This a great off leash Dog Park located in the downtown core of Ottawa. It's not too big so it's easy to keep an eye on your pet. Most people that go are very friendly and true animal lovers. I have never seen any problems (pets or people). My dog goes crazy in the car as soon as he sees the park. You should check it out.

If you have a small dog breed unable to defend itself, or a puppy, I do not recommend this park. While there are many responsible dog owners who use this park and many larger dogs there who love and play well with small dogs, unfortunately not all of them are and it is not worth the risk of trauma to your dog. There are a few regulars who do not stop their dogs or leave once their dog becomes aggressive, and/or still enter the park even though their dog has gone after dogs that are already in the park and immediately targets them again once they are inside. We moved nearby partially for this dog park but my partner and I have experienced this multiple times and know of at least four other people this has happened to, so we avoid it now unless we are the only ones in the park, and we leave once other dogs show up.

The park part is not that great, however it is a dog friendly park as it has some fox facilities.

Although small, this park has a lot to offer. From a fenced-in dog park to a tennis court to a picnic table. This well utilized green space serves the community very well.

Not much of a dog park but was ok for a quick. I was in Ottawa to pick up my daughter and head home to Toronto so it gave Hazel the time to play and meet some dogs in the Capital. Justin was not here! Do they have a dog?

Good space for doggies to play, fenced in, safe. A bit muddy. Lots of shade, sun and places to relax while your dogs mingle about

Come on, Ottawa! Time to give this park a little love, it's looking a little dated and in need of a refresh (adult playground anyone?) The dog park is enclosed and includes a fountain for the fur babies, the regulars are friendly; I have no qualms bringing my dog here.

Great public dog park in the winter, the summer they use a dog safe mulch instead of grass that isn't great.

Dogs who are sensitive about what they walk on may not like this park as it is a pea-sized gravel substrate. It's not very large, but has good double-soor entrances so dogs don't escape coming and going, and a drinking fountain with a doggy height bowl attachment for thirsty pups.

Great dog park. Secure double fence system at the entrances. Lots of tennis balls. Water bowls are provided, but the water is off because of construction currently so bring your own. Lots of benches, picnic tables, etc. This park is very dusty, your dog will probably need a rinse after coming but it's worth it.

We love bringing our dog to play and run in this fenced park. Water fountain available, some shade and places to sit while you watch the puppies frolic. This park is also near restaurants that will accommodate pets on the patio.

Wonderful locals with well behaved dogs frequent this fully-enclosed park. There is a dog-friendly water fountain on site and picnic tables for humans to sit.

Great place for a sit down in the sun. You can dog watch if that's your thing since there is a dog park

Nice dog park here. It is well secured, water fountain to fill bowls of water in the summer, picnic tables and benches to sit on and a couple trees.

An outstanding dog park. I've tried several around the city and this is easily the best. Friendly owners, clean park, and double fenced gates. There's good water supply in the warmer months. The rest of the park looked nice too. The nearby community center seems to take good care of it.

Fully enclosed dog park with a dog water fountain, proper disposal units, and an endless supply of balls. But be careful, seems to attract a disproportionate number of poorly behaved dogs.

Great place to take your dog to excersice and burn off some energy! Usually there are a range of dog sizes so all dogs have someone to run around with. There is a larger percwntage of medium to large size breeds however. The people there are great, very nice and polite. The dogs are almost all well behaved and play well with other dogs. Great place to stop after work. Social distancing can easily be attained if you'd like. Feels like a nice safe environment for both you and your dog(s).

This park is improving. Taking a long time to finish the upgrades but definitely will uplift the area once done.

Place was okay spent the afternoon there waiting for fireworks. But when fireworks were underway people stood in front of us to watch fireworks after picking a spot to sit down and watch we ended up having to stand. People of auto are obviously self-centered

This is a nice clean dog park close to Elgin St. There is a water fountain for the dogs which is good considering all the running they will do. There is a double gate system with the gates opening inward to reduce the risk of a dog running out of the park. Lots of fun to bring a dog there.

The badminton racquets that the city renamed "urban trees" because the architect thought the park was named after the wrong Jack Purcell are pretty awesome (the badminton player, not the humanitarian)

  • 4/5 Shady B. 4 years ago on Google
Good city park. I was playing volleyball and the grass was good for that. A few divits in the grass, so be careful! And watch for dog poop as it's also a leashed in place to bring dogs. There is also a play area and an actual dog park with gravel. There's a three tier water fountain and a few pic nic tables.

Great place, one of the better dog parks in center town. Best part are the water fountains, and double gates. However construction has the water off at the moment.
