Wide open spaces and fantastic great lawns are the main attraction of Rockcliffe Park. If you're like most visitors to this park, you will get here with your car. There's ample parking. There are memorable picnic areas under big pine trees, a gazebo, a sundial and views on the Ottawa river and Quebec. Take a load off and relax.

Beautiful small place. There is only one meadow but very cozy. It was our first time there but totally worth that. There is parking lot for 15-20 cars, and washroom available.

Having seen historic ruins and fountains in Europe and Greece before I found the Rockeries to be disappointing and not that interesting. I think only worth a 5 minute look and to take some silly photos. And yes I did take a few of those while I was there lol Yet the Rockcliffe park is awesome with its great space to walk your dog, look at flowers and enjoy the open fields. I suggest that if you are in this area you walk to the nearby RCMP horse stables and go to the Aviation museum. Also bring a picnic lunch and blanket so that you can have fun bonding with nature. If you like my reviews, photos or videos give them a thumbs up. And don't ruin your day with negative thoughts lol

Great place to watch the sunset in Ottawa, to take your dog out for a walk and a picnic. The park is closed throughout the winter months to vehicles/ the parking lot. The park has wonderful views overlooking the river and Gatineau with the hills in the background, truly a site to visit in the fall

This is a quiet place to walk & enjoy gardens(even on a fall day). Lovely to see the architectural elements from the Carnegie Library as design elements.

Beautiful park, perfect to have a picnic with family and friends. You can also see the Ottawa river from here. It has public restrooms that are well maintained.

Nice green space for a picnic. A few large picnic tables are located near the shade. There is a few trails in front of this park that leads to the Ottawa River and the rockeries.

A bit difficult to stop with the car when there are more than 4 cars parked, but traffic is not so bad, so we managed to get a nice view of the sunset. Wesr warm clothes in october, the wind got to our bones!

Beautiful spot to view the Ottawa River and Gatineau hills! Has two parking lots. One just before the Pavillion and one at the look out, it is a one way so if you pass either parking lot to will need to go back out to the parkway to re-enter the park. Around the Pavillion has benches and tables for picnic and a wide open field perfect for running around and games.

There is a very beautiful pavilion. The pavilion is large and can block the wind and rain. You can see the scenery inside, but there is no seat in the pavilion. There is a toilet nearby, which is a good place to watch the sunset. Villa.

A very lovely place in summer, good views off the river and even with traffic close by it very quiet place. Good for outdoor meetings but for smallish groups due to parking.

It's beautiful halfway Park is a little piece of heaven. The flowers bloom so gorgeously throughout the spring and summer. A wonderful place to go and have a picnic. The ruins had such a classic touch as well.

I was working at the residence of the American Ambassador for their 4th of July party. It was OK. Many people did not come due to the controversial tariff situation between our two countries.

Grab something to eat, and head to this place for mediation. Sit by the rocks, ground yourself by dipping your feet into water, chill, relax, meditate, and eat. It's the best experience you'd ever have. - Lots of parking space available. - Free - Great way to connect with nature.

The view over the Ottawa River toward Gatineau is beautiful. There are picnic tables to sit at. The washrooms were clean. Unfortunately, the large gazebo featured in the picture is closed off with fencing for repairs.

This entire park is simply astounding. Even decades later, I still enjoy coming back and going for a walk through. A must to enjoy the beauty of Ottawa, the capital of our great nation that is Canada.

  • 3/5 Sabbir H. 8 months ago on Google
It is a nice park with several drawbacks. The lookout is only accessible by car but there is parking for only 2 cars there! On the parkway, the speed limit is 20km/h whereas theres very loud bikes racing 100+ kmph which is extremely annoying and risky.

I was there many times to show visitors the spectacular view of the Ottawa River and the other side of the river, Gatineau, QC, Canada. Especially on the first weekend of September when there is FMG (Festival Montgolfier de Gatineau) to see hot air balloons.

Good off leash dog park. The dogs are generally well behaved and socialized. Have had a couple of bad experiences though with dogs behaving aggressively with my guys. There are lots of burrs amongst the brush so if your dogs head into that or treed areas they may come out covered in them. Would avoid this park in the spring as lots of large wet and muddy areas. Not enough garbage cans. Should have more throughout the park.

I beautiful natural park... I'm docking a point for their being no decent playstructure. A beautiful park like this deserves an actual playground.

This place is breathtaking, very family friendly and spacious with lovely places to walk all around. A bit more of a hidden gem of sorts, and that's likely for the best 🙂 Bring a picnic, a frisbee, have a beautiful view with an epic sunset 🌇

Nice lookout point overlooking the Ottawa river. Offers a nice view of Gatineau city. The lookout point is quite big with proper roof to block rain and snow. There are washrooms nearby. Does not have a big g parking lot though.

My family and I love coming here with our dog! It's a great walk and especially good for covid times seeing as there is a large road, but make sure to watch out for cars! The view is one of the nicest over seen in the Ottawa area, looking out over the the river. Would recommend to everyone, 10/10

  • 4/5 Mathieu L. 4 years ago on Google
It was a little windy today, but it was a nice little walk around and there's a small overview looking out onto the river with a nice view of the bridge crossing the river. If you play Pokemon, as I do, there are several stops there too...

Rockcliffe Park is only a few minutes away from downtown Ottawa but a quiet and relaxing spot with wonderful views of the nearby Ottawa River. It's a perfect place for a sunbath or a picnic or just a wonderful spot to admire local landscapes and wildlife. The nearby pavilion has splendid architecture as well. There are also public restrooms here. There is also a small monument in form of a cube on the north side of the park.
