Really disappointed with my order tonight. We ordered two shish kabob platters (one chicken and one beef). All four skewers were burned to a crisp! The salad was soggy... potatoes were squishy... Everything was room temperature. The meal was very unappetizing. Oh and we ordered pita bread with our meal — Thanks for giving us an already opened bag!

I had pretty high expectations coming to a shawarma place in Ottawa because so many people told me it’s the best of the best. Well… let me tell you that IT IS! I’ve gone to shawarma places in my hometown and I thought it was good, but now I can’t go back. This was top tier. Perfectly marinated, extremely generous servings (literally a “plate” could feed 2-3 people), and everything tastes so fresh! Glad I stopped by, 10/10

The best shawarma in Ottawa!! We walked for over a kilometre to try their Shawarma and being from Toronto and experiencing a variety of shawarmas, will definitely recommend this place to any visitor!! Their portion sizings are generous, dine in portions are larger or maybe that’s just my eyes playing an illusion on me. The chicken is well cooked, not too dry and is generously served with hummus and garlic sauce. Hot sauce was a dollar extra which was shocking coming from a generous establishment. Highly recommend their chicken plate and their baklava.

As other reviewers mentioned- I second with them - the staff is rude and is always in hurry to take the order of the next customer behind you. They hardly make an eye contact while taking your order. Reluctant to consider any customization. Not generous with their dressing or sauce or hummus. Taste is very generic. You will find other similar places near by where portion size, price and attitude of staff is much much better.

Signature is their portion, very generous, but food is just okay. Went to the place as it had right rate with quite a number reviews while checking on apps. Ordered mixed Shawarma Platter and falafels on side. Very large portion, matching their price I guess. Both chicken and beef were dry, salad was not fresh, pickles were old. Hummus tasted average.

Although this place can be pricey, it is worth it! We ordered two chicken plates that were PACKED with food and flavour. We were each given two pitas which was reasonable. Our favourite part of the plate was the hummus and the garlic sauce. Some might say the garlic sauce is overpowering/too strong, but it was perfect to me. After we were done with our plates, both of us agreed that the rice was unnecessary seeing as we are given pita. We were able to get two meals out of our plates, so I would say the amount makes up for the price.

Pros: Always delicious! 😋 Cons: Not always consistent. 🙄 Every other day, I get a huge amount of food or barely anything! I will make sure they see this picture every time I crave for shawarma 😁

Have been coming here for the last 6+ years from 416 just about every time we come to 613. We have had some amazing experiences before I turned vegan and after as well. This time around though they did disappoint. The falafel sandwiches were good the platter was good overall, the falafel just as we always have had, the salad same and the potatoes disappointed a lot. They were overdone and overly greasy. If this was my first time I would have to think to come back, but I know they do better and will do better the next time

I was on a trip from Windsor to Ottawa it was a long journey and I did not have the chance to try anything special. So I booked a room in the lodge in front of the restaurant. The quantity is huge for one person still the price is expensive. Unfortunately, the taste was TERRIBLE. This is the worst shawarma meat I have ever tasted in my whole life. They are generous but the taste is horrible. Workers talk to each other a lot. Sometimes exchange some unfavourable stories about their past lol. The restaurant is located in a very busy area.

I grew up in Toronto and I thought I knew Shawarma... This restaurant blew my mind. I ended up eating here 2 times in one weekend. Order the mixed shawarma plate and enjoy. My partner got the Falafel and said it was crispy and fresh. 10/10.

We used to get good food here. But recently they have not been reading the instructions and just slapping whatever they want on the plate. We ordered via uber eats and there is no sauce on the meet at all, they put hummus in when I asked for none at all, and the potatoes are burnt. They never seem to have tomatoes anymore and instead they put a bunch of turnip and old nasty remnants of tomatoes instead. For the price I'm honestly not impressed with tonight's order. If I'm paying $18 for something, I'd really appreciate it if you could put what I asked for on it. There isn't even any dressing on the salad. No sauce at all in this meal. :( Update: 10 minutes after writing this review I was looking to see if I can eat anything from the plate and it has raw meat. So I will be throwing the food away. I called the store and because it was 7 minutes passed closing they told me to call "skip the dishes" after I stated uber eats. No care that they served raw meat. Just closing the store. Really not impressed at all.

Chicken platter portion is enormous; enough for 2 people, or one EXTREMELY hungry person. The quality is usually very good, but each item is quite inconsistent, which is the reason for the 4 star rating. I get take out about once a week, and some platters are amazing, while others could be better. Chicken plate (4.3/5) - Always tons of chicken; thick slices and moist, but sometimes it is burnt. Rice flavor is hit and miss; this time it was harsh tasting and not enjoyable. Garlic sauce, hummus, potatoes and salad are always amazing. Falafel (3/5) - they used to be really good, but recently have not been fresh at all. They seem like they have been sitting out getting stale for hours and are drenched in oil on the bottom.

I would say it's a bit expensive but there shawarma plates are always a hit. Drinks are expensive and shawarmas are over priced but the shawarma plates are amazing!! And staff are nice often, shout out to the older man who works their he's really cool. The younger guy kinda got mad at me when asking for extra sauce but oh well. The shawarma plate mixed and potatoes are delicious tho!!

All the Ottawa lists recommend this shawarma restaurant and it did not disappoint! The staff there were so friendly and kind. The gentleman fulfilling my order was the cutest! We got the mixed meat platter; and it filled my husband and I. The portions are worth it. Meat was excellent (beef and chicken). I got the brown rice because I am gluten free and it was flavourful. I love the salad at shawarma places, the pickled beets are my favourite. The hummus and garlic sauce was great. The hummus really exceeded my expectations, super smooth. The garlic sauce, I can never get enough of that stuff. Highly recommend.

Food taste is ok nothing special. But price is too much. I got a Falafel Plate for $20 which is steep compared another place. And they didn't even add rice to my plate untill I asked. Falafel, Vegetables, fried potatoes taste same in any other restaurant. So I have no idea why so much price here. Fried potatoes pieces are too big so they are not crunchy. I prefer Shawarma Place at Bank Street over this even they both are same joints.

Not worth it at all food quality 0 and customer service is the same . I ordered chicken kabob plate not worth $27 is was just a waste it all went in the garbage food tasted very old and dry and the potatoes were very dry and bad also. Food quality has gone down and with there customer service they will lose a lot of customers..

Used to be great, really went down hill. The gentleman preparing our food behind the counter Tuesday evening was certainly less than polite, food was cold, and we only got two pieces of pita with a platter. No napkins, service was generally was generally poor. The cashier was not the problem. This place used to be a 5 star takeout establishment. What happened to the Rideau Street location? Shawarma King is much better post pandemic. Much better staff and better food. You get treated well there.

Today was my experience. At shwarma place at Rideau street it I bought two meals one chicken and the second one was a mix of chicken and beef, It was super salty I could not eat it, just I eat quarters. I did Put It In the garbage. Also, the beef was too soft It wasn't normal probably they did add too much tandraezer met(Meat softener) lost taste and form. I pay $45.00 I put it in the garbage. I will never back again.

Very less quantity of shawarma, bad attitude of employees if u ask anything they will either ignore you or roll their eyes, Very very RUDE cashier. For the platter I asked about the two different types of rice and I got no answer they have no professionalism or motivation to work. No flavour in the food. I literally had worst customer interaction ever, never coming back and never gonna recommend anyone in my life to eat here.

The shawerma pitas were ok but a lot of oil and not healthy/clean at all! Not only the shawerma, look at the garlic potatoes! Thanks but this will be my last time visiting this restaurant.

Honestly just average in most regards. I know this is a popular location and hence it gets busy, especially in the evenings. The food is okay, and while the plates are a decent size, I find them but especially the sandwiches overpriced. Chicken is often a bit dry and while the veggies and salad are fresh, some of the makali toppings seem to be sitting around for a while. The service is often not very friendly or attentive (because so much is happening) and the atmosphere can be busy and good but more often than not it feels like a cafeteria I just wanna be leaving.

  • 5/5 Vlad P. 2 years ago on Google
Delicious. Not overly salty or saucy. At $17.5 for a "plate", it seems expensive but that plate easily serves 2 people, so really I'd say it's $9 a portion. Garlic sauce is absolute flavobomb. Like Godzilla's Atomic Breath, every burp will feel like you're blasting the world with garlic, but in a good way. A+

It's supposed to serve the best Shawarma and falafel in Ottawa, apparently, but I wasn't convinced. I come from the Middle East, and I know the taste of authentic shawarma or Falafel. I ordered a falafel plate The falafel was dry. Hummus was good. Garlic paste was fresh. Veggies were ok. Pickle was good. There was also rice, which was ok. The garlic potatoes were the only best thing in the plate. It's not worth the money paid for. I would have rather just taken a sandwich instead. I left all the falafel after the 1st bit itself. The service was very fast. The place is nice and has enough place to sit. Good for 1 time, and it's the open up until 1 am. on weekdays and 2 am. on the weekend.

The food from Shawarma place is always good and always best in terms of portion. I mean how come one people finish this huge shawarma plate?🤣 Ridiculous! But they serve the best shawarma plate here in Ottawa without any doubt!

Shawarma Palace in Ottawa is a true culinary gem! This restaurant has perfected the art of shawarma, delivering an unforgettable dining experience. The succulent, tender meat, combined with the flavorful spices and perfectly roasted pita, creates a taste sensation that keeps me coming back for more. The portions are generous, and the prices are incredibly reasonable, offering exceptional value. The friendly and efficient staff add to the overall charm of the place. Whether you're dining in or grabbing a quick takeout, Shawarma Palace never disappoints. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a taste of authentic and delicious Middle Eastern cuisine in Ottawa.

Was in town visiting from Toronto and had to try this place. Portions were huge. My wife being vegetarian ordered the veg plate that was more salad and only came with 2 falafel that was not cooked all the way through. It was a lot of salad and the eggplant was cold. One issue I have is by piling on the food, you can't even get at the rice and also way too much garlic to be honest.

  • 1/5 Maria Jose Y. 10 months ago on Google
Ordered two platters , everything was piled on top of everything, hot food on top of cold salad, salad all on top of my hummus has to scoop it out with my fingers as no utensils, no napkins , more rice than anything on the platter forgot to put in my tabouleh and my hot peppers that I asked for the stuffed grape leaves or vine leaves were rotten and tasted bitter. Absolute waste of money. Super upset as it was not cheap. Forgot to put in the extra pita bread we ordered. Extremely disappointed and a waste of money I really don't have to spend. The half beef haf chicken platter was rank, pretty sure the meat has gone bad... 😡 0 stars. Unedible no one ate tonight.

Came here for lunch..super quick service (less than 2 mins). Got the chicken platter with potatoes instead of rice. Includes pita too (they will ask you at the register). The chicken was the star of the show -- juicy and just slightly charred. Seems pricey but it's enough food for 2-3 people.

The line was about 5 people deep but it went by super fast. I ordered 2 Beef Shawarma Sandwiches to go with everything on it. It was solid, could definitely eat much, the portion could have been bigger. The meat was solid but it was an average shawarma.

The shawarma place that everybody talks about! It does live up to its hype! Huge portion and fresh ingredients! We tried the fish too, and they are humongous!

  • 3/5 Bianca C. 2 years ago on Google
The food tastes amazing. I just think maybe they should put a bit more tomato in the tabouli, and for the price they could add a little bit more meat on the plate. There is an employee who was not wearing a mask, it was on his chin.

  • 4/5 Manoj G. 2 years ago on Google
Good quantity and the man who makes shawarmas is quick and nice. He is generous as well. Grabbed chicken shawarma platter, with extra hummus and extra garlic sauce costed around 20.5 bucks. If you are really hungry and wanna eat lot of food. This is one of those places.

  • 4/5 Christy C. 2 years ago on Google
An Ottawa ‘fast-food’ classic — This was the Platter with salad, a heaping of hummus and garlic sauce, chicken, beef, potatoes, rice, and a side of two pitas. The flavours were incredible, very aromatic and garlicky. The meats were well done, and not dry whatsoever! The rice, as well, was extremely fragrant. I can definitely see how it is a local favourite!

  • 5/5 Julio 1 year ago on Google
Probably the biggest Shawarma plate I’ve ever seen in my life. The man who served me was incredibly friendly and gave me a very generous portion of chicken and rice. The woman at the cash was very nice and had the most beautiful smile ! I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a meal that will fill you up for days. 11/10
