Amazing service, atmosphere and sushi! One of my favourite restaurants in the city. We got kamikaze roll, California roll, salmon sashimi and spicy scallop roll. Downstairs seating is really nice and they have private little rooms for your table.

Awesome authentic Japanese food and awesome service. We will definitely come again❤️ The restaurant has private rooms downstairs. The kids just love it so much. For dinner, you may need reservation as it is very popular. (On Saturday, We called in at 6pm, but it was full at the moment so we booked the table at 8pm instead. )

Amazing place. Been a few times and it's one of the best sushi places in Ottawa. Knowledgeable about gluten free and even have a separate menu. On the pricier side, but worth it for the good service and great quality sushi. The photo is the fugetsu meal for 2, and it was the perfect size. Will be back!

Very nice sushi and appetizers. The interior is nicely decorated and good vibes. Unfiltered sake was very good.

Best Japanese restaurant in town. Authentic food from a wonderful Japanese family. They are finally open for takeout during the pandemic. The food was delicious with meticulously prepared presentation. I will definitely get takeout again and support this restaurant!

The restaurant is spacious and has a traditional setting. The ambiance and decor are pleasant. However, if you’ve eaten at many sushi places, you’ll find that the sushi here tastes like most other à la carte restaurants. The rolls were pretty average; they tasted the same as the AYCE ones. Presentation was decent. The pricing for some sushi is insane though. For example, you get 8 pieces of nigiri and 16 rolls for 50$. You could honestly eat more-both in volume and variety-of the same quality sushi by paying 30$ at a sushi buffet. Or hit up Sushi Shop; you can get the same amount of sushi for about half the price.

I was so happy to see one of my family’s favourite restaurants keeping up its high standards. Our dinner was as excellent as usual. In my opinion, this is the only authentic Japanese restaurant in Ottawa.

For a truly authentic experience, you can’t do better. Here, service, ambiance, food and quality are a true representation of a Japanese restaurant that really cares. Been a few times and found it to be consistently very very good. Attention to details is evident and spotless everywhere you look.

It’s been a fantastic experience to visit Suisha on each and every occasion, and this time was no different. This Japanese restaurant certainly stands above the competition in terms of its beautiful decor and atmosphere, but more than anything, the quality of the food just can’t be beat. If you’re looking for the perfect traditional Japanese experience right here in Ottawa, you’ve found the right place — just be sure to act fast, since this precious part of Ottawa’s food scene will be closing permanently at the end of June 2023. You will regret missing out on one of Ottawa’s greatest restaurants.

One of those hidden gem sushi places around Ottawa. You will be amazed with he atmosphere when you walk in to this restaurant. Make sure to visit before they close down on July 1st, 2023!

I came to this restaurant for dinner recently. The boats floating around the sushi bar was definitely a highlight of the restaurant. In terms of food, I tried the Chicken Kara-age and Kaisen Chirashi. The miso soup that came with it tasted a bit salty but bland. The Chicken Kara-age had decent pieces of nicely flavoured chicken that were fresh, juicy, crispy, and tender. The Chirashi had quite a bit of food, including 2 pieces of the following: Salmon (Decent), Tuna (Ok), Maguro (Decent), Hamachi (Fresh and sweet), Scallop (Decently sweet), Snapper (Sweet but bad cut), Squid (Decently sweet), Seared salmon belly (nice blend/change compared to the rest), Surf clam (Sweet), Fish roe (Ok). In general, the sashimi were fairly crunchy, slightly fishy, but overall fairly fresh. The sushi rice was just okay though.

My friends and I celebrated our little girl’s second birthday here. Because we have children, the dinner party was a bit noisy, and the restaurant staff showed great patience. Thank you very much for everything they have done for our birthday. I like the food that day very much. I was very satisfied with all the food that day. Especially eel rice. If you ask me if I will come back here, I will say yes without hesitation.

Authentic Japanese food with friendly staff. Took my family with two toddlers for dinner. We were a walk in and they were able to seat the four of us, but recommend a reservation if you are a bigger group since they are quite busy. They were very accommodating and also had a Japanese style children’s menu. Nice to see Asahi beer on tap with a bunch of other good Japanese beers. Clean, nice atmosphere and excellent quality of food. Mr. Arai and his team delivered a great experience! Will be definitely going back for the Omakase.

Managed to get a reservation in their Tatami room for my best friends before they close on July 1st. The cuts of fish on the nigiri were much larger than other sushi restaurants, and very high quality. I had no idea that the atmosphere of the basement area would be so well articulated. Lots of interesting things to try on the drink menu and dessert menu. It'll be sad when they close up but I'm so glad I got to experience a part of Ottawa dining history.

$45 nigiri+rolls combo=$40 doesn't worth it. The raw fish filling in the roll is left over from the sashimi. Miso Soup taste like water with 10 little pieces tofu. Bento is ok. Gyu don the beef part is like wood, hard and dry. With standard quality beer 10 oz Cost $110. Really not recommend.

This place is amazing, the freshest sushi and sashimi I have ever had in Ottawa, and for a price point that is very fair considering the quality they offer, it is well above other sushi locations. The atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful and calming, while the service is very exceptional. Usually, I dont tend to eat sashimi because I think the raw fish alone is a bit too much for me, and I need the rice to balance out the textures and flavors. However, the fish here is so good and fresh on its own with a great mouth feel when you bite down. it's the first time in my life I have gone out of my way to eat sashimi. It is very unfortunate that they a they will be closing this summer, but I would highly recommend you try this place before they close forever.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant....brings me back to Japan 😁 The nigiri sushi and sashimi is among the freshest in Ottawa and very generous sized pieces! Kids loved the Tempura Udon and Chicken Karage. Service was also super friendly and fast. A must try if you are looking for really fresh sushi in Ottawa. Enjoy!

Fantastic gem of a place in Ottawa! The food is really good and authentic here. In fact, in the past several japanese cultural groups catered from here! We had a work party downstairs and the staff assisting us were very attentive and knowledgeable about their menu. The food was well made and delicious! All plates at our table of 13 were left empty by the staff came to cleanup. This place may be relocating next year due to the building of the hotel potentially being demolished, roughly in June, so I encourage everyone visiting to talk to the owner (gentleman usually at the front) and find out plans. I personally would like to support them since their food is great japanese in Ottawa!

We came here based on a recommendation, and unfortunately, left disappointed. I got two different rolls to try out. As soon as my food came, I noted how unappealing the presentation was. I've never had all my sushi, plus the ginger and wasabi, all served on a single dinner plate before. The ingredients used were subpar, and lacked flavour and freshness. Every piece of sushi was also different sized. As for the taste... it was some of the worst sushi rolls I've ever eaten. The service was decent, the only down side being nobody following up with our bill. Perhaps it was an off night for them, but that was very likely our first and last time there.

It was great sushi in Ottawa. Sushi quality was so great. Even I could have some sweet taste with sushi. Not like a sugar sweet. It was amazing. Unfortunately, this restaurant will be moved to some of Ottawa places soon. I don't know where they will go. If you want to eat the best quality sushi in Ottawa, hurry up!

My fav sushi place in Ottawa! I have been here a few times and it was lovely every single visit! Tip: call in advance and have reservations if possible since they’re quite busy! A few recommendations: - Agedashi Tofu is a must if you’re a tofu lover! I was in awe with the texture and taste! I have never had anything similar before. The gentle crisp covering the silken tofu in sauce topped with bonito flakes! 10/10 - Always love a good wakame! 8/10! I think it’s a good addition but not a must. - We got Hinodé Sashimi, which is the chef’s choice if assorted sashimi for the day and he did not disappoint! Every single piece is prepared to perfection and so fresh! - Unagi Nigiri Sushi was also so delicious and I would definitely recommend it to anyone 10/10 - We also order Katsu Don. Ok hear me out, it was delicious, but take into consideration all the other food cause we’re too full at this point but love rice so much that we have to try. It was delicious though! I would recommend it! 9.0/10 - We also order Soft Shell Crab 8.5/10. If you like crab then it’s an interesting dish, should definitely try! We also order dessert and any option you choose is unbelievably good! Too bad they’re closing soon, C’est Japon is always one of the best places in Ottawa in my opinion!

As far as I can tell, this is the best sushi place in Ottawa. I have tried so many and nothing quite measures up. The food and experience are both ultra-authentic and the fish is always fresh. It's not cheap, but also wouldn't call it expensive either. Especially for what you get. I recommend making a reservation as it seems pretty booked up post-COVID.

The value-for-money is really lacking here. $25 for a salmon bento is just too much considering what I'm getting. I found the salmon was quite dry too. The upgraded $36 Miyuki Bento loses the salad and croquette and replaces it with tempura and seared scallops. Except I see no evidence of the scallops being seared at all, and they were instead a sad grey. At these price points I'm expecting at least a scoop of matcha ice cream to come with the meal as a dessert. Sadly it does not.

Got sushi takeout today after wandering around with no available restaurants to dine in. We got bento boxes and we are very pleased! You saved our night. C'est Japon always does a great job. The sushi looks divine and will be much appreciated after not having had sushi in ages!

This is the best sushi I have ever had. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. Food is absolutely beyond my expectation. Fish for sashimi and nigiri are so fresh and delicious. The staffs are so friendly and professional. I would definitely come back 👍The only thing that I would like to suggest is about decoration of the sushi combo, it looked quite messy in my opinion. Beside it everything else is perfect 👌

Hands down the best Japanese cuisine in Ottawa. The sushi dishes may not be their strength, given the little application of Sushi among the people (e.g. people who order avocado rolls). They have a wide selection of Japanese rice and udon dishes. I am pleasantly surprised that the place is actually owned by Japanese unlike many Chinese owned knockoffs throughout the city. Food is reasonably priced for the quality and attentive services you get here. If you're comparing this place with "all you can eat sushi", you're insulting Japanese cuisine and people who are actually making an effort to provide authentic Japanese cuisine in North America.

Suisha Gardens has been delivering quality, top-shelf sashimi and nigiri for over a decade. You can tell by simply looking at the cuts of fish that they are thicker and fresher than all-you-can-eat restaurants. You'll love the traditional decor and consider yourself lucky if you get a reservation downstairs - always a crowd-pleaser!
