The sound is not working, the vibration is not working, the screen is glitching. It is a brand new iPhone 12 which my friend saved up for months for. We went back to the restaurant to solve the problem but she refused to apologize for the situation with a severely BAD ATTITUDE. My friend was really sad but she’s holding her temper just to solve the problem. The manager said we do not have the footage of the coffee being split on the phone!!!! Can’t believe she’s denying everything!!! Worst experience ever!!!!! For our second arrival, what we want is to discuss with the problem of phone peacefully. What we had been through is incredibly unbelievable! The manager Lauren Topley denied everything about my friend’s phone after showing her the recording of the phone’s problem and accused us for no reason. And she refused to go over the footage with us. For my friend’s phone, after she got spilled coffee all over her, do u think we still have time to check our phone right away? The manager Lauren Topley is absolutely liar. She didn’t say nothing about going to the mall and buy us a CHAMPION sweater!!!!!!! And she got back to us about our slander? Go ask all the witnesses if Lauren Topley ever said that. What she showed on here is TOTALLY opposite with what we went through. And for our food, we only ordered a $30 chefs board, $22 frites, three coffee and $18 oysters that was served after the accident (never had chance to eat these). What you wrote: “I offered you multiple options to rectify it. I asked if I could go to the mall for you and buy you another CHAMPION swearer.” was NEVER happened to our conversation at all. What multiple options to rectify it? None. The only solution about covering the washing bill is mentioned by the server not you. This is absolute twisting truth. WE HAVE NEVER HEARD A SORRY FROM YOU .What you showed on Google Map with a delightful and regrettable attitude was NEVER EVER happened to our conversation in person. For the phone we showed you the video of the damage. But you refused it immediately. If you have footage, you can clearly see the phone was on the table and got spilled on. Reply: I can totally understand that accident happened all the time. And I was going to get over it. But what really terrifying me is the dishonest, immature and unprofessional general manager , Lauren Topley. All I want is the truth. I won’t take any solutions from her until she tell the truth.

Great food and drinks, warm and friendly service, and lovely atmosphere. Good place for a date or for some drinks with colleagues. A bit pricy, but worth the experience.

the server (seems like a new girl) is insanely RUDE and RACIST. Had a lunch there on July 18th. After I seated, a server came with an irritated attitude, asked me if I have any question. I told the girl I was ready to order and she yelled at me ‘NOT YOUR SERVER’ and ignored me all the way, then she served and smiled to the table of white customers. If I was not in a rush to catch my train, I would have asked her name. Food is disappointing; or because I had already lost any appetite. Never had such a terrible experience before, so just wanna give a heads-up for any Asian or colored customers.

The service was amazing! We had our company Holiday party there and it was awesome. The team there had everything under control. The atmosphere was great! Beautiful building and a spectacular courtyard in the back all lit up at night with string lights. The food was spectacular. The chairs were comfortable and there was lots of space to get up and mingle. The cocktail menu was extensive and unique. It was the perfect venue for an event.

Their food poisoning adds flavour. I had their social burger which is pretty overpriced for a stomach bug experience as the next morning I wasn’t able to keep any liquids down. Among the many bathroom related issues I had after giving this place a shot I’m glad this food poison only lasted my entire day at least. Otherwise it would have made me miss 2 days of work from shaking on my bathroom floor because of their bad burger. Even the leftovers of the burger I had unfortunately brought home repulsed me by just it’s aroma alone and landed straight in the trash. I definitely got a bang for my buck, a horrible experience and a reminder to never come back. Perhaps it makes sense why there is a weird amount of bad reviews for a restaurant like this. Social is easily one of the best restaurants in Ottawa! Each time we come, the food is mouthwatering, the atmosphere is great, and the servers are all so lovely. If you ever get the chance, I strongly encourage you to do one of their set menus (we did it for New Years Eve). Also - the smoked duck pastrami is probably the best dish we’ve ever tasted. A must visit!

Pretty disappointing first-time experience. The server Kimberly was very distracted from the beginning, so much so, that she brought the wrong order to our table. My lunch date was nice enough to keep the wrong dish and not make a fuss. She ate some of it, but in the end it was not what she wanted and more than 3/4 of the dish was left uneaten. I would have thought that because if the mistake, and because she didn’t even finish half of it, that the serve would have at least charged her for the original dish she ordered, or discounted it, but I was wrong. Full price and for the dish she didn’t order. The food itself was alright, I had the lunch box sesame chicken with noodles. My lunch date ordered the Cobb salad and got the duck confit instead. I’m not sure I would come back or recommend it to anyone .

Lauren Topley, the GM, went above and beyond on more than one occasion that I’ve been at the restaurant to make our group’s experiences seamless and hitch-less. Service was good. Atmosphere was good. Decor was great. Love private spaces they have for groups. They have a few that can accommodate different sizes. So it's perfect for a company dinner or even dinner with larger friend groups.

A large group of us made reservations to celebrate a friend's birthday. The staff couldn't have done more to make sure we had an incredible dinner and party. They placed tables in a manner that allowed to have almost our own private area, the staff were fun, attentive and helpful! The food and drinks were delicious and we can't thank them enough for making our night so wonderful!

I have been to Social before the pandemic and always had a wonderful time. My family and friends have visited during COVID-19 and best believe the staff go above and beyond to comply with all appropriate health and safety measures to make their guests feel welcomed and valued. Let me be clear, it is not easy to work 8-10+ hours in a busy restaurant wearing a mask to cater to guests and ensure that they have positive leisure experiences. Servers are not appreciated enough during this pandemic and I want to COMMEND their hard work and THANK them for the positive attitude. Do yourself an act of gratitude and be an overall nice human being and show thanks to service staff. Social’s service and management staff ALWAYS go above and beyond to please their guests. They work in this industry because they love it. As a guest, I want to return the love and thank them back. I know they’re all working hard and doing this all for us.

AMAZING FOOD & SERVICE! I can't explain enough how tasty this place is along with service that makes you feel at home. They treat you like a friend that you haven't seen in ages. One of the hidden gems in the market. A great place for a patio beer or outdoor snacks in the summer months and a cozy dining room for cocktails and dinner in the winter. Fully stacked bar and creative takes on a number of culinary dishes. Would recommend.

Social is by far one of my favourite restaurants in Ottawa! It is where I go for all my special events. Social has a beautiful atmosphere, personable staff, and a huge selection of drinks and food! I love that every time I go there is a different dessert and drink special and new rotation of beer and wine. Most people go to Social for dinner to get steak or pasta, but do not underestimate breakfast. This restaurant has the best hollandaise sauce in Ottawa. I still dream of those breakfast potatoes. The managers always look after their guests like family, I would recommend it to anyone visiting Ottawa for the first time or celebrating something special. You will truly get royal treatment.

My wife and I went here for a date night. Very kind front and wait staff. Chef's board was almost enough to be a meal itself, and was quite nice. Cauliflower steak and duck confit we're also yummy. Nice ambiance on the back patio. Would return.

Amazing experience! Staff were friendly, helpful & welcoming. Food was outstanding -fresh & extremely tasty. My husband had the lamb & as a lamb lover said it was cooked just right. I had a beautiful warm goat cheese salad that was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is great too -lively vibe, great music & unique lighting throughout. A place we would definitely return to!

Had a light lunch there. Loved the Social bowl, healthy and tasty, except for a little bit of excessive oil. Flavors of different fresh ingredients interact harmoniously. Very refreshing and enjoyable dish overall. There weren’t many people there and the interior is very chic yet classy, which makes the experience even more soothing and enjoyable.

We had our 1 year anniversary at The Social last night and it was absolutely incredible. Staff are amazing, service was fantastic, food was 10/10 with absolutely beautiful presentation and the atmosphere was romantic. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a phenomenal place for any event or to make memories you'll never forget!

We celebrated my friend's birthday at this restaurant last night. The interior is gorgeous, it set the perfect ambiance for her special day. Our waiter was super friendly and professional and we waited approximately 20 - 30 minutes for the food to be ready. We ordered 10OZ NAGANO PORK TOMAHAWK (5/5) - I highly recommend this one SMOKED DUCK PASTRAMI (5/5) - same SOCIAL BURGER (4/5) - My husband was not impressed but said it was good This restaurant is on the pricey side, but it's definitely worth paying. The overall experience, from the atmosphere to the service and the food, was fantastic. To me, it's similar to Zoe's. I would recommend it for any special occasion. :)

Food was expensive yet mediocre, and even verged on poor. Very little seasoning or flavour. Waitress was not friendly or accommodating, no salt or pepper on tables and when we asked for them, we were not met with a kind response. The only boon of this restaurant was the cocktails and atmosphere.

Nice outside tables to sit with friends to enjoy a warm eveving. Sadly out of 4 dishes ordered only the pasta was good. The salad's tomatoes were mealy, the scallop was way too salty to be edible and the fried squid was tough. The service though was good. But we decided to cut our loses and not reorder even though it was offered. Maybe we hit a rough patch for the kitchen staff. We were sorry it didn't work out.

The best part of our meal was the wine. The duck was very fatty and the salmon was just okay. The beans with the salmon didn't pair well. The restaurant was filled with smoke from the kitchen half way through the meal which, after checking with our waitress, seemed to be the way things were. This place should be special and unfortunately it just wasn't.

It is beautiful but it was very quiet the night we went. I will try it another time when it's not a Monday night. My friend ordered the tuna plate. It's only tuna pieces served with... Some pieces of a fruit we think? And a bit of a spicy sauce. No crackers or chips or anything to eat the tuna with so we had to ask for it. Almost like having a tartare withing anything to eat it with. That was very strange. The staff said that she will bring it up to the next staff meeting to the chef.

We had started with the bread basket (small). The serving size was perfect for two people, and the butter/oil provided was delicious but the portion of butter to bread was a little low. Regardless, it was delicious. My wife had the duck, she raved about it and enjoyed every bit of it. As for me, I had the Ribeye. Not only was it cooked to perfection but the jus they put on it was to die for. It was topped with fried potato strings (sinfully delicious) and Kale (not a fan of kale, but I ate the entire thing and I enjoyed it thoroughly). Live music was on point and the cheese cake is absolutely delightful! Very light and airy. The crumble, fruit and whipped cream provided were mouth watering. We ended the meal with some dessert coffees. The Irish coffee was delicious and the Spanish coffee was great as well, as my wife beat me to the bottom of our drinks haha. The reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 is that the washroom (men's) was not cared for and the bill was astronomical. Otherwise, if price isn't an option. This place is very much worth the visit. I didn't grab a picture of the main course but I did of the cheese cake.

Poached eggs were good but inconsistent. One was still runny and one was cooked solid. Home fries lacked flavour. Overall, not horrible, but you're better off going somewhere else.

Went here for brunch and it was chef's kiss! Croissant is amazing, daily soup (squash + peanut butter) is so good! I had eggs benedict and my boyfriend had social breakfast, it was 10/10! We were the first one on the place so it was quiet. Very fancy, too! Definitely worth a try!

I have had lunch here on the patio twice recently. Both times the food and service was superb. And the patio itself is beautiful! The oysters are terrific, the salmon and duck confit were above average. The only caution is that the menu lists some dishes include “bitter greens”. However that means raw kale. So if, like me, you find that to be indigestible, be sure to alert the server- they are very willing to accommodate changes. They also replaced the bread on the club sandwich with lettuce for a gluten intolerant friend. Highly recommend!

Our overall experience at The Social was wonderful. The combination of the high quality dishes, the soft romantic atmosphere, and the generous and kind staff made our experience incredible. We selected that it was our anniversary when booking our reservation and our server surprised us with two shots on the house. The staff go above and beyond to ensure a quality experience for guests. With all that being said, make sure you are prepared to spend a bit extra, as this restaurant knows it’s worth when charging for drinks + food. Such a wonderful evening and can’t wait to go back!

We had THE BEST dining experience here. Dining tables were appropriately distanced. Never felt squished in or rushed. But the food....incredible! Every single bite if our 3 course meal. We even got a sneaky wee upgrade to a large booth just for the 2 of us, which made our night even better. Cozy. Delicious. Great cocktails. Excellent service. Will definitely be going back.

We came for breakfast. We did not know what we will find. We sat outside at patio it has a nice European vibe. We felt like we were back home. The food didn't arrive super fast but the relaxing mood made it fine. The breakfast was tasty and excellent coffee. It was a little $$$, but this is Ottawa. Staff was very attentive and friendly - staff asked us for feedback. Definitely we will come back next time we are in Ottawa.

Great patio by the back, and the food is great! Highly recommend getting the duck confit when you're here. It's juicy and the combination of different flavours on the plate complement each other very well. The service was good on a busy day, and the patio is very welcoming, not too cramped and had ample room for everyone to sit comfortably. Would go again for sure.

Sweet experience. The waitresses were very very sweet and friendly. I usually don’t like hamburgers or sandwiches, but this Chicken Avocado Club was delicious! The flavors of each ingredients played very well together. Their fries are very good as well. The cocktail Dress to Empress was just the way I liked it: not too strong, sweet, and pretty!
