A beautifully appointed restaurant and bar with amazing decor and great staff…. A large selection of beers from around the world both on tap and in bottles will ensure you are well hydrated. An extensive menu offering a list of many choices from burgers, to steaks, to fish and several types of hearty bowls will ensure you’re well fed. Our bartender Emily was awesome!

Stopped by bier markt for lunch and patio drinks a few weeks ago. Pretty decent food and a great selection of beer. At lunch, I ordered the Brie burger which was pretty standard fare. Could have been more flavourful in my opinion. Came back for patio drinks and had a great time. I had their sweet and sour flight and really enjoyed it! The delirium red fruit ale was my favorite so I got another glass of it. The duck wings are also the perfect snack!

Great place to have a beer and grab a burger. Whether inside or on the outside patio, they have really cozy tables. I love their Markt Burget, and my wife is a huge fan of the Beef Brisket Sandwich. Service is usually great, too.

It was going to rain. I was starving. We could get a table inside. If all of these things are ever the case again, I still probably wouldn’t go back. They’ve got nice outdoor seating for people watching, but inside I just watched the dirty glasses pile up on the bar. Our server was friendly but slow. Food was slow, drinks were slow. I didn’t get a knife with my dinner. I had to walk over to the hostess stand to ask for one. I got schnitzel. It’s about impossible to cut with a fork. The schnitzel itself was good and the only reason they don’t get a two star review. The sides were bland and the gravy had an off taste. My sons pizza, plain cheese, wasn’t great either. All in all, this is a place for tourists and even if you are one, you can do better.

Fantastic experience, excellent service and yummy food. We brought Ace Spade Rally group of 80 people and they treated us like we were family. This will always be my goto place for the rally in future visits to Ottawa. Kudos to the professionalism of Peter. One of the best in the industry.

4 years ago I arrived in Ottawa with my family and the 1st place we went to was the Bier Markt. Today as a coincidence we got there again. Nice beer, and excellent service!!!

Bier Market is good for its beer but please don't come here if you're expecting good food. Service isn't too bad and the location is in a great place. Sparks street always has people and events happening on the weekends in summer. So if you're looking to have a beer, Bier Market has several options. The cocktails are subpar and could be so much better with different portions and ingredients. The fish and chips were stale, the tarter sauce was mainly just mayo and the coleslaw was shredded salad. Like I said, not a place to eat, just come for the drinks and enjoy the patio

Great food and a wide selection of beers. Had dinner the night before and came by the next day for a beer and snack. The schnitzel was delicious. Our group ordered different burgers and all gave good reviews. Delirium Bites and Duck Wings were amazing too!

What even is this? 60 dollars for this? Both salads were hot and this sandwich is not all that like your advertised photos. It is not good. By any means. Honestly haha, this is so horrible it’s actually really funny. Good pranks, bier market, good pranks… Do yourself a favour and don’t go here.

I guess only the word TERRIBLE would explain the entire experience in the Bier Markt. Let's start from the beginning: - the waitresses and the host lady a.k.a. wanna be Victoria Secret models has nothing but a bad attitude and manners. As a face to the restaurant/bar they've created bad taste at the very beginning.... Horrible ttansactional relationship with nothing but bad attitude.... Next - the food.... Omg... I know that Canada Day was 3 days ago but Jesus Christ... The fries were probably made last Canada Day and were warmed up once a week until we arrived... I thought - let me order a coffee... The wanna be model that was serving us said that there is no espresso as it was all spent on Canada Day... Wait what??? Ok I said - can we order filter coffee? She granted our wish and 15 min after came and gave me a spilled coffee, so much spilled that the base was no longer having any space available. Next - we ordered a cranberry juice for my little one and pineapple ninja mojito... I think there was 1/2 inch of cranberry and everything else was ice... Buy the best of all was when I got the mojito with a straw smaller than the glass.. And the prices.... Omfg... $20-25 for a salad, $25 for a burger... They are making money just from a location perspective, everything else is simply horrible. I am hoping this will help you make a.wise decision and avoid the place even though the patio and location is nice.

The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. The poutine was excellent. The beef was just about ok, but I do come from Alberta so maybe it’s just that! The drinks were amazing too and the service was absolutely amazing.

Went in, had a few flights some cocktails and dinner. The server was awesome. Didn't complain when I used 5 years worth of xmas gift cards to pay for everything. Definitely a great place to check out if you're on spark street.

First time eating at Bier Market on Sparks St. The chicken burger was average - the chicken did taste fresh. The poutine was average - would have liked more cheese and less gravy. The pretzel was good but the cheese sauce was odd. The cauliflower curry dish was pretty good for a vegetarian option but is pricey. Our waitress was very chill and pretty on top of it for drink and food order. Pretty busy outside on patio but indoors there weren’t many people for a Saturday night. Overall pretty good place to go.

I had a good experience at Bier Market. The service was top-notch; our attentive servers made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening. The drink selection was impressive, with each brew we tried proving to be wonderfully flavorful and refreshing. Despite visiting on a busy Friday night, I was pleasantly surprised by the short wait time. The atmosphere was lively and friendly, making for an enjoyable dining experience. While the food leaned towards the oily and fatty side, it was still tasty and satisfying, complementing the excellent beverages perfectly. All in all, the Bier Market is a fantastic spot for a casual and enjoyable night out.

Ordered a brew burger and a drink, both were great and reasonably priced. Service was good. Atmosphere was also good. I was with a bigger party (8) but we were easily accommodated as it was pretty early. Nothing remarkable, but a very pleasant experience

Food was good. Had the special, turkey club on a pretzel bun. Was real turkey breast, not processed. Good beer selection. Service was great, I was at the bar and the server brought my 2nd beer just as I was finishing my first. I visit here every time I am in Ottawa.

Have been here many times. The food is decent. They have some happy hour specials but nothing great. They do have a great selection of beer that has been significantly reduced likely due to covid. It is still pretty good and they have a good mix of local craft brews and international options. They have a nice patio and service is generally very good. The burgers are decent, schnitzel is huge and I think too much for most people to finish, and pizza is pretty good too.

I was here three nights in a row, tried different foods and drinks. Food and drink quality is good. Staff are well-trained, professional and friendly. I really recommend Bier Markt! Try it.

The hostess struggled to accomodate 7 people on Saturday night. It was as easy as putting 2 tables together. However, she came with a lot of excuses (we only have 1 server, the kitchen will close in 20 minutes, we can't sit more than 4 people per table...). We almost leave the place. She complicated a very easy task. Other than that, the waiters were good and the food was not bad neither.

Service here is painfully slow and hard to flag down service. Food was good. Service not so much. Water refill requested never came. Asked for the bill which took a long time to come. Was dropped off any now waiting to pay which continues to be incrementally painful.

We ducked into Bier Markt for lunch during Winterlude. Our group of six was seated right away here. It wasn't empty, but the restaurant was less busy than we expected. Despite this, service was very slow. The beer menu is pretty good. The food menu is not large, and our food had mixed reviews. We ordered the cauliflower bites, which were legitimately tasty. We also ordered the big pretzel, which was actually two pretzels! We thought the pretzel was nothing special, but we liked the mustard that it came with. It just needed more mustard. Overall, this place was uninspired but fine. It would've been better if the service had been more on the ball and if the individual meals hadn't come at random intervals over the course of 5-10 minutes.

My friend visited me from Poland and we went to visit the capital. We went for lunch with a large group. And we were pleased. Large portions, good food, friendly service, American decor. The friend was pleased. Prices very affordable.

Wonderful atmosphere. Food arrived fast and hot. Daytona, our server, was friendly and attentive, immediately noticed when we needed another round of drinks, gave us some touristy advice. Definitely would recommend!

My order of fish and chips was excellent, while the service was great. (I was in a rush so my waitress did a good job of bringing me my bill and food quickly). The only thing that I would flag is that this restaurant is among the pricier food options in the area. My plate of fish and chips with a diet Pepsi cost me $29 (tax and 20% tip included). So if you are on a budget you can skip coming here. Otherwise, this is an enjoyable place to have a meal.

Was in Ottawa for a wedding and figured we'd try it after hearing many great things. Unfortunately we were sadly disappointed. I was willing to give a bit of leigh way as it was the Sunday after Canada day but honestly if your kitchen manager can't get proper kitchen staff or order enough stock maybe you should've closed after lunch. As per the pics the poutines fries were under cooked next to no cheese curds and well the pizza picture speaks for itself. I guess besides being out of wings they were running out of cheese curds, cheese and jalapeno sausage and needed to skimp by to make it through the rest of the night. I've never done a review before but had to post. If your kitchen staff can't put out two of the simplest menu items properly maybe it's time for a review of the back of house.

I visited with a friend two days ago and ordered the fish and chips as well as the drunken duck wings. The fish and chips was really well done (cod was really moist and chips were fantastic). I don't think the drunken duck wings were particularly special, but tasted good. The servers were super nice, and the vibes were great. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're in town!

Went for lunch with a friend, on their patio and had a great experience. She had the tuna bowl and I had the Chicken Chimmichurri Salad, both very good! The service was great. Returned today (Tuesday) with a group of 5, and we couldn't sit on the patio - something to do with liquor licence? It wasn't that busy inside, 2 tables, but service was very slow. We all had burgers which were good. The upgrade to a poutine for $3.50 (?) is a joke - it was so small. Very disappointed this second time around.

The waitress was not wrong, this drink barely tasted like pineapple/lavender and so much like alcool. It was still good but so strong. Staff was nice.

The patio was awesome and the service was great. The calamari was the highlight of my meal, the chicken burger was okay, the sweet potato fries were great, the negroni was mediocre. I’d recommend getting something else as your main.

I've been visiting this location for the last 12 years and it has been a staple in my trips. The location is excellent, the food is classic pub food, the service is always with a smile and the drinks never disappoint.
