We stayed there July 17-19. Clean renovated rooms, strong hot showers and great service from the front desk to the restaurant!! A special thanks to Maryiam for the extra effort and care the day we checked in.

Stayed for 3 nights. Front counter staff was nice. Beds were comfy. Pillows are all lumpy, woke up with sore neck because of it. 2 of the 3 days we had to dodge homeless folks just hanging out in the lobby and one of them was yelling at the other. Got room service the first night for dinner, DO NOT recommend, gross and super overpriced. My mom got chicken Parmesan and the sauce had zero flavour, like it was just canned crushed tomatoes or something. I got a veggie burger with a Greek salad, had to throw out the salad because was dripping in dressing. Burger was okay, nothing to write home about. We got breakfast at the restaurant for 2 days and I do recommend that, food was great and quick, service excellent and chef brought out our food to our table. Rooms were nice, liked that flooring was not carpet. Showers were great. Room 215 has a tripping hazard in the bathroom, a section of the wall awkwardly sticks out an an angle close to the toilet. Both of us tripped over it.

My room is clean, comfortable, modern, and the outdoor pool is great too, for swimming and/or lounging in the ample seating. The reason I'm writing this review though is the service here is EXCELLENT. I needed a hotel room at the last moment but could only get one night here because the hotel was full (no wonder, it's great!). When I checked-in I asked if they had had any cancellations because if so I would like to extend my stay. This morning I called the front desk to check once more, still no luck - still full. Then, an half-hour later as I was packing up & also looking for a new hotel, the front-desk called me back. There had been a cancelation. They were happy to offer me another night! At another hotel - with less than amazing service - the front desk would not have cared. They would have let me check-out. The staff here care though: they remembered my needs, called me, and solved my problem. That is *service*. I recommend this location to anyone visiting Ottawa. Also I live in the area and can confirm that the mall across the street will meet all your needs: pharmacy with ample grocery section, fast food, and family restaurants. The hotel is well placed to get downtown or back on the highway.

was not impressed with this hotel they do not offer shuttle service, the location is horrible. I kept being woken up by people screaming and fighting. most of the guest were construction workers there for work. they have nothing to offer.. well you get a FREE water when you check in. I was supposed to get a group rating for a wedding but they said they wouldn't honor it because I booked online the restaurant is only open 7-12 then closes until 5 then opens 5-11. the food was really gross and there was no good restaurants within walking distance. The rooms were gross(out dated) they have refillable shampoo and soap. the pool is ONLY open in the summer because it's outdoors. I would not ever stay here again.

This hotel is really quite good. Clean, friendly staff. Restaurant inside is decent. This was perfect for me as it was within walking distance to Ottawa university hospital. I could just leave my car, perfect because finding and paying for parking was a pain at the hospital. Staff were extremely helpful.

On business at local hospital approximately 500 meters away. Friendly and knowledgeable staff at check-in and check-out there is a restaurant on site - great breakfast. Did not try it for supper. No USB outlets to charge up my phone - but other than that - room was good. Curtains were easy to close and to make the room dark. Loved the citrus shampoo.

I had a very unpleasant stay at this hotel. When I checked in, they asked for my company name. When I asked what they needed it for, the lady said "so we know someone from your company stayed here", which didn't make much sense to me, so I opted not to share, as I believe it's my right not to share non-essential information with private companies. I wasn't rude, I just said I didn't want to share that information if I didn't need to. Later, we were in the lobby and overheard the front desk staff Googling the domain of our email addresses and very loudly and unprofessionally disparaging our organization and saying we were "spies" for not wanting to tell them the name of our company. This was very rude and confusing. We could hear them very clearly so they weren't even trying to be secretive. Needless to say, this was very unprofessional. And again, a hotel is NOT entitled to nor do they need a company name for a booking, so I don't see how we're spies when they're the ones who want to store our private information. Even more concerning is the fact that I was woken up at 1 AM by two men hitting a woman in the parking lot. This happened more than once over the next hour and I called both the front desk and the police. It appeared that at least one of the assailants or the woman was a hotel guest as they used a key card to enter the back door. I don't know what came of this situation and when I inquired with the front desk in the morning, the man told me everything was fine and apologized for the noise. I asked if the woman was okay and again he just said everything is fine. I felt that he was trying to brush me off which did not make me feel comfortable that the hotel had dealt with this adequately. My concern was not the noise but the well-being of the woman and the safety of the hotel, and I don't feel confident in the hotel's response to either of these things. I see from other reviews that other guests have also seen and heard things in the parking lot so clearly this is a consistent issue.

Rooms were clean. TV needed help, front desk came and looked after it personally. Restaurant is OK and convenient in a snow storm, and for breakfast. Pretty fast as well. We got a late check out. Thank you very much.

This is an excellent hotel. Clean, comfortable, great service. Mostly filled with business personnel and no extra amenities or complimentary breakfast but, it was straightforward and done well.

The rooms are nice, cleaning is acceptable, The cafe attached restaurant is terrible and sad. I ordered nachos that were somehow burnt and melted on the top and raw shredded marble on the bottom. The service was polite and cut the cost of the meal in half.

Amazing hotel, very clean and spacious rooms. Few hairs under the bedsheets, probably from the last guests to stay in the room. Located downtown minutes from many amenities including a 24hour pharmacy. Staff are friendly and professional. Tv has chrome cast built into it so that's very convenient.

Staff was so friendly and helpful. Allowed me to continue to stay in the same room for 5 nights on a very busy weekend in Ottawa with bike rally, festival's etc. Had a health emergency with my husband who was in hospital 4 blocks away. Found me a room as a walk- in Saturday at 10am, let me check in immediately not wait till 4pm. And never charged or even called room on check out day at noon again taking my circumstances into consideration. Went above and beyond to make my stay as easy and stress less as possible. Five stars to front desk staff, housekeeping for all the coffee and towels and managers at check in and check out very professional and diplomatic during a very terrible time. Thanks guys will stay nowhere else in the city but with Best Western Plus on Carling....

Reception staff were professional and welcoming, explained to us what we needed to know about their hotel. We had breakfast in their restaurant and were pleased. While in the room, I couldn’t hear any neighbours even though we knew only a few rooms were left - very quiet! Special thanks to Emily who cleaned our room; it was spotless!

Ive only been here for an hour or so but this is by FAR the worst hotel in Ottawa. The beds are dirty and uncomfortable. It is SO LOUD! The walls are paper thin, and the garbage truck is just beeping outside my window and has been for 30 minutes. Absolutely terrible. The owner should truly be ashamed

I had a great weekend here, amazing staff funny and friendly, very welcoming. Thank you to the staff, I wish I could book another night considering the pool is now open! I would totally book again! I am still here until noon, and may possibly take you up on that offer :)!

Update: Just because you do not show record of my staying there it does not mean I didn't stay. The booking was under my partner's name and card. The room was dusty and smelled musty and damp. The overall cleanliness was sub-standard. You can try and use every excuse in the books, but as a professional working in public affairs I know the game. Your hotel is in serious need of fixing and updating. Still the rattiest hotel I've stayed in Ottawa. This is one of the rattiest places in Ottawa.

Hotel was renovated recently but was done poorly. You can see paint bleed, plastic baseboards are stapled in and uneven. The windows shake on one another, if it's windy this gets very loud. Also it trained spring out stay and water leaked in from the windows (they are not sealed) onto the electric plugs and where the ventilation unit is plugged (very dangerous). Had puddles of water all along the stapled baseboard. Had a stain on my cheat, remote control worked on and off (probably needed new batteries). Staff changed our rooms after the water damaged. When I checked in I specifically asked for 2 beds in room and was told was not possibly when they changed our rooms due to the water damage we were giving double bed rooms. Was also forced to book 2 night stay as would not let us book Saturday night only even when available. Altogether poor experience. Almost forgot, looked like suspicious activities in the parking lot of a women exchanging services.

ONCE again the Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre did not disappoint myself / daughter. I come every so often to visit my daughter and I always choose this Motel. You can always count on great friendly staff , housekeeping is amazing when they prepare the rooms, the food in the Restaurant is very good and very reasonably priced. I had a wonderful Lady named Sherry at the front desk when we arrived very late at night and she was absolutely a lovely Lady with our check in. She was friendly and warm and suggested some things to do while we were there . Thank You to each and every one that made our stay as pleasant as possible.

What set this hotel apart for me was the staff. It seemed to me that they wanted us to feel welcome there and it was genuine. Lots of places could take a customer service lesson from here. Warm and friendly greeting who couldn't do enough to make sure we had and knew everything before we left the front desk. Restaurant staff with the same attitude and treatment. Even checkout gave the same feeling. Hotel is nicely renovated, great feeling bar/restaurant in the building. There were a few small things that had to be overlooked just based on how great the staff was. For sure a place to stay again when we come back to Otttawa.

Honestly very impressed. Had such a great sleep. Loved the kitchen. New appliances, full fridge, hot plate/stove top, fully stocked. Dishwasher, automatic dish detergent and liquid dish detergent provided, new sponges, towels, paper towels. Very nice experience.

Starting to become outdated. But if you need to go to the civic hospital you are set. Only 4 minutes. The room was outdated. Smelled musty. Ac didn't work the greatest. I decided to change hotels for my next trip.

This hotel is overall great. The room we stayed in was well-maintained and functioning, and it was well priced. My friend specifically warned me this hotel is not centrally located which is very true. If you think this hotel is located in the area which all attractions Ottawa offers, they don't and not walkable distance. We had to take Lyft to go back and forth which was fine and we were prepped for it. If you have kids or seniors who may appreciate more convenient location (napping etc), you might want to stay elsewhere. But if you are okay to spend all day sightseeing and okay to Uber for one round trip a day, this can be a great option for you :) I really enjoyed my stay and staff was excellent!

This place was terrible. I’m not one to write reviews but I just had to spread awareness to others. DO NOT STAY HERE!! They double charged us for our room and the staff wouldn’t refund the extra charge. They are the worst at communicating and keep redirecting calls getting nothing done trying to brush over the problem. They spelled our email wrong and then we had a plethora of other problems from there. If you want a headache, extra charges and to be on the phone all day then stay here. The staff are mean and unforgiving.

Rooms are decent and service was okay. Quite surprised that this BW+ doesn’t have complimentary breakfast. Came for a work trip and the breakfast is like a meeting point in the morning. Need to remember to read hotel Amendities/offering, seems as covid has changed BW’s chain offering. Customer service could improve with some empathy. Should note, there is only 1 elevator 🛗 Better to take stairs then to wait.

I have been to this hotel plenty of times, and I have been a rewards member because of this hotel. Last time I was here many years ago, they were doing a lot of renovations, and it shows now. The room was comfortable and clean, and the room service during the day is on demand which for me is a plus. It's on the pricey end, but what isn't expensive these days. The location could be tricky to get to if you're not familiar with the area. One thing I could criticize is that there could be a central location for the vending machines, ice making and water dispensers. If I want ice, it's in the middle of the 2nd floor, water is in the lobby, with a drink and snack vending machine sprinkled throughout.

Basic room, firm mattress, hot shower with pressure. I do love that they have chromecast in the room so you can cast your own shows.

I had a wonderful stay at Best Western Plus Ottawa City Centre (Sept 2023). Their restaurant had a great selection of food, and it was open at convenient times. I ate there several times for breakfast and dinner. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The staff were very knowledgeable and courteous. The location perfectly suited my activities. A great experience.

I had problems with my credit card and one of the women at the front desk who's name i can't quite recall but sounds like Sheryll was super nice, very patient with me, helped me get the issue with my card sorted out, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the other staff i did talk with were very friendly and helpful, the hotel is near a number of decent restaurants and bars... the list goes on and on. i very much enjoyed my stay here and i would stay here again

Front desk staff are not nice to people who travel there for medical services in the area. Assuming that there is no car rental information to collect, saying that it is policy to have no visiters at all and that drinking is not allowed while staying there. This is also not a place you want to go to if you are not into having bugs in your room. The staff aren't going to care and will tell you that it is only a water insect. Avoid this place if at all possible. I know that the staff don't care about guests. Location is great though.

Clean enough hotel. Very thorough at check in. Must be a high end place. 227 for my room for a night. Meh. Room was nice and clean had all the needed amenities. Pillows sucked, two together you just sink right to the bed. Other than that. Was a bit of an animal house, tournament or something in town for kids. Not their fault of course.

This is great place to stay. Not having breakfast as a part of stay was disappointing. They do have attached restaurant but that’s little expensive. Coffee refill costed us $2.5 which was unexpected. They do have good television system where you can cast videos from phone. Having filtered water and printer option was great. Reception lady was kind enough to help my daughter with kids channel.

Rooms are big and clean with great light. Beds were a little hard for my liking. They provided no cream for coffee which doesn't make sense for what they charge per night. Good location

Wonderful experience. This hotel is about 15 min maximum from attractions and museums. All staff go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Room was extremely clean. Shower for a hotel was incredible. Restaurant was fair, over priced for the quality. Thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor pool. I will 100% book here again for my next trip.

The location of this hotel is excellent for quick access to Ottawa attractions and neighbourhoods. It is close to access to the 417 and also to Dow's Lake and the canal. The hotel has plenty of free parking. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great free wifi. Onsite restaurant with great food and friendly staff, at reasonable prices. In the summer there is a marvelous heated outdoor pool. This is our go to hotel for visits to Ottawa.

This is my go to hotel when in Ottawa. The location is central and easy to access off the 417. The hotel is walking distance to Little Italy, the Experimental Farm, etc. Check in is always a breeze and the staff attentive and polite. Also, I never have issues with parking.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, honestly made the experience! The pool was also a great feature, clean, heated, and not too busy. Only downfalls we an uncomfortable bed, but that is different for everyone, and being able to hear bathroom and television through the adjoined room door (we were not a group).

I travelled to Ottawa for work this weekend and stayed here - I must say that I highly recommend this hotel and location!! I had some issues with checking in due to losing my credit card, and despite the fact that I arrived quite late, the two employees there at the time, Brian and Sherry, were phenomenally accommodating, friendly, and helpful! They found a way to get me checked in quickly and made sure that I had everything I needed. This hotel and location has excellent service, nice quiet rooms, and very reasonable prices. Thank you to Brian and Sherry for making my trip so much less stressful and for being so open and friendly!

Terrible stay. Absolutely nothing in the rooms. No pen, no paper, no bare essentials. We asked to upgrade to a king size bed and we were told that the reservation could not be changed. Asked to cancel as we wanted to leave and stay somewhere else, no resolve offered, would not credit us for the second night. Do not stay here.

Upon check-in, one of the hotel concierges charged my credit card for the full room rate and a deposit for the room. After paying, I realized that I had already done so while booking my room through Expedia. Someone came to help this concierge (who was in training) and insisted that they keep the full $300 until the end of my stay. I urged them to return the amount for my room onto my card and they did. I’ve stayed in this hotel prior to COVID (in a double queen) and the room I had was much nicer. I’m not sure if specific rooms are reserved for people who book through a third party website, but mine was no where near as nice or clean. The ceiling was really gross looking and cracked, there was a ton of noise from the hallway despite me being in a room at the end of the hall. It was just really run down and something you’d expect from a 2-3 star, not a 4. Will not be returning, especially for a single queen room.

The staff both day and night shift were exceptional friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious clean and nice. I had a slight running toilet but I didn't stay long enough to bother to escalate it, usually a handle toggle solved it. The location is close to downtown but away from traffic and decent for airport access for a short trip. Close by to some amenities within a 5-10 min walk.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Ottawa hotel and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the clean and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. The staff were all friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make sure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. One of the things I love most about the Best Western Ottawa is the spacious and comfortable rooms. I was able to stretch out and relax after a long day of travel, and the bed was so comfortable that I had a great night's sleep. The hotel also has a lot of ample parking, which was convenient for me as I was traveling with my car. Another thing I appreciated about the Best Western Ottawa is its convenient location. It is located near the highway, making it easy for me to get to and from the hotel. It is also just a short drive away from some of Ottawa's top attractions, which made it easy for me to explore the city. Overall, I had a fantastic stay at the Best Western Ottawa. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the parking was ample, and the location was convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ottawa.

It was a nice simple hotel. It was clean, had a restaurant, and small outdoor pool. The price was reasonable and staff was helpful abd friendly. I would have liked to give 5 stars, but the experience was unpleasant because the rooms are not sound proof. Walls are paper thin and we can hear everything that is happening, not only in the room next to ours, but in the one across. The hallway carried a lot of sound, even when people were not talking loud and were farther away from our door (tdoor is also not sound proof). I was kept awake until past midnight with chatter and thump sounds from the next room, and from the room across the hall with a group of boys. They were talking and laughing loud. And I use ear plugs!! I was really surprised that the rooms were not sound proof. How can a hotel be built with paper thin walls between rooms? It felt like they tried to be cheap when building it. Terrible for couples who may need privacy.

Great Place !!. quiet room with all the amenities. provision of small kitchen in the room is a great help. I enjoyed staying in this property. Wonderful breakfast menu in the restaurant at the basement. One can get the city bus in 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
