Never
thought
our
first
foray
into
public
dining
after
staying
home
for
1.5yrs
of
pandemic
would
be
to
a
buffet...
but
here
we
are.
I
have
to
say,
once
we
got
there
we
were
very
comfortable
(covid-wise).
We
called
ahead
to
make
our
Friday
night
dinner
reservation
(required)
for
6
people
(all
have
been
in
our
bubble
throughout).
We
were
informed
that
buffet
pricing
had
increased
to
$35.99
per
person.
Seniors
get
20%
off,
I
believe.
I
personally
dont
find
that
price
worth
it
for
the
meal
because
I
cant
eat
enough
to
make
it
worthwhile;
however,
this
restaurant
was
the
birthday
person's
choice.
We
did
look
at
their
list
of
covid
precautions
on
their
website
and
I'm
happy
to
report
all
were
followed
as
far
as
I
could
tell.
We
arrived
to
find
there
was
a
separate
exit
(roundabout
doors)
and
entrance
(side
of
building).
Masks
are
required
at
all
times
inside
except
when
seated
at
your
table.
There
are
many
hand
sanitizing
stations
throughout.
All
staff
are
masked
and
most
have
face
guards
as
well.
Everyone
seemed
to
have
friendly
eyes
-
I
feel
like
they
were
making
an
extra
effort
in
that
reguard
due
to
being
masked
(which
was
appreciated).
Customers
give
their
reservation
name,
step
up
to
plexiglass
where
a
mounted
thermometer
takes
your
temperature
via
the
forehead.
The
result
is
visible
to
all
patrons
entering.
Then
you
are
lead
back
to
your
table
while
the
rules
are
explained
to
you.
Big
red
arrows
on
the
floors
mark
directions.
Circles
mark
six
feet
of
distance.
There
are
hand
sanitizing
stations
at
each
area's
entrance/exit
as
well
as
a
boxes
of
different
sizes
of
disposable
gloves
which
we
were
instructed
to
use
when
getting
food.
Tables
in
the
dining
rooms
were
marked
"not
in
use"
and
missing
table
cloths
to
keep
proper
social
distances.
When
a
party
would
leave,
everything
was
sanitized
and
replaced.
Our
dining
room
was
definitely
less
than
half
full
but
the
turn-around
on
tables
was
fairly
steady.
When
making
the
reservation,
we
were
told
they
didnt
have
enough
space
at
the
time
we
requested
so
were
given
two
other
time
options.
We
chose
5:45pm.
The
parking
lot
was
about
half
full
when
we
arrived.
Inside
it
was
lively
but
not
busy,
never
crowded.
This
included
around
the
buffet
tables.
Upon
arrival
at
our
table
we
were
given
a
sheet
on
which
to
fill
out
the
names
and
contact
info
of
all
party
members
for
contact-tracing
purposes.
Napkins
were
plentiful,
used
dishes
and
gloves
removed
pretty
quickly.
The
buffet
was
missing
my
fave
(torpedo
shrimp)
this
time
but
was
otherwise
well-stocked
and
tasted
better
than
pre-covid
times,
likely
due
to
the
fact
that
they
can
better
estimate
food
quantities
and
need.
All
buffet
tables
had
clear
directional
signage
and
extended
sneeze
guards.
The
website
said
serving
spoons
would
be
replaced
more
frequently
and,
while
I
did
not
witness
that
directly,
there
was
definitely
always
a
restaurant
employee
nearby
keeping
an
eye
on
a
each
buffet
table
and
directing
diners.
The
birthday
celebrant's
Birthday
Voucher
for
a
free
dinner
with
at
least
three
other
dinners
purchased
was
honoured
via
phone
(instead
of
paper
printout)
with
ID.
They
brought
out
a
personal-size
strawberry
shortcake
mound
with
sprinkles
and
a
candle
after
the
meal.
Our
server
clapped
along
as
we
sang
but
there
was
no
big
crowd
of
employees
which
was
fine
with
us.
Also,
no
hat
and
funny
picture
this
time
but,
instead,
a
complementary
photo
of
the
whole
table
in
a
magnetic
frame.
When
it
was
clear
we
were
done
eating,
the
hot
towels
were
given
out
with
fortune
cookies.
Then
the
bills
were
distributed
and
paid
tableside
before
a
spritz
of
hand
sanitizer
was
offered.
I
cannot
speak
on
the
state
of
the
barhrooms
because
I
didnt
use
them
but,
otherwise,
we
were
quite
content
with
our
first
post(almost?)-covid
dining
experience.
