My friend stayed at this hotel she was in a bad car accident that was not her fault well she was waiting for her car to be fixed and stayed here as it was close by to the shop with her boyfriend. They deleted her review and she is not able to post her reviews now aswell. She has ocd and is extremely clean. She tied up all the garbage bags and left a ten dollar tip for the staff even though they told her in the morning to extend when she was going to at night so she didn’t have to get woken up in the morning due to her injury. The morning came they were very rude with her and I had to pick her up because they stole her deposit saying her room needed extra cleaning ! Terrible service. I have stayed before aswell and have not come back since due to the lack of cleanliness. She noticed the same things as me just a concrete building with modernized touches very cold. Not clean. No room service. Rude staff . No amenities. Shampoo and stuff In the shower half empty. Doors don’t close properly. Shower wall is see through so if someone is in the bed room they have a clear view of you showering. Don’t go here ! They delete the real reviews !

Nothing special. Great location, mediocre views on 16 th floor (1612) of just a gravel roof and other buildings. No bathtub, and when i inquired about bathtubs they said only rooms with double beds have tubs. All queen. Eds have shower no tub. For $35 extra a night plus tax i could upgrade to a double bed room to get access to tub. I was not interested in paying more than $180 for access to a tub for 5 nights so I paid $5.75 and went to Park Pool which had a pool and hot tub. Desks had no drawers and no mirror in front of desk so could not use it to apply make up gad to stand up in bathroom to apply make up snd do hair. Suggest they put mirror on wall over desk. Ice machines on 7 th snd 12 floor but 12 th floor entry pad not working so they told me to use 7th floor one. Good hot water pressure, comfy beds, clean place. Pleasant front desk service. Stored luggage after check out If they had a bath tub, working access to ice machine, a restaurant on site, and moved me to a room with a tub at no fee I would have given 5 stars.

Room is nice, clean and relatively spacious. The view wasn’t good, but l didn’t care. I did enjoy the free pool table near the bar in the lobby.

Nice hotel overall, friendly staff. Took away 1 star as the washroom shelf was dusty.

I had a great stay at the Alt Hotel in Ottawa! Rooms were very clean, and there was shampoo, conditioner, and soap available (with argan oil in it - the first time my hair hasn't protested hotel shampoos). The design of the rooms were very pretty with a very modern feel, and definitely well maintained. Beds were super comfy with lots of pillows, a great mattress, and very comfy linens and comforter. A cherry on top was a cafe in the lobby with Happy Goat coffee, lots of breakfast options and goodies which I could grab on my way out in the morning. There was also a bar and lounge area which was always buzzing in the evening and a great spot to socialize/decompress. Thank you for a great stay and hope to be back soon!

Ideally located with a very cozy atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. It is announced as pet friendly and it is really pet friendly, our dog was welcome with a blanket, a cushion and bowls already there in the room. The bar area is comfy and the staff is really helpful Warmly recommend.

Well located, great service, it's people is so polite, rooms are great. Really loved staying here. Unfortunately there isn't a full service restaurant but the bar is wonderful.

A typical ALT hotel - rooms are spacious for the price, and functional for business travellers. The lack of mini fridge continues to bother me about this chain but, it’s the same at any Alt hotel. Service is great at the front desk. Location is central in the downtown and I didn’t have any safety concerns walking around in the evening outside. The breakfast cafe is really hit and miss. Very kind staff, but lacking in stock if you’re banking on having a specific item or need to feed your kids.

I'd say this hotel is comfortable and trendy; good for business, younger people, or anyone that likes a convenient drink late at night. The location is suitable for a variety of needs, and you can expect the usual attentive staff and service. The only complaint I have is the design and cleanliness of the rooms: some corners were quite dirty, and the washroom's layout isn't the most well thought out. I'd still recommend this if you have the budget for a fancier stay.

Stayed at the hotel for business x 5 days. Location is fantastic and overall my stay was pleasant, however much work is needed on transactions/charges and there was one particular staff who everyday was not a good day, I would suggest not putting her in the coffee shop her communication skills and attitude were poor. All other staff were pleasant and professional. Charge wise some of us were charged one night stays when the company prepayed this matter, others had what seemed to be rather large holds on our cards. The hotel has a coffee, light snack, cocktail area that needs more then one staff trying to run all 3 areas. My room was clean and adequate. The bed is more on the softer side. Restaurants and sights all within walking distance.

My experience and opinion at this hotel: Good points: 1. Lower prices for federal employees. 2. Nice design and well situated downtown. 3. Cute small bar 4. Good wifi Less good or bad points: 1. Bed and pillow so soft - made my back hurt like hell (and no I’m not that old) 2. All soaps and products were already halfway used and didn’t seem to have been cleaned. 3. Paper toilet roll when we arrived was already started but was « sealed » with the water tap round trick. 4. The bathroom door is hella awkward, there’s s big gap where you hear and can see everything that is going on in there (a bit like public stalls) 5. Parking not with the hotel. 6. Had bad service at check-in employee didn’t know how to use an email version of gift card and told me to deal with it at checkout (even though I had an email that asked that I show at check-in). 7. I didn’t mind this one but could bother someone else - but if you shower everyone in the room can see you.

Fair pricing, and an overall fun modern vibe with friendly staff. Biggest gripe would be that the hotel room ceilings were as the front desk described "unfinished". Aka stuff hanging from between the plaster panels. Besides that, room was very clean, water pressure was great, and bed was extremely comfy. Would recommend, but just hoping the ceiling issue gets addressed.

Really enjoy staying at Alt Hotels - we last stayed at the one in St John’s NL. The room at the one in Ottawa was almost the same layout which was great. The only difference was the beds which are very soft/plush in Ottawa; it was hard on my back and I didn’t sleep very well. Minor issue and a personal preference.

We stayed at this hotel for one night while on a family trip to Ottawa. The rooms are on the smaller side but they have everything you need and are clean and comfortable. The check-in process was quick and easy and the staff were all quite friendly. The location is excellent- within walking distance to parliament hill and lots of restaurants. They allowed us to check out a little later without any issues witch was very much appreciated. We’d especially like to highlight the staff at the lounge/cafe. The manager (Aniz?) was especially nice and went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. We would definitely stay here again on our future visits to Ottawa!

I am super impressed by the alt hotel. The rooms are spacious, sleek and clean. Lounge is very cool and I’ve had the best I found coffee in Ottawa so far! Pool table, games, books, cozy seating. Staff are very professional and friendly!

The Alt Hotel Ottawa is probably our favourite Canadian hotel, so my wife and I decided to stay for a full five nights as part of our end-of-summer vacation, culminating in her birthday. The staff were all superb all the way through, accommodating requests big and small with a smile and a helpful suggestion. They were invariably friendly and helpful, one and all, but I have to give special commendation to Cameron, who was instrumental in arranging an amazing bouquet of flowers as a surprise for my wife on the morning of her birthday, when we were checking out. He helped out in many ways over the course of our stay (and, again, he was far from alone), but this was a particularly great touch, and I know it was not an orthodox or particularly simple request, so I very much appreciate it. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with a stay at the Alt Hotel Ottawa, and my wife and I are both very much looking forward to our next opportunity to come to Ottawa and stay!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It had an excellent location with a parkade available just across the street. The hotel staff were very friendly and approachable. There was a restaurant/bar in the lobby that stayed open quite late each night which is great if you are arriving late or socializing! My room had a small view but more importantly for me, the decor was modern, the shower was excellent, there was an updated entertainment system with Chromecast and it was extremely clean. Some small negatives are that the lighting in the bathroom was not the best for doing my makeup in the morning and I also did not find a mini fridge in my room but there was a coffee maker. I will stay here any time I'm in the area!

We had an excellent stay at this hotel. Room was clean, quiet, and the modern decor interesting. The staff were super helpful, immediately offering boiled water when I asked about using the coffee machine to make tea. It was in a great location - walking distance from everything. The only issue was no parking, but there were lots of public parking lots nearby. We will definitely use this hotel again in future, either in Ottawa, or others across the country.

Really great walk ability, and very clean. But the one bedroom suites do not have doors to their washroom they have saloon hinged things that do not close for privacy. And the website really talked up the lounge and bar but every time we went there it was day-old food in a display case, and they had no coffee or the decaf espresso machine was broken. The staff at checkout was not wearing his mask, wearing it on his chin, not exactly great.

I was booked at ALT Hotel Ottawa Ontario while I attended the Pan Canadian Voices for Women in Housing Symposium recently. Rooms were eco friendly (green). Very chic hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Luckily when my flight back home was delayed then cancelled last minute, Symposium organizers were still at hotel (thankfully) & were able to book me in for a couple more nights (same floor). Until I waited for my rebooked flight. Rooms were very high end, with large comfy beds, expresso machine in room. Large bathroom & lots of counter space. Enjoyed my extended stay. Cafe food was good too.

We got sent here by Air Canada due to an unexpected overnight layover. It was very nice! The room was very clean and modern, and the staff were very kind! They also have a great bar with many drink options!

Room without a view! But the hotel was we'll located and had lovely reception staff who were very helpful. We had read negative reviews about the parking across the street but we found easy to access with a satnav and actually quite conveniently located. Room was clean and tidy. I would recommend it.

The hotel was really nice, rooms were well kept and clean, they might be smaller than what you are used to but you notice that you don't need more. The bed was comfortable and there were no issues with the service. The only issue for me was the parking, it's town parking so unless you want to pay every time you come in and out, you are stuck without a car to move around. But you are close enough to a lot of things that you can walk everywhere. This hotel is one that we will be returning to when we will be going back to Ottawa as a couple

Impressive, stylish hotel with very nice, well appointed rooms. I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable bed! I would definitely stay here again. The service was excellent. Great value and for a 3 star hotel, is much nicer than many 4 star hotels that I have stayed at.

Exceptional service Clean, nice hotel, very good for business meetings. Super-friendly staff (I had to go online after checking out, and they provided me access, brought me water, and, when I had to connect my laptop to power, a staff member saw that and carried a high table and a stool over next to a power outlet, so I could continue working; all without me asking!) Breakfast options need some improvement, but it’s just a few minutes walk away from nice areas of Ottawa. Very good Internet, nice meeting space.

Stayed there for 3 nights. The room was great. Didn't feel cold. Upon entry to the room, I adjusted the room temperature to 22°C (it was 18°C when I came). Very comfortable bed. The shower was great. I really liked the lobby and the cafe. I had a coffee which was really good. Staff were friendly. Would defenetly come back again.

Loved, loved, loved this hotel. Check in was easy, room was immaculate with modern decor (although it is on the smaller size and there's no fridge), the bar was fantastic, and the staff were kind, helpful, and fun. Was worried about the off-site parking, but it's literally right across the street. Highly recommend. Will absolutely stay here again.

I've been there before during my first visit to Ottawa, liked the modern-industrial design, excellent location, friendly&professional staff and good price. In total, always been pleased with the Alt Hotels that I've visited before.

Okay location, Check in and Check out was fast. The room though was overpriced. Damage on walls, the ceiling looked like they gave up on it and left it unfinished. The room did feel small, but was okay for one person.

Front desk is friendly. Had spent two nights and found the Pillows got so heavy detergent smell like just dried after soaked in detergent and not rinsed well which made me difficult to fall asleep. Just needed a hotel for sleeping and shower, so didn’t explore the hotel. Can say the room and the bathroom is neat but not clean enough.

Meeting room, food for meeting and lobby area was really nice. The rooms were decent but it had been years since I have seen a double bed. No fridge in room and a ceiling that looked like it was drywalled by a preschooler.

Excellent hotel in the heart of downtown Ottawa that is very dog friendly! No issues with check in. Room was large, clean, and very modern. They had a dog bed and bowls ready in our room as well. Very walkable to all the main restaurant streets. Would highly recommend staying here.

Clean, nice looking hotel with very friendly staff. Liked the entrance layout with the accessible bar, lounge area and billiard and computer area. Loved the flexible check out time!! Rooms (queen room) had everything we needed and was clean. A mini fridge would’ve been nice though. Location was great with ease of access to restaurants and tourist area. Would’ve liked not having banging noises from neighbouring rooms so early in the AM and weird squeaky noises coming from the bathroom faucets? AC machine?

A calming, comfortable atmosphere. My partner and I came here for the weekend. Room was perfect, clean and comfortable. The lounge, bar and pool table area were absolutely perfect. The drinks made at the bar were delicious. We definitely enjoyed our time and and will come again.

Soooo disappointed! For the amount paying for this room, they do not clean the room, change towels, make the bed, empty the garbage, et al because they tell us, it is because of “covid”. But yet, they will make up this room for the next guest! When I travel and pay for a hotel room, I want to be treated like a guest and not like I am still at home to make my bed and use yesterday’s towels😡. This is NOT a covid restriction but simply an excuse. NOT HAPPY!,

  • 4/5 Florence M. 2 years ago on Google
Nicely designed hotel with a relaxed vibe. Super friendly staff and the coffee in the lounge is good. I don’t know if it was just because of where my room was located but I found it to be really loud, so not great for sleeping. Bring earplugs, I guess? The bed was really comfy and the room was clean though.

Absolutely beautiful. Was here to facilitate a meeting but would come back for a gateway weekend or photoshoot.

  • 4/5 Dominic 2 years ago on Google
Located just a short walk to Parliament Hill and ByWard market with many restaurants. Parking across the street in a public parking garage. Staff at check in/out was very friendly and helpful. Room were modern and very clean. Bed really comfy. No refrigerator in room but you can ask in advance to get one. Minus one star because of the door of the bathroom, because a saloon door for the bathroom is not really the best choice even as a couple. All in all would come again.

  • 5/5 Karen T. 1 year ago on Google
Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We arrived late and had no issues checking in at all. Room was clean and good sized for 2 people. The hotel was quiet and located within walking distance to parliament. Very smooth experience.

Had a great stay. Couldn't believe how quiet it was. The room was very comfortable and have a cool vibe to them. Front desk staff where welcoming and speedy with their service. The bartender was very helpful as well.

Hotel was exactly as advertised and as previous ppl have outlined there is a frosted shower in the room..this doesn't bother me. Coffee shop wasn't staffed

Good location but the staff were incompetent and unprofessional Joseph at reception didn't stop chewing his gum long enough to have a proper conversation with me Business trip and these guys fumbled the logistics so badly I waited in that lobby for over an hour Also the decor is so gaudy... the cringe side of kitsch

  • 4/5 Tommy O. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel is next to the office and center to everything you want to see in downtown Ottawa. The room is clean. The bathroom has only shower and is modern. Not much view though. There is no parking inside the hotel, we need to use the parking garage across the street.

  • 4/5 Mike D. 1 year ago on Google
Overall, it's a very nice hotel located in the downtown core. Very modern with a European touch. Friendly staff. I would recommend staying here, particularly for business travelers.

  • 3/5 Amy S. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms and service were good. Very chic. Parking was 27$ per night in the lot across the street.
