Lunch was fabulous. After visiting the Agricultural Museum of Canada we were so desperate for seafood. We ordered Oysters, Grilled Salmon, Mussels, Fried Squid. Everything tasted wonderful. The restaurant was fully packed with people!!! Our order came little bit late but understandable given so many customers walking in. You can guess why they were so many people at lunch although Dishes were not on the cheap side. Great place to dine in.

Mehhhh, not great. Didn't feel like their food was very fresh, mostly tasted frozen. It's just an ok place, you can get way better food for your buck elsewhere... The service was good though. But the food is cheap quality and average, not a chef's menu.

I have a lot to say about this place: First: me and one of my friends had salad in this place and my salad was awfully salty and sour, and my friend’s salad had a hair in it. I told them I don’t want bacon in my salad and they forgot to take it off so we both had to wait more. My friends who ate burgers were satisfied but my other friend who had a steak said it was very oily and we could saw how greasy and oily it was. This place is obviously a high-end place but if we’re paying that much money then we should be having something nice right? (the ceaser salad I had was 16$ and fries were 6$) Anyways, one star I gave is for the nice waiter who gave us free drinks for the inconvenience and the other star is for the burgers cause my friends were satisfied. I am not coming back to this place :)

I can’t say enough great things about Somewhere Dine Bar. The food is absolutely spectacular, atmosphere is perfect - the hidden patio is so beautiful and has such a great vibe. Staff is phenomenal, you can tell each employee is genuinely happy to be working there which is something you don’t see often. I highly recommend asking for Aurel or Emily as your sever, you will not be disappointed. It is very apparent that the owners take a lot pride in their establishment as it is very well reflected in every aspect of the restaurant. Majd is also such a sweet, caring person who will go above and beyond to ensure his guests are satisfied. I’ve had many things from Somewhere Dins Bars menu, everything is delicious. I highly recommend getting the oysters or the crab & corn dip to stars and steak or salmon as a main.

This has turned into my favourite spot in Ottawa. I celebrated my 24th birthday here, and it was a great time. Their food is delicious, and their cocktails are great. The $10 triples are idea if you want to get very drunk. The interior is gorgeous and they play great music. The fact they have heaters made it enjoyable at the end of September. I told staff that it was my birthday, and they brought us a creme brulee and we did shots with the owner. I will be back here again and again.

my friend and I had made a reservation on open table a week prior the day of the visit. First they put us outside where it is very cold and said we are allowed to stay up to 2 hours, then a few minutes later the waitress came back and told us we are only allowed for one hour and half (we left after one hour by the way). The tables and seats really need refreshements, it's really a shame. But after a few a minutes there, we realized that this place runs on Middle easterns doing their hooking up things there.. Food is OK yet french fries are not home made. We paid over 180$ and was not really worth it. I highly advised not go there. That was our first time there and certainly the last one. Ciao bye !

We really wanted to like this place. Our server Maddie was great - attentive and kind. Unfortunately I was served RAW chicken. I am also pregnant, so this was extremely upsetting and dangerous. I was not charged for my meal as a result, and my husband was offered a complimentary beverage. What was disappointing to us is that the manager/owner was sitting right beside us at the bar the entire time, watched me return my raw chicken and never came over to speak to us. Yet he had no problem getting up to greet people walking through the door. Another thing that alarmed us was the amount of patrons walking through the restaurant without masks on. I went down to use the washroom (which is extremely tiny and by regulations should have a sign indicating one person at a time) two girls came out not wearing masks. All in all, we won't be returning.

I came here for a business lunch and dinner. The atmosphere and service were great. The appetizers were delicious, though not convinced the carrot twist on hummus is really necessary. Asparagus side was one of the best I've ordered anywhere. The Filet Mignon tasted a lot better than it looks, as it was cooked to perfection. The tuna is really great too. Overall, a great experience. 😀

Visiting Ottawa with my daughter and popped in for spontaneous dinner. Ambience is lovely. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Ordered the goat cheese appy to share and it did not disappoint. Generous serving. Followed by duck leg and beef tartar. Duck leg with excellent fixings was incredible. Beef tartar was sadly lacking - bland, no egg yolk, and came with chips! What no French fries??!! Would never happen at a French bistro in France! Luxe can do better there. Would definitely recommend, just don’t have the steak tartar!

A friend of mine had visitors from Kitchener in town over the weekend, after exploring the Byward Market I suggested dinner at Luxe. Our server was very attentive, the ambiance was perfect and everyone was very happy with the choice. Flavours in every dish were delicious and the Wine menu has a pairing for every food item in the restaurant! Highly recommend dining here 🙌🏼

I've been to this establishment a few times in my day, but only a couple since new ownership. Tonight specifically was an excellent experience! There was a slight wait for a table but within minutes I recieved a prompt phone call that a table was being prepared for us. The drinks were made fast, but not sloppy, and it was quite busy this evening! Our server, Jeremy, was a knowledgeable, enthusiastic person! Felt right at home upon entry! Will always recommend this wonderful establishment to my friends and family!

spectacular experience with Tom and Olivia this evening! they were amazing from start to finish. the drinks were wonderful (drank my Tickle Me Pink too fast to take a picture but it was delicious - Tom recommended it and it rocked!) food was out of this world. they do steak like no one else, cooked to perfection, tender, flavourful, all around fantastic. the tartare….. y’all…….. delish. the fries with the steak frites are so delightful, little shoestring fries with truffle oil and lots of parm🤤 we will absolutely be returning!

Came here on a Saturday for some brunch, we sat in the patio which was nice because the weather was nice. We ordered drinks to start, unfortunately the waitress spilled one of the drinks on the table all over my phone and shoes. Wasn't too happy about it, because it seemed like she didn't know how to properly hold the drink tray, maybe for next time it would be nice if she put the tray on the table before handling our drinks. Other then that the food was good, I've been here before for lunch and I've loved the lunch menu. It's a nice restaurant, the staff is nice and it's location is perfect right at the middle of the byward market, definitely a must try during summer time

Wow. Just wow. From the moment we walked in I was super impressed with the atmosphere and when the hostess greeted and seated us it was with professionalism and we immediately knew we were in a fine dining restaurant. There was a surprise though, read on. We were quickly seated in a perfect wide 2 person booth which is super comfy and more than wide enough to cut into a steak and not worry about elbowing someone walking by. Calming lights of all types, great art and literally one of the best ambiances I've experienced in a restaurant let alone one with such a great price point. the food was delicious and fresh.

Visited this place for a regular dinner with no expectations and enjoyed it a lot: Steak 🥩 was soft, tender and juicy, perfectly grilled, accompanied with baked potato 🥔 and veggies 🥬🌶️ 8/10 Beef bourguignon - first time I see it served with papardelle - interesting mix of French and Italian cuisines 🤌 I expected more sauce however 8/10 For dessert we were suggested cheese cake 🍰- and it was remarkable 🤤 in-house freshly made,with crunchy bottom layer, moderately sweet tender main level, topped with crunchy graham crackers - delicious! Not mentioning it was beautifully served 👌 Must say it was a bit heavy for me, but for two persons we enjoyed it! 8/10 Service is friendly and professional. Recommended

Everything was good. Service, food, atmosphere. I think the place itself could be a bit cleaner and neater, that's why the atmosphere is "4", not 5. And I'm not 100% happy with the cocktails, but they are good enough. Overall it was a good experience for regular lunch/dinner

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience at Luxe. The steak was top notch quality and taste. However, the sides left something to be desired… the mashed potatoes were not silky, they tasted like they were from a tv dinner. The drinks were fabulous and trendy. Caesar salad did not have croutons but was tasty and different. The bread was great but you have to ask for it several times, we found that was not great. The cheesecake was OK. We would go back just for the filet mignon!

Went here for a large gathering and this venue didn't disappoint. When they claim the best steak and burgers in Ottawa, they really aren't kidding! I had an Empress Gin, and oysters to start. The oysters were fresh, delicious, and shucked well. Continued to have the Black and Blue burger. Let me tell you, it was the juiciest burger I think I've ever had, along with a Kale Cesar salad; which made me feel better about myself. Unfortunately due to covid, last call was at 9pk and our party had to vacate at 10pm. Nothing against the establishment, they're doing their part!

Amazing experience! Staff is very welcoming and food was excellent! Many gluten free options, even celiac-safe fried options! I totally recommend this restaurant for anyone passing by downtown Ottawa! I also suggest the fried squid, it is an absolute delight, best one I've ever had.

My wife and I had lunch at Luxe Bistro today. The "French Onion Soup" burger was a clever idea, the frites were hot and crisp, service was fast and friendly. We would definitely return. Pandemic stuff: there are transparent panels between all the tables, you check-in via a QR code on the table, the place has been cleaned until it sparkles.

The food is succulent. It was my birthday I enjoyed ittttt. Thanks to the staff and the superbe food. I had the Fried Duck and my friend had the Sweet potatoes Gnocchi and some french Martinis

The food was delicious! There was a little bit of a wait in between arriving, getting seated, and getting served, as can be expected for a place taking extra precautions due to the pandemic. Our server was friendly and efficient, and even offered us drinks on the house as the food was taking a bit longer than expected. I was also told by someone I know that their veggie burger is delicious, which is a nice surprise for a steakhouse. Definitely recommend!

Atmosphere is beautiful, the mirrors and decor are relaxing and create an opened welcoming. The servers have always been fantastic, above and beyond whether it's a group or a couple, I've always had amazing servers. The oysters are my go-to while there, would recommend trying them. The duck confit is always delightful and filling, presentation makes it taste even better. My favourite is the beef bourguignon, always seem to have to get that while I'm there.

It seem like the owner is not in need of new customers... We were waiting to be seated, the waitress told us she would come back. Then she came a minute later saying the owner is not accepting new people, while some tables on terrace were empty!!! She was really sorry for us and didn't seem to understand either... So, no need to go there you could disturb the owner... Some others places are great!!

New to the area still i decided to check out "s o m e w h e r e dine bar".  I walked in off the street on a Sunday evening at about 730pm and the pace was full.  There was room at the bar and being my usual single party of one, that suited me just fine. The bartenders (JJ - Jacob and Johna) were mixing cocktails.  Jacob being new to tending bar and Johna mentoring his every pour.  This was to be my entertainment for the night. I had a pina colada to start as I left it up to Jonah to pic the drink of choice.  That was his suggestion. The cocktail was well balanced and not at all overpowering on the rum as some places do.  Overall it was a good cocktail. I went straight for the main and had the Braised Lamb Shank.  Another recommendation by Jonah.  It was on point.  The lamb was fall of the bone cooked and the glaze was very well balanced.  Even the brussel sprouts (which i am not a huge fan of in general) were quite tasty.  Roasted/grilled they had a nice caramelised flavor. Overall the Braised Lamb Shank was excellent I did opted for dessert and went with the chocolate brownie and an espresso to compliment it.  The brownie was rich with the caramel and ice cream.  But the espresso cut that nicely and balanced it out. Overall the staff was friendly, the food was really well prepared and tasted great.  Jonah even sat for a minute and we chatted about other great places for me to try. Overall it was a great dining experience and I highly recommend s o m e w h e r e dine bar. Total was $83 (tax and tip included) for the night.

Lovely atmosphere outside on the patio. They have their patio at the back of the restaurant, it’s filled with string lights and other nice decor, perfect for a night out. Food is great and the service is even better. I ordered the gnocchi poutine with braised beef and it was like nothing I’ve ever tried before but so so good. They have tables set up for meals and they also have a more longue like area outside as well. Highly recommend this place!

Food is decent (similar to Sur Lie, the place before it - same owners/chef perhaps?). The crowd is young and loud - doesn't feel like the two should mix. Higher end food, lower end clientele.

Edit: this is a review for Sur Lie, not the rebranded s o m e w h e r e I had my post city hall wedding dinner here, for 13 people and one toddler. I don’t have photos yet but I’ll add them when I do (and if I remember). It’s been a few days since dining here and we are all still talking about how incredible it was. We went with the family style dinner and the amount of food we received blew my mind. Every dish made us close our eyes and savour it. We can’t talk enough about how delicious it all was. The service was also better than I would have ever expected. As the bride they catered to every question or concern I had, and were preemptively asking me things to make sure I was ok. Overall, I was so incredibly happy with our experience and will be talking about it for a long time. I can’t wait to go back.

I'm no expert for restaurants but in my opinion the steak was quite small (for $35 portion), meat was very hard to chew and I found a hair in my meat. My wife had the same and besides for the size she was happy with hers. I didn't ask for any kind of deduction or anything but I did point it out to the waitress. It looks very nice, and taste is ok.

A wonderful evening on the patio! Delicious food and decadent wine. We had the Bouillabaisse and the Duck leg- both divine and perfectly done! Our server Trevor was fabulous... super friendly, professional and excellent menu suggestions ...we arrived a little weary and left feeling well fed and taken care of! Thank you. Ive been with my girlfriend for 6 months now and because of the pandemic we never had a dinner out... So we we're pretty exited for our dinner. we went to Luxe the evening was PERFECT. Our waiter Tom gave us exeptionnal service and was able to guess a wine that fitted our exactly what we wanted. Overall experience A1 and we definitely recommend the place and de waiter 👌🏼

Visiting Ottawa for the first time and found this nice place to have brunch. I ordered its salmon egg benedicts, tasted so good. The atmosphere is nice if you pick a table in the patio. The waiter is helpful too. The price is not cheap but value for money. Would be nicer if the coffee comes with a cookie though.

I think this place has some decent food, but definitely not worth the price it was, and maybe my expectations were elevated by how expensive it was on the menu. The lamb was 41 dollars, but pretty dry and tasteless, with minimal seasoning and some saucy mashed potatoes underneath. The desserts weren't too bad, but flavoring and texture could've been more well balanced. Our server was very nice
