We enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff was very helpful and when we met staff in the halls, they too were very pleasant and helpful. The continental breakfast was different from the usual, but since we were leaving early it was satisfactory. The shuttle service to the airport was great. It's only a 5 minute trip and since I hadn't been in that area for 10 years, the driver filled us in on all the changes we saw. When I realized that my cell phone had slipped out of my pocket in the van we called the front desk and it was quickly returned. Kudos to the driver. In response to a few bad reviews; we booked on the hotel website and were aware the pool was being repaired so seeing it closed didn't bother us.

I checked into this hotel at 6:30pm Because of a personal matter that was urgent, I had to check out at 8pm. I asked the girl at the front desk how much they were going to charge me for such a short stay, and she said the taxes only. Literally didn't touch anything in the room as I sat there on my phone until a situation arose and I had to leave. Check my credit card the next day only to see they charged me the full $233. I called and kindly spoke to them, asking for them to at least charge me $100-$150, they refused and said as soon as you entered its full price even if you left a minute letter. No flexibility for emergency situations. I understand they need to charge for disinfecting, but the full amount is just poor business and lack of regard for customer. Otherwise: - room is big, clean linens but a musky snell - when I checked in, I had a baby and bags. No offer for help up to my room or anything - breakfast is a container with granola bar, juice, bagel, cream cheese and butter. All other hotels have returned to proper/decent breakfast, I think they just want to stay this way as it's cheaper for them. There are much better hotels for lower better prices. I have stayed several times at the Hilton near the airport, for around $150 and it's a 3 star hotel while this is a 2 star for $233. Save your money and go somewhere decent

For the price of the rooms, I'd at least expect something other than sleeping on a direct box spring. Have these people ever even heard of a bed? Hard and stiff on the back. Front desk people could also use some more hospitality (you are in the hospitality business after all), but I guess if I worked for a place that doesn't really care about how comfortable you are and over charges, I'd probably be miserable too. The only positive thing this place has going for it is cleanliness. Some reviews say the food is alright. For what they charge, it could be a lot better.

WRONG INFO- The central reservation hub assured me that the shuttle service from the airport was running all night long to the hotel. I also double checked by calling the hotel and they assured me it was running. When I arrived at 1:30am in the morning it was not running, and I had to wait in a lengthy taxi lineup , then pay what was reassured to me to be complementary. The hotel staff did not handle this very well….. The guy at the front desk check-in should’ve been home in bed because he could hardly get his words out without coughing up a storm DIRTY! -hairs, which were not mine, on the bathroom sink and on the towels. - Shower had mildew/ mould in the grout, and a lot of it. I wanted to shower with my shoes on. -Dirty bedskirt ….. that was soiled with id hate to think about what If you’re into cleanliness this is not your place.

I want to stay polite so all I can say is if you can avoid that place then avoid it. If you want to have cold box lunch for breakfast then it's the place to go. Room was very humid with rust in the bath tube/shower which I have been told it's normal which is not. It's like if the person at the front desk thought it was the first time I was going in an hotel and he was trying to make me believe that hotels in Ottawa are like that which is completly false. You can save $10/day at that place but that saving does not worth it. Better pay $10 more somewhere else and get hot breakfast, pool access, and clean rooms (without mold and rust).

I was very unhappy with my stay at this hotel. If you like bugs in your room and rude staff this is the perfect hotel. I was discriminated for being medically exempt from wearing a mask. Hotel manager wasn’t going to let me in my hotel/room until I put on my mask, I refused to. He didn’t social distance as he was right in my face as he was telling me I couldn’t come back. The crazy part is there website states they honour exemptions that are in the bylaw easy to see on the governments website but this manager was making his own rules and misleading his employees. I have emailed them and have yet to receive a response.

Great price, friendly staff, wifi, free parking, indoor pool (open!!) and included breakfast. Had a nice room with separate bedroom, king bed, fireplace, 2 windows and a big TV. Very quiet. So..the pool isn’t huge and the breakfast is boxed but if you want more expect to pay more, much more. It’s Ottawa

Semi-clean bathroom. Broken and filthy ironing board. Iffy water temperature. Plugged bathtub drain. Tired, chipped furniture (dresser drawer would not stay closed; had to wedge it closed with a piece of cardboard.). Very soft mattresses. Fridge had not been defrosted in ages. Cheap and convenient for where I had to go for a meeting. But definitely not recommended.

The hotel was alright. For the price that was paid nearly $300 CAD a night (Canada day long weekend) it definitely wasn't worth it. They don't have any amenities other than a gym which has a few weights and 2 cardio machines. The hotel isn't very clean, I had an issue with my room and they didn't do anything about it. The location is prime as the hotel sits in downtown Ottawa which is the main reason I booked.

This hotel is terrible. We booked this hotel because it was close to the airport, it had a pool and a continental breakfast. We arrived after midnight only to find out that the elevator wasn't working (hasn't been for some time), the pool was closed/empty and they only do a boxed breakfast now (muffin, small fruit and a juice). We were there for 2 days and on the third floor. This was awful because I have a bad knee and can't do stairs on a good day. When I complained about the elevator not working, they weren't willing to move us to the first floor and the guy said "everyone in North America has bad knees". If I hadn't already been charged for the 2 days I would have gone to another hotel. I should also mention that the beds were so uncomfortable, you could feel every spring in them. My whole family was awake at 3 am the second night because our backs were all in pain. I ended up sleeping on the dining set chair with my head resting on the table. Awful hotel, don't recommend. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of the proximity to the airport.

We rolled into the days in this evening about an hour ago and the service is so good I had to write a review immediately. This is our first time staying here and for convenience to catching an early flight from the airport this place is where you want to stay. We were met by ridiculous service from the front desk. Kind, well spoken and a clever sense of humour. We stepped into our room and we received a call checking in on us to see how we were and how the room was. I don’t remember the last time a hotel did that in my journeys if ever. I highly recommend staying at the Days Inn if your flying out from Ottawa. We will be back for sure.

The room was ok. Very dated. Beds were super noisy, and some pillows were comfortable while others weren't. The bathroom was well below our expectations. Needs a lot of improvement to be worth the cost of those rooms. The shower didn't drain, and when it finally DID, there was a bunch of random hair and stains that weren't there before we showered. Super gross. Breakfast didn't meet expectations either. Coffee cups were dirty, fruit options were limited, and it kind of seemed thrown together with random things. Would not recommend, won't return.

Sustainable management in regards with use of plastic. You get to choose between paper cups or porcelin mugs. You get plenty of shampoo and soap since they have a bottle, so not wasting disposable plastic containers here. In each room there is recycling bin. Breakfast is good. Their rooms not smelly, staff are polite, the service in general is good compared to the price you pay. Accessible, cozy and comfy. I recommend it.

Lady at front desk was not helpful, pleasant or interested in moving at a promptly speed to check us in. Asked about airport shuttle and wasn’t interested in talking. I asked if the shuttle ran at 3 am for and was told no 4. I asked if I could get on the shuttle at 4 and she said ya probably. When 330am rolled around I called the front desk and asked if the shuttle was still running at 4am and the guy told me we needed to reserve a spot but luckily there was two empty seats. Driver was almost 30 minutes late showing up as the night staff didn’t tell him three groups needed a ride at 4 am. Rooms were okay, nothing special or updated and parking lot was a disaster. Parking spots not plowed, big banks getting into parking spots.

I recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. Overall, it was very clean and quiet, providing a pleasant atmosphere. However, my experience was marred by the fact that I had to approach the front desk twice to request a check on the A/C in my room. Despite the room being uncomfortably warm and hindering my ability to rest and feel comfortable, the issue was never resolved. Feeling confined due to the inability to control the room temperature was disappointing.

Definitely do not recommend staying here. Staff were wonderful but the hotel is dated, there was a receipt from a local pizza joint under the front of the bed in plain view from the previous guest. Pool was closed for maintenance, elevator hardly worked as it required multiple button presses to get it to do anything and the breakfast was rather lacking. Search elsewhere

Horrible experience. All of the services they claim to offer are still closed “for the health and safety of their staff” as in Covid. It’s 2024 - this is rediculous and just a way to cut their costs and still charge full price. The pool and gym were closed and the breakfast was “limited” - as in bagels, packaged oatmeal, overripe fruit and cold cereal. Thankfully they are beside Tims as that’s where everyone went to eat. On top of this, the hotel smells really bad - like B.O - to the point where it’s overwhelming in areas. My bed did not have a fitted sheet on it. I called front desk to ask if they could bring me one (thinking it was a mistake) and they told me they don’t have fitted sheets. Gross! I will probably end up with a skin rash. The pull out bed was unusable. Looked 50 years old and like the mattress had never been replaced - or cleaned. We chose this hotel because of the pool (as we were with a kids sports team), and also for including breakfast. For them to specifically note on their website “stay active in our heated pool and exercise facility” knowing full well it is closed and has been for 4 years is unbelievable. They clearly only care about making money - not at all about the guest experience. Never go here.

The stay was good. Room was clean. Close to amenities. I'd stay here again. I'd recommend this place. I am also a housekeeper. I left a tip and our room wasn't left a mess. Easy due out

Maintenance guy has zero personality, I called front desk to ask how to change channels and maintenence comes up hours later, first words out of his mouth "you complained about the TV?" Bro no I did not. Their food service is trash, avoid "continental breakfasts" cheap and dirty Room wasn't cleaned before visit, hair on the towels and bed. We got to swim, surprisingly, and during our swim the pool filter cover came up. Maintenance comes into the pool room, not a word was said, walks over and resets the cover. Not 15 minutes later some young women (18-20?) Come down to swim. Maintenance comes back into the pool room just to chat them up. Like dude not a good look

Stayed at this location this past September. Their gym is terrible. They tried covering up the black mold in the bathrooms looks very cheap and dirty. Found hair in the bathtub as well. Also witnessed the breakfast attendant reuse containers from the garbage one morning as well as finding mold on the bagels that was served for their continental breakfast. When confronting the front desk about these issues they denied these issues and only offered a 50.00 refund on my week long stay. Was told the manager would call me. Still waiting for a phone call. Absolutely disgusting establishment. Will never go back.

Good stay overall. Clean rooms and easy check in and out. A bit disappointed by the pool. I was there for business but took my kids - they couldn't swim long due to complaints of too much chlorine. Location is great - when you have to be in the south end of the city, this location is quite convenient.

The service was quite appalling. The front desk staff was rude and short with me for no reason, even the shuttle driver was cold and quiet. I did not feel welcome there. The room was bland and cold, the walls thin. There was virtually nothing for amenities, and the location is pretty bad (not much nearby). The only perk of this hotel is it was relatively cheap and close to the airport, but I won't be staying here again. There are other options.

Very impressed with the emphasis on cleanliness in our room and at all areas of the hotel. Having the TV remote enclosed in plastic was a nice touch.

  • 4/5 Kamille De G. 7 months ago on Google
I love how the Tv was big and there is a little dining table that was very useful. Comfort was great and A/C helped so much with the heat. I, however did not like the old chair near the window as in my opinion does not really go well in the room and not appealing. I also did not like the hairdryer in the bathroom as when I was about to use it, it was not cleaned and was full of hair and dust. The location I picked was too far from DT, though I enjoyed my stay overall.

The hotel isn't new but decently renovated. The room we got was very spacious. Service was good and we only paid $10 for an extra bed. Parking is FREE and they also have complimentary breakfast which you have to get from the front desk person.

Nice place the room was big and clean The breakfast is boxed. I gave this place 2 stars because the service was really bad. The 2 persons that we talked to was talking to other people well but with our family they were not pleasant at all and was rude. We felt there was a prejudice/colorism against us. Also they did not inform us the pool was closed and we booked their room for 3 days because of the heated pool to enjoy with family. They were really rude

  • 1/5 Ryan R. 1 year ago on Google
We paid a little extra to stay here to save some money to and from the airport and it said it included breakfast. The shuttle does not run. The breakfast is just a boxed breakfast. So we had to pay for both of those anyways. There isn’t really a point of paying extra to stay at an airport hotel that doesn’t provide services that make it convenient to stay at an airport hotel.

Very clean large room with white sheets and duvet. Bathroom was clean too. Superb location. Easy access and parking. All staff were very cordial and friendly. The neighborhood has many homeless and that is both heart-breaking and shameful for our country.

This hotel is clean, affordable, has an airport shuttle, and free breakfast ( a grab bag now due to Covid): But what makes it great is the staff at the front desk, we have stayed a number of times and this is now our official place to stay when we fly.

I was picking my wife up at 7pm at Ottawa airport, she was arriving from Montreal, after 5 hours of being told they were boarding, they cancelled the flight at 10pm,she took a cab to Ottawa,we had to stayover at the last minute. Days Inn was outstanding, gave us a lovely room & feed us at Midnight, very kind after an awful day.

Close to the airport, rooms are above average and do the trick for spending the night before a long flight. Friendly staff and a good location.

Terrible customer service at this hotel, STAY AWAY!!! The front desk manager is an absolute piece of work, extremely rude. Cleanliness of rooms is below par, beds are very uncomfortable, internet is not very good. I stayed for a total of 10 nights on a work trip with a discounted corporate rate, they manager refused to link my Wyndham number with my reservation, I ended up having to call Wyndham directly to get this matter resolved, in the end I was awarded 3 free nights at any Wyndham hotel because of the poor customer service from this hotel. He was not only rude to me, he was also very rude to the Wyndham representative that called him. Do yourself a favor & book elsewhere, many nice hotels in the area. Since then I have stayed at the Sandman (highly recommended) & currently at Homewood Suites by Hilton (also highly recommended).

The price was good, but the service was awful. I booked this hotel specifically for the shuttle which I found out stops running at 11:00 pm, but unfortunately my flight got in at 11:00 pm. I called in advance to ask if I could book a shuttle from the airport and when I found out stop running at 1, I was surprised because it didn't say the hours anywhere when I booked. The man at the front replied "but did it say that it was 24 hours?". That seemed pretty rude to me. Checking in was fine, the guy that was working the night shift was really nice. He gave me a breakfast box and was very pleasant. In the morning, however, I called down to ask for a luggage cart to be brought up to my room. The man at the front, who I think might be the man from when I called about the shuttle, said "we don't have a bellboy... you have to come get it yourself". I understand if there isn't anyone to bring it up, but I don't understand why this man needs to be so incredibly condescending to his guests. Pretty bad service, would not stay here again.

Ok hotel at a reasonable price (3.5 star rating). Good to stay for a night or two. A big plus is that Tim Horton's is literally at the doorstep. It's quite a large property. The room was very clean & had two tables which provided plenty of space for working or eating. But the building/fixtures are quite old so you may run into leaky tap/tank or extremely cold/hot room. Due to the pandemic, the breakfast is boxed & you have to request it at Front desk, who ask you plenty of questions which makes it an unplesant experience. Seemed like they are trying to save on breakfast which is probably why the chewy Bagle seemed days old & Muffins were just yucky. They do have a coffee table with fruits so you can grab those instead & get the rest from Tim Horton's. Parking is not a problem, there is large green space right outside & also some restaurants are at a short drive. Overall, not a bad experience. If nothing else available at equivalent rates then we may stay here again.

Great proximity to airport. Free airport shuttle. Due to COVID continental breakfast was unavailable but the front desk handed out breakfast boxes which were great and easy for airport. Beds were comfortable. The only issue I had was our room was so so hot even with the AC on full blast and someone came to check it. Otherwise good stay.

  • 1/5 Nahiyan A. 1 year ago on Google
We experienced terrible customer service at the reception as they were rude and racist. Our first impression of the hotel was terrible with bad customer service and extremely dirty sofas. The need to immediately change the sofas at the lobby and staff need to to provide better customer service. In the room, the front light did not switch on, the ac and phone stopped working. It was very hot in the room and we had to check out early as we could not stay due to the heat in there. The breakfast was also bad as we received a moldy orange and we did not have enough sugar to add in our coffee.

Beds were comfortable and that’s about where my praise ends. Staff were not very helpful when trying to communicate with them. Mumbling constantly and not speaking up when I repeatedly telling them I cant hear them. Pool was empty, with absolutely no details on the website about it. Wifi was unusable. Constantly disconnecting and just being a general pain. Didnt see over 2 bars a single time and was almost always on 1 bar. Guy at the front desk had a mask covering his chin but not his face. I dont care if you’re going to wear one or not, but if you’re using a disposable mask that you’re likely going to throw out after, atleast actually use it. Just all in all wasnt a great stay. Definitely wouldnt come again

Parked our car here for a two week trip to South America and stayed the night of our return. Prompt pickup and drop off and a comfortable night's sleep in a clean, comfortable room upon our return. A great breakfast too! It was all at an affordable price. We will be back!

I really wasn’t sure if this place was a Hotel or a Funeral Home. The front desk staff were not helpful. We went in to ask about booking a room when the power outage occurred and we were told right away there were no rooms. A man behind us had no reservations either but when he asked if they had a room, magically one appeared for him. We sat in the lobby and had to reserve our room at this hotel on Trivago.ca The staff member at the desk was unfriendly and in no way helpful. The smell of the hotel was weird. Like that of a hospital. The room was clean but not to hotel standards whatsoever. We had stayed at the Fairfield the night before and for the same price it was a much better hotel.

  • 2/5 cdklassen2 1 year ago on Google
Disappointing for the price and current 3.8 review. Bedding was damp and poorly made, the bed itself was old enough you could feel the springs, and the air conditioning was weak even on max. Oh and the pool is still closed (as per a review 3 weeks older). I expect better from a Days Inn. Don't get me wrong, if it were a 1- star hotel I would have been pleasantly surprised. But two stars is the best I can give this one.

  • 4/5 Ingrid B. 1 year ago on Google
We always stay here when we have an early morning flight. Bonus is being able to leave our vehicle parked while away, and Complimentary Shuttle to and from the airport. We’ve never had a problem with any room we’ve stayed in, and the staff have always been polite.

  • 2/5 Dennis N. 2 years ago on Google
The wall air conditioner was too loud to get a good night sleep. In addition, I now have to worry a little more about getting COVID because another guest believes mask rules do not apply to him - yes Days Inn staff were aware. The room had a view of roof shingles and a satellite dish, but that did not factor into the rating since we booked the room to sleep, not for the scenic view.

Flight was canceled and Porter set us up here for the night. Staff were friendly and polite. Room was clean and big tv. Nice Dove shampoo. Made a bad situation (flight delay) decent. Nice fruits and coffee in lobby.

I have just checked in the hotel. The attitude of the receptionist was disappointing. She was talking nicely to the previous but as soon as our turn came, she started to snap at us. She changed her condescending tone when I told her so. This is such a shortfall, getting such a disgusting welcome at the hotel. Another disappointment was the that the pool is closed. We chose this hotel specifically because of the pool and we have kids with us. When we asked if we will be able to take advantage of it during our stay , she snapped at us again.

  • 5/5 Shawn B. 1 year ago on Google
I booked this hotel because Fairfield was fully booked and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a bit further from the airport but it is right in the same plaza as a Tim Horton's. Their King suite was a great size and in good condition for the age. The pool was small but enjoyable. The breakfast was nice. They provide it in a container and you can easily take it to go. The best part is that they serve it starting at 6pm the night before so if you have to leave super early you don't have to make it in person for a specific time. I collected my breakfast at 11pm the night before. They also have fresh fruit available all day in the lobby. The front desk staff was really friendly and even asked how I enjoyed my stay upon check out. I have stayed so many places that don't even bother to ask. I would stay here again the next time I am in Ottawa.

I would like to say I never do this, I have thought about this for a couple of days (almost a week) and my stay would've been good if it wasn't for a couple things. When my friendand myself arrived, the lady behind the counter was extremely rude to us. She kept asking us our age, what we were doing, why we booked the hotel, and if we booked it. I know part of the reason is because we're both young (she's 19 and I'm 20), but I didn't see it as a reason to be that rude. I mean, she checked our IDs like 10 different times. Then she told us our room number very loudly, which made my friend super uncomfortable because we are two women traveling alone. When we got up to our room, we just wanted to unload our stuff and go for a swim. We had been traveling all day, and while my friend was tired, I had way too much energy to just sit down. The room had cobwebs in it, which wasn't a big deal, but it warranted a search to make sure the place was actually cleaned. Once we were sure it was, we went down to the pool. It's NOT a good idea. The smell of chlorine nearly knocked me off my feet. It was so strong, my friend, and I could not stop coughing. No matter, though, I was determined to go swimming. However because of the high amount of chlorine in the pool my hair is now ruined (it's all natural hair.) It's dried out beyond belief, it takes me 15 minutes to brush my hair when it used to take one. I'm honestly so disappointed. However, the room was okay, and so was breakfast, and the guy checking us out in the morning seemed nice as well. That's why I gave a 2 star and not a 0. However, for like $200, including tax a night, I will not be staying there again.
