I came here to celebrate a birthday. The staff were very friendly, accommodating, and attentive (on point with the refills). The food was excellent in terms of quality and flavour (the squid ink rigatoni was a flavour and texture explosion in my mouth) and portion sizes were just right. The atmosphere was very nice and cozy, it felt packed but not suffocating like sardines in a can. The music wasn't too loud either and the ambient conversations didn't get too noisy (I didn't have to raise my voice to talk). Bathroom was also clean and had thick napkins to dry hands. Overall, it was a fantastic outing.

Incredible. From the moment you walk in the door, this place makes you feel like you've been welcomed home with a warm hug! The staff are incredibly attentive, entertaining, friendly and knowledgeable about the food, wine and cocktail menus. The owners, Jen and Steve, set the example. They are extremely hard-working and engaged with their business and their customers. The atmosphere is romantic, fun, light, and trendy. They are gladly able to cater to personal dietary needs and preferences and the food, drinks and wine are exceptional. The menu changes regularly, but adoring fans of mind-blowing staples like the tuna crudo, squid ink rigatoni and kale salad will still have their favourites. This place is by far our favourite restaurant...in the WORLD! We love you Supply and Demand!

It was a mediocre experience. The food looked like art but the flavours in each dish did not work for me. For the appetizers, the bread was fresh and the salted butter was nice. The Brussel sprouts though instead of being roasted tasted charred. For entrées, the duck breast was the star of the show being tender and so flavourful. It was the best thing I ate during my whole dining experience. The pork tortellini while looking gorgeous was a let down because it was too salty. For dessert, the caramel tart was too sweet and was just not pleasant at all... Lastly, the seating for two at the front is too small and the chairs are not comfortable. My expectations were high walking in but the experience did not match up.

Best pasta around. Having the half dish available is simply great for seniors like my parents. Very tasty appetizers like cod and beef tartar. Our server was excellent. Highly recommended.

The food taste great. Beautifully presented as you can see in the photos I’ve attached. The pasta dishes here are the full sized pasta (for reference), they do have the half size portions available as well. We were not the biggest fan of the rabbit liver mousse on grilled bread with cherry gastrique. You really have to have the appreciation for these types of dishes to enjoy the strong scents/flavours that come from it. We pretty much had a small taste and left it. Squid ink rigatoni was a lot more al dente then we hoped for but everything else is a must try! We pretty much ordered the entire menu but 3 items. Dessert is a must! Service was good. Because they’re opened 5 hours per night, it does fill up quickly. Reservations are pretty much a must to get seated. We were given a 2 hour dining time limit when making the reservations. Our reservations was for 7:15 and we were pretty much there ‘til just about closing time around 10pm - due to the long wait times in between dishes. Next time we might request for all the food to come at once so we’re not waiting so long. It’s a nice ambient atmosphere. Smaller sized restaurant. Washrooms were clean. Definitely gets loud so can be hard to hear everyone at your table at times.

Love this spot, the atmosphere is fantastic and the food even better. We've ordered takeout several times in the last couple years and it's been so nice to have a delicious pick-me-up. The dinner rolls, kale salad, and squid ink rigatoni are it for me. Thank you for keeping on through all the tough times! We love having you in the neighbourhood.

Service is good and fast, the food is not exceptional like others mentioned. We ordered one small plate to share and two pasta dishes. The small plate brussel sprouts was overcooked and burnt a little. The pastas are ok, I definitely had better pasta at other restaurants that are in the same price range. The bread was good, very much like milk bread, very soft inside but on the greasier side in general.

We had the tuna crudo, fingerling and chicory salad, bucatini, and duck. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented, and both the crudo and salad had a fantastic depth to them.

Lovely dinner tonight at Supply and Demand. Great mix of seafood and non-seafood dishes. The drink menu is extensive, especially the gin and tonics. Service is really on point. Very comfortable atmosphere and a generally good vibe. One of the nicest meals we've had in a long time.

Ottawa’s best for pasta, oysters, and tuna. The complimentary rotating butter and bread is always a highlight. Might have moved to this neighbourhood because of incredible local restaurants like Supply & Demand. Thank you for your commitment to keeping your team’s needs for feeling safe (re vaccine passports) above pleasing everyone everywhere.

Came here for dinner, make sure you make a reservation ahead of time as they get busy. I ordered the beef tartare and tuna crudo to start. Beef tartare was good, nice mustard taste with some crispy horseshoe fries. The tuna crudo was light a refreshing. Although my first piece was salty, the rest was fine. I think the salt was distributed well. Then we ordered the squid ink rigatoni, sweet corn agnolotti and the carciofi. Loved the three dishes paired together. You had the spicy and tart flavours from the squid ink rigatoni. The tuna meatballs weren't my favourite. The sweet corn agnolotti was the best dish in my opinion. Sweet corn with a creamy sauce. The carciofi was a bit too salty for my taste. Overall, lovely experience and great food.

What a great experience! This is what to expect in service! A server that knows the food so well and can tell you everything there is to know about a plate and you can tell how passionate they are. And food that is so well served and tastes like heaven that it could be your last meal.(ok for Italian food) We shared two appetizers dish the tuna et the Brussels sprouts it was so delicious and we also shared the reduced portion of two main courses of the pasta (so great they do that!). The sweet corn Agnolotti and the Potato and Pecorino Carciofi. The first one is simply sublime and the second is purely surprising it's a spiral of pasta I've never seen that before and it is so delicious, each bite I was rolling my eyes with pleasure. Our hostess was 5 stars by herself. Like "Out of this world" quality staff. I wish she would have said her name but we changed the place from the bar to a table so she didn't introduce herself I believe but OMG what an amazing person. So many would learn from her way of talking to patrons. It's nice to have space, not feeling pressure to order drinks all the time or rush our food when done with appetizers. So I recommend the restaurant 5 stars all these reasons. I wish I had taken food pictures but I didn't maybe next time. Those are the end of the night pics when we closed the place :)

This place is incredible! Supply and Demand has been out go to spot for birthdays and anniversaries and we’ve never had a bad experience. The oysters and pasta dishes are out of this world, so make sure you bring your appetite. They have a few dishes that are menu staples but make sure to try the seasonal dishes that they rotate in the menu.

Not bad! It was a unique place for sure, but I think the squid ink pasta ($30) was overhyped. It just tasted like any other red sauce pasta to me, however, some items really stood out. The bread that comes as an appetizer is just so tasty and fresh, and everything about it was so good! The bucatini ($28) was actually pretty good as well but was a bit salty (just as the server had warned us). The roasted duck breast dish was alright ($45) but kinda salty too. The celery root purée was delicious and helped cut some of that saltiness. The albacore tuna crudo ($24) was refreshing and I liked that one the second best (after the bread)! The atmosphere was unique but very loud for sure, so be aware of that. Overall, I didn’t mind this place!

An upscale hipster restaurant experience. Helpful staff creating a very intentionally crafted experience with some thoughtful touches like: - Signature Caesar garnished with an oyster+ - Oysters with three incredible sauces - Fresh doughy bread with compliments - When we were finishing our pasta, we were offered bread to soak up the sauce (nice touch)! Recommend: - Caesar - Fennel sausage ragu

The most amazing dinner we had in Ottawa! My mom still talks about how delicious that bread is. The oysters were super fresh. Pasta dishes were great also. We got small orders of them so we could order another main to share. Our server was amazing! Super sweet and made the best recommendations. She wished my mom the best for her retirement . We had a wonderful time and the food was amazing! Would come back to Ottawa just for this meal ☺️

Why did I wait so long? Frankly, I don't know. The restaurant has been in operation for 10 years now and it shows in the way the employees work. From the welcome to the presentation of the dishes, everything is impeccable. The work in the kitchen goes smoothly. It's good to be able to enjoy a good meal at a normal pace. All the dishes we ordered were well balanced. The tuna crudo as a starter was a fine example. Thanks to Sarah for her beautiful smile and attentive service. @lporama

Food was delicious, service was friendly and the atmosphere was impeccable. I really enjoyed the unique flavours of the pea and goat cheese ravioli as well as the squid ink rigatoni. However, some of their other dishes were too heavily salted for my liking.

Supply and Demand is a sublime experience. The food is fresh and bright. Our server was knowledgeable and provided spot on recommendations. Moreover it’s both a casual and fine dining experience. I’d feel comfortable being in jeans but the service is impeccable, cleaning up your table in between and keeping water filled. Supply and Demand deserves all the accocolades.

One of the best restaurants in Ottawa. I’ve been here too many times to count. Food is amazing. Staff and service 5 star. Thank you for so many great meals and more to come!

First time going to Supply and Demand after *many* recommendations and had a fantastic experience. Our server was delightful and provided some great suggestions for things to try. Not a single bad bite all night. Started with a selection of oysters (super fresh), then a selection of appetizers to share, and then a few of the pastas. Highlights for use included: oysters, tuna crudo, and the entire table loved every pasta (squid ink rigatoni, bucatini gricia, tonnarelli with anchovy). Will definitely have to come back!

I was visiting Ottawa for 4 days and I came here twice because it was so good. Food and service are excellent! I had the squash ravioli, mushroom malfadine, leeks with cashew cheese, and fried Brussels sprouts. Love that there are half portions so you can try different things. A must try if you’re visiting Ottawa!

The good: Cool restaurant atmosphere. Amazing pasta and friendly staff. Will definitely come back to try more pasta! To improve/dissapointment: I ordered a surprise mocktail. Quite dissapointed that it was 10$ since the glass was under 500ml and 3/4 of it was ice. Having reserved in advance, i thought that i was going to sit at a booth, but i ended sitting at another location and I felt that my table was too close to the other tables. Not in a covid sense, but in a "i can hear other peoples conversation" too close.

One of my favourite restaurants in Ottawa! Unique and creative food, incredibly fresh pasta, and that tuna crudo can’t be beat! Was a favourite during pandemic lockdowns and it was always easy to call and order as well as to swing by and pick up. Owners are also strong community builders!

The warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff set the tone for what is always an incredibly experience. The menu is updated often, keeping their incredible staples (melt in your mouh tuna crudo, milk butter buns to die for, and the kale salad are our faves) and the pastas are absolutely the best we've ever had. The service is always amazing, and the food has been beyond excellent, every. single. time. Their cocktails are creative and delicious and the wine list is beautifully curated too. A staple in Ottawa that is always a first choice for my husband and I.

I’ve had the pleasure of sitting at the chefs bar on multiple occasions. Shared meals with family to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays and friends visiting from out of town. The hospitality offered by the staff is always top notch! The food is always outstanding and during the pandemic when business were forced to close their doors, they continued the five star dining experience with a fantastic menu served directly at the window. Can’t possibly say enough nice things about the staff and the food. There is always something available for me to eat (even though I’m a picky eater) and I can’t wait for my next chance to dine in style.

Recently went here with my boyfriend for dinner for date night. I had been a couple times previously albeit a couple years ago and food and service did not disappoint as expected. The albacore tuna melts in your mouth, kale Caesar was loaded with bacon and Parmasan. We ordered two small pasta dishes- the ricotta and taleggio caramelle and the mafaldine mushroom dishes. Both were super yummy! I’m a big bread fan and theirs came with bacon butter (I know right?!) and we asked for seconds ;) Would highly recommend!

It was a wonderful treat to return to S&.D for a post pandemic meal. Same great food, service and atmosphere. The oysters and steak tartare never disappoint. We finished off with a divine/spectacular Eton Mess. Thanks to all, I’ll be back! 🙏🌹🙏

  • 5/5 Nora N. 2 years ago on Google
Food was great. The Eton Mess was the only item that was disappointing and would not recommend. Everything else was tasty. However the pastas is what gave this place a 5 star review. Our waitress was also great and super attentive. She even offered bread during the meal to get every last bite of sauce on the plate!
