Ignore the messy bed, took this on our way outπŸ˜… Good hotel. The price is decent, the space is decent, the service is good and the proximity to most things in Ottawa is okay. It’s a good hotel. Not fancy by any means, and not bad in any way significant. The breakfast that is included is good for a small hotel and actually has enough options to get you on the road through to lunch. I would definitely book it. The room was clean, the hallway was clean, the bathroom was clean, super accommodating (we had requested a very early check-in which they accommodated). The towels had a vinegary smell to them but it turned out to be just mine in our entire party so ask for new ones lol. Yeah, and we got our deposit back. So yeah, good hotel.

Older style hotel but very good value for a stay. The building is well built and solid, quiet for an undisturbed night of sleep. I was impressed that the unit doors were well adjusted and did not slam loudly like many of the hotels out there. The room sizes are large with large bay windows. The air conditioning in our room worked very well and on wall thermostat. The renovated bathroom with shower only, no tub was updated with quality Delta fixtures, nice tile. The one bed of 2 was newer and very comfortable as well. Fridge and microwave included in room. Breakfast area near front desk area was limited in space for so many patrons but you can grab and go to your room with a tray. Most affordable value for Ottawa, would stay again!

The staff here are fantastic! I'm a bus 🚍 driver. I dropped my group off at 8:30am then headed to the hotel where reservations were made. I asked if I could get into my room early instead of sitting in the bus for 8hrs. They got a room ready for me in 30 minutes and even directed me to the area where I could have a free breakfast. πŸ˜³πŸ˜€ After I ate I went back to my bus in the parking lot to wait. Soon a manager walked across the big parking lot to tell me my room was ready. OMG... So nice of them. They even let me have a late check out at 1pm since I would have had to sit in the bus for 8hrs. The room was nice, the WIFI is real good. A big thick mattress and 4 really nice pillows. I had a good sleep. Once again. The people here are fantastic!

This place is fine. Definately a bunch of business travellers. Its off the beaten path away from main traffic. But it was suitable and as required. Could have used a pool. But not real complaints about the service

A bit expensive which wasn't a big problem that's just how hotels usially are but some man stood outside my room banging a hammer on my door and arguing with his girlfriend interupting my sleep for about 40 minutes in the middle of the night, A terrible experience which hasn't happened to me even at cheap motels or hostels. The front desk staff was always very helpful to me.

Worst customer service. Came all the way from US and booked online upon coming here the receptionist tells us that we have to pay a deposit so we were okay with that then he tells us it has to be a credit card while I give him my credit/debit from an actual bank he says that β€œit looks like a gift card” we make him understand that it’s an actual bank card then he tells us it has to be credit card while it is and he kept telling us no it’s a debit card and he did not let us check in now we have to wait 7/10 business days for our refund. He was very rude and disrespectful.

Four of us stayed there for one night in one room. Room was bit small but clean. Washroom was also clean. Located away from the airport but comfortable distance for the downtown, Carlton uinversity and University of Ottawa. There is a big shopping mall in the proximity and the train station is also there. There are many restaurants around the area. They provided a complementary breakfast buffet which is good for a quick top up in the morning as the dining area is bit tidy. Parking is also good and value for the money.

The bed was comfortable and the shower was good but what was most impressive to me was Anna at the front desk. The computer at the front desk wasn’t working so she had to run from the front to the back to book the rooms and she was efficient and fast dealing with a constant growing line of guests. Well done lady πŸ‘

My wife and I are self-professed discerning tourists who often indulge in relatively upscale accommodations (our beloved Regents in Berlin takes the cake). However, being mindful of our budget, we occasionally opt for more economical choices. Our recent road trip across Canada, starting from NYC, led us to this humble abode. And WelcomINNS Ottawa exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable. While the location is not remarkable, the hotel is quaint, clean, and quiet. The rooms are not gigantic, but they are spacious, pleasant and clean, with comfortable beds and a shower with a water pressure that outperforms most hotels twice the price. Bathrooms are squeaky clean. The breakfast is advertised as "continental", which in my dictionary translates as "hungry-when-finished", but it was actually great! Yogurts, pancakes, great selection of bread, eggs (!!!!!), oatmeals, good coffee/tea station... Definitely as good a continental breakfast as they get, and we left the tables full and satisfied. At the time of our stay in Ottawa Welcominns was one of the most affordable options. Needless to say, we are very, very happy to have stayed there, and hope to visit again. Our heartfelt gratitude extends to everyone involved in making this place such a pleasant experience.

I am a local resident ; yet the first time to book an overnight stay at hotel through Expedia. I chose WelcomINNS Ottawa. What can I say ? Definitely, I shall come back to that clean, quiet, friendly hotel again. The price is right and the location is just right , It is located in the opposite side of Hudson's Bay of St Laurent Shopping Centre Mall.

Really nice hotel! Right off the highway, so you can hear road noise, but it worked for me as I was coming from outside of the city to visit friends and was immediately leaving the next morning. They also let me check in early, around 1 PM instead of the usual 3 PM, which was very much appreciated. The continental breakfast is free and had some decent options.

Fantastic hotel if you're in the mood for damp sheets, blood on the bed spread, an absolutely baffling shower design sprays water everywhere and includes no shower curtain or anything to block the flow of steam and spray, and many more surprises! Messed up my room and told me to come back at 5 after work to switch to the queen bed I reserved and when I did they told me they gave it away (and can't discount the cheaper room because the manager was nowhere to be found). Might be suitable for an inebriated racoon. The place is an absolute hole. Never again. Edit: quick update! I asked when the manager would be in and I was told they could cancel my reservation and I could go elsewhere! Trust me, if I had the choice I would absolutely go elsewhere! Anywhere elsewhere, in fact! Really love being threatened for trying to complain!

I had an exceptional stay at this hotel! The service and hospitality were top-notch. The standout was undoubtedly the employee named Issa, who went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. His kindness and attentiveness made us feel right at home. Overall, a fantastic stay with outstanding service.

I was really happy with the room. It was very clean when I received it, larger than I expected, and it had a coffee maker in the room. There was a vending machine outside my room for buying water and soda, and the hotel was very close to a huge shopping mall and the subway. The breakfast was not the best (eggs, waffles, cereal and cheese + juice/tea/coffee), but I didn't expect much. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay!

We stayed here while we visited family. The staff here are really nice. The rooms are clean and were cleaned everyday. We forgot some important items in the room and the staff brought it down quickly and didn't throw out. We will be back again.

I have had a very good experience here; my room was clean, bed was good, service was great! I was helped with a smile when I wanted to store my luggage before/after checkin/out, call a taxi, etc. People did their best to explain how I could go to some places. There's also breakfast which is pretty ok. The hotel is a 5 min walk from train line 1 station that brings you straight downtown, and it's right next to a big shopping mall St Laurent, but other than that, there's not so much around.

We normally stay at this hotel for a night or two,but not after our last experience. We got to the room that they claimed it's newly renovated, it was a disaster.it wasn't cleaned, food and rice on the table, rice on the carpet. Oil stains on the table. So we couldn't put our stuff anywhere. We went down to see the associate, she was nice and gave us what they say it's cleaned and again same issue it wasn't touched. That was very late at night and we couldn't keep changing rooms and figure out which room is clean. I gave it two stars only for the girl who tried to help but even her it was like this is normal, but for us this was not normal especially if you're paying the full price. We complained to the management and asked for compensation for the inconvenience we had to go through after a long trip, but they apologized and like it is what it is. I don't recommend as it's my last stay there.

yesterday at 7:30 am I booked a stay at this welcome inns and, unfortunately, it was a truly disappointing experience. I made the reservation online and, upon arriving at the property, I was shocked by the service, the atmosphere, the odor, and the accommodations. Given my immediate concerns, I requested a cancellation just one minute after making the reservation. However, despite my prompt request and the fact that I did not stay at the hotel, I was denied any form of refund. Even though my check in was 4 pm and this was 730 am ( 5 minutes after booking) The first impression of the hotel was far from welcoming. The atmosphere was gloomy, and it was evident that the property was not well-maintained. The lobby had an unpleasant odor that was difficult to ignore. It was a stark contrast to the pictures and descriptions I had seen when making the reservation. When I reached the front desk to voice my concerns and request a cancellation, the service I received was equally disappointing. The staff members were unhelpful and seemed disinterested in addressing my issues. They informed me that the reservation was non-refundable, despite the fact that I had just made it minutes ago and had not even entered my room. I understand that hotels have policies in place, but this situation was different. I had not stayed at the hotel for a single minute, and my request for a refund was made almost immediately. It was disheartening to see that the hotel was unwilling to accommodate even under these circumstances. 1 star

The service was 10/10. The rooms were very nice. The building didn’t look as nice but don’t judge a book by its cover! The hall ways weren’t great either…but you don’t sleep in the halls. For the location, the price, the service and the quality of the room - I highly recommend staying here!

Staff are not responsive! We forgot to pick up our Battery backup (power bank) in the charging port in our room! The same day we called them and asked to pick up the power bank and keep it for us ! They have not yet confirmed or called us despite repeated calls and reminders even after 3 days !! That shows how they are treating their guests !!

I came in to a dirty towel left in the room I had to go down and ask the front desk to take care of it as if it was my job to supervise after the cleaners, the jaccusy bathtub was not clean. The breakfast was not great at all. This could be my taste buds that didn't like the syrup.

Nice and super affordable hotel with friendly staff. The room was clean and neat. Breakfast space was limited but we absolutely loved the fresh waffles!!!!! Also was super pleased about the fact that my husband forgot his watch when we left - we called the hotel and they were amazing. They helped us find it and mailed it all the way from Ottawa to London ON. Super greatly to them for this act of kindness!!!!

Good place to stay if you get a renovated room. Fast connection to the city centre by tram. Breakfast is fine, but too much plastics.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the WelcomINNS during my trip to Ottawa. The staff at WelcomINNS truly went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Special thanks for the gentleman at the front desk. I received a warm welcome at check-in and I was impressed by the staff's professionalism and genuine care for their guests. They were always available to answer any questions, offer recommendations, or assist with any request, making me feel like a valued guest throughout my stay. The room I stayed in was spacious, and immaculately clean with all the necessary amenities. I would certainly recommend the WelcomINNS to anyone traveling to Ottawa for business or pleasure.

It was a pretty cozy place, reasonably close to the airport and downtown too. The receptionist (can't remember her name - I'm sorry) was a lot of help. She was really amazing. It was a quiet and comfy place, loved being there.

We had a nice stay. We were a bit disappointed by breakfast compared to the Boucherville area, QC location we are familiar with. Breakfast was OK but many things we gone by the time we got there. No fresh scrambled eggs or hot beans like we were hoping. Pillows are extra fluffy but if you prefer a more minimal pillow bring you own as these are huge. Also we got some kind of warning ticket for parking in the lot overnight but night check in person didn't mention any special parking requirements. Overall a decent stay.

Pros: Room was comfy and had everything you need. Fairly clean, nice stuff. Good breakfast with waffles. Cons: shower stall can be cleaner (hair on the walls). Sheets were not fixed to the bed, and were shorter than bed itself, which resulted in them sliding up during the night. Pillows were awful.

  • 2/5 Christa A. 2 years ago on Google
Service was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean but freezing cold. Sheets were uncomfortable and coverlet did nothing to offset the freezing air coming through the windows. The price was outrageous for a cold, restless sleep.

I suppose it is fine for a night's stay while travelling on a budget. WelcomINNS is a bells-whistles free hotel with little more than a clean room and convenient access to food and shopping nearby.

Had no real issues with this hotel other than being out of town for extended periods of time I wanted a room with a kitchenette with a good size fridge Etc and this did not offer that so I ended up switching to another hotel

Checked in - went up to our room, bed appeared made. Pulled the duvet back and it was obvious a cleaning staff tried to cut corners by folding the duvet over the slept bed. Advised front desk staff Kayla who didn't seem too bothered. Promptly checked out and stayed in the near by Holiday Inn.

I changed 3 rooms due to the smell of damp. in the last room the carpet was very wet. The water flush in the bathroom was not working and it overflows and make bad smell In the end they moved us to a good room It was a bad experience

It’s horrible!!! I just opened the door and 3 bugs were walking in the walls and microwave. All the reviews about the smell and bugs are true. I really recommend you to spend a bit more and at least stay in an hygienic hotel. Thank God the staff was very kind helping me with the situation and refund.

So for the price we booked the hotel.. But unfortunately it was not at all clean.. The room the furniture everything was full Of dust .. Even You can see the dust in the air. The bathroom looked clean but when i noticed on the floor there was tons of hair ..I opened the drawer of the chester so I found 2 hats and some receipts might be from the previous guest. It was so full of dust that my kids and my husband who is asthmatic were sneezing coughing. My husband was having breathing issues.. he went to the front desk, they were kind enough to change the room but it was same with the other room as well.. as if they never ever do the cleaning or vacuuming or dusting

  • 4/5 Bushra S. 1 year ago on Google
Very good for a 2 star hotel. Although we found one dirty towel left behind by the cleaning staff from the previous customers. Otherwise clean, decent free breakfast.

Nice little place. Good deal. Reasonable. Let us check I'm early (14:20) Room was clean, bathroom was newly renovated and nice/clean. It was very quiet at night and during the day. If I had to say anything negative it would be that; wish the TVs were a little bigger than 32" and was able to connect to my phone and/or YouTube. The breakfast was decent, for a free breakfast. Very much enjoyed our two night stay. Ps. Rating is based on price range and expectations.
