Careful when booking! You pay extra for "Room with a view", they show you picture with the parliament view and what you get is a parking lot and construction view. If you complain, a extremely rude full of attitude tall blond receptionist tells you that it only means it's a high floor, and not about the "quality" of the view. The hotel is good, the breakfast restaurant is great, but the service is awful. I enjoyed the whole experience, but he attitude towards my question made me hate it.

My stay at Andaz by Hyatt, Ottawa, was exceptional. The modern yet inviting atmosphere, impeccable service, and attention to detail created a truly luxurious experience. The room was stylish and comfortable, and the staff's friendliness enhanced the overall stay. Highly recommend for a top-notch hotel experience in Ottawa. The lights at the parliament were off during night and that was a big disappointment.

Beautiful room, comfy bed, well designed very modern and hats off probably the best location downtown Ottawa. The view from the rooftop is amazing. The staff are also welcoming and friendly. Gave it three stars because of the small parking lot which becomes a crisis during period of high traffic like Canada day and long weekends. The room also doesn’t have microwave oven and to heat your food you need to go to the reception.

Well located (but lots of homeless people in the morning or late night in the area, so always be careful!), quiet room with a modern interior design, and complementary snacks. These were what I liked about the hotel. “Room with a view” gets you higher floor but with a construction view. I experienced two ends of spectrum in terms of service quality during my stay. When everything goes well, they are chill and kind. When things go wrong, there is no sense of accommodation, flexibility or urgency. I would NOT recommend this place for any business-related travel.

I didn’t have a particularly bad experience at Andaz, but i have no idea why this is advertised as a 4 star hotel. The building is new and modern, and rooms do look sleek with a remarkable view of parliament (west facing). But beyond that, the hotel is subpar. The parking is extra and located above ground in a dingy back parking lot. The thermostat in the room couldn’t go above 20 degrees, so the room was a little cold. We requested slippers but staff could not provide any. The bar downstairs was also closed for the entire trip. The restaurant is quite nice, pricey but delicious with good presentation. Overall it’s a decent place to stay in Ottawa especially being tucked in the Byward market, but definitely not worthy of the label 4 star.

I'm from Ottawa originally, now living in Montreal, and travelling back to the capital often for work. I have stayed at the Andaz at least a dozen times throughout the years, and I used to *love, love, love* it. So, although I hadn't returned for almost two years because of my last experience (a bug literally crawled out of the pillow I was laying on), I was coming to town for just one night, and figured I'd give Andaz another go. The check-in was fine, but I was stunned by the diminished quality of the room - this hotel has seen a LOT of wear and tear. I asked for a late checkout (12pm instead of 11am) and was told it would be a $35 charge. I accepted, but was called the next morning at 11am by an irritated staff member who told me I had to check out - a note had not been left on my file, apparently. I did end up checking out at 12pm. But then, the next day, I noticed the hotel had charged the room to my personal credit card (left for incidentals), rather than the corporate card left on file by my work at the time of booking - even though the clerk explicitly confirmed the corporate card was the correct one. I ended up having to go through the reimbursement process with my work, which took forever. It's also worth noting that the hotel does not allow delivery persons to the floors/rooms, and so if you order from an app such as Uber Eats/Skip the Dishes, you have to go to the lobby to get it, which sort of defeats the purpose of delivery (especially the late night ones!). Considering I stayed here for one night, and only spent a few waking hours in my hotel room, there were a *TON* of inconveniences, and the simplest, most basic tasks could not be done right. I was hoping my first visit in two years would see Andaz redeem itself, but at this point I have seen enough. Definitely won't ever stay here again. This hotel is FAR past its glory days.

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any stay. This website will compare countless booking websites and normally will have rooms a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is the best rated in the area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won't be let down. The hotel is well situated in the Byward Market area Ottawa. The front desk staff are all super sweet and helpful, especially Jane, who is so thoughtful!!! The rooms themselves are very nice, we have a lovely view. Everything is clean and modern with clear adherence to COVID-19 safety measures.

I stayed for 2 nights and my room was not cleaned during the day (bed, towels, garbage, etc). I was staying alone in the room for business so I certainly didn't have a significant mess. Someone did enter and replenish the chips and chocolate. Isn't this a baseline expectation of a hotel? When I mentioned this to the front desk, they seemed unsurprised, and said sometimes short stay rooms are not cleaned daily. They offered someone to come and change the towels and empty the garbage. I paid $250/night for an upgraded room and I received $10 in housekeeping compensation. It is an aesthetically pleasing hotel but I was shocked at their lack of care towards this basic amenity. There were also loud parties in rooms down the hall that were audible from my room - I did not make a fuss about this as they did provide ear plugs and I'm a deep sleeper. I expected more from a 4 star hotel and would not stay here again.

Excellent experience. Everything was very clean. Rooms are beautiful! We had a very nice view from the 7th floor. I advise you to ask for a corner room. The view is amazing.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Great location, rooms are nice, bed are comfy. However, we had two room for the night, same floor same side of the street. One room had significantly more street noise than the other. I called the front desk and asked if they could come and take a look at the windows and curtains. Maybe there’s trick to it that I didn’t figure out. The front desk checked something on the computer and said there’s nothing wrong with the windows and curtains. He apologizes for the noise but there’s nothing he could do, and hung up on me.

Really well located hotel near parliament hill, close to a few of the nice Ottawa museums, and right at the by market. Each room is in its own little 2-3 rooms nook so there’s no noise issues from the corridor. And you get included water, chips, chocolate and Coca Cola included in the room, which is a nice touch! Really attentive staff , nice rooms, modern and stylish. A really nice hotel

Comfortable hotel in the market with comfortable beds and nice views. A nice restaurant that is expectedly a bit pricey and a cool rooftop lounge. Beds are comfortable but I found the pillows too soft. Staff were excellent and all in all I would stay again!

Does not have microwave. Dirty beddings. Room is well designed. The hotel looks classy and modern. Parking is a surface lot next to the hotel. Not gated, looks a little sketchy. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. The only microwave guests can potentially use is in the staff’s break room. Low floor rooms next to streets can be very noisy. I feel that the huge windows are not particularly sound proof.

The room I got, was spacious and clean. They have a nice rooftop terrasse, with a small gym on the same floor. Staff were friendly and super helpful. Stephanie, one of the managers, was so accommodating to my need for work even after my check out. I will definitely come back and I recommend 10/10!

Stayed for 4 nights. The stay was good, and I do love complimentary wine, front desk staff were absolutely wonderful. Location was perfect, and almost everything was in walking distance. However, I felt the servicing of rooms severely lacked. And I had to go down by night 3 to ask if it was even going to get done during our stay. Was assured it would be done first thing the next day, which ended up being almost 4pm.

Great location in proximity to byward market. Awesome cafe/bar within and rooftop resto/bar. Nice complimentary water and snacks. Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Rooms are not sound proof at all though so we heard conversations through doors just walking down the hall. that being said, earplugs and a white noise machine were offered to each room if needed. They have room service which is nice!

Check in area is fairly small and there was a film crew filming in the lobby but our check in experience was pretty hassle free as they have no issue with you parking outside the hotel temporarily to unload and check in. The front desk was pretty friendly and generous offering room upgrade and late checkout to honor my Hyatt status. Our room was a corner room with great view of the ByWard market and Parliament. Free ear plugs were provided for constructions going on in the area but we found no need to use them during the stay. There are constantly panhandlers in front of the hotel but I don’t think it ever got to a point to make me feel unsafe. Only issue we had was the thermostat wasn’t working properly. We didn’t tell the front desk until our last night and was told there was no engineer available at night that day. Prob should have reported it earlier on the first night when we noticed the room temp display doesn’t match the setting. Overall it wasn’t a deal breaker and def would stay again if I’m back to the area. For parking I will recommend the covered garage that’s only one block away on 141 Clarence street. It cost me only $30 for three nights as the Indigo parking by the hotel is uncovered and cost $35 per day.

Beware! Deceptive advertising practices are in play for their rooms with a view when booked through Expedia for TD. Booked a room with a view for Parliament and was told after we entered the room and was confused. When we came down to the desk to speak to them about it, they stated they have different views available to upgrade to (City vs Parliament). Their city view is pointless so why they even claim that as a great option is part of the problem and should not be an upgrade option. Staff were not welcoming at initial check-in and was made to stand awkwardly in an empty lobby while both stood there on their computers. The delivery drivers are made to wait in the lobby and not permitted to go up to the floors to deliver which is a small inconvenience. The 'desk' in the room looks out of place and shoved up against the bench as the rooms are small and don't have enough room. If you'd like to buy a bottle of their shampoo, conditioner or body wash, you can for $50 each.... The small outdoor parking lot next door could be an issue if the hotel is full as there was only a couple spots available when we stayed this weekend. The only great aspect was location as it was close proximity to a lot of restaurants, bars and shops.

Wonderful hotel! The rooms are spacious, modern and very bright. Our room had a beautiful view over Ottawa. In the room there are chips, chocolate and non-alcoholic drinks which are all complimentary. Very nice! We were here for our honeymoon and received a nice dessert plate with a sweet message from the hotel. This was very thoughtful. Too bad we only stayed here for one night. I can definitely recommend this hotel.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. They charged me an additional $450 after I already paid through a third party booking provider l. When I checked in the girl at the front desk I double checked I wouldn’t be charged again for this and the credit card on file was simply for a security deposit. They insisted it was fine and then later charged me. Extremely unhelpful staff when I try and call for help to sort it out. Managers won’t return my calls or messages. Never staying here again, not worth the hassle or money.

I can't say enough about this hotel. From the wonderful rooms with a view, to the service out of this world... I love staying here. This time my special recognition is for Amanda Kirchhof and the housekeeping team, that saved an element that I forgot at the hotel. Not only they respect the guests' privacy, have wonderful rooms and service, but they are also the best problem solvers as I have never experienced staying at a hotel. Congrats!

Hyatt by all standards ! Easy check in with free wine or bottled water! Amazing coffee bar on main floor and restaurant with view on the rooftop! We did an upgrade to a quiet room.. immaculate separate bathroom, shower and sink area! Walk in closet , beautiful blankets! Room service , great lighting, nice fridge , complimentary water.. small pay bar in room and amazingly comfy bed and pillows. Lots of charging spots and nice sitting area to eat in room with a view ! Close walk to everything .. parking a little limited at times but we found one ! Close to everything ✅

This hotel is beautiful, and you pay for that. It's location is sort of on the edge of Central, which seems to leave room for a rather large homeless population. Plenty of great restaurants and the Rideau shopping center within walking distance, but the atmosphere outside really changes after dark. All-in-all... a good experience... Great during the day.

Amazing hotel. Easy check in, clean and very modern room. Complementary soda and chips. We were on our honeymoon and the staff left a nice note and dessert in our room while we were out eating. This is hospitality at it's finest. I can only recommend others to stay here.

I had such an amazing time staying at this absolutely incredible 5-star hotel! The room service was absolutely top-notch. I can't even begin to describe how unbelievably friendly and attentive Jasmine, the host, was. She really went above and beyond to take exceptional care of us.

  • 2/5 Heidi C. 7 months ago on Google
Might have been nice at one time, but that time isn’t now. About a 12 inch crack on our ceiling with water damage and mildew all through the shower. Paid extra for a room with a view. Our view is construction and run down buildings. Maybe the other side of the hotel has better views? No shop in the hotel or near by for toiletries. Needed some headache meds and the only place the “front desk” could react was over two blocks away. I know they can’t do much about the homeless outside their doors. But they can make basic necessities available for purchase in the lobby.

Gonna pass for another brand next time and this is NOT a 4* and NOT luxurious. What hotel doesn’t put fitted sheets on their beds. They just place flats on top of mattress toppers? Bathrooms have no fans? Furniture is chipped and tabletops are faded and cushions have pills from being washed? We had to reset our keys twice as they kept failing. Parked at a parking garage a couple blocks down as the lot next to the hotel has no protection from the people off the street and at $35/day I would expect better. The garage is $17/day. They gym has dumbbells and cardio machines so pretty bare bones.

I hate to give poor reviews, but our recent stay at the Andaz was disappointing. We rented a suite for our wedding weekend. Although our wedding wasn't held at the hotel, we stayed at the Andaz and the guests of our wedding rented 15 rooms. Before check in, I informed the front desk in a light-hearted way that it was our wedding, so if they wanted to leave something special for us upon arrival, it would be appreciated. Also, when we booked the room months ago we checked the box that asked if our stay was for a special occasion and we told them it was our wedding. When I spoke to the guy at the front desk before check in, he was awkward and didn't seem to care. Needless to say, nothing was in our room upon arrival. The night before our wedding, a group of us went up to the rooftop bar after dinner and we were treated poorly. We were told we were taking up too much room around the bar and the servers couldn't pass. We were made to feel like we were inconveniencing the staff (and the bar was almost empty). We're all in our late 30s and early 40s. We're not party animals and we were more than respectful. One bartender was friendly and brought a stool for me to sit on when were finally offered tables near the window which were empty when we arrived but were told we couldn't sit down, which was why we mingled around the bar. For the cost of drinks ($20+) and the cost of our rooms, I expected more for our wedding weekend. It's a shame. The location is great, the rooms are nice, but the service really was unacceptable.

Don't forget to use HoteITully.ᴄᴏm when booking a hotel. This website will compare hundreds of booking web sites and typically will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you for sure will love it I'm sure! Great places to stay and enjoy a fun cocktail in their rooftop bar. Stay for a weekend business trip and had a wonderful time eating at the restaurant and the rooftop. As well as the service staff are wonderful and very accommodating.

We recently stayed at ANDAZ for a week, we were so impressed especially with front desk Ryan Taylor, he made our stay so welcoming and helpful we didn’t want to leave! We loved the Lounge upstairs, the Jumbo shrimp was amazing, the restaurant in the lobby we ate twice was delicious ! I recommend the salmon. Thanks Ryan and all the staff! Kindest Regards Richard&Rhonda

The room was great and the service was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable, but was it ever loud at night. They supplied ear plugs but only one pair. The restaurant was fantastic. The parking left something to be desired, and there wasn't much parking available. The view from the room was awesome! Right in the heart of the byward market.

Recently stayed 2 nights with a buddy on Thanksgiving weekend. The positives: - The service was stellar, especially at check-in. Very friendly and professional. We arrived early to drop off our luggage and they let us check-in right away which is always a plus. - The room itself was absolutely great. Clean, modern and comfortable. - Cool amenities such as the ability to text for room service 24/7. Disappointment: I paid extra for a room with a view. Our "view" was to the east and not nice at all. I don't recommend paying for a view, just go up to the rooftop patio and you'll see the nicer view facing west from there.

This was honestly a delight stay. One of the best we’ve been to in a very long time. The customer service was incredible, accommodation was also very good. Our room wasn’t ready when got in for check-in and the accommodated us to a deluxe room right away. They provide a free crib for our 5 month old baby. The hotel is nearby many places and feels very safe. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Special mention to Qivvzah, she was very welcoming at the front desk and joyful, made the stay even better! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Melissa greeted us, our room was ready and she was very helpful, friendly and offered suggestions for our stay. The room was spacious and clean, I loved the little wardrobe for our closet and do love a pocket door, a very nice touch for the bathroom. Staff was always available and truly made our stay wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel right in the heart of Byward market, no need to drive once you arrive.

Good clean modern hotel. I found the room a little small - in a room with 2 queens I would have hoped for 2 chairs and a desk but there wasn't enough space. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. My main complaint is with the website and App from which I wasn't able to find information on parking, amenities, opening times and menus. However, when I used the app to text I did get prompt helpful replies.

Andaz Ottawa Byward Market is right in the Byward Market. The location is central to many of Ottawa's attractions. It is an easy walk (around 10-15 min) to Parliament Hill, the Rideau Centre, and the National Art Gallery. The staff were friendly and helpful. Have requested some of the items and house keeping people did honoured it in a timely manner. On site parking size is small as they are sharing with private parking lot. There was a good view of the Market and Parliament from the eleventh floor and hotel room was nice, clean and very comfortable.

Beautiful, clean and modern. We loved our stay at this hotel. The only downside is that the immediate neighbourhood can look pretty ruff at night with many homeless people milling about. By day, the market is very lively and inviting!

Excellent location and probably the nicest rooftof view of the city. Enjoyable during the day and at night. Service is great, atmosphere is enjoyable. You can have a light meal or a few drinks. Very happy with the overall experience. Modern look and design and very clean

Awesome hotel in the By-ward market, stayed a total of 2 weeks for work. Great hotel with everything you want within walking distance. Parking is offered at the hotel but it’s the only bad thing about this place, constant double parking sometimes we couldn’t even get out. Other guests parked so badly especially in driveways clearly market as fire routes. The hotel did not do a good job considering there are usually at least 3-4 employees just hanging out at the lobby.

Before you go decide to come, ask yourself, why am I even going to Ottawa? If your answer isn’t either: 1. Visiting friends/family or 2. Work. Then I suggest change your mind (it’s Ottawa there’s nothing to do). But I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and say your reason for being here is valid. Don’t go to the Andaz, not great service, not great food, constantly packed lobby, rooms will not be ready on time. No valet + minuscule parking lot, you will likely have to park two blocks away. Nice reception and concierge, give them a raise.

Great place in a great location - walking distance to most attractions in Ottawa. We had the standard 2 queen room with a great view of Byward market. It was cozy but had everything we needed for our family of four. The beds are probably the comfiest ones I’ve ever slept on in a hotel and the rooms are well isolated so everyone had a good night sleep.

One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. The uncleanliness was appalling. Stains on the toilet seat upon entering the room. The front desk changed rooms but it was a downgrade. Ridiculous. Just spend a couple extra bucks and stay somewhere better.

Stayed on a recommendation from a local friend. Perfectly situated in the downtown core with plenty of restaurants and parking near by. Check in was quick with Maria letting us know all the details we could ask for. The room was large with a view of Parliament. The bathroom is large and fully stocked either everything you would need for your stay. Small walk-in closet for your jackets, boots and luggage. Nice seating area with plenty of light if needed. Comfortable bed for a great nights sleep. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay downtown.

First - the staff are exceptional. We stayed for 6 nights on vacation and every person who we came across, who worked at the hotel, were kind, friendly, helpful, and professional. After not travelling for the last 2 years due to the pandemic, walking into the lobby of the Andaz Ottawa Hotel and being greeted by staff felt like home. We've travelled to a few places this summer in Canada. This staff has something special, and I believe it comes down to their ability to make a connection with their guests. Second - the Location is perfect; it just cant be beat. So close to Byward Market and less than a 15 min walk to all of the major attractions. Third - the view from our hotel room was stunning, the rooms are large and we had more than enough space for a longer stay: ironing board available, large closet space, fridge, desk area, a spacious bathroom from a hotel standard. I know that I will definitely return when I'm back in Ottawa.

I had the delight to stay here this past weekend and am so thrilled this was the hotel we had chosen. We were treated absolutely wonderfully by the entire staff. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff at the reception was incredibly welcoming and kind hearted throughout the entirety of our stay. We had a bridal party stay there in preparation for the wedding and had issues with spacing which the general manager addressed and resolved overnight Friday. we could not have been any happier with the services from the Andaz staff, specifically the manager on duty Mulenga. Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful. We plan on trying Hyatt hotels around the world thanks to this experience.

Amazing experience with Andaz. Highly recommend getting the view of the Parliament side. Great amenities like free chips, non-alcoholic beverages and chocolate sent to the room. The room and common rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. Only put 4 stars because they accidentally charged us for the wrong room (more expensive than our booking), but it was fixed before paying.

We had a short 2 night visit and we were very happy with our stay. Room was clean, bright, modern and comfy. Staff was kind and quick! Location was wonderful, many things to do in a very short walking distance. The hotel is pet friendly so there was some barking but as another dog owner this was no issue and we loved seeing all the dogs.

Our second time at Andaz Hotel Ottawa. We like it because of the location right in the heart of By Market and the modern and nicely decorated room. We recommend the Deluxe King Corner Room with a view on Parliament Building. This room is spacious, with floor to ceiling windows, and plenty of day light. The front desk personnel was absolutely adorable, polite and very eager to help. The only minus is the parking, 35$ a day self park is very expensive.

The food was delicious, I went for the egg plant. I asked for a cocktail recommendation but ended up with a beer, they all seemed pretty boozy. The atmosphere was simple and elevated, not too stuffy. The concept was a bit confusing to navigate (lounge vs restaurant vs hotel) but we got a beautiful corner table that was perfect for people watching. The lobster dish and salmon dish looked delicious too!

Amazing hotel, comfiest bed, great service. My partner and I just had a wonderful stay where we were given complimentary glasses of wine upon check-in to an upgraded room at no cost. It is our favourite hotel in the city we always go back to. Can't wait for our next stay!

Cheap room. Great unbeatable location. Rooms shabby in need of a good cleaning & a housekeeper with an eye for details....curtains coming off the hooks, rugs stained etc. Be aware no one is coming to do up your room during Covid- so learn to make your own bed! Check in & front staff (only 2) are not able to handle the hotel efficiently- restaurants not fully staffed, always a line up for the elevator.....thank goodness the weather was good otherwise you would not want to spend anytime in your room.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Andaz hotel and had an absolutely amazing stay! Ryan from the front desk definitely made this a very memorable stay for us. He was quick to make sure we had everything we needed at all times, and always delivered with a smile on his face! We got early check-in and late check-out at no extra cost. The room was very clean and filled with an assortment of free drinks at chips which we enjoyed very much. Our friends were able to come to our hotel and have drinks with us on the rooftop patio. The location of the hotel is great because we were in walking distance to pretty much everything! Overall we had a great stay, and will definitely be back in the future!
