still very worth the visit!

The service was quite good and it has a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. I found their beer selection good. The food, however, was your usual greasy pub food, with adequate portions. It's a pleasant neighborhood pub.

Looks like your standard bar n grill, and actually the place is small and modest in decor, but I can say without a doubt these guys serve the best burger in town! I was absolutely blown away by the quality and juiciness of the beef patty. I was not ready for the how good that was and will be back for more

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this place. It's a pub and it's cozy. The food is excellent, the beer selection is top notch, and the staff are great.

Absolutely perfect place, local and catered perfectly for a birthday party of 24… they managed to survive and satisfy a storm of 24 dreadfully deafening carleton U students, but at least we weren’t from Ottawa U. All jokes aside, amazing food, beverages, and definitely the place to be on a spirited Saturday night after a hefty week of exams, and a final thanks to the host and chefs for the hospitality and great service! :)

This place has the feel of a friendly neighborhood bar. The staff are attentive and humorous while giving excellent suggestions and service. The menu is bar food but with an interesting twist on the usual fare that everyone at our table enjoyed. I highly recommend Bowman's if you are looking for a place for a fun meal with friends.

Unfortunately food was lacking taste. Because there was only one waitress, the wait was a bit long, but the service was great. The fish tacos shells had a weird taste and the chicken waffles were too sweet for our taste.

We stopped in on our way past and what a find! Wonderful atmosphere, exceptional service and hearty, tasty food. We had the Darkness beer, a very nice brew. Southern Chicken Sandwich was excellent and the churos are absolutely best way to finish the meal. Fully recommend this place.

Wonderful! Loved the chicken nachos. Hubby said the Bowman's burger was delicious. We appreciated having a selection of craft beer to choose from. Mike, the server, was courteous, friendly, and helpful. Lovely place! I imagine it is even better in the summer when you can go on the terrace. Great experience! Will definitely visit again.

Expanded, covered, heated patio. Good rotating beer list (more than just keith's). Friendly service despite the staff being absolutely swamped (it was a warm night for november). Fried chicken sandwich was absolutely delish. Fries were perfect. Definitely glad this place is within biking distance!

Heard Bowman's had the best nachos in the city and they had expanded their patio into their parking lot so went to check it out. First, they were busy but there was very regular turn over of tables so didn't have a problem getting one. The expanded patio also has a nice tent to keep the sun off of you too. The fully loaded nachos were disappointing only because they are definitely not the best in the city but they are good. They just didn't live up to the hype. The pickle chips, fish tacos, poutine, and chicken sandwich though were all excellent and beat expectations, hence I'm keeping this review as 5 stars. The draft beer selection is great and all from local craft breweries. They happen to have the dominion city early grey marmalade beer which is one of my favorites plus they have a halcyon sour (although not great) and another sour (whitewater blood moon - a little better option) coming soon. Great service. Tables got cleaned well between customers. Would be nice if chairs did too. Servers wore shields although I don't think they come down far enough to cover their mouths well so masks might be more appropriate. Great community feel here. Lots of locals from the neighborhood dropping in on foot or by bicycle. That is amazing and great to see. I would definitely come back.

I'd like to give a shout out to Bowman's for great service, great food, and well, just great people! I ate here with my family pre-covid and continue to support them during the pandemic as they offer pick-up/take out. Skip the box stores and support local!

Excellent service! Been here 3x now and haven't been disappointed by anything...except the washroom accessibility, but it's an old building! Perfect Covid19 protocols in place, actually being practised! Food is great; pub grub made from scratch...some stepped up with a twist, but good solid fare. Decent local tap selection and wine list. A hidden gem!
