Really disappointed. I was here once, before the pandemic, and it was awesome. Today, not. The room and scenario seemed well put together, but there were issues. Spending 10 minutes on a single clue only to find out it's giving the wrong answer is a bit maddening. Maybe something had become misaligned? Maybe check the rooms periodically to make sure things still work? Maybe there were points of alignment I didn't check, but it seemed way off...In any event, that's why hints are available I guess. I could move beyond it. Getting to the end of the time, and being really close isn't unfamiliar to me. That said, I've played these games all over town, and in 4 different provinces, and this was the first time the staff couldn't demonstrate the solution. That's just bad form. I can only assume it was solvable (I was told as much...), but when the host says "you got really close, you're at the last step", but can really only point to the unresolved locks, and has no idea how they are opened, that's unacceptable. I have a hint for you, rather than blowing off the obviously displeased customer, the correct answer is, "I can't remember, I'll be right back with the solution." Just because you already have my money, and there are other customers there doesn't mean your off the hook for decent service. Do better....

Went in a group of 3 for the Castle and we all had a great time! We were given a bit of extra time despite running out to finish the last puzzle. Super friendly staff, great decor for the room and interesting but not too easy to solve puzzles! Definitely planning on going again!

Went as a group of 4 and had an amazing time! They have a deal with a bunch of local, really good restaurants to get a 15% discount on your meal with an escape room booking and we made good use of it. The room itself was very fun and the puzzles are very interactive. The story was well presented and very engaging. They also give a healthy time to solve the rooms, so while there is the expected time pressure, you don't feel rushed like with other escape room companies. 100% recommended!

This was the one and only escape room I have ever gone to. They didn’t reset the clues, and hadn't appropriately labelled others, making it more difficult to solve. That was bad enough but they added my group to another group who didn't speak English as their first language. Totally ruined the experience for me forever. They removed my negative review, so I am replacing it. Bad business. Bad experience. Don't waste your time or money.

I really enjoyed this place . We did the diamond heist and we were 6 people (all adults) . We finished and had 25minutes to spare so definitely a good one for starters. I found it very fun and not too hard that you get overwhelmed to the point that is not fun . Very well done . I just wished the staff had more excitement, I have been to other escape rooms and they take their role very serious, this one I felt like the guy didn’t want to be there in the first place. When we escape he came and was like yea good job you can leave , we were very happy to finished with 25minutes left but he definitely killed our celebration mood. No celebration like in other places . Just beside that I loved everything from this escape room . I’ll be definitely go back and try others .

Excellent place for escape rooms. I did personally find it to be a bit lock heavy, which isn't bad. Just might not be what you want. I do think they need to replace a bunch of locks if they plan to keep the specific room around for longer. If you are an advanced "escape artist" you might not be as interested in the room here as they can be challenging but not targeted to you. My team of 4 for a room of up to 6 people at the hardest difficulty and low ish completion rate, finished the room with 20 ish minutes left over and no hints. We have done our share of rooms, but not in a while. If however, you are looking for a good pace, fun time. You will likely enjoy your time here. There is a parking garage and coffee shop nearby which is nice.

Great location and great atmosphere. We felt very safe here as they had good COVID protocols in place. We had a group of 8 people and solved our Diamond heist escape and got out with the loot! Great setting, good clues too ! We had a great time here!

Wonderful experience! We wanted to find somewhere close to the market so we could easily pair an escape room with dinner, so we took a chance on Jigsaw. Great team, and very cool room! We completed the Pirate's Code, which was very well set up and definitely the most interesting and interactive room any of us had ever encountered! Would definitely recommend, as we're all excited to visit again!!

This escape room is fantastic. Our group did the diamond heist room and had a great time. The puzzles were logical, but challenging. The room had a clear story and meshed well with the gameplay and it had surprises, but nothing felt forced. Everything was well designed and worked well. The staff were polite and helpful. It was more or less everything one would want out of an escape room experience. Thanks so much, Jigsaw!

We had a group of 12 attend and try out the Byward Butcher room. It was tons of fun and very tricky. We got to the second last clue so didn't escape but it was well worth the team building time and fun.

Their new location is great! We had already done all the rooms at their old location. It was nice to have more space to relax in while waiting for our room to be ready. We did The Castle with a group of 5 and escaped. I've done over 20 escape rooms and this one was well done. The puzzles were interesting and I would say the difficulty level was intermediate. I look forward to trying more of their new rooms in the near future.

My friends and I had an amazing time at Jigsaw Escape Rooms! We’ve been to quite a few different Escape Rooms now and have collectively agreed this one was our favourite experience so far. Our host was super nice and friendly and answered us immediately when we buzzed for a hint. We did the Cabin In The Woods room and it was really immersive and fun! We had to get one hint but we escaped with nearly 10min left with just 4 of us so we were pretty proud of ourselves, as this is apparently one of their more challenging rooms. Without spoiling anything, there’s also a little celebration that happens when you solve the latest clue that I thought was a great touch! My friends and I all agreed we will be back to Jigsaw next time!

We we were a party of 9 being split into two rooms, and let me tell you that from the go we knew it was going to be great. I had the experience of the Castle which was exceptionally detailed and well done. The pop culture references just hit the spot and made it such a great experience. We did the diamond heist escape room, everything was great but it was a bit to complicated especially the last part. They sure do love their 4 digit locks, and I feel they were used way to much. Other than that the room was amazing, and the theme was very good. Just my kid and his friend went, and they didn't make it out in 1 hour but the staff gave them some extra time.

Well designed rooms, very enjoyable, have gone with groups of 4-7 people and everyone has had a great time.

Great puzzle, challenging but not impossible. Great space and ambiance. Would definitely go again to try the other rooms.

What an amazing experience!! Highly recommend - I’ve done 2 different rooms and I’m excited to try the others. These escape rooms are so well crafted, and unique in comparison to others I have tried in the city and/or abroad. Definitely a must try!! For those that have concerns due to COVID (as I did - especially as I brought my kids along for the adventure), they have very strict cleaning protocols that included a thorough top to bottom sanitization of each and every game room after every session. They also ensure all participants are double vaxxed and have thoroughly used hand sanitized prior to entering the game room, which makes this a fun and safe outing to do even during the pandemic. Thanks for offering such an entertaining experience by providing this hidden gem in the Byward Market that feels like a mini-escape from the current reality. I will most definitely be back :)

First time trying an escape room for me and I had so much fun. We were a group of 5 and tried “the diamond heist” and it was quite satisfying to complete (we finished with 15 minutes to spare). I can speak for all of us by saying we are excited to come back and try the harder ones.

We went with our two teenagers and although we didn’t escape we all loved the experience. It was great working as a team and finding clues and solving little puzzles within the game. Check in was quick and easy and the lobby and the room we were in were very well designed. We will go back again for sure!

Very fun escape room. We came all the was from Toronto to do this escape room. Tried many escape rooms back home, and this one is one of my favourite I've done. The decor was on point and really added to the mood of the room. Puzzles were diverse and creative. Staff was quick to respond on the intercom. My favourite part of my visit to Ottawa.

Had an absolutely amazing time. We did pirates code, didn’t get through it, as it was just my fiancé and myself but everything was so well done. Can’t wait to go back and try some more rooms.

We played the cabin in the woods! It was the lamest and the most unreasonable game ever! Never waste your time! The funny part was that they put the clues in a wrong drawer, lol!

I have done most of the escape rooms at this location, and I have enjoyed all of them. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and I would absolutely go back here if the opportunity arises. The rooms are a ton of fun and each experience is different, which makes it never-ending fun. The ambiance is fantastic, and I would absolutely go back. The only problem is that there is a big flight of stairs to get inside, and that can make it difficult for me to access it.

We did Cabin in the Woods and it was a lot of fun! It was only 2 of us playing in the room and we got out using 2 hints and with almost 8 minutes left on the clock. My only suggestion would be to have stronger powered flashlights, as we had to use our phone flashlights to help see better. Also providing more than 1 flashlight would be helpful — but those are all very minor suggestions to help improve the experience — overall it was really fun and we would love to come again! I went here for a work event with a group of 9 and it was absolutely delightful! We did The Castle escape room and it was full of so many twists and turns. I would definitely go back and try one of the other rooms :) Also don’t forget to grab a bite before or after with the discount they have with a handful of nearby restaurants.

It was a great escape room, we succeeded and had a lot of fun! I did felt like the more people are in the room, the fees should be a little less or at least if we do succeed we should won something like a free game or a % discount like in other escape rooms. Overall a good time and, great decor and clever games!

The 4 of us had such a great time doing the Pirate’s Code room and escaped with 9 minutes to spare. I love that the puzzles were difficult but not so much that it makes you pull your hair out. Highly recommended

My family and I have recently been going to this escape room in particular for the last year for many celebrations. We’ve so far tried CSI: The Study, The Castle, Cabin in the Woods and I had enjoyed Byward Butcher with a group of friends! All lots of fun and I highly recommend. I wish they’d maybe tune up some of the rooms in terms of previous damages or wear and tear. Especially “The Castle” we noticed some worn off paint and symbols that we didn’t catch at first glance or was hard to read as things seemed to have faded over use and time. Possibly costing us time to escape but nothing we didn’t end up solving in the end anyway.

FUN FUN FUN. We had a group of six, and it was a blast. We finished with about 15min remaining. Would return on the next visit to Ottawa.

Went here with co-workers. It's a bit dark so your eyes need to adjust a little. The girl at the front desk was very polite and gave all the instructions. The game was an hour long and very well done. Some clues were easy while others made you think. Definitely a place I would go to again.

We took a group of 8 people to do The Castle and we all loved it. This room is perfect for families (our group age range was 9yrs - 45yrs) and we all had a great time. We made it out with 2 mins to spare. Highly recommended.

Three of us tackled their "Diamond Heist" room. It was a lot of fun and full value for an escape room experience. No spoilers here, it did take us a couple of hints and a little extra time to figure it out, but we did eventually achieve success. Cool steampunk vibe in the waiting area and reasonably priced snacks and drinks. Helpful and friendly staff.

Honestly, this place was legit. Lobby was great, staff were super friendly and accommodating. Underground escape rooms were super cool and tone setting. My friends and I did The Castle, and we loved it. Great first experience. I will definitely be back.

Lots of fun! Went with a large group (12) and they had large enough rooms to accommodate everyone. Only issue we had was once escaping we weren't certain if we had correctly escaped as the person in the room was not around.. so we were quite confused (but nonetheless excited for having suceeded). Great way to celebrate a 30th birthday!

Such a great time! I recently organized an escape room outing at Jigsaw as part of a bachelorette party and could not have been more pleased. Matt was super accommodating as I needed to change the number of people in our group a few times before our booked date. Then, due to a motor vehicle protest downtown and subsequent traffic issues, several members of our group arrived about 30 minutes late for our booked escape room. The hostess was incredibly sweet and understanding, and proceeded to walk us through the escape room instructions without any hassle. Our group of friends had a fantastic time solving our escape room and would love to return to do another one soon!

Phenomenal experience, staff was super friendly, we picked a hard room for our first time and it was a blast, I will definitely be going again. I would definitely recommend jigsaw escape rooms.

Very good escape room! Nothing extraordinary, the Castle (the one I did) was on the easier side. Took us 35 minutes to complete. Had a ton of fun nonetheless

Aug 2021. First time visitor to Jigsaw Escape Rooms (Ottawa). Clean and bright entry. Easy check in process at the site. Phone assistance when booking room was professional and friendly. Didn't escape but had fun!

The Escape room we went to was a wonderful surprise. The 4 of us had an hour to solve a great puzzle and we were amazed at the twists and turns of the mystery. We highly recommend it.

We had the best time at this Escape room. We were 2 adults and 4 kids. We didn’t escape but we did solve a lot of puzzles. Our youngest is 8 and he was even able to contribute.

It was so fun. Excellent family ir friends activities. We succeeded with 16 minutes left in a room of 30% success rate. I think I was more excited then the kids. Lol Can't wait to do another room

Came here with a group of friends and did the castle one. Puzzles were fun and interesting and we definitely had to work for it. Over all, I felt like the complexity of the puzzles were fun but it lacked a little bit of story telling that I would have appreciated given the context of the room. Think they could definitely take it to the next level with a little bit more story telling or role play. Host was very friendly and overall, was a great experience to try.

The service was extra wonderful. They take the time to explain everything and help you. We enjoy our escape room. Will definitely come back.

Really fun experience with friendly staff. It would be nice to know the recommended amount of players for each room, as we were only a small group of 2. We didn’t escape unfortunately because the room we booked. Turns out It was recommended for more than 2 people. Would have been nice to know beforehand, but it was still a great and fun experience. Would like to return.

First time at an escape room, good staff with a nice facility. Found a the puzzles to be pretty interesting and the use of magnets to place stuff correctly was really cool, sensitive enough that if it isn’t sitting quite right it wont work so pay attention. Everything was well maintained except for a couple of the locks were a little worn so it was tricky to see the letters.

Great experience! My first time doing an escape room (Diamond Heist) and it was so fun! Perfect difficulty for a beginner, can’t wait to see what the other rooms are like. The employee working there was also super kind and helpful and made the experience that much better. 10/10 would recommend!!

Did the diamond heist. Great atmosphere when arriving, clean, nice knowledgeable employees, good prices on drinks in waiting area. Escaped the room, even though they didn't set up one of the clues properly and the lighting made it hard to see some of the clues. Had lots of fun with my kids they enjoyed the experience as well. Lots of locks in this room.

Diamond Heist was the best room. We tried three in total. The other two being castle and the cabin rooms which we ran into some problems, both being some puzzles not functioning correctly which confused us into wasting a lot of time thinking we needed to try something else when we originally indeed had the answer correct just the mechanics of the room weren't functioning properly or were difficult to manipulate correctly.

A great experience! We were 9 people - 6 experienced 'escapers' and 3 newbies. The Castle kept us all busy and we solved it with 5 minutes to spare. Registration and reception were efficient and the briefing was complete. We found a few clues a little misleading but overall the experienced people rated this higher than other escape rooms in Ottawa

We were just two people, it was so much fun! We did pretty well but needed a couple of hints. We almost got out but the attendant offered a bit of extra time which was so nice and we did it. We will definitely do it again.

This was my first time trying an escape room and I have to say that it was AWESOME!! I went just with my boyfriend and although we didn't finish the Pirate's Code escape room, it was a lot of fun. We will for sure coming back :)

Good puzzles and good production value (not the absolute best but still fairly immersive), usually has two rooms per escape room experience. The staff is also friendly, knowledgeable and the facilities are clean. A great place to start off if you are new to escape rooms. They difficulty settings are good for beginners, and they offer more difficult rooms as well. I've been several times, and would highly recommend you and your friends go here
