A highly suggest restaurant for romantic date night! We ordered a chef’s special seafood pasta and a lobster ravioli. While the pasta was very filling, the lobster ravioli was very small in size. The server also gave out a perfect wine under our comments and suggestions. The server must’ve forgotten when we asked for more bread, that we kept waiting but had to ask again towards the end. Overall, I enjoyed the dinner here at Mamma Teresa!

Our experience here was one of the best at any Italian restaurant I have tried. Our waiter Gary was amazing, always ready with a quick fact, great at answering questions about the menu and really seems to make it his goal that you have the best time and I do fear that he will be successful at doing so. And the food was just outstanding, the dishes were all greatly appreciated. I do plan on visiting again more than a couple times since it is that great of a whole experience.

An amazing night out for everyone. This was just a very special place in Ottawa and I can’t wait to be back. I celebrated my birthday here on a Saturday evening and I could not have chosen a better place. Extremely attentive staff and a great food selection. I was very happy with my pasta dishes and our appetizers were very nice too. They brought out a little cake with a candle on it and we had some espresso to finish the night off. I think we were in there for like three hours just enjoy the atmosphere. Thank you to the whole staff, you were all amazing.

First timer at this restaurant to celebate family birthday. It would have been better to eat at the patio as inside of the restaurant was kinda dark with minimal lighting. Service was great and food was decent. Kinda pricey though.

I would like to start by saying thank you to frank for being a great host and nick for being a wonderful waiter. The service and ambiance is excellent, but unfortunately the food didn’t match The starters were okay, we got the calamari and tomato mozzarella. The Alfredo was terrible, unfortunately my guests were embarrassed to let me know when I was there because I would have send it back. The spaghetti bolognese was nice and so was the tiramisu. I just expected the food to reflect the reviews presented and price.

Very attentive service, they were on top of all the orders! This place is great for large reservations and also intimate dining. The appetizers were very quick, but there was a small wait for the main course. Everyone was very happy with their meals. As mentioned in other reviews, the main courses could be plated nicer, but that's something that doesn't bother me personally.

Mama Teresa delivered a delicious meal for two along with exceptional service! Traditional atmosphere and a menu that hasn’t changed in 40 years. Great experience, and very courteous staff. Finally, my first meal at Mamma Teresa. Fantastic. Started with huge plate of fried zucchini. Best I've ever had. Had the eggplant. Was delicious. Sauce had a nice spicy bite to it. Finished with light chocolate mousse. Service was very good. Lived up to expectations.

We had such an amazing and unforgettable experience. Despite they were crazy busy and fully booked for reservation, Walter in particular was very accommodating and very nice enough to give us a table for six. We were very pleased and touched by his kind gesture that he even allowed us to park our vehicle beside the table we were eating. If it happens you go visit this town, please make sure to try this out and experience the amazing service that we have experienced. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!!

Truly one of the best restaurants for high quality food in all of Ottawa. They are an institution that has earned it's name over the decades. Nearly every big name in Canada has eaten there. Very very good! Best service, best food!

Nothing less than the finest Italian food in Ottawa. Every time I visit this place my memory flies back to imagine Giuliano Boselli at the main stairs. Since they opened in 1970 they created a legend in the city and after Frank and Walter decided to take the steering wheel of the business in 2008 they have done a great job to continue the magic tradition of Mamma Teresa. The are so good that they opened a new restaurant in Chelsea, QC. The food continues with its delicious flavor and once the chefs do their magic, the dishes work by themselves to fall in love with them. If you check the menu, Giuliano continues present in some special dishes as well as the image of Mamma Teresa by the main entrance. This place is magic and they even continue with their white tableclothes. They have now outdoor tables and the dressing code has been adapted through the new customers. But believe me, the former clients, continue loving the place with the Boselli family in every single space of the place creating a pre-known cozy environment. They have found the key to continue giving the best service to different generations considering a variety of taste prefernces and food intolerances from new and former customers. All the options will provide a pleasant flavor to your mouth an you will find it hard to find your favorite dishes among a wide number of options. My favorite will continue being the Caesar's Salad and Lobster Ravioli. It was glad for me to see the tradition continues with more than excellent service, outstanding food and immesurable memories. What a special night this was. Our first anniversary together. Our food was so delicious. The staff was friendly and checked up on us making sure everything was to our liking. What a beautiful feast we had!

I'd feel weird taking pictures of food in here given how classy, so excuse the lack of those. The food was excellent - pricey - but authentic and very tasty. The wait staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine pairings too. Great place, dated, but still classic. Will be back.

Food was great and service was fantastic. We each had the snails for starters and it was very tasty. Save some bread for dipping it in the garlic sauce. The fresh bread is served right away and it was nice and warm. I had the combination plate that had veal parmigiana, tortellini and cannelloni that was stuffed with veal. My partner had the Penne with Italian sausage. Everything was very tasty.

Straight up obsessed with their food. Whether it’s the garlic bread, their soups or their pasta. Everything is A1. Staff is always kind, never had a bad experience in my 100+ times coming here. Brilliant restaurant for a date night. The choice of food to choose from is ample, almost as though we have dish for everyone. The portions are generous and the service is great! One thing to note is that they are a bit on the pricy side.

Bad services, we waited for 15min after finishing main course. Two waiter walked back and forth to prepare for other tables. I understand that they might got busy at that moment. However, to have the customer wait for 15mins straight is a something you shouldn’t expect from a restaurant like mama teresa.

Wonderful atmosphere with excellent staff and great service. Food presentation was mouthwatering. The bolognese sauce on the spaghetti was salty, as was the lasagna. Otherwise, everything was perfect. Had Italian salad, Ceasar salad and caprese salad along with the Lasagna White, Veal Parmigiana, Fettuccine Pesto and Ravioli with a tomato sauce instead of the rose cream sauce.

Mama Teresa's is absolutely excellent. Delicious food, great service, and very lovely location. We have ordered the Lobster Ravioli, Veal Marsala with Linguine Clams, and Gnocchi with Tomato Sauce. All are and were amazing, but the lobster ravioli is a must-have. Will definitely be ordering more dishes and supporting this lovely business.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mama Teresa Ristorante, and I must say it was a culinary delight! We gave this restaurant another chance and we were not disappointed. Great, professional service. Calmari was a little under-fried but tasty. The chicken Toscana was AMAZING. The sauce and chicken week so flavourful! Nice grilled veggies, although the roasted potatoes were not particularly outstanding. House red wine was wonderful. Christmas decor was magical.

This was the most fun I’ve had at any restaurant. The atmosphere was incredibly charming and cozy. Service from John was first class, he was an absolute delight. The manager came by a few times to makes sure we were taken care of. Everything we ordered was super amazing, we had the mussels, bruschetta and Prosciutto di Parma, and a bottle of Dom Pérignon to start, we ordered lasagna, filet mignon and shrimp, carbonara and risotto for dinner, and the mama Teresa cake, lemon sorbet, tiramisu and tarfuto for dessert, all spectacular! I highly recommend this place to eat any time. There is something here for everyone even kids. I can not wait to return for another wonderful evening. Thank you so much!!

Food and service was okay. I'm not sure if the pasta is made in-house. Pastas were okay. Honestly, for 00 flour made with eggs (hopefully with eggs), and a sauce, the price of dishes seemed quite high. I found the dishes to be too salty. Lots of customers working in the government dine here on weekdays, so that's the atmosphere you'll get. Our server was okay: neither friendly nor cold, he just did his job. Desserts were not that special.

DISSATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED Last time we were there years ago, the food was very good. This time it was disappointing!! The Pinot Grigio we ordered was absolutely awful and no other available by the glass - a bottle would have been too much and there were only 2 to select from. The physical menus are tattered and need replacing. The bread with oil, balsamic and olives were very good! Best part of our meal!! My wife ordered the minestrone soup - quite tasty - and the halibut. It was totally dry, too salty and came with penne but no vegetables. In order to moisten the halibut we added the dipping oil and vinegar used for the bread. Not great a great dish! I ordered the Escargot Bourginione as I have had for the past 50 years. Big mistake!! The escargots were served on a small sides bowl, swimming in a sea of green liquid! Some garlic and some butter I think were in the dish but by no means Bourginione!! 0/10!! Then I ordered the chefs special seafood pasta. It was edible. Not a good linguini manufacture was used and tasted starchy, as though it had been reheated after being previously cooked. While there were enough shrimp and scallops it showed lack of imagination for a $42 pasta dish on the chef’s part for what was his special and the type of fish used. No dessert was had. We had it elsewhere. All in all I had great expectations from the last visit but this time - TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING! Won’t be back. Oh, the service, however, was very good!

We try to spread our local eating out as much as possible, and this is one of our go to places. We normally order from the Chelsea location and I'm glad to share they have the same great food and service here. I should mention that our order was not quite what we asked for, but we let it go and enjoyed the surprise... COVID busy to blame. I hope the other party was equally forgiving.

Wonderful experience here last night! Service was outstanding. Waiter very polite and attentive without being in our space. Friend and I shared the calamari, caesar salad and stracciatella soup. Waiter was kind enough to have these shared items separated onto our own plates and bowls (at no extra cost). Food was outstanding and plentiful. Calamari crisp, not oily and flavourful. Caesar salad - one of the best in the city. Flavourful (would love their dressing recipe) with plenty of crispy bacon. Soup was tasty also, especially with added parmesan cheese. The house wine was good and at a reasonable price. We'll be back and will be recommending this restaurant. Appreciated them being so accommodating. Thank you.
