A very decent place to have an equally decent buffet. To begin with, the restaurant is very well laid-out, with three pretty large rooms tucked away in three different areas, and hidden from each other. The ambience of the place is commendable, including the various statues, figurines and wall decorations. The dishes offered are varied and prepared pretty well. The servers are hard-working and courteous. My only two peeves are, first, that the beef was too hard, and needed a lot of chewing and, secondly, that there isn't enough light on the flight of steps leading up to the entrance door. Those are probably the two reasons this location will get a 4-star rating from me instead of a five. Overall, very much recommended.

Mixed feelings about this restaurant. Oh it is designed so well that one feels like just sitting here and admiring the artefacts but we were here for food and on a timeline. The steward suggested we take a look at the buffet (lunch) as the ala carte would take time. The buffet was excellent. A large variety of indian dishes and some Chinese thrown in as well. But hello.They share you extra for nan's. This is the first time I have seen this in a buffet. We were a large group, about 12 of us and we ate well. The deserts were amazing. Eat here once. They cook well and thank heavens they don't use soda to cook. Think about the Nan's please. Indian food without a variety of nans is nonsense.

I have given three stars for one and only one reason, there is carbohydrate in almost all of their buffet options. Couscous in the yogurt???? Also a few very common options were missing that almost all Indian buffets have. Other than that, the quality of the food was acceptable. Some dishes seemed to be warmed many times and the top layer was a little dark and old looking.

The food isn't bad. My issue was that my food was very cold and the portions are a joke. If I ate at the buffet I would have paid less and gotten much more food. The food in the pics was $60 of food. Unbelievable. I will never order take out from here again.

Very good buffet and the service was very good as well. There was a large variety of dishes at the buffet and it was well worth the price. Came with a few friends and we were all satisfied. Will be back again.

Went for a lunch buffet. Very good quality Indian food and desserts. The service is very nice even though there is only one server during the day. Good value for your money. Highly recommend. Music could be a wee bit lower in volume but great atmosphere.

I had high hopes from here just going by the reviews. We tried lunch buffet on a Saturday with family and it was not good. Food especially coconut, tomatoes chutney were stale. The mushroom curry was stale. I had never had a single experience in a diner where they serve stale food. Service wise it wasn't good either. There was long wait for the Dosas and the the serving person was overwhelmingly busy being the only one serving all the customers. I hope they value honest reviews and make changes accordingly.

First night in a restaurant in a long, long time. We were not disappointed. I ate the not very spicy choices and hubby tried the spicy stuff from the buffet. I loved the fact that everything was clearly labeled. All the items were hot and fresh. Customer service was excellent. I think we met the owner, the head chef and excellent wait staff. We were so glad we stopped. We will return one day again.

The service was good. The host, servers and I think manager were really nice and accommodating. However the food was so so and one of the cups we had had lipstick on it. Quite disconcerting considering Covid. They did nothing to compensate for that but did give us an option to replace or not be charged for another dish that was not good. The samosas were good and the mango chicken was nice as well.

The staff is friendly, variety of Indian delicious food in their buffet is worth the money and your time. Highly recommend it and will visit again. thank you🙏🏻

East India Company is by far my favourite place for Indian food in Ottawa! The food is always so good at both locations and at their Winnipeg location as well! The service is excellent. I highly recommend!

We have ordered thier very famous Malai Kofta and they sent us Kadhi pakora. The thing is we called them and complained about this and they were not accepting their mistake. That's so rude!!

If you want amazing food look no further. East India Company offers the best Indian food, with incredibly fresh ingredients. The quality of service is equally amazing! Highly recommended!

Good vegetarian options on the a la carte menu. Helpful staff. Nice Indian sculptures. Kolfa dumplings could be fresher.

We tried something new ordering from East India Company, and we were not disappointed! All the finishing touches and great food. Upon opening the bag we received a handwritten note from the owner thanking us for our patronage with personal contact information if there were any issues. Very nice touch:) The samosas were DELICIOUS and normally, with an order of an appetizer like samosas or spring rolls you'd only get two - the order came with FIVE! Great value:) We ordered the butter chicken and the chicken 65. The butter chicken was a little oily, but sooooo good. The chicken 65 - if you like tangy, flavourful, spectacularly spicy - A MUST ORDER. Will definitely be ordering from here again:)

The food was okay, I found the chicken tough to eat. The dessert bar was really terrible. Ice cream had a weird after taste. They seem to have run out of items and didn't restock. The service was subpar, only two waiters so understandable.

Recommended if you are an Indian cusine lover🥰 best food ad well as thali option is best for 2. Enjoyed patio and customer service.

This is absolutely amazing food. It is really authentic. I liked everything ecsept 2 things in the buffet!

This is only a personal opinion, but I only liked 5 or 6 of the buffet choices mainly because I'm not much of a vegetarian. My favorites were the lamb and butter chicken. I did like the spicy drumsticks, but my goodness was it ever spicy! The flavour was amazing, but my tongue couldn't handle it. For the desserts, I liked the gulab jamun and ice cream. Be prepared to pay $40 with tax and tip per person, just for the buffet itself. Drinks and naan bread are extra.

I recently ate at the buffet. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. There was a good selection of food and I enjoyed getting to try everything. The servers were on their A game. They kept my glass of water topped up without asking which was super helpful with the spicier dishes. I will definitely return again.

Staff is good. And the resturant looks good. Variety if indian food. Mushroom masala was my favourite in buffet. Icecreams in dessert section are really nice. Mango mousse was yum. Variety of chatnis gor indians

Food is delicious and tasty.. try mustard crab curry its very good in taste.. Serving staff (Avleen) is very good .. they treat your kids very kindly .. Note try to add more items in the buffet..

I have been eating at East India Company since high school - the food is consistently amazing. The buffet always has something new as well as all of the classic items! The service is always great - highly recommended.

Visited with family a while back. What a great experience! Shobana and Jay helped us and they were really nice and friendly. Told us about all the options and costs for the buffet. The food was really good, had a variety of salads, different vegetables, wonderful snacks and desserts as well. Will definitely visit again.

Very disappointed to get home and see my naan was burnt. We also found the food to be very oily with pools at the top of each dish. Pics attached.

So my brother and I didn’t know where to eat last night and so my brother recommended this restaurant he’s been there. At first with a 3.9 star review I was a bit sceptical but my brother said he’s been there and my brother has a wicked sense of good taste so i didn’t second guess him. When we arrived we were taken care of right away and seated we chose to go with the buffet option. Just looking around it was clean and proper. At first I ended up with rice curry and samosas that was a 4/5 then for the next dish we both got buttermilk chicken and rice and words can’t describe the taste of that the chicken was tender moist with love with the sauce that makes u just want to drink it it’s that good. We were full after half eating half of the second plate we finished with the plate but it was a struggle it was too good to leave for waste. Over all it was fantastic they’re proper with the restaurant and the meaning behind it all I will be back for sure and highly recommended this restaurant best Indian restaurant I’ve currently been too and will be back. For how clean the place is and how good the meals were and the customer service was amazing overall it’s a 5 star 3.9 does not justify how amazing this spot is

Friday at noon I went to the East India Company and it was the best experience ever! The food was amazing! Our server helped us understand the food! She was so sweet and kind! She made sure we had everything we needed at all times! She made our night!! We will definitely be going back to get that kind of customer service
