One of the best hotels I've stayed on. That was memorable. Receptionists are friendly and willing to accomodate your requests. Room is so clean, so cozy and almost have complete amenities. I love the shower room. Front row rooms has the best views. Walking distance to Lyon subway station. I will definitely come back here again.

The Holiday Inn Ottawa Downtown - Parliament Hill is situated in a highly convenient location, west of Parliament Hill and close to the financial district. Having stayed there multiple times, I recently decided to opt for the Holiday Inn Express closer to the airport due to its cleanliness and lack of parking charges. One aspect to note is that parking at the Holiday Inn downtown is limited and comes at an additional cost on top of the room fees. This can be a downside for guests who are driving to the hotel. However, the rooms themselves are standard Holiday Inn quality, providing a comfortable stay without any major issues. One area where the hotel falls short is the size of the gym, which is incredibly small. It can be suitable if you're in dire need of a workout, but for those looking for a more comprehensive fitness experience, it may not meet expectations. On the positive side, the staff at the hotel are generally friendly and contribute to a hospitable environment throughout the stay. They are attentive and responsive to guest needs, adding a touch of warmth to the overall experience. It's worth mentioning that breakfast is not included at this hotel, so guests should be aware of that when planning their meals for the day. Families, in particular, might find the Holiday Inn Express on the east side of Parliament Hill to be a better option, as it offers a complimentary breakfast option that can be convenient and cost-effective. In conclusion, the Holiday Inn Ottawa Downtown - Parliament Hill boasts a prime location and provides standard Holiday Inn rooms for a comfortable stay. However, the limited and paid parking, small gym, and lack of included breakfast may be factors to consider when deciding on accommodation. For those who prioritize a complimentary breakfast and seek a slightly different experience, exploring the Holiday Inn Express on the east side of Parliament Hill could be a worthwhile alternative.

LOCATION: while it's true that technically the hotel is in the downtown area, it's really at the other end of the street away from Parliament, despite the property's somewhat misleading name. Granted, it's not a major hike, but it's not right next to the Parliament and other tourist sites. ROOM: Kinda small, but more importantly, the layout is weird. There is what passes for a desk area, more like a tiny nook if you want to use any kind of desk space. Really tight fit. Having said that, there is a fridge, Keurig coffee machine, and a microwave, so I suppose it could be worse. Not even a small bar soap, so you must resort to the liquid stuff or bring your own. Elevators are rather slow. And the hallways smell of cooking, likely people using the microwave to heat up stuff. If that's your thing, great. If not, well, be forewarned. SERVICE: overall, it was fine. Waited quite a while before someone showed up at front desk. Just no one saw fit to be at reception to check people in. And no bell or anything to alert staff that customer is waiting. Not a bad hotel, by any means, but I think there are better hotels in the area at a similar price range.

THIS PLACE SUCKS. I have stayed here twice on business and I can't believe it has 4 stars. I had to wait 10 minutes for an elevator every single day, got evacuated for a pulled fire alarm at 8 am and had people knocking on my door in the middle of the night. The overall cleanliness was subpar, staff were generally unhelpful in person and over the phone. You can hear EVERYTHING through the walls. Many other options for similar value in the area.

Best room I've ever stayed in!! King bed suite, we had 2 adults (1 walker) and a 6'1 fifteen year old and 2 small dogs. Living room area plus rest of the room gave everyone their own space to move around or just relax. Only one front desk staff (Mohammad) who wasn't very hospitable, everyone else went above and beyond!! Great central location too. Will definitely go back.

Friendly staff checking in, room was clean and great atmosphere. On the second floor it was a little loud at night but we went out anyway so this wasn't an issue for us. Checking out in the morning staff was very friendly and helpful.

We booked a spontaneous night away at this location. The check in process was seamless. The front desk agent (I wish I remembered his name but it started with an M) was so friendly and we had some great conversation. He was able to accommodate all my requests and provided a welcoming feeling instantly. Parking was tight (as expected in any downtown location) with the same entrance for in/out. This caused no issues for us but I could see during the busy season it could get a little more hectic. Rooms were very clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The only downfall of this hotel is the rooms are very small (recommend booking a suite if you need more space) and in our room the view was very poor. But overall a great experience, we will return!

Very friendly and warm service. We were turned away by another hotel on Christmas Eve after specifically booking a pet friendly room and were denied once we got there. But we were able to swiftly secure a room with this hotel on the spot, with our pet, in a minute. Immediately upon arrival we felt welcomed and relaxed after a long trip. Wonderful rooms and great location.

Great location to stay at. Downtown area, and no traffic around Very spacious room that we were in love with! Cleanliness of the room was on the top notch, not a single spot and everything was shiny! New restaurant opened with its access from the lobby - The Porch I believe. Much better than the one they had in the past. Loved their Glazed Salmon - kudos to the chef who cooked it! Very friendly and chatty servers who made the atmosphere even better!

Rooms are well furnished, comfortable, so are the beds. Breakfast buffet is light on options, but still decent. Well located, not too far from the parliament.

Loved this place! Stylish rooms, comfy beds, amazing location! The front desk staff were all super friendly and very very helpful. And walking distance to the metro line and parliament hill! Can't beat it especially for the price point.

Nice hotel, restaurant on site, this hotel’s elevators are VERY slow- do yourself the favour and ask for a lower room and use the steps. pet friendly but apparently my dog was barking when I was out so a room attendant followed me and witnessed and the dog wasn’t barking. Safe indoor parking, breakfast in a private restaurant for a fee. I would stay here again.

Overall stay wasn’t bad - parking garage is dangerous it’s the same entrance for exit & enter so if someone else is coming while you want to exit sometimes you have to back up two parking levels. For the cost of $30 parking per day you’re better off parking at the lot across from the hotel to avoid the headache of getting in and out. It’s close to places, but not close enough so if you aren’t a walker i’d suggest taking a hotel closer to the hill. Hotel rooms are small but that’s what to expect in a room downtown, they are decently clean. Room keys stopped working well before checkout time, while technology does glitch it’s tough when the parking garage has little service to call someone for help to enter the elevator back up to the room. Safety precautions taken by the hotel included needing a hotel room key to get to your floor, which was greatly appreciated. While service was pretty good I would say - I was confused as to why the receptionist was wearing pink sweat pants and had headphones around her neck while working.

So this hotel is in a great location. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Restaurant has really good food. House salad, fish and chips. The cons: The rooms have a window mount air/ heat system. Very loud. I mean loud enough to have to turn it off when sleeping. 4am fire alarm. A long term guest( refugees being housed there) cooking steak at 4am set off the alarm. Like who the h#$$ cooks a steak at 4am. Checkout was a "sorry". Yes things happen but I guarantee if this government arrangement to use hotels for immigration wasn't in place? There would be no 4am alarms due to cooking.

Ended up extending my stay twice because I liked it so much. Staff were helpful, and room was near perfect. Great mattress, huge TV, and two quite comfortable chairs to work out of. Location is also quite central. Short walk to both Lyon station and Parliament Hill. Loads of amenities all around. And easy place for delivery folks to access. My only very mild concern was that the shower takes a few minutes to heat up.

I didn't spend a whole lot of time in the room 🤷‍♂️ the location is great, there's lots of cool stuff in walking distance, and the city is fairly friendly to walkers. Super comfy beds, super comfy floor, and plenty of power outlets

The rooms were a great size,I loved that the washroom was clean and they supplied clean towels and rags. Wifi was great as well. The room was cold because of the AC but it's nothing that warm pajamas can't solve.

Staff were amazing! King bed room was good and clean, just a little squeezed. One elevator was out so being on 10th floor was slow. Parking expensive $30 day. And surrounded by one way streets so difficult to get to. Lots to see and do around.

excellent services from every department! Well done Holiday Inn! The rooms were very small, but the beds were very comfy. The only parking is underground, very close quarters, and still costs $30 over and above the room rental.

Parking garage is tight. No breakfast $30 per night for parking Big comfy beds. Staff was cheerful, helpful Hotel is close to things but not real close. We couldn't walk due to medical issue, do it was drive everywhere Hotel was quiet.

Absolutely wonderful stay! Staff is impeccable! I have stayed at many hotels and none were at the standard of this hotel! Clean, friendly and welcoming! Great job Holiday Inn Downtown! (The reservation specialist line you guys provide however is horrible, the reservation specialists have no idea what they are talking about and if I would have made a reservation through them it would have cost me 100’s of more dollars, if anyone looking to book, book directly with the hotel not through the reservation portal).

I mainly focus on cleanliness when I'm traveling and this place was clean. The room is small but I really appreciate that they are updated rooms and have lots of places to charge your phone/electronics. They have a mini fridge which is always nice. The underground parking is a bit tight. One of the windows looks into the window of another room which is weird.

Services were good, room was quite big, clean and tidy. Been to so many Holiday inns now, liked this one the most.
