I guess I didn't understand it was a college dorm before I booked, but even as a dorm it was disappointing. The hallways smelled like feces, there were parties happening in rooms and hallways were loud, the rooms were gross and literally falling apart. There was a tack pinning the wallpaper back on the wall in 1 of the 2 rooms in the unit we rented. $126 was OUTRAGEOUS for how horrible the accommodation was.

We booked it through booking and it wasn't mentioned anywhere that it was a student dorm, so we were surprised when we got there. Because of that, rooms are very, very basic, there is no dishes and no cutlery in the kitchen. On the plus side, it was the cheapest 2 bedroom "apartment" in Ottawa and students at the check-in desk were very nice. I would say if you are only staying for one night and planning to eat out, it is fine but I would not not stay there longer.

We will not come back. This is not a hotel but a student dormitory and is severely lacking in maintenance. It is extremely run-down, with dirty and sticky tables and chairs. The towels are also dirty, and the room has an unpleasant smell. I had to buy air freshener myself to freshen up the room. The service is also very poor. During my stay, on multiple occasions, staff members entered my room without knocking, which made me feel unsafe. Especially on the last day, when check-out was at 11 o'clock, a man barged into my room at 8 o'clock without any communication and left upon realizing someone was there. Then at 9 o'clock, he entered again and stood next to my bed to inform me that I needed to check out today. It was terrifying. I was still asleep, and a stranger was standing right in front of me. The room is clearly is still occupied basic on our things in the kitchen, but he still come and opened my room door. Not recommended place.

Excellent value for what you are pay. Check in was relatively easy and parking is close to the main building and is only $5 per day. We had a 2 bedroom with a private 3 piece bathroom, full size fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable and our rooms were clean. Location is good and there is a large plaza across the street. If you are on a budget this is an excellent choice.

Considering the amount of damage I had in my room, I'm surprised they rented it out to somebody. I definitely wouldn't stay here again. The pictures down below show some of the damage that was in the room

Staff at front desk seemed confused with our group booking at first, but was sorted out. Even went above and beyond to move my roommate and I to a room near the elevator because of her mobility issues. Was quiet for sleeping. Bed was more comfortable than I expected. Feel like for the cost there should be a few more amenities like kettle or coffee maker, or at least a microwave to reheat food. Definitely could have found an AirBnB for the same cost or less, with all of those amenities.

The rooms were clean and functional. It was great to have two rooms, a common area/kitchenette and a washroom. Toiletries were included. The cost was so reasonable -- $75 in the Ottawa area for a "suite" basically. Unfortunately, we had to pay for parking but it was very reasonable ($5 for 24 hours). Algonquin College is just far enough away from the downtown to keep travelling around easy. College Park is close by with restaurants if wanted.

Best alternative to a hotel in the summer. Excellent rates: nightly, weekly and monthly. Great for families as their suites have two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a small kitchenette with a big fridge and a microwave. There are also two kitchens in each floor and laundry machines on the ground floor. It's a few steps from the College Square, where you could find restaurants, supermarkets and many other stores. The bus stop is right in front of the residence. The staff is friendly and helpful. I made a reservation using their website for 35 nights and stayed there for only 31 nights and they sent me a check of the remaining 4 nights. My friend initially booked a suite for two weeks and when he had to extend his stay, they applied the monthly rate for him and he only paid the remaining amount hr owed them! However, they could do better in terms of cleanliness. The carpets are old and most of the towels offered should be changed. Also one of the elevators was out of service the whole time and when the other one stopped working, we had to either carry the stroller and other shopping items up the stairs or make a long walk around the building to the other elevator!!

A great option if you’re traveling on a budget. The rooms are clean and adequate for the price you pay. You’re given access to a full suite with a full kitchen and 2 separate bedrooms. It is advisable to bring your own dishes and utensils if you’re planning on cooking any meals in your room. Ample parking next to the facility. I’d definitely recommend this place!

Scheduled power outage during our 4 day stay and they did not tell the soccer team! First night the power went out all night and food was spoiled in fridges, no safety lights in parking lots and elevators not working. The place is tired and not cleaned well. Our soccer coach has a really funky smell in her room. She had to buy air freshener to try and make it bearable. Will never come here for hotel stay. We ended up going elsewhere and had a lovely stay in Ottawa.

It feels weird to live in college campus first, but I am a big fan now that I tried. Rooms are clean, students are very helpful if need anything, and you cannot beat the price.

Great location, remember this is a Residential area for university students and not a hotel, but for the price and service its valuable

Good accommodations for students but many of the rooms need to be redone, otherwise all in all good place to be

Room is always cleaned, everyday, I like it. I stayed almost 1 and half month :) Two room which I don't need it but one always empty. One room just waste. If two bed is different case. Paying for parking is little awful because don't know when need to be renewed. Received two tickets for missed two times for couple of hours late because forgot to come down and post parking. Residence parking supposed to be included or should be managed by Residence. I had to go to the City of Ottawa to appeal. Parking ticket for missed ticket is way too much. Not sure how other people deal with it, for me it is totally hassle and expensive. Some front desk staff, looks don't have enough proper training. I had to pay more than I booked amount during the check-in but lately adjusted after I left. Wifi- open, very unsecured, browser connection for few weeks, was very difficult to connect/browse because of certificate security warning. Later it fixed but still was not 100% secure. IT team need to pay attention on this. Overall, I enjoyed staying. Will come back and stay again!

Beautiful rooms with almost all amenities provided. Would recommend everyone to stay here especially if you on a budget and with friends

I was happy with the room for the price. We were three adults - my husband, my (adult) son and myself. We would have needed two hotel rooms but here, the rooms are divided into two private bedrooms, a kitchenette and a bathroom, so one was perfect for us. I think it is perfect for a travelling group where unrelated pairs have to share a hotel room. Each has privacy and the price is reasonable.

I recently stayed in the residence for 7 days over the August long weekend. While I expected the room would be about a 3-star rating (which it was) and understood that my room could be a walk from the front lobby (it was... and that was no problem). It had a fridge and microwave, which was useful and knew to bring my own dishes (what I forgot was quickly purchased at the Dollarama, a walking distance away). The bed was comfortable and it was (mostly) quiet. All was as expected in that way. What was frustrating was the fact that we were told that the garbage would be emptied daily, that dirty towels would be replaced every couple of days and that on the 4th day we would get a full clean. The first couple of days my garbage and towels were serviced but then all service stopped. I ran out of toilet paper and by the last day the garbage was building up and stinking. Bed never changed. My brother staying in the residence as well and his cleaning service was great (and as promised). When I complained, I was told by one (night) staff member that they don't clean rooms at all (what?) and another staff (in the morning) said that it should have been cleaned and apologized for lack of service. Still my room was not cleaned (not even the garbage picked up). When I complained again, they said that the service staff indicated my room was done (it most definitely was not). Something is going on with the cleaning staff for this to happen. There needs to be more training, consistency and accountability/supervision) in cleaning and front staff.

A very nice university dorm that is comfortable to stay in. It is a location that is convenient for everyday grocery, alcohol, and other daily uses. It is still a distance away from Ottawa, about 1/2 an hour drive. The location is pretty easy to find and the reception is courteous and friendly. For those who like to visit universities, it is a must stay. The price is affordable as well.

Although I did not stay at the residence I did book a family in for the long weekend on July 1st. I was greeted by friendly staff and was especially happy with the service I received from Jaye Rodgers your supervisor who was more then understanding of the situation this family was in and the need to have a place to stay over that long weekend. Not only was his service overwhelming but he also extended his services in the future if required again. Service was excellent. Strongly recommend them again . A big thank you to all the staff involved.

It is a university residence so don't expect anything fancy or at the heart of the Ottawa attractions, but if you are looking for something inexpensive this is an excellent choice. Fridge, microwave, two rooms each with a double bed, desk, and shall TV, plus a kitchen and three piece bathroom. You will have to pay a nominal fee for parking. Surprising quiet. The complex is a bit sprawling so expect a bit of a walk to your room from parking and the front desk.

Place was reasonable clean. Kitchenette was fine but no cutlery. Beds were uncomfortable too small for two adults. Two small flat pillows per bed. Way too warm. AC came on occasionally but it was terribly warm in the rooms. I was awake all night sweaty & clammy. Debated going out to my car to cool off & sleep. Guess it depends on how cheap is acceptable for a person. For $20 more we could have gotten a nice hotel room & actually SLEPT

Stay away! RUN! from this student hostels listed among hotels. My family booked this place thinking it was a hotel only to findout that it was actually a student hostels. The stuff, including the young (inexperienced) manager were very unprofessional. The place has no parking, you have to pay for parking. Tried to cancel because of no parking since I had my family of 5 with me they refused to cancel since I was 5 minutes late for cancelation. They charged me for one night without shame, but it was worth losing that money than stay at this unclean hostels listed as hotel. Stay away!
