Over priced. Waited for fresh towels that never came. Vehicles were vandalized in the parking lot. Bathroom shower was dirty. No security of any sort. Takes deposit ON TOP OF payment off CC. Very poor service all around highly don’t recommend. I’m sorry I stayed here.

We showed up to the Days In and were told that our hotel room was cancelled MONTHS in advanced. Not a single email was sent and nobody called to let us know of the cancellation. We then had to stay outside of town as all the other hotels were booked in the city. Gregory, the manager who was talking to us was very rude and was not helpful in finding another hotel to stay at in the city. We walked all the way to the Holiday Inn and they were very helpful, letting us use their WiFi and giving us a map to locate other hotels to stay at. Thankyou to the Hilton Garden Inn Airport for the accommodation of situation

This place looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks, the halls and rooms smelled of cigarette, weed and some weird menthol smell, reminded me of my days of partying as a teenager. We cancelled after one night cause everything was dirty, there was hair on the beds and on the toilet, behind the bed was absolutley disgusting, it was obvious cleaning was not being done. The staff was atleast friendly. They desperately need a some new management to get back to where they used to be.

We had 2 rooms, both were great. It’s a value hotel, it isn’t 5 star but it’s clean, good amenities and very friendly accommodating front desk and perfect location to all the sights. Cheap parking too, just $10 in and out. The rooms are a bit dated but didn’t care so much because we only came to the room to sleep. Conveniently there is a Loblaws and Shopper Drug Mart across from the hotel. Comments about crack heads… it’s downtown Ottawa, every metropolis has its fair share.

    - Bad spot: lots of homeless people (which downtown doesn’t have them now??) and the smell of pot is everywhere - Coffee machine and TV didn’t work - Had to evacuate the hotel at 1am due to fire alarm. Unable to reach the front desk, no message on what to do anywhere, it’s everyone for them selfs. FD took like forever to arrive (at least 10 minutes). Room was clean but had trouble lowering the heat even if I put the dial to fan/cool and it was -8C outside. Many of the power jacks were not working (see pictures). Not recommended at all.

Good Staff service, No breakfast offered, no microwave in the room, paid parking, bad location since lot of homeless people in the neighborhood. Not suitable for family location wise. Very convenient to visit the parliament hill. Check in and out was smooth. Guys at the front desk are helpful.

Family recieved an email the night before they were supposed to fly out that their reservation was cancelled due to the hotel being overbooked. This was despite the reservation having been made and confirmed directly through the hotel's website 2 months ago. Nearest hotel room they were able to offer to rebook them into was halfway across the city near Kanata. Had to scramble at the last minute to find another available hotel in the area the night before their morning flight.

Understaffed and the manager is awful. You have to pay extra for parking, despite plenty of spots. Carpets stained and not clean. Left a valuable item behind and called day of, and a few times in the following days, no call backs, zero accountability. Well located downtown, but high density of unhoused people. Not worth it, highly overpriced. Go somewhere else, it'd be worth spending a bit more to avoid! The clerk gives attitude, unapologetic, and is the embodiment of Colin Robinson from What We Do in the Shadows. Energy vampire!

If you're looking for one of those hotels to die in this would be top of my list, hallways are dark and depressing with some weird carpet. It's handi-capableish, doors, and some stairs on the floors, so make sure that's not a thing you need to avoid. I think they used this place in a horror movie or 2. Man I hate coming to this city. Also they make you pay for parking too, because of course they do, trying to get all the money they can before you die here.

The room, the location and the building itself all warrant a 1 star or less rating. The front desk staff were polite and helpful but there didn't appear to be any other staff (no cleaning was noted during my entire week staying here). The room was disgusting - toothpaste smeared on the back of the door, peanuts and other debris visible on the carpet, hair in the sink, stains of unknown origin on the sofa and counters. I ended up leaving the tank cover off the toilet because it ran on after every use. Some of our rooms went without toilet paper. We were provided Keurig coffee pods but no cups. Breakfasts were supposed to be included but nothing was available (not that I would have risked eating anything, given the condition of the rest of the hotel)! I was missing light bulbs in multiple fixtures, and power outlets were broken or simply didn't function. The streets outside were thick with drug users doubled-over in the peak of their high; it didn't even feel safe running to the shoppers across the street after dark. We were woken up after midnight two nights in a row with fire alarm / evacuations of unknown cause. The rest of our sleeping hours were interrupted by loud traffic noises. The only thing I can say is that the bed sheets and towels, although stained, appeared clean and the tv and ac functioned well. The entire place had a room-rented-by-the-hour feel to it!

The gentleman at the front desk was nice enough to accommodate us when the room we had booked was not what it was described as online. The hotel has a very dirty feel and could use a very thorough steam cleaning of all the carpets and elevator. The hotel is also located in a very "rough" neighborhood which made us feel unsafe to walk around to the areas we wished to visit

Very big room, very clean, good energy, good ventilation. When you go out of the hotel, unfortunately, there are many beggars and drug addicts who seem unbothered at all. You need to zigzag around them. This can be an unpleasant experience and is sometimes dangerous. Where is the police? Do they have a second job, explaining why we don't see them?

We made a reservation a few days prior and we had selected this hotel specifically because we were travelling with a pet and they had publicized that they had pet friendly rooms. Upon arrival they told us they didn't have a room for us despite us having recieved a confirmation from them, and then they made us wait a long time while trying to figure out an alternative (the man at the front desk was going to various rooms to check if they were available because they claimed they were having some sort of housekeeping issue). They eventually gave us an alternative room which they told us was not a pet friendly room so we would have to make sure our dog only stays in one corner. We went to the room and were shocked to find out that they had sent us to a room that clearly was booked by another family, and from the looks of the room when we opened it, it appeared that they had been there for a while so we were truly confused as to what the man at the front desk checked for over an hour while we waited at the lobby. We went down demanded a refund and left and were stuck finding a last minute hotel to stay at. The front desk staff was indifferent the whole time and didn't even seem to care about the inconvenience they had just put us through, if I could give 0 for their service I would. It's been 4 days since they promised me a 24hr refund and I have still received nothing.

Our room had many small bugs, similar to a gnat or large fruit fly. There was enough that we asked to switch rooms, but the next one was just as bad. Staff member was prompt and willing to accommodate the request, but didn’t seem overly concerned or surprised by the complaint; as if it was a silly issue to complain about. Additionally, AC unit was very dirty, some small stains on sheets, and a few marks on floors/walls. Proximity to downtown is great and overall not the worst stay, but for what we paid I would’ve expected better. The bug situation could just be a one-off, im not sure, and like I said it wasn’t the worst stay for a night. But my main criticism would still be the price point. Theres no fancy amenities or perks other than walkability, and parking is paid too. There are simply much nicer options available for the same price!

My room was given to someone else and I was told we are overbooked. I booked a King suite with King bed and a sofa bed but was given a smaller room with only 1 king bed. Had to sleep on blankets laid on the floor as the smaller room had lesser beds.

One of the worst Days Inn I have been to! It didn't look like a bad choice at first but it turned out to be one of the worst accommodation I've encountered in Canada! Even though it is not far from Parliament Hill, the Rideau neighborhood ranks among the worst ones in Ottawa with regards to crime, and the signs of it were visible on every corner. There were questionable individuals hanging around, many homeless people, people under the influence of drugs, and even solicitation during the daylight! It didn't feel safe at all, and I would strongly advise staying away from this area if possible. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. Overnight parking costs 10 CAD, but the machine only took cash, card payments were only possible at the reception of the hotel. The room, though it initially appeared clean, turned out to be smelly, dark, and dirty. The bathroom was tiny, and the shower required a special maneuver to open, which I had to seek help from the reception to figure out. The bathtub was old and leaking underneath. The worst part was the carpet, which was absolutely filthy and left my feet black after walking on it for just a short time. The AC unit was also full of dust and debris, making me feel nauseous! The bedding was okay, probably the cleanest part of the room, so sleeping there was not so bad. Despite being close to Ottawa's tourist center, I would never stay here again. The condition of the room was appalling, and the management needs to wake up and address these issues. This place was a complete disappointment, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Visited in July 2023. Paid by card.

The location in nice due to its proximity to the main touristic attractions. No need to drive, everything is a few steps away. But there is lots of junkies near the entrance of the hotel. The rooms are a bit stinky because of the carpet.

Don't forget to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking any resort. This website will compare thousands of booking websites and typically will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the most well known in the area. I've been staying here for years. If you decide to stay here you won't be disappointed. Our stay in Days Inn was wonderful. Great location, comfy and clean rooms, and the personnel was excellent. They help you with anything you need . I'll stay here again for sure.

It’s all about location and value here. Best value in city. Rooms are nice. Service is great. I stay here every time in the city.

Good value for your money. We had 2 rooms: 1 was on the first floor as requested since we had dogs. The first-floor room was convenient and accessible from the parking lot. The room was smaller but the convenience to take dogs out was worth it. The second room was on the second floor and it was spacious. The downtown area was great: close to grocery stores and convenience stores, plus lots of food options. Overall happy with the 2 nights I stayed here.

The location is apt for walking around the parliament and for major sight seeing. The hotel has access to major transportation facilities. The hotel rooms are small, and they have a tv with blur connection. Otherwise it's good.

The hotel is in a very good location. All amenities are just a couple of blocks away. Plenty of parking and good accommodations. Rooms were clean and spacious. Good safety protocols. Personnel were corteous and professional. Prices are fair. If you can get a cheaper reservation online do it. They accept lowering prices some in case you don't. Only issue is elevator is always busy and slow.

The woman at check-in on Saturday, Sept 11, 2021 around 2:30 pm was absolutely disinterested. The room was much smaller than expected and the TV did not work. She sent the cleaning crew by to fix it and we had to vacate the room while they did so. When they "fixed it", it was so staticky that it was barely worth watching. There was only one coffee pods available in the room that was intended for double-occupancy. There was also a cigarette burn on the upholstered chair in the room. I'm only giving it two stars, instead of one, because the bed was comfortable and the morning front desk staff on Sunday was much more hospitable.

One of the most challenging places I have ever stayed at. To start with I stood in on the street that was hostile waiting for the front desk person to let me in. And it went downhill from there. To be fair to the lovely woman who attended to me, she was the highlight. The only highlight. To get to the room I had to pass through three difficult doors. There was no baggage cart so I needed to take nine trips back and forth and with each trip I grew increasingly worried about my car. Would it be vandalized in the time between return visits. Next, the room stinks. It's as though there was a flood or water leak and the smell lingers. Next, I went to plug in my computer to the power bar on the desk. No Power. I sat on the chair and it sank to the bottom. There is no replacement chair. As I type, my knees are up to my chin. There's more but I choose to forget it and will only be thankful that I have a delightful story to tell about my very challenging visit. I'm back in Ottawa in two weeks and I'll be staying at another hotel.

Why was my stay Three Stars? Well let’s start off with the location. Absolutely disgusting. Too many junkies roaming around, saw a someone “OD” off something in the parking lot. In terms of actual location, with the hotel being located off of Rideau St and King Edward, it makes this very central to most things in the city like, Rideau Centre, Parliament, and the Byward market. In terms of the hotel, the room was spacious, the bed was clean, and the shower had good water pressure. Unfortunately the TV remote did not have a back to it and/or Batteries in the remote. Next we have the Staff. Fortunately I’m pretty sure these guys would run through a 34 inch brick wall if you asked them to. These guys are willing to help you with anything you need. We checked in 55 minutes early and were given a complimentary upgrade thanks to Randy. Randy made this stay at the Days Inn 3/5

Good: relatively clean, staff are friendly, convenient location Bad: Only solution to the toilet not working in our room was to move us to another room. The next room only had half of the electrical working (lamps and sockets didn’t work) and the bathroom door was broken. Ugly: do not stay here if you have children. Sketchy area. I was walking down the street with my son and there were discarded needles on the ground. And that was the highlight of the neighbourhood

  • 4/5 A 2 years ago on Google
Pros Very helpful and friendly front desk people Good location in downtown Clean room with proper air conditioning Comfortable bed and sleep Cons There was not enough tea, coffee, towels in the room for the number of guests (however they fixed it upon request) No slippers or robes provided There was not even a bottle of water in the fridge, let alone minibar. They ask however for 200$ deposit! Carpets are old and stained.

The room is just fine, nothing special but it’s a little bit dark and the surroundings of the hotel are full of homeless and drug users…it’s close to circle K, Tim Hortons and Shoppers…also there’s a bus stop close with several options of lines. I enjoyed staying at this place because the cost benefit is fine and I spent most part of my stay outside visiting the city.

  • 1/5 Dylan B. 2 years ago on Google
This place is hell on earth. I’m not sure what’s more disgusting. The hotel itself or the thieving, scamming and just outright rude staff. My heater and TV were both broken and as you can see by other reviews that’s a common problem at this hotel. These disgusting people had the audacity to blame the TV being broke on me and kept my $300 deposit. I’ll be getting my money back in one form or another

Nice hotel in good location in downtown. Good stuff I had light smell in the room like a light pesticide but was not strong. I opened the window while I'm outside and it was ok.

  • 4/5 Naravit L. 2 years ago on Google
It is a convenient place to stay as it is very close to downtown. You can walk around easily. The Rideau Centre is just a few blocks away. The room is good for the price. It is clean. The room I got has the broken chain at the door. But it is ok. The door still can be locked. The parking onsite was $10 plus tax per night with your stay. Checking out is at 11AM. The deposit was $200 on the card.

  • 4/5 Steel City M. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms were standard hotel rooms. Nothing special, but clean. Hotel hallways seem to have been renovated relatively recently. The neighborhood can be a bit rough, but is extremely conveniently located. Great value for your money.

We stayed in this restaurant because the proximity to downtown. Location wise is good, is walking distance to major attractions, like The Parliament, the Museum of Art… also it’s close to restaurants, the market and bakery places. The room itself is okay, nothing fancy, we stayed a Friday night, it was very noisy throughout the night. You can hear everything through the thin walls. But that’s not on the hotel, but the guests. Just be aware that parking is not free. It’s $10 CAD. Not a big deal, but just know this is an extra charge besides the cost of the room. When you check-in, the front desk will take $200 CAD, that will be refunded the next day. In general, this is a okay hotel. It’s affordable and close to downtown

Wanted to get some information for a friend that was coming into town in a few weeks. First impressions we're not very good. I couldn't figure out how to get in until I saw someone else get buzzed in! Whoever heard of not having open doors at a hotel or motel. There was a lineup in front of me and from what I could see there was glass in front of the cashier and I'm not sure of that is because of covid or if it's bulletproof for the protection of the staff. Never did get my info.

It cost me 260 for one night, mostly because I needed a pet friendly room. I booked directly with the hotel because I was afraid of not getting a pet friendly room online. The room was very small and the parking lot where I walked my dog to take a pee was dirty and littered with beer cans and random garbage. I was afraid my dog might step on a needle. The bed, TV and bathroom were acceptable. The electrical outlet on the wall was missing its cover and would be dangerous to pets and children. The room was worth $120 max. It took forever to check out because the staff had to deal with billing mistakes and miscommunication for each guest ahead if me.

well when we stepped outside to go in a walk to see the city there was a group of people doing crack outside the building (not really something I would want my kid to see). We had to pay for parent and were told we would have breakfast included with the prize we payed for. Charging outlets in our room do not work at all and the tv is completely broken, no microwave. It had a weird stain on the one bed, body wash or soap all across the shower wall like it hasn’t been cleaned (I have not seen any cleaning people and no one came into our room to clean up during our stay). most importantly is safety and the lock on our door was broken off. Definitely not a hotel to stay at with young kids or a big family to see the city.

It is very amazing location in downtown area and everything close by. The staff is wonderful team but there was impolite receptionist who I think her name is Mariam, was talking over the cellphone in the parking lots and me and my husband were smoking in the parking lots and she was using harsh language in Arabic abusing Jews but she didn't know that we were understanding Arabic language. We have visited Ottawa several times and it is very safe place.
