I was taken out to Milestones in Ottawa for my birthday over the weekend. I had the Wagyu meatloaf which was delicious. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was amazing. The staff had a lady come in that was complaining about everything from the moment she sat down. She first ask to move from where they sat her, I would see her frantically waving down the staff and just being a total nuisance. Her date/man even left her alone for an extended period of time but the staff. Politely helped her with every issue she brought forward and treated her with decency and respect.

We came to Ottawa for the tulip festival and had a great time at Milestones! The service is quick, the food is amazing and we really enjoyed this location. We tried their spinach dip, the coconut calamari, the filet mignon and their burgers! They were all delicious. You should definitely reserve as the restaurant gets quite busy!

Went here for a very late night meal back in April. Food although not great, was decent; most likely because we went at a pretty late hour. The service was very friendly and inviting 😊 We enjoyed our meal and the ambient!

We had a wonderful dinner here. Every staff member that we made contact with was friendly, courteous and we were met with a genuine smile. The hostess offered us a quieter table as there was a large group coming in. Very kind and thoughtful of her. Chad our server was exceptional. The food was excellent. Our second visit here and this was a beautiful one. The waitress was wonderful. She was friendly and suggestive. It was a beautiful evening and she just made our day even better. The portion of the calamari has been reduced I think since 2019 our last visit. There were barely any. We ordered two kinds of noodles/pasta dish and asked for extra spicy and both were mind blowing. Mine was a mix seafood and hubby's was shrimp noodles. Loved every bite of it. Quantity and quality was perfect!!

Sweet spot with good food and great peeps. Try the chicken Dumettes!!! I'm a wing guy who does not like breaded wings but these little baby's have just the right amount of crunchy light breading and the heat and cucumber dip set it off... wish I had time and the appetite to try more because the dishes coming out look, and smell great. The first time I want their was a year ago and the stakes were overcooked and they changed it for me. And the second time was a week ago and everything was great! Try the mushroom chicken.

The food is is very delicious! If you are planning to eat try the shrimp wham bam (forgot the name) in their appetizers. Is so good! Lots of selections of dish and drink! I love the Miami ice so much! Well done milestone!

Service was very slow and non attentive, despite not being very busy. They clean the tables with spray but with an old dirty cloth. I wiped the table myself and the photo shows how dirty it was. Baaaarf! Calamari was good. Steak sandwich had way too much sauce and too much salt. Tuna sushi bowl was good. Portions are large. Default tip is 18% on top of the tax! Overall experience was meh. I doubt I’d return or recommend.

Beautiful location and view of the city streets. Nice atmosphere. Excellent food! Our waiter Mark was attentive and responsive to requests and questions. To the manager: If you were a perfectionist and wanted to make the restaurant itself perfect, I would repair the wobbly high table by the window (our drinks spilled with the slightest accidental knee on the table) and wash the glass on the entrance doors and make the receptionist's table more respectable. It's unfair that such a good restaurant has a questionable main entrance. Otherwise 10 out of 10!

If you want a safe bet with excellent service in downtown Ottawa it's a great option. Considering the quality and location prices are reasonable. Wide ranging menu means should be something for everyone - decent though mainstream drink selection too. Service was top draw. I can definitely recommend the tuna sushi bowl.

Excellent and quick service, tasty and fresh food and delightful beverages in a prime location. The menu offers variety in terms of cuisine, although not many dishes—decent, though! We visited for lunch and ordered Miami Iced Tea, Wham Bam Shrimp, Mediterranean Chicken with an addition of rice and Dulce de Leche cheesecake. The beverage, starter and the dessert were excellent, while the main course was decent. The service was probably the best part of the restaurant. Upon learning that we were visiting during our anniversary week, they made the dessert complimentary/on the house. A pricey place, though, suited for special occasions.

This is more than 5 ⭐️. We visited for a weekend trip to Ottawa and had lunch here. The waitress was so gentle and kind. The indoor dining is something I would recommend as it gives you more privacy and the seating area is perfectly planned. Buffalo cauliflowers and ravioli finishing with carrot cake as desert is the best combination.

Good options for different diet styles. We avoid unhealthy carbs during the week, and they replaced the potatoe with one of the best salads we ever had!! We chose a chicken with beans that was warm and perfect (comfort food), and a steak with greens and salad that had so much flavor!!! One of the best places we visited!

Divested from Cara but I don’t believe much has changed from the new owners. Still great casual food ! I’ve always enjoyed milestones. A good comfort dish - chicken portobello pesto. They always mail it. Super yummy. Don’t look at the calorie count ! The second dish was a sessional Thai coconut seafood dish. Also good. They made a good effort to dazzle it up. Sussex location on the patio is super. Nice Summer day, many passerbys to people watch the core of downtown Ottawa. Note. The ultimate dining card no longer works here.

Wish to express my satisfaction with the service, professionalism and food at Milestones downtown Ottawa on June 13. Our server Janna was simply outstanding. Compliments to the kitchen staff who were kind to make adjustments to our meals to accommodate our preferences. We are trying to support local restaurants, chains and standalone, as they were very unfairly treated during the lock down. We both hope that Milestones will bring back the Cajun Shrimp Dianne which was their single best dish in the history of Milestones. Thanks again and we will be back. Save your calories and get the steak and seafood dish (lobster meat and shrimps) with a lobster based cream sauce. Heavenly mashed potatoes, good portion of veg, just the perfect portion for hungry diner at lunch. Excellent service.

The food was great and the waitress with the blue nails missing a bow 😊 was awesome. The guy at the door looked lost and was very unsure about what was going on around him. The pad Thai was super delicious and my steak was overdone but the roaster potatoes, green beans, and turnip was saving grace. We will be back.

Great brunch menu, enjoyed a delicious veg. option (avocado toast) with vegan sausages (tasting better than the real deal)! I'd recommend brunching at Milestones to a friend :)

Ordered some Pepsi's, weren't sweet for some reason. Food is pretty pricey, and the portions are small. Ordered the steak and fries, steak was medium even if I ordered med-rare. But the food tasted good and the staff were friendly. Big shout out to our server who was in training. She was very patient and accommodating to my grandmother and all her dietary restrictions.

Had dinner here last night and it was a great experience! Our server, Shawn was so so lovely and accommodating. He was very personable, attentive and friendly. They also made sure to point out where the washrooms were on our way in, which I really appreciated (nothing worse than wandering around to find the washrooms) I would absolutely recommend this location and specifically Shawn! Made our family dinner very special and memorable.

It was a good expérience in general, but the meat was a bit too cooked. Salmon was too dry (classic of restaurant not specialized in fish), and ribs were a bit burnt on the outside. Both of these could be to the taste of some, but not ours. Service, ambiance, etc was very good.

Very nice restaurant close to the Rideau canal, Parliament, major hotels, the Rideau shopping center and the Byward market. We were a group of 7, plenty of room and great atmosphere. The food was really good and the service was great.

My daughter(she is teenager) and her friends came to this location to celebrate birthday today. Their reservation for 5.00 pm. The bill for her was $30 and she gave $50 bill. Others paid by card. The change was only $10. Then she asked another $10. It took about 10 minutes and waitress told this young kids. ,"Next time give them a tip" which is so emberassing for this location.

I had the surf side salad and it was so good and filling and the fish and shrimp were cooked perfectly. I had the French 75 cocktail and it was delicious. For dessert I had an espresso martini and a white chocolate cheesecake and both were perfectly paired and great. The service was fast and friendly. Would definitely go back.

Had a wonderful Canada Day lunch at Milestones on their patio! I called ahead to ask if they were taking walk-ins and they were. We had the Buffalo Cauliflower bites and Coconut Calamari for starters. Their take on buffalo cauliflower is different compared to other places. Both tasted good though. The drinks were amazing too! For mains we had the Surfside salad which was huge with generous portions of salmon and shrimp. The Tacos were good too. Sweet chilli chicken rice and the Thai Basil Noodles were amazing! All in all a good meal to mark the day :)

The mushroom soup and California salad was really good. Steak came to the table cold and tasteless, a small piece of blond hair was on the vegetable beside the steak, maybe extra garnish at no charge? Service was a bit slow, overall wasn't a very impressive experience, next time I crave steak, I'll go to The Keg!

I went to this Milestones yesterday(July 6th) with my wife and sister. The server did not show up for drinks order for first 10 minutes. The drinks were good. Later on, the happy hour drinks hardly had any liquor in it. The food was sub-standard. We ordered a portobello mushroom chicken. The chicken breast was super dry and overcooked. The pesto spaghettini hardly had any pesto in it and the grilled vegetable tasted old. When we requested the server to rectify the speghettini she agreed that the there is hardly any pesto in it and took our plate. Another server showed up with the same plate and offered us additional pesto later. Not sure why my plate made a trip to Kitchen and returned cold. This was a $29 main. I have eaten this main at Milestone at least 7-8 times to know it was no where near it's usually like. There was no discount/compensation on the bill or acknowledgment of this service.

We wandered into this Milestones because we were wanting “happy hour” but they unfortunately did not have it. We just ordered our usual pickings from Milestones and still enjoyed our meal! Had tacos, pasta, steak. It’s in a great location, with a good view when seated by the big window. Service was good.

I came for lunch on a Tuesday. Party of four. Great service and a very good meal. Vegan option was quite nice. We had a delicious South African white wine, at a modest price (about USD 30). Nice atmosphere, beautiful view of downtown Ottawa.

The Reception was really Bad. Poor customer services. It was not possible to make any reservation over the phone before we came (Me,My wife and our 3 Kids).Once we got there ,they asked us to wait for 30 min ... But The waiter's didn't my name , my phone numbers to call us back. So we decided to wait outside the restaurant regarding the COVID situation. But when we came back they asked to wait again for another 60 minutes. So we declined. Because that was not professional at all. They should tell us from the beginning... Again at the ( Restaurant 1 Rideau St in OTTAWA) The front Team was disrespectful and not professional.

We were staying at the Chateau Laurier this weekend for our 20th wedding anniversary and decided to dine in at the Milestones on Sussex Drive for brunch today around 12pm as we couldn't make our evening reservation with them the night before (we had called and cancelled prior too and placed a take out order with them instead which we actually enjoyed) So the decision was to have brunch there, close to the hotel and relax & eat before heading home. My husband was placing some suitcases in the car and my son and I went ahead to get a table. When we approached the desk with our masks on- notably within a foot of the desk edge- the hostess looked up and saw me & my son and knew we were there but waited for a good bit re- arranging menus to even say "hello" or "one momment" or "Hi" or anything at all for that matter. It was very awkward as there were no other people behind us, no other staff there talking to her, the front entry was empty other than us. After her late greeting I mentioned it was our 20th anniversary (no congrats given or comment) that we were meaning to come yesterday evening but couldn't as I was indisposed and we were coming for brunch instead, that my husband was at the parking area and would be along shortly and we asked to have a table for three indoors. The restaurant inside was very quiet, a medium amount of people were on the patio as their brunch menu was not available due to covid, our table was adequate, food was just ok as the steak sandwich and fries my son and I split was only slightly warmish, my drink stood empty for half our meal as our server was partly attentive. What was truly upsetting to me was the server asking if we wanted separate bills on our 20th anniversary! I got really choked up and was taken aback. It was upsetting. Obviously the hostess never mentioned it to him as he never said "welcome or congrats on your special day" when he first arrived at our table. We were very obviously there with our son as a family as both me and my husband discussed the menu with him in front of our server. We are a multi racial couple and the three of us have 3 different skin tones and we were weirdly asked if we wanted separate bills! So I made a point at the end to say to our server it was our 20th anniversary when he brought the debit machine to my husband to pay the bill. He then said congrats but didn't say anything in regards to his " separate bills" request. (***I would like to strongly suggest a few things- it was quiet there and "we were busy" cannot be used as an excuse.) **** Firstly greet someone who enters with a "hi, one second" if you are busy- don't leave them hanging to the point they think maybe they should leave then, also a host/hostess should inform the server of a special occasion, and please consider the table before the first thing out of your mouth is "is it's separate bills?" as this was very much a multi racial family with 2 adults OBVIOUSLY with their child at a FAMILY LUNCH on a Sunday afternoon not a bunch of adults meeting for drinks on a friday night. I found the initial hostess's greeting, the lack of communication about our occasion, the "straight up weird" asking for separate bills all very upsetting and very insensitive. ***This is an edited portion I'm adding after the "form letter" response from the owner*** I am not spending any of my time filling out a survey to help you get to the bottom of the lack of customer service and manners that your employees showed me and my family yesterday on our 20th anniversary. You have all the information you need in my above review, the date- yesterday, Sun Aug 23rd. You have the time- noon. You have those involved - the hostess and our server (only saw a few employees serving) note*we ordered a steak sandwich split in two. You are welcome to fill in your own survey and can "look into it" yourself at any time, you have my complete narrative and experience. What you should have done is treat your customer well and offered a real discussion not " fill out a survey" This again shows a response that is very insensitive.

Nice and cozy ambience - make sure you get a seat with a street view (the bar side) for the best experience. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and would highly recommend it! Service was also top-notch. Only downside was the limited variety of food.

An impromptu visit here on a Friday night - turned into a great time. When we arrived, the place was packed but we were offered seats at the bar. If there’s only two of you, it’s a great option. Service was quick and attentive. The Beaus was crisp and cold. As an appetizer, ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp - a winner! The Lobster Bisque Soup was the perfect choice for a cold winter night. Winners all around.

I've eaten here before, and always loved my food. Today I picked up the "California Spring" salad (I am on a diet), I was expecting to feel unsatisfied because I am eating salad for dinner but this was the most delicious salad I think that I ever had. The staff here are kind and friendly and my food was delicious. I will definitely be returning!

Love this place. Ambiance is very cozy, you can feel romantic if you want, party mood or simply a good place to share a drink. Food is great. We order 3 starters from the happy hour and were good portions. Highly recommend.

Very pleasant and attentive, not to mention funny 😊🇹🇹 He food wasn't bad either, delightful...my sister felt her seafood pasta could use a lil more umph with the seasoning and made a couple requests to which the restaurant acoomodated with no hesitation. We enjoyed spending time there.

I went to milestones the other day with my wife. Prior to covid the food was good and hence why we went back. The evening we went I had ordered the ribs and they were served cold and didn’t really like the cold sauce they put on it. I complained and waiters was nice brought the plate back 10 minutes later and ribs were luke warm , man for 40$ for that dish it was a huge disappointment, won’t ever go back there again.

A great first experience! Our waitress was super helpful and actual gave specific tips about the menu, without having to ask. The food quality was fantastic too. Especially their roasted mushroom soup, absolutely delicious!

Very quiet as a result of Ottawa being on the Orange zone during the pandemic. Sat in the bar area. Staff served me quickly and was nice enough to get me a drink as it was right at last call. Meal came quickly, was hot and was served to order. Didn't have a lot of interaction with the staff but we're good when I did deal with them. Restaurant is close to the Parliament buildings and has a good view of Wellington Street. Also a Bar if you attended in the summer or during patio season. Would return.

Very positive experience at this Milestones location, one of the best experiences I've had in a while. The food was extremely delicious (I had the steak). The server was very friendly, polite, and fantastic. It is especially really great for couples of two. Definitely a place you want to keep coming back to!

The 5 stars I gave are for the pasta because their pastas were amazing!!! The deserts weren't that great and the burgers aren't that great either but trust me, the pesto pasta and the mushroom pasta is all you should eat from that place

I honestly couldn’t tell you how the food was seeing as how I never actually got in. I stood and waited at the door for nearly 7 minutes and nobody greeted me. You would think post Covid opening and they would want more people but apparently service isnt a thing here. I’d suggest having somebody at the door especially during the summer, in a tourist town and especially if you want business

The restaurant is very clean and well managed. The meals are very tasty and fresh, and well prepared. The location is very convenient too.
