I am only giving it a 4 star since I was a little disappointed with the service. I know lots of businesses are struggling to find good people because of COVID so I don't want to penalize them too much but want to take this opportunity to provide them with constructive feedback. I will first say that I am not a member. I was there as a guest. There were four of us and we all decided to take the 4 course tasting menu with the wine pairing. Typically with that kind of menu the server will describe what you are getting since it's a surprise really. They typically also let you know what kind of wine they are bringing you with each course. Unfortunately none of the wine was described. I thought after I asked what the first glass was she would have taken the hint and ensured she told us the following ones but that was not the case. Nor did she describe what each of the courses were. I certainly get that service at other high end restaurants I would expect one that requires a membership to offer that level of service as well. They were also not really paying attention at our drink levels. We were prepared to drink much more as we chatted after dinner but after asking twice for another drink we just decided to leave. That being said. Great view as everyone else here has mentioned. The food was delicious. Take the time visit and check out the art all over the area.

Rideau club discriminates against religious beliefs. I went for an interview and as soon as I walked in they start asking me about vaccination status. The reception lady was very strange and seemed disgusted that I said that I was Christian and do not believe in needles, tattoos or piercings. I would recommend staying away from this place in regards to food and work. They clearly don't understand the Canadian values of equal opportunity and inclusivity.

Amazing heritage. Beautiful facility, well located in downtown Ottawa. Great view. Excellent food and service.

Exceptional environment on the top of the city. This private club caters to the business and political leaders in the city. Very welcoming staff and beautiful rooms suited to whatever situation you might need. We were invited to attend a special dinner with work colleagues. The service was excellent and so was the food. Views to the North are awesome looking towards Parliament Hill and Gatineau. There is a dress code but it is fitting with the atmosphere. If you have the opportunity make sure to take a peek at the Yousuf Karsh photos. Highly recommended venue.

Beautiful historic location in a modern building. Food impeccable as always and service above and beyond the norm.

Had an incredible strawberry basil gin cocktail. .so fresh coupled w the amazing viewof Ottawa...can't go wrong. It's a great place to stop Thursdays for 5à7

Love this place, love the view and good food. What is not to like. And very accessible by bus. I tend to like to take my car everywhere but when going here, the bus is perfect.

Amazing food and service

Wonderful venue, great food, staff are solicitous. If you appreciate good wine and food pairings they have knowledgeable staff who make recommendations and a wine list that includes unusual (hard to find) vintages. I love the evenings they have live music in the bar. The new lounge is a great space to enjoy conversation. I think this would be a superb venue for a wedding or other family function (we have a family dinner at Christmas every year and it never disappoints). I look forward to all events at this club.

I attended an event here recently. They had okay appetizers, but the drinks were subpar. Additionally the interior appeared dated, much like the interior of Rideau hall to be fair, so this could just be an Ottawa thing. Overall the environment seemed uncomfortable.

It is exactly what you imagined.

If you know a member, the Rideau Club is an incredible venue for a reception. The private elevator that whisks you straight to the top floor, and the entire place radiates exclusivity. The service is impeccable, and prices are quite reasonable.

The Rideau Club is an old members only club with tons of Canadian history, Sir John A MacDonald was the first president. As well, they have pictutes of all the previous Canadian Prime Minister's in their lobby, along with several pieces of Canadian art and artifacts! I have eaten here a few times with members. If you get the chance to go here I would highly recommend it, the food is great and the history here is overwhelming!

Delicious mains and appetizers, and the bartenders make a great Old Fashioned.
